Hi all,
I've been eyeing a bluetooth Caller ID watch for a bit now. The Fossil watch only lists compatiblity for Sony Ericsson phones. I've only seen a few other BT Watches and none specify that they are compatible.
Has anyone tried setting one up with a Hermes?
Tried it, and it doesn't work. I tried the SE version AND the Fossil version, and both didn't do a thing.
FWIW; you are not missing much anyway, the watches SUCK. The keep dropping the connection, even on the SE phones they are meant to work on.

I've been told that you can get the Caller ID display working by installing this:
http://www.jetwaremobile.com/
But what i don't get is why when playing mp3 (using Pocket Player or any other equivalent program that can play mp3 files), the Track Info/ID simply won't display, and only works on Sony Ericsson phones. I mean AVRCP works with no program..i can fast forward/backward (although with a little lag) and adjust volume/play/pause etc.
Surely there must be a hack around this because if you can get it to display track ID on Sony Ericsson phones then surely you can get it to display on PDA phones..
Any ideas? Cheers!
er anyone
up again!!!!!!!!
!!!!!
I;m pretty sure this is not possible, You would have to know how to send commands so the headset would read them, which sorta needs a little info from sony-ericsson.
Theres a reason why it only works with Sony-ericsson phones.
may b kinda late reply ... sorry for tat,
i was tryin to get "the info" how do they communicate, but tat info may be only written in the secret book of sony ericsson, i m still tryin , but fortunately se is oing to release their first wm phone xpeara x1, which they are saying going to be perfectly compatible with these handsets and if we get a copy of rom to cook then .... guess what
so just hold tight and wait for may b 6 monts or so
regards
Can't wait to get the ds980 working with wm6 phone (Titan)
There's an app that sends those info into the SE watch right?
Maybe you should work with the developer there, coz I can't imagine it to be that big of a diff? (Hopefully?)
UP
Anyone ?
I have the SE headset and CallerID displays with my TouchXL with WM6. It does not display the track information, but the display is too small for that in my opinion anyway. There is likely something in the SE Walkman player that sends the MP3 information to the headset. My only thought would be to see if the SE P1 windows mobile device works and see if the settings/music player can be ported to another device. Sorry I don't have one to test...
Hi, I read many old threads about bt watches. I really like the thought of being in a meeting and your watch shows the name of the person whos calling. But unfortunately i have a MDA Vario3 (HTC Kaiser) and not a stupid SE. Might there be a solution that I can use the watch with my WM 6.0 device? Maybe a little app or something?
Anyone can confirm that the supposedly present PBAP protocol is working ?
Altough my X2 is working generally better than expected, the my Alpine Car stereo is not able to show the phone's contacts.
That Car stereo was able to show the contacts with almost any phone I tried in the last couple of years.
Notably the samsung i780, the Xperia X1, the imate 8502 (which is a Mobinnova product), all the sonyericsson featurephones (k800, w995, G705, etc...).
So, is that protocol truly present (as stated on the bt cpl), and there is some compatibility issue, or is simply missing ?
Can you share your experience ?
I have no problems with the RBAP protocol on my Parrot MKi9000.
Maybe there's a problem with you Stereo.
Cheers.

Thanks for the info.
Maybe wm 6.5.x has changed something on the protocol so the radio won't recognize it.
I'll try to flash the radio with the latest firmware to see if the problem is solved.
I haven't upgraded the FW, since it worked W/O a single problem, with any device I tried (excluding the N900 that was released w/o PBAP support).
Ok, updated the car stereo's firmware (not so easy task) to the latest revision, the caller ID is still unsent, and the phonebook unavailable from the radio's display.
The compatibility list of this FW is huge

So I'm still convinced that something is wrong on the X2 itself or on the windows version installed.
I have the same problem, my car can access the phone book on other phones, but not on the X2.
Anyone know what to do?

I have the X2 and a JVC KD-NX5000 car stereo (outboard/integrated BT attachment). The X1 worked fairly flawlessly over BT (with gtrab's custom firmware).
Although I have not figured-out how to get MS Voice Cmd on the X2 to initiate calls from the JVC, the following software cured the Phonebook problem:
http://www.jetwaremobile.com/
They offer a free 30-day demo, and it's only $15 for the registered version. There's a command on the menu where (once you are paired with your BT radio), you 'force-feed' the contacts over to the radio. Worked like a charm for me. And, it's actually a bit preferable to the 'phone handles it' method. On the X1, it took the phonebook on its own, but it would update only under unknown/unexpected circumstances. With JetMobile, I believe you can re-send/overlay the contacts whenever you'd like.
(Note: This is using X2 and the May MR2 firmware release with the Saturn theme.)
I'd like to buy a smartwatch, however all that meet my requirements (AMOLED, waterproof) are stand-alone versions, with SIM card slot. I've notice that most of these watches do not support full phone synchronization. I'd like my watch to have functionality like: phone camera trigger, answering phone calls, answering SMS or WhatsApp messages...
If some of you can advice me how can I achieve that by external software, or what kind of smartwatch should I buy to meet those requirements, it would be great.
None of them will be able to make or receive calls properly through Bluetooth if that is what you are asking.
There is a reason for this. Google owns the api that allows this kind of interaction with Android. They will never allow it to be used on these watches. To google, these watches go against everything they are working on with Android Wear. They also protest that it is a security issue.
So, long story short - if you want full Bluetooth interactive mode you will need a Wear watch.
Not one of these Bluetooth pairing watches you find on Aliexpress. They also are not allowed to use these api's and cannot make or receive calls over Bluetooth.
If you find one that really works (a lot of them claim to but don't) I'd be interested ?
You might look at the Ticwatch 2. Nice looking watch and is licensed by Google - kind of......

Have you looked at the Imacwear M7? It might be what you're looking for.

Thanks @pablo11, however I can't say that I'm happy with what I've just read So it is not possible to implement this functionality in ROM or with the App?
Samsung watches overspend my budget
I completely don't get it! A 10$ smartwatch (like DZ-09) can answer phone calls and push notification two-way, and 100$ can't?
Hello,
I want to help a friend with continuous glucose monitoring. His pomp hardware has bluetooth and it is possible to connect it to phone. But only a few phones are compatible - Iphones and a few models of Samsung. When you don't have a compatible phone application displays error.
So, I edited build.prop and application works but I can't find CGM device. I wonder why. What is a difference in bluetooth module in samsung and one plus 5? Or maybe do you know other reason why OP5 can't find this device?
