Everyone knows French people love bureocracy, laws and snails.
They have a fu$##@@!ing law to limit the output of everything susceptible of being used with headphones, (As well as a law to limit Wifi Watts however no law against cheese smell levels).
I happen to have HW6915 French version (no problem here i can read and write frog) however i would like to have more than 15dB output from my headphones when i'm listening to Pink Floyd. (and 0 when listening to my wife but that's another history)
Do some1 knows a registry hack for this (they're too lazy to have it hardware limited i'd reckon)

Disaster!!!
I sent them a mail regarding the "jointstereo" default value for the A2DP profile (you can find the details in another thread). I specified all details of the problem.
reply 1: can you please tell which headset you are using (I had already told them)
reply 2: There is no reason why your mobilephone doesn't work with the A2DP headset. It is possible that the headset is faulty. Can you please try with other headsets (I had already written that I had tried more than one and it was a problem with stereo output not with the headset not working)
reply 3: they reply in Italian (because of my name - I had always used English so far) that the SE HBH-DS970 is not compatible and the SE website does not report the HTC P3600 as compatible. I write back in ENGLISH that it is not a matter of compatibility but a matter of a registry setting and I point them to this forum so that they can see there is a solution.
reply 4: "I am sorry but we can only offer email support in English." The only person using Italian in previous messages was someone from HTC support! I write back "I have always written in English. You should really put your act together"
reply 5: the registry modification described in the forum is against warranty terms and will void your warranty. (!!!) I wrote back asking what the supported way is to have stereo output without voiding the warranty.... waiting for reply 6....
This is ridiculous!
Update: maybe this is reply 6....
The following message to <[email protected]> was undeliverable.
The reason for the problem:
5.4.7 - Delivery expired (message too old) 'timeout'
Talk about BAD support! Feel with you man! But I must admit this is the first time I hear about HTC' support beeing this bad... I know they can be slow, and somewhat "unclear" on the replies(i.e. the GPS questions), but this was just plain old bad support....
Hope HTC reads this and apologizes...

Well I could also mention that when you send a message you receive the same reply twice from two different addresses (one is the generic customer support address and one is a person - who keeps changing at every reply) and if you reply back to both addresses then your problem becomes two problems and you start getting different answers from different people. Or the fact that every time they forward the problem internally the ProblemID field gets changed so everything becomes a total mess.
I deleted the first few messages but these are the subjects for the last 6 I have received:
Problem ID 061206em09545176
Problem ID 061203EM16144174

I just hope this device works the way it should otherwise it's going to be big trouble!
No surprise, that happens when HTC outsources support, and does not provide proper training to the callcenters... HTC fans could explain this with their rapid growth, and lots of fires to put out on the way, but since they are also reporting double digit profit increases every year, they should spend on proper support, in house. HTC´s center for Europe is in Britain, and even a customer from there is not serviced right. What can other countries expect, that do not even have a service center?
Until recently it was easy for HTC - "just call your operator", but now it´s their turn...

>So what is the approved solution to fix this problem?
There's no approved official solution!
If Microsoft creates a protocol with your SonyEricsson stereo BT headset settings then the A2DP fuctunality will stop working on other BT stereo headsets with the standard configuration.
It's sounds a dilema but at least you know that following the instructions on the XDA forum the problem is sorted and probably is what you need to do to overcome this problem.
Another idea is to contact SonyEricsson and check for updates.
I think it's already fixed now.
Does anyone know of an application that can be used to send audio picked up phrom the phone microphone in speakerphone mode and send the audio via BT to a headset, and thats all, basically I would like to be able to put my phone downand listen into conversations, I need this so that I can "adjust" my sales techniques.
Your having a laugh right?
I don't think that the circumstances for your suggested use are particularly edifying. Sitting with a phone in-front of you transmitting the conversation one way to another endpoint is not very honest of you. Perhaps your technique could be improved by extra training, listening honestly to the customer, etc.
It is technically possible to do what your asking but ethically it is not great.
If you were to leave the phone out of view it would be a bigger risk as if discovered your business reputation would be shredded (and I doubt that your management would stand by you).
Have another think...There are many easier ways to improve your technique that carry a lower risk to your future.
Sam.
Alternatively...... iBaby will let you do this by calling another phone, so not quite what you're after, but it works really well.
Ethical issues aside - I don't think it's quite possible since to archieve what the original poster suggests, the phone must be having full-duplex capabilities for it's audio paths.
The idea is that you record something from the MIC and via BT audio gateway, you play it simultaneously. I read that most devices will stop playing when it starts recording.
You can easily do it if you're the FBI!
http://news.com.com/FBI+taps+cell+phone+mic+as+eavesdropping+tool/2100-1029_3-6140191.html
According to Fox news they have supposively mandated this technology be manditory in all phones sold in the US! I am always suspect of Fox News but they are more likely imho to report this as bunk than true!
Ethics
The issus I am dealin with is targeting my clients, but its not the clients I need to be able to listen into, its the other salesmen. They've been sabbotaging my efforts and I just need an upper hand. I have a BT headset and it works great, I was wondering if there is an app out there to route the mic to the headset

Hi all.
I am new to this forum and have spent a few hours looking at some of the the threads here and reading about kitchens and baking, flashing ROMs, etc, and have become a bit scared to venture in.
All I am after is a SIP VoIP client to install on my HTC Touch Cruise (running WM6).
Can anybody help point me in the right direction and what cab file/s I need to install.
I want to steer clear of flashing ROMs.
Thanks.

Hum, just a question: does you software provide voip audio from the right ear front speaker? If so you've found a new customer!
I (and probably everyone else making VoIP apps) wish it did - That would sure be a killer feature! We made the earphone speaker run on a few Sharp WM devices in Japan in the past because Sharp let us know the "DeviceIOControl" address of those devices. HTC on the other hand is as silent as can be and doesn't even react to our inquiries. But even if we knew the address it would result in a different version for each device as the address is very likely always a different one. So unless the phone supports switching in hardware (like a very few do) to begin with there is nothing that we (or anybody else) can do about the situation. We are working on proper bluetooth support though and hope that this can at least remedy the situation a little.

Your first sentence was very odd. Maybe it's an XDA joke, but I'm sorry, I didn't get it.
One thing from your website about the software, does it support G729 codec?
No joke intended.. blame my non native English for any oddities ;-) As for G.729 - yes, it can be integrated into the softphone and no, you can't use it without license rights and fees as the consortium holding the codec rights is not a merciful one.
Can anyone tell me if any of the available VoIP solutions available for WM6 will allow me to make and receive calls using my existing cell number? I know TMobile has this ability on a few of there phones.
Thanks,
mr.ellsworth
No solution to the last problem, but going back to the initial question: We have just released AGEphone Mobile 2.5 Speakerphone Edition which supports the internal speaker on some select models (more to follow!).
Hi!
I got a T-Mobile Ameo (x7500) and upgraded it to Win Mobile 6 with success.
I am having trouble with call recording when not being in speakerphone mode. I studied the postings about this topic, but actually it said "Athena can do this without modification".
I used Resco Audio Recorder and Vito Technology's Audio Notes and some other tools. These two programs, well were able to record but the other side was much too silent to comprehend.
I tried it with my Jabra Bluetooth headset and my HTC cable headset. There seems to be no difference to me.
Has any of you guys'n'girls the ICR on his phone, with better experience? Please tell me ;-)
CU, forcemaker
Really nobody of Athena/Advantage/Ameo folks using in call recording?
Hi there,
is eally nobody of Athena/Advantage/Ameo folks using in call recording?
Are there no success or even failure reports that you want to share?
Greetings from forcemaker
All these years have passed ... ;-) ... and no solution is found yet?
The user Menneisyys explains here (and linked pages) that the Athena was the only phone of its "generation" being able to do 2-way-call-recording (or ICR=In-call-recording). Then many phones were enabled with this feature by applying a simple registry hack.
But my Ameo (X7500, upgraded from Stock Wm5 to Stock WM6 ROM, german, by T-Mobile) was never able to do so. Today, for the first time, I chose to install other ROMs (Advantage_HTC_GER_2.21.407.1_1.50.00.00_Ship.exe, Advantage_HTC_WWE_2.21.405.2_1.50.00.00_Ship.exe) and different radio versions (1.5..... and 1.58....) without any change in the behaviour.
So, do you Athena owners have experience with 2-sided/way-call-recording?
Please share with me and us, as I am fed up with HTC devices "blocking" this function ... e.g. with my somewhat beloved HTC Desire (A8181, "Bravo"), where this story repeats itself.
Which ROM versions are you using, if ICR works for you?
edit 1: Oh, I forgot: I tried Resco Audio Recorder and also the solution from VITO and many others.
I am sorry for bothering you, but at this moment there are "1,082" views of this thread (some likely to be from me) ... but I cannot imagine that nobody is using any call recording function on his/her Ameo/Advantage/Athena of which you could give us (or me) a small report (Works/Doesn't work on ROM version XYZ with Recording software ABC) ?
Again sorry for bothering :-(
I think the activity has died down on this device, especially with the hacking community (which this site is mainly about) anyway.
I don't even know that this feature exists until I read this thread now. I have never used it much as a phone (battery life too short) myself, and probably most people use it as a data device mostly and thus the feature is largely missed by many.
I will check out your link to see what the deal is about in call recording as many phones won't do it, but a few will (not just smartphones), I think it has to do with legal ramification similar to there is no reason to block turning off the shutter sound on a phone camera, but they do it to discourage the perverts.
A group question, does anyone know a way to increase the audio power in the Mi9T?
-I have some Anker Soundcore Life 2 and the audi is heard softly ...

I can't tell you how but I did it and the sound through earphones on 3.5mm is a bit louder and better so my guess is it works for Bluetooth as well. Also in developer settings there's an option called "Deactivate Bluetooth max volume" or something like that (I'm roughly translating it from my language) anyway try that and let me know how it goes as I don't have Bluetooth earphones to try myself.

Probably good old confirmation bias - based on the superlative of an idiotic approach to "test" audio-related matters - by listening/thinking/feeling (instead of measuring)...
At least regarding the "3.5mm volume output increased after switching region to USA" claim (tested using UA Apollo > Logic and multiple EU regions/USA): Zero difference.

You can go **** yourself with that "I know everything hence I'm better" and it would do you good to rechoose your words and maybe be a bit more humble as that stupid attitude won't get you anywhere. Good day
