linux on P3300? - P3300, MDA Compact III upgrading etc.

i guess the title sais it all. some years ago i saw a friend with an IPAQ who somehow burned a linux rom on it. there were many applications already available tho i don't know how syncing went.
i wonder, is there something similar on the artemis (P3300 to be more exact) and if yes, does everything work (radio, bt, wifi, gps, etc) and if yes to this too: how does it sync?

Bluetooth turns off randomly by itself

Hi all,
I'm running original WM06 ITA on my x7500 and I'm experiencing this problem:
when I receive a call I can't answer with my BT headset because X7500 BT is turned off even if it was on, so that I have to activate it again. So the problem is that X7500 BT turns off by itself very often in a day. How can I solve this problem? Any fix available?
THX so much!
hi
i have the same problem. this thing happens 2-5 times a day to me. the wicked thing is that somtimes it works perfect 1 or 2 days and when you think no everything is fine 'pop' its there again. fact is that bluetooth simply disappears, the indicator on athena is still blinking blue and the commanager tells bt is on, but my bt-headset (and other devices) signals that the bt connection is gone, also other devices cant find the athena any longer. i have to disable/enable bt in the commanager to get the functionality of bt back. i was thinking about returning the device for repair, but fearing the discussion of not using the original rom (the one with the superugly optical improvements of the provider ). and because maby it's a rom problem. my config is:
htc rom 2.21.407.1 (07/18/07) with extrom:2.21.407.101.
3 bt-headsets 1. sony hbh-ds220, 2. moto s705 and moto ht-820. all 3 are working fine with my universal but having these problem with the athena.

Hi...so we have the same problem...
I have the original HTC ROM just restored on my device and I have the problem. I read about it somewhere, other people with same problem but I can't remember where...
yes we are not alone i found serval posts on the net for htc and other brands like these:
http://forums.wireless.att.com/cng/...thread.id=27495&view=by_date_ascending&page=1
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=867111
but no solutions. the only meaningful thing was for wm5, there is a fix of the bluetooth stack by microsoft (http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;913683&x=13&y=14) but i did not found one for wm6.

Hi guys.
I'm sorry to say that I had, a long while ago, the same problem with my Universal, and after a whole lot of tweaking, tinkering, and kinky massaging, all that was left to do was to have the device replaced. It definitly was a hardware problem, alas... :-(
I've had mine almost 4 months, stock 7501 ROM, and no problem like that ever. I leave BT turned on all the time. Sounds like a hardware problem.
been there done that fixed that
hi all,
yes, until I found the coolest und most functional BT headset, the cheapy prior ones caused same faults, even to the point of a hard reset ... why, well
no help to be found, just the notion of thinking and knowing, that the cheapy hardware out there was casuing it, not the htc.
example, some devices go into a kind of sleep mode and disconnect if not used, then while the htc still thinks its connected, it gets no reply from your other BT device. Take many SW packages or HW devices on your PC even, unplug the network and u´ll see, even they have unforseen problems ...
have fun, try HW makers like HAMA or Samsung, they rarely disappoint.

Aaaahhhh, I'm not alone.
Same problem here, but ONLY afair with WM6 (I'm using WM6, T-Mobile Germany). I can't remember, that I had this problem with the original T-MOB WM5 ROM.

hi
i dont know if you read the post's above, but if you do you will see that the pda is turning off the bt, so it dont matter if you use one of the 'fantastic products' of hama (yes i also read your other 2 'advertising' posts of your overall 3 for them ). or any cheap crap stuff from sony or motorola like i do.
anyhow to came back to the real problem, i called my provider today and after explaining the problem, they suprise me with a complete hasselfree swap of the device to a new one in the beginning of the next week. when i get the new device i will test it first with the rom that installed, and then switch to the htc rom again to see if the problem returns again, i post the results here.
bye mad
Yeah, I think they're probably aware there's something wrong with some bluetooth chips, both on the Athena and Universal....
hi,
with wm6,
i have tested a BT 1.1 headset (Conceptronics) and works fine, without problems.
also, i have tested 2 BT 1.2 headsets (LG Style-i and Supertooth Nano). In the 2 cases, i have your related problems.
in my opinion, wm6 has a problem with the headsets that implements the 1.2 protocol.
all the headsets works fine with wm5.
regards
I have same problem with HTC Advantage running WM6 with LG Style-i headset ...
With my LG Style-i it keeps disconecting but with my SE BT headset it works fine (PK 3.0 Dual ROM) so in my case the BT on the phone doesnot turmn itself off, just has problems connecting.
Someone sugested a diff radio ROM might fix it - if so, does anyone know which radio does not implement the 1.2 protocol?
I'm using 1.47.51.00
hi there
i'm using my replacement athena for nearly one week now, and had not a single 'shutdown' of bt, not with the se ds220 nor with the moto 705 headset. i use the official german tmobile wm6 roms and not the htc version i used on the replaced athena. so it is not totaly clear if the change of the device or of the rom is making the difference, all other software packages are installed again. it also seems that the system is more stable overall in my every day usage, but that might be only my personal feeling.
mad
*EDIT* one more thing i noticed now is that when a call came in the sound is now played in the bt headset. before the sound came out of the speakers of the athena, and the bt headset only play its standard ringtone. seems that now everything is the way it should be .

TomTom lost by mistake

hello all.
1st time visit..so please be kind..
im in a right mess.....please please help me out if you can.
i have just bought my HTC touch diamond off ebay... all good ..i love it..i used it last night and all was good..i used tomtom for getting to work in my car...all good except it seemed to take a very very long time to find satelite etc etc and work out routes...(maybe 5 mins before i could set off).
Anyway..before this new phone/pda. i was using an old SPV M2000 pocket PC and i had on my memory card a version of TomTom 6 with all the points of interest and cameras etc etc..that worked great with my external blue tooth reciever..
So i thought i would copy my points of interest folder over onto my new HTC .. i managed to completely ruin the version already installed by overwriting maps etc etc and now it wont work at all and tells me to download maps from tomtom..at no-doubt loads of money data connection on the phone..
So then i decided to erase the version on the phone and all other folders i had over-written previously... and then maybe install the version from my old pocket pc.
Now im in a complete state of confusion after reading these posts..
does anyone have the correct advice for me to go forward from here..?
all i want is Tomtom working with speed cameras etc etc.
sorry to start with such a big post.
all the best
vince
tomtom

Trinity Application unlocking from SD card?

Hi,
I finally took the plunge and flashed my Orange SPV M700 (HTC Trinity P3600) and upgraded to WM6. Fantastic - wished I'd done it ages ago. I followed the excellent TrinityGuides instructions referenced from XDA-Developers Trinity Wiki. My only hiccup while doing the upgrade was choosing which ROM to use. I didn't realise that the Orange SPV M700 phones are in fact P3600, therefore I had a number of failed attempts inadvertantly flashing with P3600i ROMs until I realised what the problem might be. A few XDA-Developers searches revealed that the FInix_3_7_2_Normal ROM seemed to work well for most P3600's, so that's the one I went for.
I'm now running:
- Hard SPL: Olipro 1.20
- Radio: 1.50.08.11
- ROM: FInix_3_7_2_Normal - actually gives you WM6.1
I flashed two weeks ago and everything's running at 100%. Just the ability to use a phone-pad T9 input method for emails and SMS's was worth the upgrade alone, not to mention loads of other benefits that I'm discovering every day.
Only two niggles, which I wonder if someone can help me with...
Niggle number 1 is quite trivial: I actually liked some of the WM5 notifications sounds - but they're not all present in the WM6 ROM. Can anyone tell me where I could download these from. I note that WM6 allows you to use mp3 files for notification sounds so even getting them in mp3 format would be fine.
Niggle number 2 is a bit more of a hassle: I have a 4gb storage card which I keep permanently installed in the HTC (I now have an 8gb one on order). As well as my pictures and mp3, this storage card also holds all my WM apps. Every few months I hard reset my HTC and reinstall everything - its nice to have a clean device - particularly if I've been experimenting with other apps. Therefore its simply a case of installing all the apps cabs straight off the storage card. No need to get connected to a PC. While running WM5, I used an unlock cab, which I created via the Orange Developers web site, to get rid of the application lock so I could install my apps. However (and here's the niggle) when I run the app unlock cab on my new ROM I get a "not trusted certificate" , or some such, message and the installation aborts. The only resolution I've found is to run SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe on my PC while connected to the HTC. I'd like to remove this need to be tethered to the PC when I hard reset, therefore can anyone please advise how I can achieve the same outcome as running SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe, preferably by running a cab file from the storage card.
Thanks.
Just a final word... for me, I only need one device in my pocket - my HTC Trinity P3600 - with this one device in addition to the mobile phone and camera functionality, my apps give me the following:
- obvious: email, calendar, contacts all wirelessesly sync'd with my work network
- SlingMobile gives me all the UK Freeview TV channels with DVR capability - requires a bit of kit back home which can be cheaply set up by buying off eBay.
- Satnav via TomTom Mobile (plus also Google maps) using the onboard GPS
- Laptop 3G broadband connectivity using PdaNet on which I can simultaneously access the internet via my HTC at the same time as making/receiving calls (this was the main driver for the WM6 upgrade).
- Full screen Internet browsing experience with Opera 9.5 (so much better than IE).
- Dual (or even quad) timezone display, alarms, etc with Spb Time.
I also recommend FastBlueTooth switcher, which allows you to set up one of the programmable buttons to toggle bluetooth on/off - very useful way to quickly and easily put bluetooth on only when going hands free and saving the battery by easily turning it off when not using the hands-free.

Bluetooth problem just appeared

Hi,
I just got a problem with my BT. It doesn't work. Yesterday it did, today it don't and I don't have the time to search this forum just now. I really need the bluetooth function today...
What I've done is to buy g-profile and g-alarm and thereby have the "full" version. I have installed some other apps but haven't configured them in any way since yesterday.
Can anybody help me? I really wouldn't like to have to make a hard reset!!
installed tomtom by anychance?
No, but I have installed a bought Navigon 7. Could this mess anything up?
That I havn't changed in any way since... well... a couple of weeks....
interesting, I tried G-Profile and it immediately killed my internet settings...

WP 7.8 neither handsfree, nor bluetooth headset

Hello all,
happy to discover you.
I have recently acquired a HTC_HD2 from a friend who hadn't changed anything at it's formal operating system win.mobile 6.5 I think it is called.
after a lot of studing and effort, I did make it dual bootable, between wp7.8, (from this link I took the rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=953078&page=327) and android jellybean_nexusHD2 installed to the microsd. (
android seems to working fine .
unfortunately, in wp7.8 when I plug in a 3.5mm headset, although I can hear the call , the other line cannot hear me at all. checked with two different headsets, no luck at all.
to make matters worse, my bluetooth headset won't get connected to the phone at all.
I think yesterday I managed for a moment to connect it, but I am not so sure, why can't I do it again today?
in long calls, I don't want to keep my phone stuck to my head. or while driving, I want to use only bluetooth (if no mobile at all).
anyway, has any other experienced same problems? any solution probable? in case of an updated rom od wp7.8 any case to get notification in my HTC_HD2 automatically?
this rom is the only one I found with functional nokia_drive (very important to me) and other useful apps preinstalled.
also, I doubt if I could manage again to make my phone dual-booting with andorid succesfully, since I tried like a 100 times to do succesfully the necessary partitions after installing wp7.8 each time I failed.
thanks in advance for any opinions/answers.
the thing is, I prefer wp7.8 over android but I am imagining I will stay with andorid jellybean since it is 100% functional until now.
Ps. sorry if I put my thread to a wrong region, beginner, be sympathetic.
