WM6 stuck on boot - P3600 General

Hi,
i think some of you know the app Pocket Mechanic. I've installed it and select to defrag my trinity....now at the boot up it gets stucked because of the defrag...but not 5 Minutes...not 1 hour...till now 2 hours...same after softreset.
What can i do without losing all my files ?

I am sorry mate, same thing happened to me, but I didn't defrag however, I just soft reseted my phone, and it just got stuck at the windows mobile splash screen for yonks and never went into the OS.
Since then I hard reseted my device and everything went, I talked to Customer Support they said to leave the battery out for 4 hours or so but that didn't work.
Anyway, if you find an alternative solution for this, then please share it with us, but unfortunately the only solution I have is hard reset.

I encountered same problem where it was stuck at splash screen while trying to install a keyboard app from a cab file..... the only way I could fix it was a hard reset.

How to *really* hard reset Universal to factory condition

With all this talk about WM5 devices not really resetting everything after a hard reset, and my device being dead and not recovering after a hard reset makes me think, there must be an alternate way to really hard reset a device back to factory condition.
I tried a lot of combinations of presses to no end. The only thing I am suspicious about but did not play with is a red/white round sticker (which looks like it is hiding a button) under the battery (upper left corner).
Anyone know what that is, or is there a way to do a harder reset? Taking the battery out for a few days did not help either.
Because flash memory actually needs erasing rather than just resetting I doubt it is possible to clear it with a simple button press. It may be you can do a normal hard reset and hold down a button to bypass loading data from the flash then format it. But I've no idea really.

Re-flash the ROM?
uuummm some where in this forum i read that if you have wm2005 and go to boot loader mode you get an option over there to clear the cache or memory something like that, and that would give you a clean installation.....
haven't tried it though.....and i doubt i would get such an option in wm2003se, also i have a similar problem i did a complete flash reinstallation of rom to my device and after the installation i opened windows media player (wasnt the first thing i opened, but didnt copy any files)and guess what....i had a song available over there..... which i could actually play and it did....i checked the location of the file and it was somewhere in my device or documents dont quite remember i did a hard reset again and same issue....
after that i have'nt tried anything the rom is same i just deleted the folder manually but i would also like to know how to TOTALLLLLLY ERASE ALL DATA from the device and clean install everything
regards
on the XDA II and WM5 you hold down the buttons to resent stage then i gives you three options. One of these I am sure clears the phone
I hard reset my Universal several times (well I think I did at least)
Press the soft reset plus the two "-" buttons and you will have a white screen asking if you want to put back your HTC back factory default
Unfortunately that standard hard reset, doesn't do it. I am still stuck at reboot, and the radio rom version shows the attempted upgrade version (01) that started the problem in the first place.
i tried some of them according to herein, but some of them were not function.

there's a little icon called "clear storage" which brings your settings to the factory's default. what's wrong with it?
i'm stuck too in bootloader with my mda pro

Click to collapse
This may be too late, but there's no way to do any sort of a reset to revert back to a previous ROM... the only thing you can do is reflash the earlier ROM.

ok ... now the final BIG request ... who can give us an update that works. the patched Maupgradeut_noid is not working with the latest upgrade.
thanks.
To revert back to clean copy of OS (i.e newly installed OS)
Hi,
Just to share with you my experience in reverting my phone to its original OS condition. Before that, just to give you guys some background.
1. Upgraded from PPC2003 to WM5
2. Tried install some patch to enable file transfer (OBEX) in BT
3. Suddenly, the phone screen gone missing. Phone shows No Signal. Cannot receive call.
3a. Did a OS reflash again, but still does not solve the problem.
4. **Panic for a moment **
5. Looked thro Program Files, and seems like some appln i installed were not erased despite doing a hard reset. So, i guess the hard reset doesnt erase some portion of the memory
6. Googled for a solution, but most said do hard reset
7. Went back xda-developers.com site to look for solution
8. Finally found a method. see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1164331 to do a format on the memory
Now, my phone is working fine. The phone screen is back and it shows my telco name, and can receive call
Hope this helps.
Rgds,
Choon
you're in the wrong forum mate

Atom can't boot up after a soft reset/hard reset

Hello all,
I have a problem with my Atom. After performing a soft reset or a hard reset device can't boot up, it stack on "O2" image. To open again the device i have to take out the battery. And this doesn't work with the first time.I have to take out the battery many times. I've updated it with the latest firmware, but i have again the same issue.
Please help me!!
If it won't boot up at all and you have the option of returning it, you might consider that. If you fiddle around with it in this state and you do something that would void your warranty on an already non working device it would be a shame. On the other hand if you have already messed upgrading roms and the like check the forums there must be a way to boot into a bootloader on the Atom and a way to restore it from a backup (I have a Wizard so I'm not too familiar with the Atom, but I'm pretty sure there must be a way to restore it). Remember though if you still have the option return it and get another one. Hope your able to fix this, good luck.
Unfortunately i don't have the option to return it because i bought it used from another person. And if i had the option to do this, it's a little tricky because i live in Greece and it must be returned to Hong Kong!
In that case check the forums there should be some info around there. If I see anything, I'll be sure to let you know.
boot up after a soft reset
Hi there
I faced the same problem and i managed to fix it by booting to bootloader mode and reinstalling the rom.
If you asking how to boot to bootloader mode just press SR button+Cmera
Good luck
masr1979 thank you for your interest!
ZaZuRaZ thanks for the reply! I'll give it a try and i'll post any feedback!
ZaZuRaZ i did what you said, but the problem is still there.
i duno if this will help but i had the same problem before. the thing was when i performed a soft reset it was too quick, thats why the atom froze on the o2 screen. i read the manual and it says you have to press and hold it, so everytime i do a soft reset i hold it for 2 seconds (let the o2 screen flash twice before releasing it) and it should be in off state. works fine now with about 90+ soft resets.
I had same problem... In my case it was from third party software - Softic card export. HR help me solve this problem.
I have the same problem at least 2 times and HR won't even save it. (Take out the battery doesn't work for me either)
Like ZaZuRaZ, I fixed it by booting the Atom in the bootloader mode and re-install the rom.
Isn't that HR should bring the macine to manufacture setting and I really don't understand why HR can't save the machine !!!
Mine is on the way to Hong Kong for comatose condition
I sold my Atom because of this problem.
Now i found one Atom-it's amazing device, maybe the best ppc now-but i'm stuck if i'll buy it or not. I don't want pay too much € again, and still got the same problems.
Dammit, i don't know what to do.
hey...whats the SR button for bootload?

Wing Reboot Issue

Question for the geniuses in the group: When I reboot my Wing, sometimes it hangs and has to be rebooted (soft boot) several times - today it was over 12! Does anyone else have this problem with the Wing? I don't have too much tinkering going on...
I have changed the pagepool to 6MB
I have SPB Phone Suit
total Commander
SMS Notification turned off
SPB Mobile Shell
And that's about it. Anyone else have this issue and if so, what have you done to resolve it?
Thanks in advance, Jamie
how did you change the pagepool?
On the wm6.1 roms, you can't use the old method because there is a different pagepool offset.
I just have WM6, not 6.1
I don't understand what you're asking... when you say it hangs do you mean it goes into boot loop? or just freezes?
You can try to rename \Windows\omap850_sdhc.dll to omap850_sdhc.dll.old and reboot... maybe that will help?
I mean that when I do a soft reboot or power it off and on again, it will hang/freeze while it's rebooting. Only part of the screen will load and the round pie looking thing will just spin and spin forever. It doesn't happen every time, but it's annoying when it does because it can take 5-10 additional soft reboots before windows mobile will load properly and my today screen shows up.
Hope that helps explain a little better
that's strange. If it were my phone, I'd hard reset or reflash the rom.
mine did this and i had to remove the micro sd card. then it would boot right up. hope that helps

Wizard boot up then goes to white screen

Hi XDAers,
I have tried a number of things and is at a loss - I have a 2 years IMAT KJAM Wizard G4. The problem occured 2 days ago when the device just freezed on me. I did a soft reset, booted fine but then came up after the initial load screen (WizardLove AKU 2) with a white screen.
I have reloaded the IPL, flashed the ROM with WizardLove again, Hard reset back to factory defaults, soft resets the works.
After ROM flash it boots up, i get ActiveSync to load and connect fine. but with in 5 - 10 after having the phone up and working the screen goes white.
If any one has any idea what could up with the Wizard device please let me know?
Regards,
Hennie
I have the same problem!
Not sure how hard it is to fix but it seems to be a component issue,
Iknow its a different phone but check out:

I havent tried it yet but it worked for them

Renamed pim.vol now phone stuck on boot screen

I wanted to remove all the contact from my HTC, so following some postings on the net, I renamed my pim.vol file to pim_old.vol and turned my phone off, then back on. Apparently it should then create a new pim.vol file.
However, my HTC has been stuck ont he Windows Mobile boot screen for at least 10 minutes now.
Is the phone screwed, or would you expect it to take a long time to reboot?
Thanks.
Also, it made a 'pleep' noise when it brought up the Windows Mobile screen. I don't know if that is significant?
Hi there
Did you try soft reset, hard reset, take the battery out ? If yes can you get into bootloader and be ready to flash another rom ?
Hi,
yes I have tried all of those things.
Even after a hard reset it does the same, gets to the Windows Mobile boot screen and stays there. I don't think it gets far enough into the boot to connect it to a PC, Activesync said there was something missing and couldn't connect.
Hi
This is strange as you just renamed a windows file which should be corrected by a hard reset
Hard reset again and be patient (give it some time )
if not corrected Try flashing a rom from SD card
I left it for an hour after the hard reset, and still nothing. I had to take the battery out in the end to turn the phone off.
I have no idea how to flash from a ROM on an SD card?
I think you'll find the answer here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=406721
Good luck
If you hear the beep sound, you should be able to plug in your USB cable and activesync will know that your HTC is inserted.
I have tried that but ActiveSync says there are components missing and then won't connect to the phone.
Reinstalled Activesync?
