I overclocked my iPAQ hw6945.
I'm using xCPUScalar to scale my CPU to 520mhz.
It runs much better now.

Hey i noticed u guys talking about overclocking the TyTn. Is this true? Can we overclock? I like to check how much we can speed it up. Man, if we go any faster, it will be like having a laptop in our pockets. Please let me know if there are noticeable difference and how much you can overclock the TyTn.
I am currently overclocking with xcpuscalar. I believe you can also overclock using pocket hackmaster. I am oc'ing to 472, although it is perfectly stable at 500. I wish I could the damn autoscale to work properly but it keeps shutting itself off.
Does the TyTn feel any faster when overcloked?

I haven't run any benchmarks. And honestly it doesn't feel any faster. It already fly's. I rarely have it bog down.

Part of that may be that XCPUScalar is designed for the Intel XScale family of processors. Someone I know tried Hackmaster but it didn't work very well. He posted to Anton Tomov's website about the issue on the TyTN's Samsung processor.

XCPUScalar seems to work fine at 500. Tried Hackmaster too, but
its froze my TyTN. Working autoscale would be sweet thou.
Gotta try and find some benchmarking programs to compare the speeds.
Any suggestions for a good one?
Must be working thou, since setting the processor to 100, makes the device very very slow.
Hmm, it seems XCPUScalar is faking the speeds, it works when "underclocking" but not when overcloking.
Cant try with pocket hack master, since it frozes up with any speed I try to test.
Has anyone been able to overclock the Samsung CPU yet? XCPUScalar doesn't seem to be working correctly as it was designed for XScale or TI OMAP... not the Samsung CPU.

It´s dangerous ; my gene is OC'ed up to 260 MHz, with OC up to 273MHz the little GPU give me artifacts in some games.. I prefer this frecuency with the CPU Scaler (in Batterystatus) but into the BOOST square.. Regards

How in the world you got this craziest idea? The safe limit of overclocking GENEis 246 Mhz. Anything over that will fry your device sooner or later. And you are giving this freaking idea to others too without considering any study? How in the world could you become so irresponsible man!
Even with 246 MHz the temprature of the processor rises to 48 degrees which is way high then normal. Overclocking always shortens the life of the phone, but doing it to above the mark of 246 can actually damage the device by frying the processor and motherboard. So do change you clock speeds to some sane number, for your own good.
better add a cooling fan to ur processor...before overclocking it...lol

Yeah PDA not a phone LOL . So a little bit of overclocking is required if you want to get the best out of your device (but with some sensibility). Overclocking should be at the max 20% of your CPU speed. Better Idea is to use CPU Scalar (i.e. dynamically adjust CPU speed).
Same devices like HTC HD2 with Snapdragon, when you overclock the CPU, the same happens with GPU...
But in our case ( defy ) is not the same...
By default ( where i know ) PowerVR SGX530 it's runing AT 200Mhz, but can run higher, than 200mhz ( 400mhz i think ).
We can overclock the GPU to get more 3D performance, witouth sacrificate the battery?
Why do you think the GPU can run at twice the default clock speed?

Ok, but is there any way to overclock the GPU? at 250 or 300mhz maybe?

dunno about you guys, but as far as i know, the gpu is integrated in the cpu chip (its like an extra core so to say), so it should be overclocked with the cpu. and whenever i ocd the cpu, i experienced graphics improvements, so i think, thats the answer, they oc together.

No they do not OC together i am afraid. Most of Android UI is being drawn by CPU and not by GPU as many thinks :/
Well, I've experienced minor changes when OCing my Defy from 1ghz to 1.3ghz, when using Neocore... it went from 39fps to 39.3 fps, but such small changes are expected, even without OC...

I'm absolutely happy with my HD2 but I'd like something that the performance increases.
Is there a possibility to overclock the GPU? Cpu is yes to either 1.2 GHz or 1.5 GHz but the power play in is not very noticeable so I would appreciate if you could overclock the gpu order to get more performance out there.!

there is an app on the market that allows for GPU overclocking , i didnt use it personally just search overclock in the market and look at the different results . I have no problem with the performance of CPU overclocking , i always thought the CPU was the one in charge of graphics rendering .

Good point . But couldn't that lead to more problems ? Too high of gpu could cause failure in stability but the CPU can handle the high oc ?

yea i really wouldnt recommend touching that, as far i remember we are already running diff os's that stretch are gpu and cpu with hacks and kernels etc....

446 MHz and 1150 on my Nexus 7. Been tried with 520, 484 but doesn't notice much improve over 416 or 446 so I'm stick with 446 seem good balance between performance and power saving for me.
Try Motley if you want a bit more fps like 4-10 constantly on Quadrant at same GPU speed of any others but M-kernel still have better overall performance (if you like to play with setting) IMO.
