bluetooth carkit autoconnect fix - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

I'm having big trouble with my pioneer BT55 (Bluetooth carstereo) it needs to autoconnect like a nokia phone but it won't... i think the problem is that the wizard is shown as a intelligent-phone. Is it possible to let it detect as a normal bluetooth phone.
btw the auto connect function is switched on at the carkit...
i used BTHtools with tmob WM5 and it did connect on every established call. too bad it doesn't work with TNT WM6.
does anyone have a cab, tool, fix or registery edit to let it work?
i saw this
Solutions:
Change the COD (Class of Device) from a PDA device to a smartphone device.
This can be done this way:
1. First make sure you've got a backup, or remember all settings you change in the registry.
2. Edit with a registry editor the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\SY S\COD
By default my vario II does have the value: 1048852 (decimal)
Change this to: 5374476 (decimal).
3. Soft restart your device
4. Voila! Your device now identifies itself as a smartphone, and my pioneer unit finds it without problems.
but it doesnt support the autoconnect

Still unsolved?
I have similiar problem, my wizard connects to carstereo but when i turn radio off and on connection is lost. Only solution for restablishing connection is to turn bluetooth in wizard off and on again when radio is on. I've tried lots of programs and ROMs, and still problem occurs. It's very annoing, anyone solved it ? Normal phone reconnects without problem.

The BT Lan Access Service using Microsoft BT Stack has been removed in the registry. It's been like that since XDA2.
I do not know if there is a corresponding driver available in MDA Compact such that you can re-enable the service via updated registry entries.
Anyone?
i think it needs the ppp bluetooth profile
and ms bluetooth stack dont have that
vidcomm bluetooth stack does....
you can try using that

Found the reg entry with missing configuration:

and here are some more...

Anyone knows enough of these entries?
just add those to your device, apply the other things from msdn you've found and restart your device. then scan your ppc on the pc for open services...
I have found a workaround
I'm the happy owner of an MDA Compact and a Siemens blue2net access point. Indeed, the Microsoft Bluetooth stack refused to talk to the access point, which only offers the "Lan Access" profile.
I tried the suggested registry hack. Good idea, but sadly it does not work. It would appear that the "Lan Access" profile is simply not supported by the Bluetooth stack - it has not just been disabled by deleting a few registry entries
However, I found a workaround. After a few hours of fighting with the Microsoft stack, I downloaded a free Bluetooth stack from Toshiba (http://aps.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/) that supports the "Lan Access" profile. I did a full backup of my MDA Compact, adopted the "brace position", and prepared for a crash landing (aka hard reset).
After installing the Toshiba Bluetooth stack, I simply had to do a soft reset to activate it. Big surprise for me: my MDA still worked. Clicking the Microsoft Bluetooth icon in the status bar now told me that my toy had no Bluetooth support; however, clicking the new Toshiba Bluetooth icon brought up a different (and better, IMHO) Bluetooth interface. From here I could see the blue2net access point. Not only that - I could actually connect to it. The rest was piece of cake: add the Bluetooth device and configure a modem connection via it. I am now happily surfing the web via Bluetooth
The only caveats I have so far are these:
1) I now have a disfunctional Microsoft Bluetooth icon in the status line. I would like to get rid of that. Please drop me a note if someone knows how to do that.
2) When using the Toshiba Bluetooth stack, the diode above the screen does not blink blue when Bluetooth is active. A small price to pay for having internet access
i am about to do as lars_juhl has stated on my xda II knowning that he messed with mda compact and i have a xda II but still i am going to do as he has stated will let you guys know wat happens.
FINGERS CROSSED !!
ok ive downloaded bluetooth stack v3.10.00 from the link that you've given and after extracting the contents of the zipped file on my desktop i have.
1.QFE (FOLDER)
2.SD_HOST_driver (Folder)
3.us (Folder)
4.AutoAns (Exe)
5.AutoOn (Exe)
6.AutoSetup (Config File I Guess)
7.lmgLoad.dll
8.Setup (Exe)
9.TbpSetup (Exe)
10.TbpSetup (Config)
11.TosBtLoad.dll
12.Uninstall
care to tell me which is the file that you installed on your pda as a bluetooth profile and i shall follow you.

I think you're supposed to download the 'Pocket PC 2002 / Windows Mobile 2003' bluetooth stack. This shows version 5.01.
Goodluck.

Hi,
I've one question:
(a) Apart from Internet access, do you have other BT functions working?
e.g. Headset/Handsfree, BT ActiveSync??
The BT Tray Icon can be removed by deleting this registry key
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\BTIcon]
then reboot.
If you don't wish to remove the key, you can disable it by editing this parameter value under the registry key
change
"Dll"="BTIcon_Dll.dll" to
"Dll"="BTIcon_Dll.dll.disabled"
then reboot. When WM2003SE tries to load the Dll driver, it can't find it and therefore the MS BT system tray icon will not be activated.
The download is here:
http://aps.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/pages/download.php
Works great on my MDA Compact too (DLINK BT-900ap).
Many thanks for this idea.
Does anyone know if there is a way to turn on/off the bluetooth radio once this stack has been installed ? I have the feeling that it is always on, consuming precious energy...
BTW has anyone tried headsets with this stack. Do they work ?
Thanks agian,
Martin

Yeah, I have the same question.
And one more: After turning off/on toshiba bt icon disappers. How to fix it?
it works for me but how can i turn bluetooth off ?!! i think it goes ON all the time
Yeah, the BT icon is disappearing after turning the device off as well as sometimes ramdomly.
The set-up app (bt_setup) cannot be restarted without soft reset, I get following error "An error occured with th Buetooth Card Confirm that the card is working properly."
M.
I installed the Toshiba bluetooth stack on my I-Mate Jam and it ROCKS - it includes ALL the functionality missing in the MS stack!
...BUT...
It is unstable as hell (I have experience all the bugs listed in this thread) and I am fairly sure this is due to the fact that both MS and Toshiba stacks try to use the same bluetooth hardware SIMULTANEOUSLY.
...SO...
has anyone figured how deinstall/reinstall the microsoft bluetooth stack on a Magician (I-Mate Jam, Qtek S-100, MDA Compact, XDA Mini)?

Hands-Free fix!!!

Hi to everybody!
First of all...sorry for my bad english..!
I have discovery this tweak that has allowed me to use my jam (qtek rom 1.11 wwe) with the bluetooth hands-free on my machine WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS (before this tweak, i can't use it correctly)!!! (I'm sorry, but i don't know its brand and/or model..)!
p.s.
my bluetooth radio is always ON and DISCOVERABLE....
pair your hands-free and set it as "hands-free"....after
go to
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\HandsFree]
and change the value of "Index" to 0
P.s.2
with this other tweak, you can keep connect your jam beyond 8 minutes....
go to
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone]
and change the value of "Sleep" to 0
After modify the registry you must soft-reset your ppc....
What problems where you having before the tweek?
W/out the firs tweak, when i receive or make a call, the jam do not connect to the (before pair) hands-free....
and...
I have found the second tweaks on mypdacafe's forum, but i never test it!

Qtek S200 Bluetooth: can't pair

Hello everybody. I have a problem with bluetooth on my S200. I can not discover other devices nore can my device be discovered by others. It seems BT is switched off but in the settings I have everything switched on but it still doesn't work. Can somebody tell me how the registry should look like as a standard with bluetooth switched on and device set to discoverable? Perhaps something has been changed by installing some programs.

Bluetooth GPS Question

Hello everybody, Long time reader first time poster.
I've got a little question I'd like to have answered.
I've got a I-mate JasJam and I use it for a lot of things, one is for GPS. To understand my problem I'm going to quickly tell you what my situation was before.
I used to Own a Ipaq RW6828 (Atom) However, I managed to drop it in a mop bucket and it died. (still sold it on ebay and got 80 bucks for it =D ) So I decided to get a Hermes. Back when I used my Ipaq for GPS, All I had to do was turn on the GPS receiver and run TomTom and it would instantly connect the Receiver to the Ipaq and would proceed in using it.
HOWEVER, now with my JasJam, every time I wish to use the GPS, I have to set it up every time ( select incoming / outgoing ports, etc) Which is a little annoying as when I wish to use the GPS, I don't really wish to waste the time setting it up.
Now this leads to my question if you haven't already guessed, How do I get it to do what the ipaq did and instantly connect the receiver to the PDA? I do know one way in fixing it but it requires an upgrade to WM6, and apparently it voids the JasJam warranty if I do so.
One thing I have noticed is that my Ipaq used to have a GPS settings program in the settings menu under the System tap, and the JasJam doesn't. I'm running WM5, and the GPS receiver is a generic one I got off ebay..
So that's my problem, I'd be greatly in your debpt if you helped me figure this one out.
Thank you for reading all of this, I can be the type of person to ramble on
The way I got it to work
Hi There-
I had the same problem this week - and I found the following solution which now works as we all want it. i.e turn both devices on - start TT and voila.
The way I did this.
1. Go into Settings -> Bluetooth and pair your GPS device.
2. Set the outgoing port (i set up port COM port 9 - though you can do whatever is free).
3. In your TomTom folder on your Hermes - you will find a file called: navigator.cfg - firstly take a backup of this file.
4. Then open this file up (note: i transferred it to my PC for editing).
5. On the first line (or second) of this file - you will see a reference to a COM port.
6. Ensure it is the same COM port as per Step 2 above.
7. Copy the file back to your Hermes - overwriting the original one.
8. Then start up TT and give it about 10-15 seconds and you will see that it will automatically connect - each and every time.
9. MOST Importantly do not EVER go into the COM port settings within the TT app on the hermes - as this will overwrite the 'navigator.cfg' file and corrupt your settings. If you do - then just follow the steps again.
Let me know if it works ok for you.
Thanks
Hi there.
Thanks for the reply, however this didn't work.
TomTom is fine once I pair it. It's the fact that I have to pair the Receiver my hermes every time I turn the GPS on. And set it up under the blue tooth connection settings. That's whats annoying me, TomTom picks up the receiver fine when I set it up the first time, So yeah, it;s more of a Windows Mobile thing that I need to fix.
Suggestions?
Could this be because TomTom connects to the device over bluetooth and thus takes control of it?
I use Navigon Mobile Navigator and that "locks" onto the BT GPS, so when I exit that it shuts down the BT. However, if I've got a BT headset switched on it leaves BT switched on.
Have you paired the device already with your PPC device before you let the SatNav software have it's go?
If it is still not saving the settings then it could be a problem with you're bluetooth. I had this earlier in the week and unfortunately the only "fix" I found was to do a hard reset. Cue a couple hours reinstalling
Ahh well. Good luck and you'll let us know the outcome, won't you?!
Thats a shame it did not work for you.
I take it you have gone through the tomtom support notes like this one?:

JASJAM GPS Receiver Bluetooth connection problem!!
hi guys,
i have same problem when imaking a Bluetooth connection with a GPS Receiver i have jasjam W5 OS when i search my JASJAM finds my GPS Receiver its showing (?) question mark i think it is not recognizing well it pairing also but i don't no how to establish connection with GPS receiver there is no connect option my friend has PDA2K it has connect option he can connect all devices but mine not showing please help me
Thanks
destinator 6
Ok. Pairing.
Switch on your phone bluetooth. Switch on the GPS/BT device. Goto the BT menu on you're phone and tap 'add new device' and hold the gps near.
When it comes up with what you think is the closest match then select and press next. It'll ususally ask you to put a password in. This is either 1234 or 0000.
If this is ok then click next or finish.
You might need to setup a com port on your pda for this phone for some other devices to connect. To do this you'd clck on "Add com port" and then select the device and there will be a way of selecting a com port.
I know it's a bit fuzzy but ive not got the device ihere, and this is all in memory.
Cheers, Elwyn
hi Elwyn M3100 ,
thanks for your quick reply, i did everythg seems working fine but i don't know how to connect pairing no problem and port also but my only problem there is no connect option when i go in destinator it says no GPS found .....
i tried to update my ROM but no result .... im having bad luck
Right. Ok.
1. Do you have the BT GPS unit sucessfully paired to the PDA?
2. When you go into your satnav software, is Bluetooth on you're phone switched on?
THANKX BUDDY ! IT WORKED !!!!!!!!!! YUPEEEEEEEEE

Most SatNav software, once it discovers you have a Bluetooth GPS module take it upon themselves to switch BT on and off on your phone. In one way this can be helpful, but bloody annoying if you've got a BT headset in use too
However. Once you've got it mastered, things look up from there.
Occasionally as well I find that the BT isn't actually on when it says it is, and a soft reset usually cures that.... Anyway. Congrats

Prophet S200 + WM6.5 + bluetooth + gps = problem????

Hi!
I've installed a great ROM from babak00000, with Windows mobile 6.5, but i'm now having a bluetooth issue:
- i've got a GPS devide that i use. I've installed the device and user until yesterday without problems. But today I had a problem: my GPS software in Prophet did not recognize the gps device.
- i looked at bluetooth devices under WM, and saw that it was not connected. I used the option to connect, but it gives me an error: device could not bo connected because there was a problem in connection or PIN is incorrectlike that. Well, Pin is correct, so I think it is a problem with something else...
- I have a bluetooth headset that works without any problem. I do not use both bluettoth devices at same time
- I've tried to disconnect GPS device, and reconnect again from the beginning, but the problem keeps appearing.
-I've got configured GPS device with port COM6, and the GPS software as also COM6. Without issues till today.
- I've tried to disconnect and reconnect bluetooth in pda, but with no success...
Does anyone know something about this? Can somebody help me?
Recent edit: I've made a full backup and a hard reset, and the problem keeps annoying.....
Hi.
I was using this Rom but I had a lot of problems with my bt device and wifi and finally.... I have wm6.1 again.... Is the most stable and fast wm version... No problems with my bt GPS device and no problems with wifi at office and home...
