Hi, I read many old threads about bt watches. I really like the thought of being in a meeting and your watch shows the name of the person whos calling. But unfortunately i have a MDA Vario3 (HTC Kaiser) and not a stupid SE. Might there be a solution that I can use the watch with my WM 6.0 device? Maybe a little app or something?

i've been looking for the answer ( i think it should have been something that more people are suffering from but i was wrong )
i have a new headset. the sony hbh-ds970 nifty little thing. however when i'm receiving a call i only see the phone number on the screen. is there a way to display the name that the call is from when it is in my phonebook?
p.s. i'm using that upgrade to enable a2dp
Yes I know, it's really hard to find something here. Indeed there are more people than only you, who would like this feature to be supported! But bad news! Please read my little review of the headset in combination with the Magician in the A2DP thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=337217#337217! So far only the point that MortPlayer does not support AVRCP is outdated.
The short conclusion, that matches also this thread is: "To sum up, the HBH-DS970 is a high quality product and the "Walkman" logo on it is justified. Only the Magician is not an equal counterpart to it."
well i'm willing to start on such an application. but i was looking yesterday, and since havn't found any sdk for the ppc2003se bluetooth stack. No api, actually finding info on a2dp or avrcd was pretty hard to come by.
Can anyone point me in the right direction (sdk for the ppc2003se bluetoothstack?)
i have some good ideas on how to implement the stuff.
That would be really nice! But I don't know if there is an SDK for the stack, maybe ask in a seperate thread!?
hmm why does the caller id sometimes work and sometimes not? i just got a call from a friend, and his name was in the screen, after the call i tried to phone and i got the right name in screen... pretty weird :S
Guys,
try this app (JETware Hands-free Extension for Windows Mobile phones) @ http://www.jetwaremobile.com/index.htm
It works!
The best option until M$ decides to implement it by their own in BT stack...

Forgive me folks... I've been reading posts and most of em assume some geekiness beyond my knowledge of cellular phones. I'm a wannabe, no expereince with cellular phones... Upset me to find out that my Nokia 6682 could not bluetooth music.. My intentions are for the Nokia to be my mobile one piece, juebox, phone n camera. Took a week to discover cingular "flashes" my phone to disable some of the phones capabililty. I want to use the phone via car kit as a automobile juke box - tied to my 8 spkr., GM in car stereo. I'd like it to also be compatible with bluetooth stereo headsets for mobile outdoor expereinces.. CAN'T! A2DP IS DISABLED for starters :x ... What should I do? Unlock the phone or find a way to simply enable A2DP or any other bluetooth profiles needed (are the other modifications needed)? [Help!] [/b]
what the ****?
Why don't you post on a Nokia forum :?
This is a PPC forum... not a forum for those silly toy phones known as Nokias.
You are on the wrong forum. I assume you are using symbian or the stock nokia system.
Did you notice "XDA" in the link
Hi all,
I've been eyeing a bluetooth Caller ID watch for a bit now. The Fossil watch only lists compatiblity for Sony Ericsson phones. I've only seen a few other BT Watches and none specify that they are compatible.
Has anyone tried setting one up with a Hermes?
Tried it, and it doesn't work. I tried the SE version AND the Fossil version, and both didn't do a thing.
FWIW; you are not missing much anyway, the watches SUCK. The keep dropping the connection, even on the SE phones they are meant to work on.
Bit of a noob question here, but is there a way to use SAP to utilise my cellphone's SIM contacts and network so that when I'm indoors I can text and call on the AMEO and then disconnect when I'm out and about. Currently I have to SIM swap as I don't like making calls on the Ameo in public.
Basically I want my Ameo to act a bit like a RSAP car kit....utilizing my phone's SIM list and transmitter when needed. This would not only be very convenient but would I think make the Ameo's battery last a hell of a lot longer as in my experience GSM/3G drains a lot more power than BT.
could the Ameo do this?
Or is it possible to develop a programme to do this?
I trust that someone out there knows.....
(Both handsets support SAP)
is that a no then?! Surprised noone else has thought of this considering the size of the ameo. Does anyone even know if it's possible to 'trick' the ameo's bluetooth stack into thinking it can act as a handsfree car kit? Or would this fall down to the capabilities of microsoft's stack? Come on people.

I seem to remember this has been asked before about 3 or 4 months ago and not reply was received then, either (sorry!)

That's a real shame.
Would be nice to develop a little app to allow this, after all it's manipulability and flexibility like this which has allowed the bluetooth protocol to develop the way it has.
Surely someone out there knows whether it is AT LEAST possible. This sort of development would perhaps also form the possibility of using the HTC shift for voice calls if a similar SAP mod can be developed - as this is the only feature the device lacks!
Come on - I'm gagging for someone who knows about this to give an answer.

SAP? You mean the software SAP? I use it with remote desktop. I dont think the software is meant for windows mobile. Also I message my clients using Outlook so there is no real problem. I can be logged into SAP as Admin 24/7 via HSDPA or GPRS.
it was i who created that post about using a SAP profile as a remote phone...
and not a single person chimed in then...
i have done soem extensive research on this subject...
i have found that you need teh development kit for a sim access server (as our phone already has a license)
basicly if someone has a nice car (dump the os) =p
but if we dont have as im access server its not possible...
if someone can get their hands on a sim access server this could very well be a possibility

No sap in this case means sim access profile. It is the same protocol used by bluetooth car kits which basically allows you to remotely view your contacts and call them or text them remotely. Such a utility would i think be brilliant with the ameo as one could connect to, say a nokia n95 and use its transmitter and phonebook whilst at work or static to make and receive calls and browse the internet, then disconnect when out and about. This would be worlds apart from using a bluetooth headset i think.
Hi Friends. There is one (for me) anoying thing about Android:
When I do a pairing with my car hifi, android only finds a headset. Therefore trackinfos (title and artist) are not broadcasted. Tried 2 different NAND Versions and different musicplayers (what finally doesn't cause this).
The funny thing: Windows Mobile did recognise a handsfree device and broadcasted trackinfos for every streamed song.
Does NEbody have a workaround for this "bug"?
Thx
Michael
I have searched for answers on this, but to me it looks as if this just can't be done on Android.
I also didn't find NE Information. Searching for 1 week now. ...I really wonder if I'm the only one who's interested in having this feature. *sad*
Oh, I mean the ID3 Tags, if I didn't describe it clearly before.
