I got two 8125. One shows usb connection when I get to the bootloader .The other, I got to the bootloader but when i connect the usb cable to pc, I don't see usb show on the lcd of the 8125. My pc won't see the usb connection at all. please help.

Read the linky in my siggy. Could be a damaged usb port on your device. The thread in my siggy tears apart possible issues and fixes, so if it doesn't help, post back.
The usb port is used to work but now it is not working anymore even I get to bootloader. there is no USB showing at the bottom of the bootloader screen

Like I said, read the linky in my siggy. In the thread it explains repairing the usb. You need to read the stuff to understand how it works. We cannot just give you a stock answer. If your usb is damaged, the link explains how to make solder connections (if you are so inclined to repair it yourself, at your own risk). If your usb is damaged, you are pretty much screwed until you make the repair. The thread also explains that and why. Read, read, read, and when you think you've read it all, read some more. That is the motto here.
thank you very much for our response. I have read but the problem is the the usb is used to work just fine before I did a wizbackup and unlock the sim. After that the usb is not working anymore. I got to the bootloader but no usb shows at the bottom of the lcd. So, this is NOT hardware for sure. Just wanted to know how to get a sd image so that I can boot it and hopefully get usb port back showing at the bottom of the lcd.

You will not be able to get a SD boot. You NEED a usb connection. I know I tried it. Your usb may be damaged, even just a small bit. Mine didn't break outright. First it was just loose enough that it wasn't physically noticeable, but I'd have to give a slight jiggle to get the usb to connect...I think page 2 of that thread I linked explains the issues of no usb and trying to boot via SD. You may consider dissecting your device and checking the connections. Again, that thread explains what to look for. Also, you cannot use someone else's SD image, it MUST be from YOUR device to work.

Is it possible that I can transfer some contacts to the sim from the phone memory? I never saw an option for that.

yes u can copy the contacts form to ur sim BUT the thing is that the copying is kinda limited for me it would usually copy only one number and thats it all the rest of the info for that contact wasnt able to be copied
the program is usually in the program folder and is called Sim Manager

is it possible that the USB port can be fixed at all? this phone has soo much for me to get off of it, I atleast need to be able to hook it up to the computer...

its funny I long on in regards to that same problem. my usb port doesn't look damage, but it dosent react to my charger or usb cables. I thought it was my battery. so I bough a battery off ebay thank goodness it already had 70% charge. I also ordered a charger want see if I need a specefic charger for it to be detected. I'm willing to pay to fix the usb, but I'm in the usa.
I had the same problem recently and based on the board, the usb port wasn't really soldered that well. Anyway, maybe there's a hardware store that repairs there, that's what I did. Of course, I'm sort of pissed that the guy broke the volume slider. Now it just sets the volume to max or to minimum. Btw, If you do get your usb port fixed, max sure to test if the pc can read and write on the wizard. When I got my phone back, it could only read.
Ok, so after moving house i have lost the data cable that came with my phone. However i have got another cable that fits, however it does not recognise it on the pc, the phone takes power from the cable however active sync nor device manager seems to find the phone, is this because it isnt the proper cable or have i got a bigger problem?
Nevermind, I found a new cable and it works, now im running a nice new rom

Hello everyone, I have a couple of questions to ask all of you great phone gurus

Basically I have ruined the USB connection on my Touch Cruise. I am wanting to know if there is any way I can access my files on the phone by having it connected to my wireless network at home (ie a program or something I can run on my PC.) Reason I ask is I am trying to edit the HTC weather Plugin to show my location (Lebanon, OH, USA) and it is quite hard/impossible to do using the phone alone.
Second question is, is it possible to replace a damaged USB connector? I know it is probably ruined but I figure it might be worth a try. I had attempted to hook up my front USB header on my motherboard, but plugged them in backwards. I managed to salvage the phone by removing the actual USB piece from the phone and pulling the wires out. Luckily I am still able to use the phone (nothing else besides the USB connector is messed up) by purchasing an external battery charger + battery.
I know these are probably both a shot in the dark but any help anyone could provide would be GREATLY appreciated.
You can sync via bluetooth if you have it on your computer, or wifi search in google for that (ex: http://wifi.aximsite.com/sync.html)
I tought replace it will be very hard .

using bluetooth will help and maybe a card reader + microSD might speed things up. find a good file manager for WinMO
i doubt that there is any way to acces phones files through wireles so bluetooth is the only wireless (and supported) way
I don't have a camera currently but just look at your USB connection on your phone then imagine that there is absolutely nothing in it. It is just an empty 'rectangle'. No wires or the little horizontal piece that normally sits in there. Just an empty 'rectangle.'

Hi. I have a problem here. Is it possible to flash new rom directly through bootloader, my activesync is not working properly, and something is wrong with my usb connection - when I connect my device to PC via usb, in bootloading mode - it gets connected and disconnnected about 50 times in one minute, no .RUU is able to recognize it for long enough to complete the instalation. I've tried to reinstall the activesync, did hard reset of my phone, deleted relationships - but no luck. What worries me most is that usb connection problem. It's only with HD2, all other devices connect properly. Anyone knows the answer, what should I do in order to fix that? P.S I always remove sim and sd card, and disable my antivirus programs and firewalls during my flashes....

And now - I'm stuck...seemed I finally got connected via usb through bootloader for longer than two minutes, so I started fleshing my radio... and it got disconnected after a minute by itself again, in the midllle of the process...Now, there's an upgrade rom code error on green field of my bootloader, telling me to try again, only - I can't do recovery, cause my usb connection gets on/off 50 times a minute, whenever I try to do the recovery .... Any suggestions?
Have you tried another USB port? Perhaps even another computer.
Have you also eliminated the posibility of the cable that you use to connect your HD2 is damaged in some way.....
You can also flash ROM/Radio via SD card......
There is a sticky thread that explains how to do so.....
You basically need to extract the main file from the rom/radio and rename it to LEO.img, place it on the root of your SD card and turn on the phone whilst holding vol. down.
Check this thread for a more complete set of instructions.

Have youctried a different USB cable to see if you can keep a connection then? Youmight have a bad USB cable. If trying another USB cable and different USB ports does not help you might have a faulty USB port on your HD2 in that case you can still use your SD card tocflash Windows Mobile ROMs and radios but if you flash a official ROM via SD card it reverts HSPL so be aware of that as you will not be able to get HSPL back if you have a faulty USB port on your HD2. Go to the link to lean about flashing via SD card.

I'm not planing to flash official rom, I plane to flash another custom, as soon as I deal with this radio interrupted. If it is a faulty USB port for your HD2 it can be fixed but by replacing the USB port if needed or just resoldering some on your existing one but from what I read it is really best done by a proffesional, go to the link below and read through thatcthread as you will se what I mean, it is only 3 pages long so read the intior thread it is not much reading.

The easiest way to fix a bad USB port on a HD2 is to replacecthe intior main board.

I do hope it's not, though, as I never had a problem charging my phone, it charged good and fast until this "accident" . I like to believe that it's not gonna take a new motherboard in order to be able to use my phone in the way I used to, and cause of which I'm addicted to it

I hope you don't have to have the main board changed either. Bit know this in the USB port on the HD2 has I think 4 pins in it two are for charging and two are for data and it sounds like your data pinswould be the ones with a issue if your USB port is bad as you still have to wait until you can try a different USB cable. At any rate though I wish you the best of luck.
Ok people, I've sorted it out ... Lucky me - no faulty usb port on HD2, no faulty cable, and, no faulty HD2 ... I've flashed a different radio from sd card, and also rom, and now - connectivity with my pc is - never better ... Even ActiveSync is working like it hasn't been in 6 months, hahahhhh ... Point is - it was my pc punishing me for playing with it's registry, few nights before ... I was really confused, cause HD7 had excellent connectivity with my pc, but HD2 really bad, so I really thought there was something wrong with my beloved HD2 ... Than, I remembered I've messed with my registry the other night, and deleting some non-existing pocket pc paths in it... So, I repaired my windows on pc, and now everything works like a charm .... What can I say - curiosity can have very high price, sometimes .... But - fortunately I'm lucky, as it gets ...
Argh, I am pulling my hair out trying to solve this! When I connect my phone through USB to my computer my phone detects the connection but my computer doesn't respond at all! I bought the phone used and it is already rooted but is using a pretty old rom and I wanted to upgrade it. It is currently running "Kernel version: 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #4".
Things I have tried:
Using different USB settings on the phone (Kies, mass storage, ask on connection)
USB debugging mode
Different USB cables
Different computers
Cleaning the micro usb port on the phone
Formatting SD card
wide data/factory reset
Nothing seems to accomplish anything, it still reacts in the same way.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

First of all, has it ever worked? I just presume you're running on win7: did you installed the drivers as specified in several different tutorials on this forum?
What kind of connection are you trying to establish? tether, usb, kies, other? have you tried any combination possible?
I just got the phone a couple days ago, I have not managed to get it to be detected by anything yet. I have tried it on a couple Win 7 boxes and also a Vista laptop. I am currently downloading Ubuntu just to rule out the OS factor. I have just been using Kies to install drivers although after reading your post I found this thread:

I have been trying to establish basically any connection at all for the ultimate goal of getting Odin to actually detect the phone so I can flash it with ClockworkMod Recovery and then an ICS rom. The phone detects the USB cable fine and starts charging and puts the phone into whatever mode I want (kies, mass storage, etc.) but the computer has yet to give any indication that anything is connected to it.
Try with the drivers, but be also sure to enable usb debugging to be able to select a different usb sharing when inserting the cable in case you haven't already.
The drivers installation didn't make any difference and I've tried USB debugging and all 3 connection modes (Kies, mass storage and media player), none of which exhibit any response from the PC.
Edit: Posting from Ubuntu now, same exact thing. Phone detects USB connection, and it doesn't matter which of the connection options I choose as the PC doesn't give any indication that anything has been connected to it.
That's really weird. Does Odin3 (which presumably works at a lower level) sees anything if you put the phone in download mode? ) this way you should be probably able to upgrade somehow.

No unfortunately there is no response from the computer or Odin3 when the phone is in download mode and connected through USB.
that's odd and maybe that's not good at all.
I'm starting to think the problem could be hardware related, especially in a situation where odin can't see the phone in download mode (i.e. no software layer is interfering).
Is there any glaring damage/scratch/missing parts on the usb port?
Sincerely, if I could return it I would try that at this point.

So I took a look at the port under a scope today and discovered that one of the pins (the middle one) in the micro usb port on the phone seems to be completely gone! Not sure what each pin does but I'm assuming that one is probably used to communicate to whatever the phone is connected to...
Luckily I have access to a parts phone that I can take apart for a replacement port so probably tomorrow I will attempt surgery on the phone! Will report back with further progress after I have done so.
Well I'm happy to report that that was definitely the problem! I replaced the micro USB port on the phone today during my lunch break, put the phone back together and plugged it into a PC here. It immediately detected the phone so I'm pretty happy! Guess I'll be trying out some ICS roms tonight when I get home!
