how can i turn off blinking green and blue leds during the normal operation?
I saw this reg hack on a xda post, but it looks like it also turns off vibrate:
"Figured it out! I changed a reg key to turn off the blinking LED indicator and apparently that key also controls the vibrate function."
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\AllLEDMgr
Key = Index - 0 or 1
There is also a CAB file available in this forum!
Look around for that post, this is probably the best solution........

Hi, i've had my XDAII from O2 for 3 weeks now and have a few questions.
This morning when I woke up the XDAII's power/charge light was 'red'. According to my O2 manual, it's 'amber' when charging, 'green' when fully charged, and 'green flashing' when phone is on.
I pressed the Power Button and the XDAII sprang to life as usual, no apparant problems (ie no error messages or anything).
Any clues what red signifies, have searched but not found any answers yet.
Many thanks in advance.
PS device has latest O2 UK ROM (v1.60.50).
it means you missed a call.
i found it to be an extremely good addition over the XDA, in that you don't have to turn your device on to see if anyone called you. You'll also see a phone+exclamation mark on your taskbar. The red light will disappear when that icon is clicked.
I'm not sure if this also happens when the caller does not transmit their number.
so:
Green non-blinking = on cradle, fully charged
Yellow non-blinking = on cradle, charging
Green flashing = device on
Red flashing = missed call
Adding to this, it is not set up by default to flash red when you have received an SMS or mms.
But you can change this behaviour from the Sounds and Notifications options on the device.
And this is much more handy, in that you can then send a text to a friend, switch your phone 'off' (i.e. power off the screen etc), and only a glance at it is necessary later, to know if you have had a reply or not.
Great in noisy environments, or in a car etc.
Red Light Stays on even after dismissing reminder
I have my XDAII set up to display the RED light for a reminder (An Alarm). However, if an alarm goes off while I am away from my XDAII then the red light remains on even after I dismiss the reminder. In other words it is not resettign to Green. The only way to reset it is to do a Soft reset. HAs anyone had the same problem or have a solution?
yah I've had the same problem that my red light stays on after an alarm goes off, really annoying that you have to soft reset or play around in the the notification settings and then it disappears
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\ALLLEDMgr
just change the index from 1 to 0, then softreset.
but it will turn off not only the gsm led, but also all flash of led(BT,Charge)
set the key back to 1 to get the led flash back.

Can i do something via registry?

Change the keyboard backlight duration
To change the duration of the keyboard backlight, you can set (example is 30 seconds):
Code:
HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\QKeyLedTimeout = 30 (DWORD decimal)
Please note that this may not work on some devices. One such notable exception is the HTC Wizard.

Best...thanks.
Now, the second question.....and most usefull for me.
Can we keep the keyboard light on all the time when the device is under charging?
This could be perfect for inCar use while charging.
Nothing ???.. :?
I'm looking for this answer since long time... and, even if I didn't find the answer, I'm glad I found somebody having my same question (even if some months ago)! ... better than nothing ...it's a start.
So anyone knows how to keep the keyboard light always on when device is on charge?
i wish you could change the color
for colorblind (red/green blind) people RED is useless.
PLEASE STOP USING RED FOR ANYTHING!
thanks!
Sky
 I don't know if you mean the red on the flag, the red of vodafone logo or the red of the keyboard... but I will change all of them if you find the answer!
I changed it to 65535 and the registry editor seemed to accept it, I make that about 18 hours before it times out, nice thing is it still goes out and stays out if you power down, but it goes out and comes back on if you close.
Regards
I've written an app to give independant control of the keyboard lights (and red/green keys), manual on, manual off.
However, gooroo's solution sounds like a better workaround.

Still looking for a solution for this one too.
I don't think I can use the change timeout to 65000, because my device doesn't autoswitchoff (disabled that) because the BT keeps f*cking up.
So after 30 sec my backlight just turns off, the device keeps on. Setting the keyboard timeout to 65000 would kill my battery cause it will always be on.
Viper, so what do you propose? You don't want to extend timeout?
V
I've always had set it to 30/60 seconds.
I think the problem is that wm5 doesn't support keyboard backlight like the normal backlight (which has settings for battery/AC)
just trying 65000sec and see if that works a bit. But I have to see if it doesn't drain the battery and all.
-update-
Ok this option works perfect for me.
And yes changing the value to 65000 will let your keyboard light be on permanently (practicaly then)
But your keyboard light auto-switches off when your Backlight does.
So in the car it's on power, so this will keep the backlight on full brightness + always keyboard lights
on battery the backlight goes out after 30 sec and so will the keyboard. But when i touch the screen both will jump on.
Is there a way to keep the light of the keyboard a bit longer in HTC Artemis/P3300?
Thanks
My O2 XDA Ecec only lights up the keyboard in very low lighting & then switches off after 10 seconds.
Are the ambient light levels & time adjustable?
Cannot even find reference to it in the manual - any help appreciated
Peter
start / settings / personal / buttons / backlight
uncheck the box marked "Enable keyboard backlight auto sensor"
The time remains the same but the backlight becomes active as soon as you push a button.
Thanks
The answer in ONLY 3 minutes!
Thanks
Peter
No problem the autosensor on the backlight is one of the first things I disable, the auto sensor seems to only light the keys in total darkness otherwise heh
Shame HTC didn't make it adjustable
hi
you can put your thumb over the sensor, press a key and it will turn on the glorious backlightyness
The time can be extended beyond 10 sec with a simple registry change - I found it in this forum, just do a search.
Is there an application which control the blinking lights in XDA IIs? I find it annoying to see blinking green, red and blue lights.
one way, which was working under wm5 is to change the registry entries...
To turn off the Blue LED from coming on with Bluetooth go to:
1. Hkey_Local_Machine/Drivers/Builtin/BWLEDMGR
1a. Change the Index value below it to "0" it is currently set to "1
Soft Reset and the Blue LED will not turn on.
Here is a revised procedure for turning the Green LED off. Cabrio came up with this.
2. To keep the Green LED from flashing or coming on at all go to
Hkey_Local_Machine/Drivers/Builtin/NLEDMGR leave the dll name as NLEDMgr.dll
2a. Change the Index value below it to "0" it is currently set to "1".
This seems to completely shut off the LED and keeps it from getting called up.
Make sure you soft reset after making the reg. change.
the other way is to use tweaks 2k2
http://www.tweaks2k2.com/portal/index.php
it was working under wm5 too...haven't tried it on wm6yet...cuz i simply like the leds and think it's useful...
Thanks nyuzsi. Will try that out.
you are welcome...
