hi fellows: this is great news that I haved upgraded a rom of 128mb.is this fantastic news? the public is interested in Beasty & Laurentius 2.08.01 for a few of reasons but recenty users have became a member of 128MB rom.
with coming regret as well as pleasures, looking for 128 rom is a painful thing really
l spend many time in last night finding out a easy way that you devices upgrade 128MB rom conveniently
this method followed
1. you must firstly flash a original rom of 128mB ,which is most important to total course. do not forget this step.
2 you may now download Beasty & Laurentius 2.08.01 rom.
you do not distill any part ,such as the nk_nbf document ,into other tools of flashing rom. keeping the rom integrated ,please use tools offered by Laurentius to upgrade you d900 .
3.when you rom are upgraded, anytime you do not stick a position of reset.you ought to use software of reset to operate you loved device or else you device are not able to display 112MB in memory and to identify two chips of 128MB. meaning you work failed

Anyone can confirm this is real?
What devices does this work on? Beast and Leo works on Universals, but I really doubt that there is anyway you can make a Universal have 128Mb of RAM just by flashing.

I am sure...........................
Will these work on wizard

Luochao, I'm not 100% sure what your saying here. Beast and Leo haven't updated their ROM yet to make full use of the 128MB RAM. (This is achieved by unsoldering the two 32MB chips and replacing with two 64MB chip(128MB total) I'm curious have you already done this upgrade procedure? If you have, have you managed to patch Beast and Leos ROM to make full use of the 128MB RAM upgrade. At the moment their ROM will only make use of 64MB of the 128MB RAM available.
HI guy
HI guy.as fas as you concerned , please allow me to explain that my device already upgraded ram of 128 by the masterhand of hardware.this important step necessitates following works.
then my gear can upgrade rom of memory of 112MB by Laurentius rom. are there questions for guy.I am sure this methods will be useful.
I hear that someone ask me performances of ram of 112 MB, I do not extoll my device .many applications installed in 900 witness great and obvious improvements of functioning. when d900 operates in 20 applications. my gear still keep 60MB . IS this a supposedly miracle .hoho.
if you had chances .you ought to upgrade ram. you may experience dramaticly idiosyncrasies.

Great, I see that you have upgraded the RAM to 128MB, I'm still not quite sure how you managed to get Beast and Leos 2.08.01 ROM to recognise the full 128MB of RAM. Did you download mamaichs ROM and extract the patch and apply it to the 2.08.01 ROM?
I would also like to install 2.08.01 but not sure of what all I need to do.

Just want to do a quick survey on who's using what and whether people take a risk on using a customised ROM, as for me, I just couldn't take the risk on something I don't really know about.
Advise on why you do what you do welcomed.
What additions does a cooked one give that installing progs cant?
I'm still waiting for some interesting cooked roms before I think about flashing it. I think further down the line I'll probably use a cooked rom but for now the stock rom with a few extra cabs suits me.
I'll stay for now at stock rom... In my personal case I find it working flawless with every bit of software I use.
Maybe in the future, when stock soft became obsolete, I'll update to a cooked rom, like I've done in my S200 (WM5.0 > WM6.1 )
i like to have cooked roms. i usually dont even use the phone till i flash a cooked rom. lol. rom and phone junkie. its in my veins.
I would have to agree, Stock Rom untill updates are no longer made then on to the cooked roms.
Was the same with my universal O2 stopped updates at WM5 if i remember correctly but then cooked roms offered WM5 aku 2 and then WM6 and now WM6.1. Love this site and all developers here. Keep up the good work.

The first few things would be speed and storage space. Cooked rom "normally" removed junks and lots of unnecessary files/drivers/service which would speed up overall speed and performance. e.g. My lite rom would have 380+ mb space left compare 1xx mb in stock. I didn't do SPB benchmark on stock but I had post the benchmark of my rom in the thread.
On full rom w/ software that pre-installed and tailored to what you need lessen the time and space to backup since rom files are skipped w/ backup software.

Yes jackleung, I saw your custom rom, it is very interesting yet, I really did not dare to do it fearing it your brick me device
And maybe I'm still waiting for more flexibility in the custom roms available?
I didn't know what to choose, cos I am not sure whether you were actually asking about the ROMs or the whole process of installing hardspl and another ROM (your first post). I checked stock ROM at the end, because that is what I use, but I had to flash my German Xperia with english ROM.
Yep, that was a right choice.
I'm still thinking about flashing. With my Trinity I used custom roms mainly because of the limited memory of the device. this isn't a problem with the x1 at all. I can run all kinds of programs simultaneously without getting any speeding problems. So I'm not sure if it would be a good idea to flash ...
You dont get any lag at all?
Lucky you, I still get slow downs with certain things. :|
well, it depends on the program. but slowdowns like on my trinity are gone. maybe it has something todo with the expectations one has in the device ...
cooked roms here on xda are far way better than original stock roms.
hi, guys....
i am new to the device htc 7510... but still get to purchase 1 regardless of my noob.... can some one explain to my what is hard spl, spl 3.5 and how to back up the roms and how to flash it and the purpose of flashing it... is it possible to change the os... to some other os, example linux or xp? lol... able to upgrade the ram? anyway to speed up the 7510? it is quite laggy with the default os... i still have a hundred question but i will be really thankful if anyone ans my question about these.. thanks....
anyone on christmas mood? lolz..z
thanks
loneice
Think of spl 3.5 as a modification to the file system, which allows a larger operating system to run. First used by the AP4 rom and still the only way to get it, if you want to try other roms that require 3.5. No you can't upgrade the ram except by adding a large SD card. You'll need to read up on many threads on this board to see how to unlock and reflash your Athena.
Hi there!
Today I've bought an xda exec with the following specs:
Rom: 1.13.82 WWE
Radio: 1.04.02
RAM: 64MB
What is the recommended update to the ROM and Radio I can do?
Thanks in advance!
Best regards!

That's an old O2 ROM. The latest (last!) original XDA EXEC ROM from O2 can be found here.
Then there's an ocean of home-cooked ROMs, mostly WM6.x (you gain A2DP and other features but lose on video calling).

Welcome to Uni forum (gosh, I sound just like Orb2000 now ) Actually, make it ORB3000!!!! There, much better!
While we cannot recommend a particular ROM and Radio combination, your device comes with standard features, so pretty much anything that takes your fancy and is suitable for your device in this section would be perfect for the taking. The first thing you should do is read the Wiki, it contains loads of necessary information to help you identify your device and its features for the upgrade purposes and avoid any mistakes or pitfalls. Then you can familiarize yourself with available ROMs and read user opinions and feedback on their performance and features. Generally the best performers will be found on top of the WM6.1 upgrade section marked as a Sticky. Finally, once you get to know all you need and are ready to upgrade, you will be able to try some out and select the one that has the best combination of features FOR YOU. As far as Radio is concerned, there is no fast and steady rule for a perfect combo, some developers will recommend the Radio to be used with their ROM, some users will suggest what works for them, you can always try various versions (ftp server is your friend) and see which will work best for you.
Best of luck. Enjoy!
Thanks!
I've already read lot's of information on wiki for universal...
Already unlocked the "sim lock" and just updated the radio to the last one (1.18.00). Before the universal, I had an Magician (still have it, and working great with the WM 6.1 by cotulla).
I've read about the G3 and bootloader, but didn't understand how to update the bootloader (my universal have 1.00 version)... What is that for?
Also, I will try the WM6.5 ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=529951 because read 'bout that and like it... just one question.. it the 6.1 better than the 6.5? If I change the rom to 6.5 can I change back to any other, inclusive the 6.1 rom?
Thanks!

6.1 ROMs are more developed and used, therefore will be more stable and practical in everyday usage. Another thing is available resources, e.g. 6.5 ROMs tend to be on resource-hungry side, therefore those of us with standard 64Mb machines will not get as much free RAM or speed in some cases available to run our favorite programs as those with devices upgraded to 128Mb. You can try 6.5, of course, just note the above points. And of course you will be able to downgrade to other 6.1 or shipped ROMs.

whats the whole point of FLASH. i want to do that to my phone but what will it do to the phone. can someone explain to me about FLASH.
Are you talking about flashing a ROM? If so the point is to get the newest or most stable build of WinMo.
Go to the ROM section and start reading the stickies. If you have a T-Mob HD2 you will want to pay particular attention to what ROM you do flash. There are two versions of the HD2, the European version on the T-Mobile version. The T-Mob version has a full gig of internal memory and a 1 gig processor while the European version only has 512 of memory and a smaller processor. If you make the mistake of flashing the wrong ROM onto the wrong phone you have an expensive paper weight.
yeah im talking about flashing rom. does this help the phone on working fast?
yes it does.

Sorry to correct you, but the Tmous has also 576MB RAM instead of 1024MB RAM, the European version does have 448MB RAM default, but after flashing a Tmous radio the ram can be unlocked so i has also 576MB RAM. I think you are meaning ROM instead of RAM
For me it's the RAM / Random Access Memory that counts since it's the memory you need to use in operation in contrary to ROM / Read Only Memory which is only needed to store your OS/Bootloader etc.
And cpu wise they got the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8250B chipset/cpu running @ 1Ghz.
Ow and TS, if you are asking yourself what a FLASH is ? please don't try it if you got zero knowledge/understanding/informing yourself about flashing (be it pc,psp,hd2 etc.) that won't be such a good idea
Take a look at these threads:
Flashing a ROM (International HD2)
Flashing a ROM (TMOUS HD2)
Flashing a new Radio ROM
Complete HD2 guide for flashing (Video's included)
It's a lot to go over, but if you are going to flash your device I highly recommend you know what you are doing. A mistake can mean a very expensive paperweight.
To answer you question on the "whole point" thing..
There are several reasons one might want to flash their device.
I flashed hspl2 at first because I didn't like T-Mobil's lame pink pre-bootscreen. Then more recently I flashed a new Radio ROM.
Many (perhaps most) people flash "cooked" ROMs built by other members of xda (or themselves) which include their favorite apps, tweaks, themes, lockscreens, etc. already built into the ROM. Custom ROM's can also include updates to the Winmo OS.
Another reason is to change the Radio. The Radio ROM (not the FM radio) is the software that controls how your device handles data and phone connections.
Many people, including myself, flash a different Radio. Personally, I have found that my battery life, signal, and data connections have dramatically improved after doing this. You might also need to flash a new radio if you are going to try out the new(ish) android port.
Ya sorry for the mistakes. Thought for some reason the Euro version had a smaller proc as well. As for the RAM-ROM thing ya just wasn't thinking as I typed.
thanks for the information guys. i have alot of reading to do. so u guys recommand for me to flash after i read the information???

Well what ROM you want to flash solely depends on what your wants/needs are. I personally prefer a clean 6.5.5 build (finger friendly/start buttons on bottom) and my current ROM is Cloudy 1.5
You will first need to flash HSPL3 before attempting to flash anything else. This will protect you from bricking your phone from a bad flash and also enables you to flash your phone from SD Card instead of USB cable and PC etc.
Once you have chosen your rom just stick the nbh file (rename to LEOIMG.nbh) onto root of SD and boot into loader.
Read all the needed info before attempting anything.
I have newly obtained a T-Mobile MDA Pro with a German WM5 ROM.
I'd like to upgrade to an English WM6 or 6.5 ROM, but it seems there are a few of those around and I have no idea which to choose.
Is there a commonly recommended ROM? If not, what are the main ones and their highlights?
I don't know whether my phone has 64MB or 128MB of ROM, since apparently the HTC Universal can have either and it's important to know in order to pick a ROM to install; how can I check this?
Is it true that WM6/6.5 takes up a lot more RAM than WM5? If so, is there a noticeable difference between 6 and 6.5, and should I perhaps avoid 6.5 if it takes up too much?
Finally, what are the things I should be careful about? Namely, how can I brick my phone? Is an upgrade of the radio, bootloader or other potentially sensitive things necessary, or can I just upgrade the Windows software safely?
Thanks
