HELP! Comp does not recognize Wizard - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Guys,
I need help here, a few days ago, I changed my USB since all of a sudden, the phone can't be charged. Then, after the USB got changed, I am able to charge the Wizard... but the strange thing happened, my comp does not recognize the Wiz, it does not even show any device at all. I tried to do all the stuffs, like:
- install/uninstall Active sync
- update active sync
- restart comp several times
- even hard reset my Wiz a couple times
All of em are not working. Would any of u guys have this problem before? Any ideas why? Is it time to say good bye? =(

do a system restore to a date you know that worked. something happens with the usb drivers and the way the phone talks to the pc, not sure on the how or why. but whenever i downgrade, when i go to install the new rom, it says unrecognizeable, system restore usually does the trick.

I forgot to mention that I did bring it to the repair shop, and all the computers that they have cannot recognize my phone... when they plugged in their USB to my phone, their activesync can't recognize it even though it's charging...
So, I don't think it's the problem w/ my comp. Anyone has any other ideas?
Thanks tho...

Go to this page and get a new PC USB cable or cradle. It may also be the internal USB port on your device.

EDIT:: It could possibly be a virus on your device. I hate to say that but I just remembered that a friend of mine had the same problem when he got a virus on his device. Also, have you ever dropped the device or gotten it wet?

gone and broke it

any help is gratefully received.
i was doing a rom update(pugs) and the unit has become stuck in what i think is bootloader mode. the screen is dark and displays "serial v1.01
after much searching on this forum i tried to hard reset then run maupgradeut again.
problem is that activesync no longer detects my device.
ive tried pressing power/reset/action buttons to no effect.does this mean i now have a pretty coffee coaster.
now you were at bootloader mode. try remove the device n put it back on cradle, for sure windows will detect it. after that, try run the upgrade again. The problem that you're having now are same like me when I first bought my device. The answer is good being a newbies n ready to ask question at here. hahahahah
thanks
now youve hit the nail squarely on the head. i thought i knew enough to update but when its gone boobies up realised i dont.
ive tried resetting the device and then connecting to my pc several times with no success.
anyone know how to take the device out of bootloader mode. im hoping theres a backup stored on the device that will boot...or...anyone know how to get the pc to recognise the damn thing before i launch it out of the window(all the way to an o2 shop).
im sure im not alone(can hear the voices)
took some brain power on my part. turns out microsoft activesync was the problem.
upgraded to the latest version and everything went as it should.

prophet radio os problem

hey guys, it was last week when i do rom update for the first time. i didnt do any hard SPL because it was my first time to update it ( i really dont know what to do, i thought the update thing is just like SE/Nokia phones ), it stops at 48% and cant on anymore, only can enter boot loader. So i was very confused and i tried and tried to update it again and again, didnt work at all. Few hours later, i called up a friend of mine and send my phone to him and hope that he could clean the mess that i make. After he check the device, he told me that my SPL is screwed, and he said he might unbrick my phone, and so, he unbrick it. But the other problem is, there is no sound frm the speaker eventho im playing a sound in the device, i insert a sim card into it and no network is detected, i cant connect it to activesync. and eventho i unplug the usb cable, the charging icon will not go off ( it shows "connected and charging" ). my friend says that it is the radio ROM problem, and he dont know why he cant reflash the radio rom. any help?
Hi, I can't help you with your problem, I'm sorry, but I want to tell you something. I bought my Qtek S200 Used, and it was "broken" (it couldn't boot). Whit the help of this web I flashed it and it works perfectly, except that I have a similar problem, when I plug in the charger, nothing happens, lets say, no lights, and the icon, with or without charger, it always shows like it's charging, I couldn't saw ever the battery status. If I go to Settings -> power, it says Battery Status: UNKNOWN
BUT it charges when you plug the charger. I really don't know what the problem is, but you are giving me some hope that maybe it's a software problem.
I couldn't change the radio rom until 2 weeks ago or so, I flashed it with another rom and the problem is the same, nothing have changed. Do you have any clue? what radio rom where you using ?
Good Luck =)
PS: The active sync recognizes my phone but i couldn't ever synchronize it . I don't have any other problem, the speaker works well as the other things also.
Can you get access to another battery?
It should be possible to flash a radio ROM when the device is in bootloader.
hmmmm. i my activesync wont even recognize my phone at all =( tried to change the battery but wont work. i send it to the repair service center and they said that its the radio rom problem and they said that the only way to solve it is to change the mother board which i know its not the mother board problem and the mother board cost around RM800 (200 usd).... even in bootloader the phone wont connect to the comp.....
i know that maybe it's stupid to ask, but have you tryed with another cable?
When you are in bootloader and you connect the phone to the pc, the "USB" label shows itself there or not?
I'm asking because i had also some strange problems with my prophet, but always when i've plugged it, it sayd 'usb'.
yes, i did tried another cable. and it shows USB in the device when i connect it to the comp, even when i disconnect it from the device, it still shows USB and Charging. And no connection detected from the computer, not even activesync.
I really don't know what to say :S
We'll just have to wair until some of the geniuses of this forums gives you an answer :S
Have you tryed another pc

USB problems anyone?

Hello
I'm having some USB problems:
The device seems to disconnect after a few minutes, sooner with intense usb activity (like copying files)
I tried with 2 cables, 3 computers and with both XP and linux
However 3 days ago it didn't seem to act like this, altough at the time I didn't use the device so much (I was busy exporting/importing the contacts into HTC)
I tried hard reset, didn't work
I can only think of 2 possibilities: either there is a problem with the usb driver in the device, ori there is some problem with the electrical connection somewhere on the device
So, the question is - does anyone else experience the same problem?
Thanks
I think, that device disconnects when it goes to sleep mode (my device does it). When it is on USB, it acts like it it on charger, so simply make charger sleep time longer. It is quite annoying, but only solution so far.
No, it's not that, my device doesn't go to sleep when connected to a power source, anyway I tried to disable sleep mode completely and it still gets disconnected.
Interesting, the device still belives it's connected (I see the icon at the top of the screen), but the PC end is down.
Never had such issue. Maybe you could try to contact HTC Tech Support... But as the hard reset didn't help, I'm sorry to say, maybe you should consider a warranty claim. Might be a bad connector or something.
Ups sorry, i didn't read correctly the original post.
Maybe, it´s will be the energy-management from PC?
Look in device-manager in the properties of the USB-Port, try to disable the "Energy management". Please post the result here.
Greetings Mirko
Tried that too. Same result
Hello 4EST,
please use only the origional USB cable to connect PC and XDA! You got to pull the Mini USB side as you can´t see the silver part!!!
The connetion lost when you act at the cable?
Somethimes it seems only to be connectet right.
Greetings
Rescue01, I used the original cable, the problem is exactly the same.
Here is an update:
I sent the device for reparis to HTC. The device came back "reflashed", but the problem still pesisted from the first power-up. In other words, they fixed nothing, didn't even bother to check if it worked right
I sent the device back again for repairs, very angry, talking to the call center. This time they opened the device (I can see it on the screws), did something to it, then reflashed the device again.
And it worked perfectly, with all the cables and the computers I tested before........for a while....... Because after ~4-5 days of usage the problem started to reappear more and more.
Now, as I just tested, the USB gets disconnected after only 5sec of reading from the device. Sometimes it lasts longer, like 2 min
So my opinion is that there is an electric problem, I would guess with the USB connector
Unfortunately for me, the service center even if they fixed the problem last time, they did NOT checked for it before fixing it and assumed everything was ok the first time and blaimed the USB cables/computers for the problem. They said something like "sadly, after checking the electrical connections and reflashing, the device works perfectly". And it did for a few days...
Here is an update:
I send the device for the 2nd time to the service center, this time calling them angry about not fixing it for the 1st time.
The device came back quickly. This time they opened the device (I can see it on the screws), and the USB connection actually WORKED!..........for a while.....
After 3-4 days it started disconnecting again, having less and less USB connection time.
Now I have to try to get it conencted, as sometimes it disconnects right after connecting

Phone automatically triggers Navi-Panel.

Firstly,i would like to apologise for making another thread with the same topic if there's any.I've searched the forums and most of the threads seem to be 'Dead'.
Last week,my phone had something strange going on.When it's at sleep mode,it automatically lights up.I picked it up and i see this thing called the 'Navi-Panel'.The screen was in landscape mode. The only thing that i can access was the phone.I managed to exit the Navi-Panel through the task manager but the problem's still there,my phone and my SMS are in landscape. Also, the phone calls that i make and received are always on loudspeaker mode.I also cannot connect the phone to the computer via the USB. I've tried various ways to fix the phone such as hard reset and rom flashing but it's still the same.I'm currently on the Stock rom version 1.66.707.1(76641) WWE. Can someone post a solution for my problems?
It happened to me twice when a tiny drop of water dropped on the micro usb slot, creating a temporary short circuit.
Make sure the slot is clean, (no conductor material inside).
It may be a small chance, but it is still a chance...
I have the same problem
My phone got wet last night due to rain. And the Navi panel kept coming up. So I set the option for Navi panel not to have an automatic launch. Thats fine now, but I got another problem to sort through. When ever I pick up a call the speaker is automatically turned ON. Its embarrassing now. I am just hoping its temporary..
If anyone has an idea on how to turn off the automatic speaker on call pick up, pls let me know.. Thanks in advance.
Whats more is: I cant connect to the Activesync now. The phone is charging well though.
I can probably live with that since I can connect through Blue Tooth. Hoever, if someone has any idea on how to turn off the "Auto external Speaker mode", pls let me know .. any registry key ... or any other means.
Thanks in advance.
This happened to me a few months back now on a wet evening, assuming the phone must have got wet through my pocket. Tried everything to fix it, left it to dry out for 24 hours near radiator with the battery out to no avail. But then flashed a new ROM and it started working. (Had to flash the same ROM three times till it started working. Every ROM since has been fine)
Hope this helps.
Thanks .. That gives me a hope. Could you pls tell me what ROM you flashed.. may be its something to do with that specific ROM..
Activesync died...
Thanks all of you who contributed to the forum. My HD2's activesync stopped working yesterday... and main challenge was to put shipped ROM and send it to the repair...
There is only one thing that I could not explain... When OS is up and running (regardless whether it is cooked or shipped) there is no active sync can be established (only charge function is working). However, when phone is in boot loader (RGB screen) I could connect it thru USB and install ROM from computer...
switch off quick sync on HD2

Thanks for trying to help XAH, but this was the first thing in my troubleshooting process. Usually it helps when you plug in the phone, computer acknowledges it, but pop in warning sign that USB device is not recognized. In my case there was no reaction (on multiple computers) - like nothing is plugged in... Will see what repairer says... I'll post an update as soon as I'll hear from them.
got my HD2 from repair centre
I've got my HD2 back from repair centre... and it works fine... most bizzar part is paper say that nothing was done...
a friend of me hat this problem some time ago. it disappeared after about 1 or 2 weeks iirc.
Same problem for me, but i've changed 5 diferent rom's and nothing...i will try the airdryer now

I think I cooked my USB functionality.

Hey gang. Wondering if you can help me with a strange issue I've got. I can't seem to connect my phone to my computer via USB. Wondering if anyone could help determine if there's a possibility of repair or not.

So, my USB is acting up. Has been for the last few months, where although it charges when I plug into a computer, it's not connecting to allow data transfer. I haven't been too terribly worried, this happened before then cured itself when I did a factory reset. The thing that usually triggered it was when I tried connecting to my linux box in media player mode. The phone would just kinda lock up, I'd have to restart it and then USB wouldn't connect. But after doing the factory reset it was fine the first time. THIS time however, since I'd just left it stock now I'm itching to flash a custom rom but even though I've wiped the whole stupid phone totally clean, it still won't connect. I'm trying to follow a method on an article on dkszone.net called "Bypass E - Signature Verification Fail Issue On Vibrant Android 2.2".
So it seems I need USB for the debug mode.
What I think my main problem is, and where I need some help, is that I had purchased a super cheapwad USB car charger off of amazon for like 35 cents. Every time I connected to it, my phone would ask me if I wanted to connect using kies, media player mode, or data storage mode. I thought it was annoying but didn't really think it would harm anything. But now that I'm thinking about it, it's probably been pumping 5v into each pin on the USB port, whereas the USB functionality uses probably 3.3v, and I'm afraid I cooked something.
The random part here though is that about 5% of the time it does (sortof) connect. It brings up the USB options when I want to connect, brings up the icon saying it's using debug mode, etc. But my machine just reports that it didn't recognize the USB device. So, I'm thinking it's on the fritz, but figured I'd check here to see if I could possibly find a ray of hope.

You can use ADB over tcpip. There's many a free widget to enable it on google play or Do it manually
Thanks for that, I had been wondering if there wasn't a way to do that over wifi. My issue is that sadly I haven't even rooted the phone. ADB over WiFi requires root, whether I do it manually or use one of those super sweet apps.
So anyways, guess what?
My brother in law has the same phone I do, and I grabbed his phone one day and plugged it into my computers and had the same problem as with my own, and I know he hadn't plugged into the same charger I had, hadn't tried the media mode on Linux like I had (which were what I thought were the big contributing factors). SO, I kept digging, found that I hadn't quite yet cleaned it properly. I'd tried my best to clean it but until I swabbed it well with some rubbing alcohol it wasn't as clean as it should've been.
Long story short, I'm backing everything up so I can start flashing roms.
Moral: just clean the dang thing really well
