donnu if anyone noticed this, but when i sync my BA with PC automatically my clock on BA is changed to be +1 hour than actual time.
mails on exchange also arive with the changed time.
i change it back while connected but it just returns back.
i disconnect and change it, still the outlook e-mails come with wrong time.
anyone facing this?
Me too on my XDA IIs
U open Active Sync, under tools ---> option ---> setting, U just disable the "Synchronize time to PC" and this may temporary solve you problem.

Can anyone please help with a problem I have noticed on my Imate Jasjar. I have configured Push Email and mail is being received realtime as it should. My difficulty is when replying or sending a new email it will remain in the Outbox on the device until another new message arrives from the Exchange Server or a manual Sync is initiated on the device.
Is this normal behaviour?
I have ticked 'Send outgoing items immediately' under Schedule in ActiveSync settings but it doesn't seem to have any effect.
Has anybody else noticed this?
Hi,
Did you find a resolution for this?
I have a XDA Mini and just set it up with DirectPus exchange. Emails are arriving on the device okay, but send items seem to sit in the outbox. They only go when I receive another email or force a sync.
Like you I have ticked the "Send immediately" box but that doesn't work.
This problem is making the directpush more or less useless as I keep forgetting to force a sync and then hours later realise why I haven't had a reply - it's still sat in the outbox!!
Help!

Rbmerlin,
I found a solution - with no thanks to Imate or Microsoft though. (Both blamed each other for thee problem and no one wanted to take any responsibiity!)
The solution is to set ther ActiveSync on the device without using the PC ActiveSync. Initially I set up ActiveSync on the desktop and the settings propogated to the device which was synced.
By trial and error I discovered that when ActiveSync is setup on the Jasjar by itself all is good and the Sync functions as it had with previous non-push roms.
I have tried this with serveral of my customers devices and problem is resolved. Hoping rhis helps you out.
Hi, I've an IMAP email account setup on my phone (nothing to do with Outlook). I've unticked the box to auto check for new messages every n minutes, but whenever I activesync it gets the new messages. I can't for the life of me find out why it's doing this, any one have any ideas?
Activesync
When you first connected the device, there was an option what to synch, and by default email is one of the things. You can fix it by synching, then choosing Tools/Options from the PC menu and unchecking Email. (It doesn't synch notes by default, which you can also fix here.)

Thanks for the reply. That only applies to Outlook email though doesn't it? I'm talking direct to the IMAP server here, it just seems to do an automatic send/receive when doing an activesync.

When I had that box checked, it synched whatever mail was up -- for me it synched Pop mail. I don't know if that means it would also synch exchange.
Thanks for the help, maybe that's it then. I unchecked the box, but it came up with a warning that all email on the PPC would be removed - not particularly desirable! In any event I quite like the feature, just would like to know how it happened as I'd never seen it do it before.
Anyone ever seen this issue?
My Trinity isn't actively receiving push e-mail. It has up until now. I know it's now my server because when I use the Treo push works fine. However, with the Trinity Active Sync isn't syncing in the background.
As soon as I open Active Sync it begins to sync automatically and I receive my mail. Other wise I get nothing.
I haven't changed any settings recently. Active Sync is still allowed to run in the background etc.
(assuming you have't done so) have you soft resetted the device and then tried to sync? also, i had to remove the sync relationship and re-establish the relationship. that resolved my problem in the past.
I have tried soft resetting several times.
If I delete the exchange settings from my device and then re-add them will I end up with doubles of contacts/calendar when the first sync occurs?
You need to go into active directory and restart and stop the mobile services in the exchange general tab. I have noticed that the push mail settings do sometimes hang.
Hello,
I have a problem when trying to receive Outlook email on my Tytn. When I send/receive the message at the bottom says connecting etc and then finishes without actually downloading any emails. I have also tried in Activesync but have the same problem. Everything else from the server is syncing ie. contacts, calender with no problem. For a test I added the Sent Items folder to the receive options in Outlook and this did work and downloaded my sent items but still no Inbox items. I also trimmed my desktop inbox down to 10 emails but this didn't work either. Any ideas?
Cheers,
Yostin.
try changing the folders (from your mailbox) which are sync'd
first i'd say make sure junk sync is off
also try changing the mail format and or size limit; i.e. plain text upto 50kb etc. etc.
hope this helps
Try sending/receiving with your outlook open on your PC. We determined that our antivirus was not checking the mail until outlook was opened, and not allowing the mail to be sent to the device since it hadn't been scanned. Simple change in the AV fixed.
Thanks for the replies. What I have found is that if I do a hard reset, set up Activesync without connecting to my PC and the sync over the 3G network it works. When I run my SPB backup file to get things back to where I was, it obviously doesn't work again. I remember setting up Activesync originally with my PC connected so this seems to have screwed things up somehow. I tried deleting the association in Activesync but this didn't work. Does anybody know which settings I should be looking for to correct this problem? I know I could just reinstall everything and adjust my settings again but I would like to know the cause of this problem and fix it instead.
Cheers,
Yostin.
Hello,
Recieved my HD yesterday and am still setting it up, sync center works fine so long as I dont have "Contacts, Calender, Email or Tasks" ticked.
If they are ticked the sync process never finishes but the progress bar will cycle endlessly.
I have Outlook 2007 installed but have never really used it before so I could be missing something, afaik my email accounts have been configured correctly and Outlook appears to be working correctly.
Anyone have any insight into this problem?
TIA
Dave

Can you sync with your Exchange server over the air (using data connection)? I know I have never been able to sync with our OWA (Outlook Web Access) address when plugged in to USB but I can over the air just fine. Same thing where it cycles endlessly. I can with other Exchange servers just not where I am currently syncing with. It has something to do with their network settings here where I work.
I'm trying to sync with my home PC, I have no exchange server.
To be honest I'm a bit lost with outlook, never really used it before - I have always used Outlook Express for email.
how long do you wait before giving up? first time synch usually takes a while, could go up to an hour or so.
I've waited up to 30 mins with no advance on the "windows mobile device center" progress bar "sync center" is cycling the progress bar as if it is initiallising.
Have tried wiping out my phones contact list and syncing one contact with same result - just uninstalled Office and reinstalled outlook from supplied HTC CD with same result.
had that problem also.
had to uninstall the wm device center (had it twice, so i uninstalled both) then reinstalled the latest version (drvupdate-amd64.exe in my case).
now everything works just fine.
Just tried that twice and unfortunatly is seems to have not worked - Thanks for the help here guys, anyone else got anu nuggets of info that could help me?
Seems to be sorted now - Pretty sure it is an AVG firewall issue, "allow all" lets me sync.
Thanks for the suggestions guys.
Well I'm still completly lost - AVG firewall is definatly the problem here but I cant figure out how to fix it perminantly.
I'm used to setting rules in firewalls to allow certain programs but cant for the life of me find out what specific .exe or service is required to be enabled for outlook contacts, emails or notes to sync.
My temp fix involves setting AVG firewall to "allow All" - the phone will sync instantly but set to my default profile only files, favorites etc .... will sync
Anyone had this problem or know how to fix it?
Managed to track it down
AVG 8.5 Tools>Firewall Settings>'Profile'>System Services>Windows RPC Service - Set to 'Allow For Safe' for those with the same problem.
Thanks once again for peoples input.
