Dear XDA Forum members,
Need you help . I purchased a new Imate JASJAM after few days of using the PPC , i noticed a strange thing happening on my phone. All the application just closes automatically . when i open any apps it just closes within seconds , i am just able to receive calls and no other functions work . I took it to the imate service center couple of times now but after they handed over the phone to me , the problem persists after using the phone for 2 days . It seems very strange to me . Request your help/suggestion and solution to control this problem so that i can use the PPC again without any problems
What did the service center tell you was wrong with it?
And have you tried just doing a system restore?

The service center restored my mobile device from WM6 to WM5 as it was not compatible, earlier they thought it was an software issue and then the hard ware was also checked but to no avail. after sometime of working on the ppc , the programs just closes immediately within seconds of opening.
It should run WM6 just fine, they also have a wm6 rom for your device so that should tell you somthing.
sounds like they didnt know what was wrong with it.
Tell them your unhappy with it and you want a replacment, thats if u havent unlocked it>
Or maybe someone else here willl reply with a better solution.
To me though it sounds faulty

Well the phone is not under any warranty , checked lots of links in google but never helped . Just hopes somebody comes out with a solution . Already have paid enough for service of the phone at the service center .....pls help

If you got the phone from a legit source it should have had some type of warrenty at one time. And if so was it in for repairs during that period. Just asking cuz thats your proof that the problem was never resolved and they should still provided you with a replacement.I could be wrong but Id look into it more.

Ok, real long shot. We have several Jasjams. One of our Jasjams had an issue with a broken OK button (near the scroller). The button just stopped working altogether. Is it possible that yours has lost it's click and it keeps pressing ok, shutting the programs? If that's the case, see if it's possible to reset the function for the broken button in the settings.
Hi there, what ver of WM6 you upgraded to? the ok button theory seems true, but just tell me what WM6 did u use? did u try 1 Version only or you tried many?
if you think this is a OS problem, try upgrading to Schap's 4.22 or TNT.SE, these are the best two versions ever, i am using Schap's on my JASJAM and its just perferct wihtout flaws, try installing it and see what happens with you.

if you bought it from a legit place and haven't put any cooked roms on you should be able to get it replaced if it goes bung in the first month. the store should replace with no questions asked if there is a problem that they cant resolve..... imate also has a years warranty on new phones so you should be able to send to them and be fixed AT NO COST TO YOU (excluding postage).
suggest taking back and if they say theres no problem test b4 taking out of the shop. all the help i can give, Cheers.

So, a brand new MDA Compact, and a weird problem.
Sometimes, when I 'switch it off' via the Power button - it stayes switched off?! :?
Simple as that - the only way to turn it back on is to do a soft-reset... :shock:
The signal LED blinks just like everything is OK...
I tried with 4 different ROM combinations, from 1.06 to 1.13, nothing helped...
Does anybody have an idea what to do with it?
BTW,
which ROM did you find the most fastest, most stable etc.?

Someone must do a sticky or a FAQ topic for this sort of prob that so many people are starting to encounter.
If u do some experiment on ur compact, u can easily see that the device isn't waking up only when is COLD (I believe that there is some heat-sensible contacts inside that prevents unit to power on) this may seems strange, I thought I was the only to had this prob, but I am seeing more and more of this.
Sorry, but unless u want to manually open the whole thing and try to repair for urself, u're better getting it to the nearest repairing center.
If u do so, remember always to install the original ROM, since they can say that is a software manomission problem and will sending u back the device with no warranty (they already did it with me: but I can't believe that I regained the warranty simply putting it the original software and sending it in the same repairing center; before they asked me 275€ for mainboard, now they repaired it for free!!!)
So here is it. I've passed a winter with the unit always in coma. Send it to the repair center, say that it doesn't power on when cold and they will repair it..

Anybody have an original ROM that came with the Croatian T-Mobile MDA Compact's?
CE ROM in it was 1.06, I am sure of that, but where to find ExtROM that was used here?
As far I know, this is the only possible solve, unless someone decides to open the magician (voiding the warranty) and see what's wrong on it.. For the ROM: u have to install at least a rom with same brand and language of the original; u're better try first at the ftp before searching on the net..
hi everyone today i have noticed screen alignment problem with my t-mob mda vario 2 , it has serial number HT632xxxxxxxxxxx . it has been almost a week since i ve got it and this is the first time i have noticed it. The only difference since last night is 2 app i have installed. one is ae button plus and other one is pocket music. now i have removed them and tsting it again. will post further.
is there any one having smilar issues?

since ihave removed aebutton plus it seems fine but you know once you have seen such thing you get bit suspicious about everything.
I have also emiled developer of aeb but not sure if he will reply.
and I have also asked tmobile what would be the solution. they don't recognize screen alignmet issue as a fault yet and advised me not to belive everything on the net :S
they also won't replace device but refer me to htc. I don't know if another support guy would tell different but since I ve still got some time until free to cancel period over, if I get same problem again I will cancel my contract and stick with old wizard some time
change it.
i go back to my seller (before 15 days) dans i change it, now ht630xxx and no probleme
i have cancelled my contract with t-mobile. gprs connection was crap here

That is illegal under the 2000 amendment to the Sales of Goods and Services Act 1982. Anything that fails within the first six months after sale will be deemed to have failed at the point of sale and you have the choice of repair, replacement or refund.
but problem is, fault is very hard to demostrate. it reminded me my sony digital camera, power button wasn't responding time to time and randomly, i have sent it to sony explained whats happening. after a week i ve got reply. they were explaining how to operate cameras power button!!!
another example is today before i have cancelled my contract i was asking customer care why its almost pain to connect to internet in my area . after sendin trace and ping results via email response i ve got was:
I have received your e-mail as re your issues I have looked in to this as the software is not supported by t-mobile you would need to contact Microsoft for further support

I think that if you look in the warranty you will find that this is incorrect. If you speak to HTC and give them the IMEI, they will be able to assist you further.
I just loaded everything on my unit... and it's back to once a day misalignmnet ...!!
It could be the digitizer driver is being allocated to unstable segment of the memory. A dopod HK technician tried to replaced the digitizer and it's no use. He is waiting for the official ROM release for HK dopod 838Pro. It is still on hold here in HK.
He even mentioned that replacing the digitizer with a less responsive one (cheaper as he said) FIXES this issue. But it would be also costly for Dopod to replaced the hundreds released in Singapore. But waiting for a fix from HTC also costing them !!!
Well, it's purely marketing !!!
Please help, I recently bought the O2 XDA Flame. I had been using the device for a couple of months. As time went on the speed of the phone has deteriorated. At first i thought it was nothing, so i would restart the phone. But then came another issue, after the restart the device would take even longer respond to any command. It would just hang during phone calls also would have isseu with opening the contact etc. I even tried to Hard reset the darn thing but it would not work and would just keep hanging on me.
Please if anyone has any information it would be helpful!!!

sounds like it could be HW issue or SW as well. if it's still covered by wty better send it to SC. we don't want to void the wty right? hehehe if WMG has ROM upgrade you may want to try and upgrade it and see if problem still persist
Hi everyone.
This is my first time in xda and i am here posting because i have a problem with my htc elfin.
I bought the phone from e-bay. The seller told me it was unlocked but in fact it wasnt. It was on Orange and i had to unlock it using a program i bought on ebay (latter i saw it for free online ). The program was designed for htc elf but i was told it would work. Well, in fact it did, but i have a problem... The phone easilly loses network and even when it was network it wont make or receive calls... Texting works ok... I really dont know what to do... Can anyone help me??

Well, I hate to break the news to you, but it does kind of sound like the phone may be broken... two things you could try anyways:
a) Perform a hard-reset: Switch off your phone, keep both phone buttons pressed (green&red) and switch it on. The out-of-box state will be restored and all your data will be erased (!). So backup your contacts before doing this.
If this does not work, then it is highly likely that your phone has some sort of hardware-issue. But you may still want to try
b) Upgrade the firmware of your phone (including the radio part!). Just look around in this forum, there's basically everything you need. Always pay close attention to the how-to-guides & make sure you proceed exactly as decribed there.

I tryed what you said. Hard reset made nothing but updating rom did... I his working better but not perfect... Maybe some antena problem dont you think?

I was sitting down and cleaning my display with a fiberclouth that was in the case with the screenprotector. I was not using any hard preassure or anything.
When I was finish cleaning the touch function don`t work anymore! It does not respond to any touch, but hardware keys work perfect.
I have tryed hard reset also.
The mobile works great when I am using it trough MyMobiler with my computer.
Anybody who has experience somthing simular?
Hope the I can return it. It is under 2 months old!
Well contact HTC directly, just say your Touch screen doesn't response anymore and they should help you! I hope all goes well GL.
I had the same problem. I contacted HTC and they gave me the address of the local service center. The techician replaced the screen and the repair cost was covered by the warranty.

I have sent my device to my local service center now!
Hope they will fix it fast! How long time did you wait, and do you know what exactly they fixed?
I waited 3 days. They replaced 3 parts: SUB-ASSY, LCM, LEO.
I asked them what those parts are and they said it's complete LCD with touch panel.
Hey, yesterday i got the same problem.
Seems to be that there is an hardware-error?
I send my phone back today to get a new one, or, to get the repaired one. (last would be nice because i forgot to backup my contacts )

Sorry to tell you this, but even if it is the same phone, they're 99% sure to do a factory reset before sending it back.
Finally I got my phone back!
They have replaced the LCD, touchpanel and some small parts.
It took a while, but I bought the Nexus one after I sent my HD2 in. Funny to test it, but when I recived my HD2 yesterday, I remembered why this is my primary phone! =)
I just love the LEO!!!!
Let`s hope that this problem I and a couple of others have had is not a common hardwear problem!

It is the first time since I recived it from the repair I tryed the cam, so it must have happend there!

the flashlight doesn't work when the battery is low. after a full charge, try it again.
I have a full battery! =(
Maby I have found out something!
I downloaded a app from opnmarked, htorch is the name.
When I try opening it, I recive a error that says: Error finding the DLL or the "camera_Init" entry point: Can`t find PInvoke-DLLen HTCCamera1.dll
Anybody knows something that can help?
