I had a problem and I suspected it was due to the updated PRL. The latest ROM update contained 60610 and the one on my phone was 60611. I noticed that the rom updates come with a cab that looks like it updates the PRL. I put the rom on a microsd card and ran it from the phone. It installed the PPST program to my phone. I then went to the windows directory and there was a ppst executable there, along with the PRL file, named 60611.prl . (You will also see this name in the xml file in the cab) I ran PPST,and it installed the PRL and prompted me to reboot. After reboot it reprovisioned the data services and the phone now shows 60611.
Be carefull doing this however,I dont know how to get back to 60611. Presumably sprint can make this happen, but I think they think I have the latest PRL. It prompted me to upgrade the last time I called sprint,so I doubt it will do it again.
alternative method...
just dial ##prl# (##775#) and enter your 6 digit msl # which you can get from sprint easily if you don't have it (tell them you did a factory reset and have to reprogram). Then click on prl, edit and you can put in whatever prl you want. I download mine from corolada.com/prl and it works fine.
Alltel Update
Or if you have an Alltel 6800 or 6700 you would dial ##775 then enter all 0s a total of 6 of them then tap on the PRL and select menu and then edit then browse your phone for the prl file, of course you would have to obtain the prl file first which you can search around as mentioned before to get them or if you get lucky you might be able to get an Alltel Tech Rep to send you the file but they aren't supposed to so again you would have to be kind of lucky to get it from them.

Here's how to get your MSL Unlock Code to edit the settings found under "Dialer Codes" (##code#)#) mentioned earlier.
0. Download GetSPC
http://www.5gmobile.us/mobilefiles/VX6800/GetSPC.zip (if this link doesn't work then try googling "GetSPC" or checking the download section)
Instructions:
1. Unzip and copy the extracted GetSPC folder (with all 3 files) to the storage card on your device.
2. Write down the ESN (Hex) number found behind the battery.
3. Power up and run the 'GetSPC(PPC 2003)' executable on your device.
4. In the 'Input' field, enter the ESN number you wrote down but be sure to use ALL CAPITOLS for the alpha values. (Ex: 123ABCD4, not 123abcd4)
5. Hit the 'Go' button. The value in the 'Output' field will be your "Unlock Code".
I was under the impression Titan/Mogul users didn't use the 2003... we used the other since we are running WM5 or higher

This will run fine with WM5 and WM6 just run it off you phone i use this to find it my code and it will work trust me
I've already done it but I used the non 2003 one.
I just called *2 and asked for it. Simply said I was doing a software upgrade and needed it in case something went wrong.
Thanks a lot for this little program! I flashed the ROM on my mogul tonight, and didn't have the unlock code for the ESPT. I found this post and it worked perfectly on my sprint phone.
thanks!

no problem
thanks for this
I'm actually glad you posted this. This would have helped me out a couple days ago when I was searching frantically for getSPC and couldn't remember the name. Did you know if you search for msl on here and ppcgeeks, you get no results? I eventually found it on some random forum in the middle of nowhere.
lol next time type in search MSL
meh, I really didn't think caps would make a difference. Ya live, ya learn
Yeah, I've done it both ways and I don't know which is quicker...
Just call and say you are dropping calls and want to reprogram your phone, they will start by telling you the MSL
Weird issue. I used GetSPC and got my MSL. It worked, i changed the RevA setting. I've upgraded to the 3.35 ROM. I've installed some other apps as well, but now my MSL isn't working. Getting the unlock code failed message? Anyone know what could be causing this?
I'm having a error message that pops up also. I did is instructed by the instructions and the error message is: Could not link to DLL. Anyone knows what causes this?
Very much appreicated
thanks for the help this actually works thanks!!!!!
glad to see this here ,a long time ago ,i found this everywhere, none.it is very useful ! thanks!
I't didn't work on my mogul. help.....
case SENSITIVE and unzip both the dll file and the exe to the same place
didn't it come with this in the zip?
"all you need to do is find your HEX ESN (under the battery on the sticker)
Extract to a folder on your device, then run the exe (not the 2003 one)
Put in your ESN and SHAZAM! theres ur MSL"
yea i did that. i got a 6 digit number and when i entered it it still said it wasnt the right unlock code.
Sprint MSL
Are they not all just "000000"
Does anyone know of a tool which can extract the PRL from a phone? I use a non-us provider and when upgrading my ROM it always shows that I am roaming, when I am not, this causes problems with email retreival as it always asks for permission to connect.
Thanks.
I recently ported my number to sprint but before then I changed the rom on my vogue and now the code the customer rep gave me to change the MDN and MSID don't work. How can I change my MDN and MSID now?
I would flash it with the standard Sprint ROM, set up the phone settings, then flash the ROM back to whatever one you want.
No wait don't do that yet. Try this. Put this program and .dll file on your phone, in my documents perhaps. Now run GetSPC, enter the ESN hex # with any letters in CAPS and hit "go" and it should give you the spc. Now hit "talk" and put in ##******# (****** being the 6 digit # u get from GetSPC) and then go to edit. U should be able to change them from there
have you tried ##402535# and then edit?

The easiest way (at least for me) is to change all this stuff via WM. Just flash NFSFan's rom and change this via PST programming. Once you are done, flash back to Android.
I am running NFSFan's WM6.5 rom and am having the same issue. I cannot activate my phone because it will not take the "##*****#" code from sprint.
egzthunder1 recommended using PST programming but I am not sure what that means.

If you are using NFS, you will find a folder under the Start Menu that is called Phone Codes. The dialer in NFS is skinned if memory serves me well, which means that the ##.. codes will not work.

When trying this, I get an error message that says that GetSPC.exe is not a valid Win32 application.
I flashed my touch with the Sprint ROM on the HTC site. It updated the radio version to 3.42. I then flash the phone again to NFS V12. Now I try to enter the SPC code to change the PRL. I GET AN ERROR MESSAGE, stating the SPC is incorrect... What happened? Does the change of radio also mess with the SPC?
The Sprint update (probably the customizations) can change the SPC.
Use the program below on your phone to get the sprint spc code.

>> I had to remove the links; this site wouldn't allow it even though the links are in the post I am answering too??<<<<
I followed the direction exactly as written. Got the getspc and put it on the phone; went to file explorer and opened it. Entered the MEID HEX number ( under the Battery ) all in Caps in the upper window and the number generated in the lower window when I enter it still gives me the wrong code entered warning??
The phone is a HTC Touch Pro and the carrier is Sprint. I bought it from a *&&^% on Ebay and when I told him I couldn't get into the SPC to setup the phone he wasn't very pleasant person.
In fact he claimed to be with sprint and said the phone is unlocked due to him flashing "MightyRom" on it?
I told him then wouldn't he had needed the spc to unlock the phone in the begining and what is the spc he used; no answer...
Any help is greatful and if I can't get it the spc I'll have to try to get my money back from this guy..

@bullwhacker,
The SPC is not needed to unlock the device. The SPC or MSL is a number that you use to access the phone's programming (changing PRL, MIN, MSD, etc). If your device came with Mighty on it, it is unlocked as no custom roms can be flashed if it isn't.
I just want to share my experience with you. I had to change my phone number thus required a PRL reprogram. Because I am running the latest NFSROM with WM6.5, the instructions from Bell (in Canada) would not work. Someone on this forum said that he had to revert to the original firmware from Bell and then flash back. However, I found the way to do it with out reverting back or even a hard reset:
-Run PST program under \Windows
-Choose edit and Enter your lock code (call MST). This should have been given to you on the Bell instruction. I heard the Verizon one is 000000. For Spring you can find the getpst program.
-Change the MSID to your new phone number on the default Display page.
-Change the Mobile Directory Number (MDN) on the NAM page to your new number as well.
-Make sure that all other relate fields i.e. MINs, MMC, MNC, NMSI, IMSI ... is correct. They should be changed automatically after you change the MSID and the MDN number.
-Quit the program. It will ask if you want to reset the phone. Say yes.
At this point, your phone should work. However, the aGPS might not be working. You will get fix via the internal GPS but it will take a long time because aGPS is not working properly. If this happen, install the Bell Carrier Cab here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3680840#post3680840
I imaging the procedure is very similar on other carriers.
You are a life saver! THANK YOU!
