I have an unlocked Orbit with Wm6 on it and trying some of the modded roms and always goes to about 3% and fails saying error 270
any ideas pls guys
have even tried flash via SD card
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Artemis_SD_Card_Flashing
still no joy
I'm having the same problem.
Just got my XDA back from screen repair, previously I had it flashed with B&B v4.1.
I put in back to the O2 rom before sending it off for repair.
Now it's back when ever I attempt to reflash the B&B Rom it refuses to accept the update and bomb's out @ 3% with the same error as this guy.
The phone is sim free, (it's got a vodafone sim in it at the mo) and I have run the uspl unlock, but no joy i've tried various ROM's and they all fail at the same point?
Any body got any thoughts?
Thanks

Same Here , and im running vista (Tinyvista)
hmm yeah I am running vista, I do have access to a Windows XP machine do you think the problem is vista related?
However I did manage to flash the same phone before using vista to get the B&B v4.1 Rom on it before the screen packed in?
After a bit more too and fro'in, managed to flash my phone with the 02 WWE v2.1 Premium rom (with touch flow) using vista, however I noticed that the boot loader for this rom appeared to be a different one to the B&B roms (WWE little linux pengiun on screen, B&B Rom, colored bars on screen).
So at least I'm not on the standard O2 Rom any more, but still puzzeled as to why I can't flash the B&B Roms no more?

I used to use the O2 6.1 ROM. It updated from 6.0 fine.
Then I flashed HardSPL and a 6.5 ROM. I tried to go back to O2 6.1 but I got stuck in the bootloader screen. The update stopped at 34%.
So I used NueTTY to run the set 16 0 and Task 8 commands. My phone rebooted into 6.5 again.
So I went back to the original 1.25 SPL, flashed using O2 6.1 and this time it stopped at 39%. I reused NueTTY to get back into 6.5.
I went back to HardSPL and flashed using a 3lit3 ROM. This flashed fine.
So... Every time I try to flash my phone using the 02 6.1 it freezes and leaves me in the bootloader screen.
Ive actually tried many more times. Using all three original SPLs I could find, ive tried flashing when its in the bootloader screen but it stops at 0%. I really want to go back to the original O2 6.1 ROM I had in the first place.
Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong?
Looks like you're using radio 1.65x, that radio won't let you go back to any lower version of radio, I also have an original XDA Orbit2 and sometime before I went back to original O2 ROM with no trouble at all using HardSPL so if you do, use this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3777108&postcount=430 and you'll be able to flash your original O2 ROM.
Be careful using terminal, that's the easiest way to brick your device if you don't know what you're doing.
Thanks for the reply.
It was a radio problem.
The camera button is broken on my phone! so I just tried to flash the phone (knowing it would leave me in the bootloader) and then flashed with the 1.64.08.21 radio.
The O2 rom flashed fine!
Got there at last.
Many Thanks!
Hey everybody,
My HD is acting funny at the moment. The screen isn`t going on anymore. The device self is responding, it makes noise when someone calls and vol up/down is also responding. I know where the vibrate button on the screen appears and when i press at this place it also responds. So the screen is responding but isn`t turning on. Also the green/orange light behind the power button isnt working. Maybe a problem with the backlight? The device is younger than a year so i should have warranty but I flashed the device. Should this cause any problems when i send it back?
Greets
I think your screen is dead.
did you drop the phone or some thing like that??
and if you want to send it back, you need the original rom from HTC or the custum rom from your phone company.
Do you alredy try to Hardreset?
Thanks for the replies! I didn`t drop the phone or something like that, it just started to do it. Hard reset is a bit of a guess if it worked because the screen isn`t working. A bit annoying because i also need to flash it back to original if i want to sent it to HTC...Any tips?
than flash it back you don't need the screen to do it.
I used USPL a few weeks ago to flash a 1.56 rom. Do i also need to flash back my spl than? Am i right that you first had to flash back the SPL to original 1.14?
Does anybody have a clue about the SPL i`ve got at the moment? Last time i used USPL to flash a 1.56 rom. So do i have the original SPL at the moment?

As long as you have stock rom on it and stock SPL you will be fine.
You flashed a 1.56 rom using USPL so chances are your SPL is 1.54.0000 which should be fine for returning under warranty.
Your main concern is getting stock rom on device which you should still be able to do even without screen working. Connect device to pc and run USPL as normal and then flash stock 1.56 rom onto device
Thanx for the reply!
I didn`t know SPL 1.54 would be ok to return under warranty. I did the following: I`ve set my phone in bootloader, runned USPL and flashed a cooked wwe rom. This was all completed correctly so i should be able to return it under warranty right?
I used this rom: RUU_BlackStone_HTC_Europe_1.56.401.0_Radio_52.62.25.34_1.13.25.24_Ship

Yeah i meant stock rom, just got off the phone with HTC. They`re picking it up next Thuesday... I`ll keep in touch!
Hi Sharpedgedone - I've also got the same problem on my un-modded (standard ROM) Touch HD.
Just left a message with HTC support, hopefully mine will also be still under warranty.
Will let you know how I go.
The idiots lost the phone! HTC track site still said `we`re expecting delivery and will start repair asap´. Contacted with HTC and confirmed that the phone still hadn`t arrived and an investigation was started to retrieve the phone. They also said the phone was branded and they made a mistake taking the repair assignment. This had to be done thrue the provider and not directly by HTC. Called my provider and they say the device is unbranded, like i ordered it begin this year specifically. I mailed the pick-up order letter to the person who is investigating the whereabouts of the phone 10 days ago. Still nothing...
Any advice or experiences with this?
Just got the phone back, opened the box @ the postoffice. Immediately noticed the IMEI nr changed. Phoned with HTC from there, dont know what happenden, they earlier said the phone was send directly back by the package service when they found it. Starting an investigation again. They made the note to contact the repair center by myself. Contacted Eurotwice repair center (BE), they`re the official HTC repair center, and they said they also dont know and the device was sent to Dynafix (NL). Thats the repair center of the provider. Contacted Dynafix and they said the Mobo was swapped en sent back to Eurotwice and eurotwice sent it back to me...
Device seems to be working ok for now so thats positive . I only had to call for a total of 2 hours to find this out by myself. Anyone knows where i can demand this back from HTC or file in a complaint?
Hi all
OK, my screen alignment on HD is so messed up i went to downgrade my HD HTC (1.56 Olinex -W6.5Miri) back to its original Orange SPL and OS so i can send it back to HTC under warranty.
Foolishly I changed the HSPL first to original stock so it is now a SPL 1.14.000 (no olinex or anything) in bootloader.
I went to then flash ROM to latest Orange HTC OS release from xda (compatible with that SPL) and just got the 262 error.
So, I have a big problem...
1. I cannot flash any ROM from bootloader - error 262 problem - hangs on 0%
2. I cannot cook a new HSPL in any way - error 262 problem
3. Ive got green screen and cannot in anyway load SSPL-Manual-TouchHD.zip and then run it (which normally fixes the 262 error)
4. Ive got green screen so my phone doesnt work
5. tried hard reset - now hangs on loading new OS in green screen
Is it bricked? Is there any software I can use to force reload of HSPL? is there anything i can do in green screen? I figure my aim is to get the phone back to 1.56 and start over again. FYI am using W7 on pc but uploaded new drivers etc.
Very curious to see if folk out there have any ideas...
Cheers in advance

You should still be able to flash your original stock rom unto your device and then follow proper methods to flash latest stock
thanks. i am frantically looking for a copy. i did download one from rapidshare but was only an upgrade. however the good news is it did start to install (ie got to 1%) which means some movement. if you anyone can advise where to get basic orange rom for 6month old HTC HD then let me know. ill keep searching...
ah a grain of hope...

Get it here on the wiki mate.
Would start with RUU_BlackStone_HTC_Europe_1.14.401.2_Radio_52.49a.25.26_1.09.25.14_Ship.exe

I realise you must deal with a lot of panic "BRICKS!" Not one to flap but exhausted all my knowledge. And as usual the solution was a simple one and not desperately technical.
FYI: The ROMs didnt work but went to actual Orange site and downloaded their exe file ROM and it went straight as if a normal upgrade.
Thanks for prompting me in the right direction. You just saved me £400!

Hi guys
I have managed to break my HD2. The touchscreen no longer works. I have a HD2 from Vodafone. I have decided to take it back, however I have flashed roms and radios before with HSPL. I managed to flash back to 1.48 and the radio with it, But once I tried to remove HSPL via microSD, When it boots I get the following screen.
Current Situation
I have bootloader up.
"SPL-1.42.0000"
Upgrade ROM code error Please try again.
I want to install a stock rom and radio so I can hand it back, but when I tried to install RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.43.405.1_Radio_Signed_15.26.50.07U_2.04.50_22_2_Ship
I got Invalid Vender ID.
What should I do next?
UPDATE
Installed Vodafone rom from HTC site and seems to be booting fine,
Radio is now 2.07.51 and
Rom is the HTC 1.72 vodafone one.
Anything else I should do before I hand it back.

try to use task29
nothing else needed, being your phone a branded one its IMEI code can't be associated with unbranded stock roms, you flashing the official vodafone rom fixed it, so as long as there isn't ay hspl showing anymore you're fine for warranty servicing.

task29 and flash a new radio, then a custom ROM.
Sounds like hardware issue, you probably overheated the mainboard while using as wlan router. You could try a task 29 followed by flashing radio then a ROM & see if you get same issues.
Good luck but my hunch is you'll be nedding a new device.
Out of interest what model HD2 is it & does it have red or yellow hard reset button under battery cover ? Yellow reset is suggested to be revision model & less prone to heat & screen failure issues ...
my device has a red button next to the battery. i will try the task29 tonight. i hope it will work fine. otherwise i have to tke a new one. so i have another question. the device had e vodafone branding and i flashed a custom rom.i bougth it last december. how long do i have garantee and how do i get the device to the mode i got is?
thanks

if it is hardware HTC will cover it as it has warranty for one year.
You would need to download your stock ROM from HTC site, just give your sn of your phone, get the ROM, put it on your SD CARD,then flash (don't flash from RUU, flash thru SD so it restores your SPL and radio to correct versions)
i thin my devide has a hardware problem too, because task29 doesnt work too. do i have to flash a branded rom, like the branded rom from the beginning or ca i flash any rom, which i can get from the htc page?
thanks

As long as you use your serial number to verify that the ROM is for your HD2 then yes you can flash it but I would go with the most recent ROM it will let you download and then flash it via SD card so you have the correct everything.
