So, I have the Wizard/Tmobile MDA. When I am writing an SMS/MMs, one of my input options if "Phone Pad" and I can type as if it were a regular phone pad, using the phone buttons. This convinced my friend to buy a TMobile Wing, but that is not an option on her Wing, and she is furious... anyone have any idea how to activate this?
search for phonepad international. use the searchfunction of forum.
lol
I searched phone pad (with a space) and did not find it. Thanks for the info...

I understand that the traditional Phone Pad input method found in earlier HTC devices is missing from the Hermes. Is there anyway to overcome this as I would really love to use the Phone Pad on the Hermes when I purchase one.
Any advice on this matter is highly appreciated.

If you mean the smartdialler, then its part of the extended rom cab files. The previous versions do not work on the Hermes.
You must allow the cab file to run that will enable the smartdialling.dll file.

"Phone Pad input method"....
i downloaded and install and can see the Phone Pad input option but when I select it, it does not appear. Did I do something wrong?
got it. i think i resetted the device too early the first time.
Sorry, but I don't understand?
Which extended rom file is the smartdialling.dll file in? It doesn't seem to be on my TyTN. Can you point me in the right direction please?
i installed the HTC Phone Pad on my Cingular 8525 for the T9 (it was sorely missed, by the way) but i can't get it to be the default. I tried using SK Tools to make it so but it wouldn't stick. any thoughts?
thanks,
mark

thanks for the response.
Hello All,
I recently upgraded to the Cingular 8525 from a broken T-Mobile Wing. First thing I did was upgrade to Windows mobile 6. One feature I did enjoy with the Wing is the text messaging. It would not only complete one word but would suggest multiple words and would seem to learn common phrases that you typed. I thought this was a Windows 6 thing as my 8125 did not do this but with my newly flashed 8525 does not have this or I can not figure out how to turn it on Is this an option in a settings or software I can install. Thank you.

I have it set to give suggestions on up to 4 words after input of 2 characters, but the Wing was different because it also gave multiple words suggestions. It would learn if you typed "How are you" a lot it would suggest the whole phrase.
Hi everyone,
Recently I am unable to activate my keypad during a call. this means I cannot check my voice mail, as I cannot enter the security code. Also, I have to use the physical key to end the call.
Can someone advice what is necessary to rectify this (hopefully I don't have to hard reset)?
Thanks,
Stan

Search for this and the T-Mobile HD2 forums for the BsB threads about turning off the screen-sensitivity hacks.

Hi,
I'm a newbie to all this, & was having the same problem as you with my Tmobile USA HD2. I searched thru the forums & found a solution that worked for me, & may work for you if you have BsB Tweaks installed. You need to disable the BsB Tweaks "Tap Time" option in the General section, then do a soft reset, & your keypad should work again. I'd post a link to the thread, but I have yet to figure out how to do that, sorry! It's in the T-Mobile USA HD2 General forum & titled "Phone screen locks up when on call" if you wanna take a look at it yourself. Hope this helps

that solved it for me too. nice to have my keypad back!
Excellent! My keyboard works again during calls.Making the change in the BSB Tweaks Utility Software was the answer.
Thanks to all for their input.
Many thanks,
Stan

Hi Guys,
I have a problem with my hd2. When I have a voicemail message or when I call a servicenumber I must choose an option like "press 1 or press 2" At that moment there is no keyboard available on my touchscreen. This is a real problem because I can't listen or delete voicemailmessages. I contacted HTC but there was no solution. I hope that someone can help me with this, I like my HD2 a lot.
Thank You!!

Can you not open the keyboard with the little pull down tab
when in a call ?
Thanks for your response. When I slide it down for options it doesnt contain 'show keyboard' or something similar.
It is a big problem for me and I think that I'm not only one with this problem.
Very strange....
Can you recall when this started happening, was it like this from
new or only when you installed a modification of some sort ?
All info will help those more knowledgeable than me to assist you.
I have my hd2 for a month now. I have the problem since the beginning with the original HTC-rom (NL). Later on I have installed cookie home tab but that is not the problem.

Yes,my keyboard and other options,Speaker phone etc are available to me via the pull down tab during calls.
Have you tried changing the keyboard in the advance settings? I have encountered this before, i'm using EnergyRom. Then i did go to the advance settings and search for the phone settings then dialpad then i just use the default dialpad. I can't remember exactly because I'm using a different ROM as of today. Just try to look in the advance settings for the dialpad. Sorry if i can't help you directly mate. I will try to research this to help you.
