hi everyone today i have noticed screen alignment problem with my t-mob mda vario 2 , it has serial number HT632xxxxxxxxxxx . it has been almost a week since i ve got it and this is the first time i have noticed it. The only difference since last night is 2 app i have installed. one is ae button plus and other one is pocket music. now i have removed them and tsting it again. will post further.
is there any one having smilar issues?
welcome to the club....
I Just hard reset mine, did not load EXT ROMs and I'm on my 3rd day now...
I justr have my pims...
let us know your experience....
since ihave removed aebutton plus it seems fine but you know once you have seen such thing you get bit suspicious about everything.
I have also emiled developer of aeb but not sure if he will reply.
and I have also asked tmobile what would be the solution. they don't recognize screen alignmet issue as a fault yet and advised me not to belive everything on the net :S
they also won't replace device but refer me to htc. I don't know if another support guy would tell different but since I ve still got some time until free to cancel period over, if I get same problem again I will cancel my contract and stick with old wizard some time
change it.
i go back to my seller (before 15 days) dans i change it, now ht630xxx and no probleme
i have cancelled my contract with t-mobile. gprs connection was crap here

That is illegal under the 2000 amendment to the Sales of Goods and Services Act 1982. Anything that fails within the first six months after sale will be deemed to have failed at the point of sale and you have the choice of repair, replacement or refund.
but problem is, fault is very hard to demostrate. it reminded me my sony digital camera, power button wasn't responding time to time and randomly, i have sent it to sony explained whats happening. after a week i ve got reply. they were explaining how to operate cameras power button!!!
another example is today before i have cancelled my contract i was asking customer care why its almost pain to connect to internet in my area . after sendin trace and ping results via email response i ve got was:
I have received your e-mail as re your issues I have looked in to this as the software is not supported by t-mobile you would need to contact Microsoft for further support
Thanks

I think that if you look in the warranty you will find that this is incorrect. If you speak to HTC and give them the IMEI, they will be able to assist you further.
I just loaded everything on my unit... and it's back to once a day misalignmnet ...!!
It could be the digitizer driver is being allocated to unstable segment of the memory. A dopod HK technician tried to replaced the digitizer and it's no use. He is waiting for the official ROM release for HK dopod 838Pro. It is still on hold here in HK.
He even mentioned that replacing the digitizer with a less responsive one (cheaper as he said) FIXES this issue. But it would be also costly for Dopod to replaced the hundreds released in Singapore. But waiting for a fix from HTC also costing them !!!
Well, it's purely marketing !!!

I've had my T-Mobile MDA Vario for around 5 months now, and its OK, but it does crash about once or twice a week (needing a soft reset), which makes it unreliable (I can't receive calls until I reset, and I don't know its crashed till I try to use it).
I also have a problem after soft resets with the alarm.
It is also a bit slow when I have a few apps running, such as Pocket Streets and Word Mobile.
Due to the crashing, it's time for a Rom update, but I'd like to stick with T Mobile for warranty reasons if I can.
Des anyone know if T-Mobile are planning on releasing an updated improved Rom for download ?
If not, what is the best Rom download recommended ?
Best Regards,
Andrew
When you say it crashes, what exactly does it do? I've had mine from T-Mobile for about the same time, a little longer maybe, and the only trouble I have is sometimes after the sync it becomes very slow, I soft reset, then it's fine, but that's it. If you're experiencing something more serious and regulalry, I'd say try to get it replaced on warranty. Maybe you're running low on memory? (if that's th case you can move a lot of stuff onto a memory card rather than keeping it on the main ram).
Regarding a ROM update, contacted them a couple of months ago and I was told that this would be announced if and when... so no set date yet it seems

It just freezes (normally it is off in standby at the time, and refuses to restart or do anything - occasionally the screen is on and freezes).
When I try and use it, nothing happens (the green phone light continues to flash, but no calls are actually received).
I got the phone unlocked through T Mobile, so I don't want a replacement (from the Carphone Warehouse), as this won't be unlocked, and I'll have all sorts of problems trying to convince T mobile to unlock it.

Vario ROM Upgrade
This will make some laugh...
I receently emailed T-Mobile customer support asking where their latest ROM upgrade for the Vairo was located..
The answer I got was "I have read your manual ... and ROM upgrades are not possible".... what a lot of use they are !
Just have to keep my eyes peeled in here...

I made a little survey to see how many people are actually experiencing the problem with their HTC Trinity touch screen. Please fill it out and spread it around to any relevant sites (forums, news pages) with people experiencing the same problems. If you run into someone experiencing the problem, let them know too
Results will be posted in this thread from time to time as well as mailed out to HTC and any news sites intrested in writing up a little article on the problem.
Here is the link

In order to get the most out of these results, please spread the word so we can get all the people experiencing the problem posting to determine how wide spread this is and try to come up with some kind of pattern.

Is there anyone who sent the P3600 for repare and get it back fixed?
I have sent it and on the website it says it is fixed but I don't know what they did yet.
I will post when they do...
BTW there is already a long post on this topic so we should keep everything together.
I've read posts of people who have sent their units in only to get them back with the same problems. I hope that's not the case with yours srk. The reason I posted this on a different post is to post the results in the main message of the survey. If there are a large number of users exhibiting the problem, then it's obviously a large scale defect. If that's the case, I don't think people should have to pay anything to HTC to get the problem fixed.

How can i DELETE THIS post?
I hope to get in touch with HTC before they send my unit back make sure it is fixed before receiving but we will see how it goes. Since I have a magician in hand I am not in a hurry to get it back.
I will post as soon as I hear a response from them.
Added a few more entries to the report in the first post of this thread. Please keep spreading the word so we can get a large number to HTC so they can hopefully aknlowedge the problem.
Srk: Did you get in touch with HTC to find out if they actually found and fixed the problem on your device?
I sent another email to HTC Europe support, got a response back that they haven't heard about this problem and to hard reset, talk about BS!
Haha they haven't heard of this problem????
How can they say they fixed mine then.... Anyways still haven't heard from them but I am planning to give them the link for the other post here on the forum...
I am pretty sure they just hard resetted my phone and install the newly released rom. But I told them the problem occurs after or during a long phone call so I hope they will check that.
well I got the good news today, see below.
My problem statement was different than what it says below but its ok.... BTW this was in HTC UK.
Hi,
The problem with the phone was a defective main board which has now been replaced.
Once testing is complete your phone will be dispatched.

Cool, please post if they actually fixed it when you get it, read from some other users who got the same response that they got the unit back "with a replacement main board" with the same problem.
Though if it is a defective main board and a large number of users are complaining about it, I don't think it's fair that they are charging people out of warrenty to pay for something that was initially defective in the first place and didn't start appearing until after the warrenty period.

Yes this will be my argument if they want me to pay but I hope It won't come to that
good news to everyone that opened their phone already...
I had opened my phone (I did rip the sticker) and I had installed the Dopod GPS rom before sending it to them and they shipped the phone back to me today without asking for a payment.... So I guess it is still covered with their waranty
So I guess they know about this problem but just don't make it public, because I had prepared myself for a large bill already...
Hello,
I got the same pb with my SPV M700, the french Orange version of the HTC Trinity after 2 months.
Orange replaced it last week... and the new one is doing the same thing since yesterday !!
I just figured out this could be the USB cable, since I realised I had trouble with another USB device !
This may help some of you who, like me, use an "old" USB cable, that may be responsible for provoking damage to the phone motherboard.
I should have my new Trinity by tomorrow and let you know about it.
Another thing I figured out : my first trinity started to blink after I installed the bassfix patch. Did you also have it installed on your Trinity ???

Dear XDA Forum members,
Need you help . I purchased a new Imate JASJAM after few days of using the PPC , i noticed a strange thing happening on my phone. All the application just closes automatically . when i open any apps it just closes within seconds , i am just able to receive calls and no other functions work . I took it to the imate service center couple of times now but after they handed over the phone to me , the problem persists after using the phone for 2 days . It seems very strange to me . Request your help/suggestion and solution to control this problem so that i can use the PPC again without any problems
What did the service center tell you was wrong with it?
And have you tried just doing a system restore?
Hi,
The service center restored my mobile device from WM6 to WM5 as it was not compatible, earlier they thought it was an software issue and then the hard ware was also checked but to no avail. after sometime of working on the ppc , the programs just closes immediately within seconds of opening.
It should run WM6 just fine, they also have a wm6 rom for your device so that should tell you somthing.
sounds like they didnt know what was wrong with it.
Tell them your unhappy with it and you want a replacment, thats if u havent unlocked it>
Or maybe someone else here willl reply with a better solution.
To me though it sounds faulty
Seems your not the only one with issues with this phone
did a quick google search
Well the phone is not under any warranty , checked lots of links in google but never helped . Just hopes somebody comes out with a solution . Already have paid enough for service of the phone at the service center .....pls help

If you got the phone from a legit source it should have had some type of warrenty at one time. And if so was it in for repairs during that period. Just asking cuz thats your proof that the problem was never resolved and they should still provided you with a replacement.I could be wrong but Id look into it more.
anyways hope you get this resolved...Good luck

Ok, real long shot. We have several Jasjams. One of our Jasjams had an issue with a broken OK button (near the scroller). The button just stopped working altogether. Is it possible that yours has lost it's click and it keeps pressing ok, shutting the programs? If that's the case, see if it's possible to reset the function for the broken button in the settings.
Hi there, what ver of WM6 you upgraded to? the ok button theory seems true, but just tell me what WM6 did u use? did u try 1 Version only or you tried many?
if you think this is a OS problem, try upgrading to Schap's 4.22 or TNT.SE, these are the best two versions ever, i am using Schap's on my JASJAM and its just perferct wihtout flaws, try installing it and see what happens with you.
jasjam warranty
if you bought it from a legit place and haven't put any cooked roms on you should be able to get it replaced if it goes bung in the first month. the store should replace with no questions asked if there is a problem that they cant resolve..... imate also has a years warranty on new phones so you should be able to send to them and be fixed AT NO COST TO YOU (excluding postage).
suggest taking back and if they say theres no problem test b4 taking out of the shop. all the help i can give, Cheers.
I saw on few websites people complained about this issue. Well some of them at least.
Does anyone has a slightest idea if this is a hardware or software issue?
I tried hard restarting the phone - nothing happens.
When i insert the headphones, nothinghappens. I installed that toggleheadset program, and all it does it enables me to hear sound through headset, but when i try skipping the song from the headset button, it does nothing.
Also, trackball backlight and button lights are out.
Its a 2 days old phone, i dont like the facts that i will give them a 2 days old phone to repair and then get it back. I bought the new phone...
Anyone has an idea? Is there any chance that this new software patch will fix this?
thanks in advance
well, first of all, report the problem to HTC....most people seem to complain on forums, but not to HTC, so it leaves an impression of a problem affecting only a few people, when it's not :/
second, i can only quote what they answered me:
We have received very, very few queries regarding the issue you are facing, so I thank you for taking the time in reporting it to us.
For the above reason, I can not confirm if a software fix is on its way, and indeed if HTC will play a part in this release. I have taken the liberty of passing this issue on to our developers for their consideration.
Thanks for your answer.
Actually i did contact HTC, out of the same reason you stated here. and here is what ive got:
Dear valued HTC customer,
Thank you for contacting our Customer Support Center. We are dedicated to providing you with the best quality service and answering all of your questions and concerns.
We would recommend you to hard reset your device. If this does not help please contact us in order to book your phone into repair .
If the above steps do not resolve your issue, we invite you to visit the support area on our Web site. Please go to: http://www.htc.com/www/support.aspx
i would just like to know if its a software or hardware issue.. but seems to me that its hardware.. not sure though..
i think it's software, otherwise that Toggle wouldn't do anything, what i don't get is why hard resets don't help....thought maybe there was something on the original SD card and formatting/changing it maybe lost us something important, but that seems unlikely :/
Mine got sent back to HTC over a week ago apparently they are INVESTIGATING!
why this stops T Mobile from giving me a replacement is a *&^&**^%$ mystery to me !
will bell them this week ....................ON MY OLD VIEWTY .......to get an update
I did sent mine back to the reseller here in Netherlands. Within two days I got a brand new one.
Everything seems to be working allright but the issue appeared three days after I turned it on so now is my second day. Fingers crossed tomorrow.......
Good luck. I think HTC received a lot complaints about this issue last week. I heard my reseller said they had three broken Hero's last week.
Its a hardware fault with a board that connects to the main PCB. Send it back for a refund/replacement. You shouldnt have to go the waranty route since it was obviously faulty when you got it. Even if it happened after 2 days, 2 weeks, 2 months or 6 months, it should not fail that quickly. The law is on your side.
I'm pretty sure HTC know about this problem since its all over the net now!
Hi, a few weeks I have x8. From the first day I noticed that both his work and touch began to do what you will, that is not where it reacts a touch of disparate places, open your applications which are not adequate to the touch with my finger. To do so, leave a screen with power button and still enable him to become adequate. Began to happen more often, sometimes even after the first minute. How to fix a similar problem? Defect Is? I do not believe any of that is rooted because as I said from day one I made such an impression, even while he was in Android 1.6. The time now is with 2.1 and continues to behave the same way.
Wove problem still is present! Even after a master reset and recover with PC Companion. Everything is back to original i rooted it again, etc. but inadequate behavior of touch is their stay.
How to deal with such a problem any idea?
Sorry for my english. I used google translate.

I just feel that you have a factory defective phone.. maybe it is better to check via SE tech. Hope they will accept the warranty.. Goodluck
And I think the problem is the factory. I talked to the shop from where I bought it and they said they would send him to repair (though the phone is 10 days). I hope to fix the problem because their problem.

I hope so.. , if they didn't fix hopefully they will change your unit for better one.. keep your finger cross
better ask for a new one, you bought a new phone, not a repaired one...
me too i had a problem with touchscreen. I sent my phone to SE for repairing in warranty on 5 April, now i don't have it yet
A months ago my phone had another problem with the radio (gsm and 3g) and SE repaired it in 2 weeks
