Hi everyone. I have searched a lot in the forums and even though I found a few threads that raised this question, none of them provided a solution, so here's the question yet again.
Is it possible in Windows Mobile (I have 6) to have something like a pulsating vibrate while a ringtone is playing??
I tried fiddling with the script in the registry HKCU\Control Panel\Sounds\ringtone0\script, but couldn't get it to do what I wanted. The best I could manage was a repetitive vibrate without ringtone, and the repeat couldn't be less than 1 second.
Does anyone know of ANY way of having pulsating vibrate while ringtone is playing, be it a comercial program, or a registry setting, or something like mortscript????
Does no one have any suggestions like where to look either?
Bump.
I'd like to know this too

I searched and cannot find the answer I am looking for... Hope I am posting in the right forum for this particular topic.
Anyway - I recently flashed my ROM to DCD's 3.1.2. I missed a step in the process and ended up with a Sprint phone for a day or two before I had time to switch back.
One thing I REALLY liked about the Sprint version was that when I had the phone set to vibrate and I got a text message or email, it gave two or three quick little vibrations... Now, after flashing properly, my vibration notifications are what they were with Verizon's stock ROM - an extremely long and loud vibration that draws more attention in a meeting than if I had the sound on!!
Any ideas on how to change the vibration back to what the Mogul has? I really like the quick and quiet vibrations.
Thanks!
Nobody? Should I have posted this in the Upgrading forum instead?
Just in case I didn't post clearly: When in vibrate mode and receiving a text, email, phone call, etc., on my Verizon xv6800 with DCD's 3.1.6 rom, I am getting one long buzz that is quite embarrassing while sitting in a meeting.
What I am looking for is to have it give two or three quick buzzes. I don't want a program to do this - I want to know if anybody has a registry hack or even a CAB file they have developed for this???
Like I said originally - when I accidentally flashed with Sprint's customizations, I got the three quick buzzes...
Anybody know the registry difference between Sprint's customizations and DCD's or Verizon's that causes this long buzz???
Thanks!
Ok - that's weird that you get a long buzz on a vibrating text notification. I'm using an XV-6800 with the stock ROM and get three short vibrations when I get a text message or e-mail notification.

this has been covered before. First, you need a registry editor, as one does not come on our phones. I use PHM Regedit. Navigate here from within the regeditor:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VIB]
Edit the following:
"STRENGTH_LOW"=dword:00000000 (click on the name and change the "value data:" to 0)
wait 10 seconds or so, soft reset, and problem solved!
btw, PHM regedit can be found here if you need it: http://www.phm.lu/downloads/download.aspx?{940B734A-C437-41C7-ADED-2A4418802FD3}
i highly recommend you use the desktop installer to ensure you get the correct version on your phone.

Hey All,
I've been having this problem with inordinately long vibrations as well. (Sprint Mogul, running 20270)
I went to make the change mentioned in the previous post, and it's already set to 0. Does anyone else have any other ideas?
Note this is the vibrate that occurs when sound is *on* not off... I want to be able to get a vibration in addition to the sound for when I'm in a loud location.
Any help is greatly appreciated
I agree. I hate the extremely long/loud vibrate notification and would love to know how to change it?!

I can confirm this fix working on the VZW XV6800.
works
yes, it shortens it...however, its still 3 short bursts....I wish it could be 1 quick bzzz...
Maybe it's just me but the sound when i change the volume of the diamond freaks me out... especially when i'm listening music with earplugs and i just wanna do it a little more louder it disturbs me.
Is there a way to make them go away? Maybe just erase the soundfiles? If yes, can somebody please tell me where i can find them?
pls help me
You can disable the 'sound beeps while changing volume' by using Diamond Tweak.
Thanks a lot for helping me fixing my problem...
I installed diamond tweak already but i did not find a tweak for fixing my prob.
I have Installed the 0.5 version is there a newer one? I couldn't find one in the internet so far...
Tweak # 1.5 in Diamond Tweak.
But it is only for in call beeps as the description says. Still you can try it. Sorry if it doesnt help.
still have this issue on Wm6.5 energyrom phoenix 2
I cannot disable the volume change sound.
Tried looking for wav files, tried using advancedtweak (And other tweak programs).
I can only get them to shut off when in a call. I want them to be disabled forever. Any solution ideas
Same here. I have looked in the registry and I can't find anything about the volume beep not incall.
i was looking for the same thing and the only solution i found was to install another volume control app
S2U2 includes a silent volume control that works perfectly
Hi,
When browsing the HD2 forums (I'm gonna get one in a few days, yay!) I found this:
75. Disable Beeps When Altering Volume
When you press the volume key you getting annoying beeps. This tweak allows to change the volume silently without the beeps.
HKCU\ControlPanel\Volume\Mute Change from 3 to 1.
It worked on my TP so I assume it'll work on you Diamond to.
Cheers,

Just tested on Topaz and it works like a charm
So simple
Cheers for that mate
Take care
actually tested it and it's wrong
what it does is disables events, reminders and sets notifications to silent
maybe it works on Leo but not on Topaz
Hi all,
Wondered if anybody knows the location of a sound file I'm looking for and haven't been able to find ?
I have Best Reminder installed and have set Alert-Soft as it's reminder tone, and have also set this sound in Settings-Sounds & Notifications-Notifications, as my alert tone for missed calls, new sms, mms, email etc.
So when a new sms arrives for example, windows should make the Alert-Soft sound once, which it does, then Best Reminder should make the sound every X seconds as specified, but everytime the reminder sounds, windows is playing an extra sound as well, I have attached rough recordings of the two so you can hear the difference.
I think windows is playing this because of the missed calls popup it's displaying everytime the sound is played, so I either want to turn off the popup, which would be preferable but I think impossible, or extract the sound file and replace it with a silent version.
The only way I can find to stop it is by unchecking Notifications (alarms, reminders), but this also turns off all other notification sounds, so there is no initial sound when a sms, mms, email arrives, which is obviously no good.
Any help you can give me will be much appreciated.
Thanks Dave.
Found a solution to this in case anyone else is interested :
The file making the sound is \Windows\Alarm2.wav and is also used by some of my other apps, so I didn't want to make it silent.
So I made a silent wave file e.g. I called mine Silent.wav, and place it in \Windows.
Then edit the following registry key HKCU\Control Panel\Notifications\Default\Wave
By default it's set to \Windows\Alarm2.wav so you just need to change the string value to point to the empty sound file \Windows\Silent.wav, and job done.
As far as I can tell this only changes the sound used for notification popups, I've tried all the other apps I use that use Alarm2.wav and they still use it ok.
Hello,
This is the closest thing I could find to an answer to my issue:
I want never to hear the sound "alarm2.wav" again. I hate it. Every time I want to soft reset, every time i want to add a calendar event from email to my calendar (sometimes i have to do like 20 in a row, and i hear that god-awful sound every time) every time any pop-up notifier message appears.
I changed the value for HKCU\Control Panel\Notifications\Default\Wave
to \windows\quietest.wav
In fact I went to all the settings and changed anything that was alarm2.wav to something else...
But to no avail. I cannot replace the file with another "alarm2.wav" as this is a ROM file and cannot be edited. I am so surprised that this has proved to be such a challenge! I have been able to customize so many things, I never would have anticipated so much difficulty in changing a simple sound
Hi Guys, I'm looking for some help
When I receive an SMS the phone vibrates for a good 3 seconds or so, after the alert tone has finished. Is there a way to reduce the duration of the vibrate? I've done a forum search and a few people mentioned registry values (V3 = vibrate for 3 secs etc) but I've had no joy in locating them. What I want is like an old style mobile phone, you get an SMS, the alert and vibrate start and stop at the same time.
I'd even settle for a 3rd party app (although I read about one which disables the hardware buttons!) I've tried different alert tones and different sound profiles but none give me the desired effect.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
also looking for this,
it is waisting battery and is irritating.
