it was buggin me how the icons for the slideshow in portrait mode of the album overlapped each other and just in general looked like garbage so i remade, resized and reconfigured it to fit for portrait mode without altering landscape mode, just download, unzip then place all the files into your \Windows directory then delete the file "ha_skin_cache_p" from your \Windows directory and perform a soft reset

No matter what .tsk file I use, when I use the option in the settings to display image as baccground. It's always grayed out which seriously makes the pic look crappy. I know I can just use a load of different .tsk files but I don't want to do it that way. I want to be able to change the baccgroud pic at anytime with having it smoked out with some gray transparent layer.
Is the a registry hacc I can do to stop it?
I don't know if there is a registry hack but at least, there is a workaround. Instead of using the today applet to select your background picture, you can use the Pictures & Videos app. Select the picture you like, there is a menu item to set a the selectted picture asToday background just set the transparency level at 0% and you are set
Thanks. Works perfectly.
Glad I helped, but actually you got me thinking. So, I tried to figure out if there was not a way of setting the transparency level via a registry hack as you suggested. I didn't find anything because it's not stored in registry.
What actually happens when you choose a background picture is that wm5 creates 2 pictures (stwater_240_320 and stwater_320_240) in the \windows folder. So instead of relying on the today applet or on the pictures and videos app, what you could do is delete these 2 pictures, then copy your homemade pictures in the \windows folder and rename theme to the above mentionned names. It should let us have a different image when in landscape mode instead of a cropped one. The 240_320 has to be 240x268 and the 320x240 340x188. Why 268 and 188 instead of 320 and 240 ? Because the taskbar and the menubar are 26 pixels wide and (2x26) + 268 = 340 !
Is there any way to have HTC Album refresh more often so that removed files are actually "removed" from the thumbnail view quicker? Also, is there a way to not have every file you click on show up in the thumbnail view? example: clicking on a image file anywhere opens in HTC Album and then it is "stuck" in the thumbnail view.
I have taken utmost care to minimized any unused space making the screen(qvga) compact & optimized but not conjested and in aligning of text and icons (32x32 & 35x35) for portrait and 32x32 for landcape .
All portrait more is 4x4 And lanscape mode is 5x5.For portrait mode choose either of the 32x32 or 35x35.
Copy to windows, overwrite and reset.
Hey dudes,
im not sure if this has already been covered... but if it has, hopefully it will be a pretty simple fix.
so, using HTC Album on my HD2... when viewing the tiled thumbnail screen i can rotate my device and the menu/display adjusts accordingly between landscape and portrait. however, when i view an image and tap the screen i only get the image menu displayed in landscape mode.
i have attached an image (copied from this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=279268&d=1265816180) which shows my problem pretty clearly.
the image menu is displayed as shown, whether im in portrait or landscape mode.
im hoping there is a portrait version of the image menu, along the bottom of the portrait screen (im only asking because i had a ported version of HTC Album on my Omnia, and it had both portrait and landscape menus).
any help is greatly appreciated.
cheers.
Hi
Anyone know how to mod the News and Weather widget (genie apk) to not show pictures?
Im using an already modded widget (transparent)
and it looks lush on a black wallpaper, problem is that the pictures are lowish res and just take the shine off the overall look.
is it possible to stop them from showing somehow?
if anyone could point me in the right direction i would be most pleased.
thanks everyone
you could try editing the .png files inside.
pull it from the phone
open the .apk with and .zip program
look for the relevant .png files
replace each pic with a 1x1pixel transparent .png
push back to phone
if the alignment is out then you will have to use transparent .png images that are the same size as the originals. this will however leave a gap on the left of the widget that is empty (where the pics were)
