Hi everyone,
Recently I am unable to activate my keypad during a call. this means I cannot check my voice mail, as I cannot enter the security code. Also, I have to use the physical key to end the call.
Can someone advice what is necessary to rectify this (hopefully I don't have to hard reset)?
Thanks,
Stan

Search for this and the T-Mobile HD2 forums for the BsB threads about turning off the screen-sensitivity hacks.

Hi,
I'm a newbie to all this, & was having the same problem as you with my Tmobile USA HD2. I searched thru the forums & found a solution that worked for me, & may work for you if you have BsB Tweaks installed. You need to disable the BsB Tweaks "Tap Time" option in the General section, then do a soft reset, & your keypad should work again. I'd post a link to the thread, but I have yet to figure out how to do that, sorry! It's in the T-Mobile USA HD2 General forum & titled "Phone screen locks up when on call" if you wanna take a look at it yourself. Hope this helps
Angelo
that solved it for me too. nice to have my keypad back!
Excellent! My keyboard works again during calls.Making the change in the BSB Tweaks Utility Software was the answer.
Thanks to all for their input.
Many thanks,
Stan
cool worked for me as well. i was going to wipe my phone, then throw it if it didnt work.
Thanks for this thread...Now I have several days worth of voice mail to delete!

This appears to be a problem for some people but not others. I cannot find a definite fix on the posts I have read, hoping someone has found a working solution, so started a thread for just this issue.
I have just installed Dutty's R10 WM6.5 ROM on my Touch HD, and only have that and S2U2 version 2.04 installed on top, and whenever I get an incoming call when the screen is locked, the call comes through fine, caller ID and all but I cannot answer it. WHen I go to slide to answer, the S2U2 app and the dialers own slide screen is fighting for priority. I seem to be able to answer on occasion if I repeatedly tap the answer hardware key, but this doesn't always work.
I have tried swapping the settings around, and disabling the S2A, but then the other green and red keys appear and still cannot answer. Also tried the suggestion of adding S2U2 to the boitouch exemptions list in the registry with no success.
Anyone had the same issues and fixed or knows of a patch or workaround?

Same here. I may have found a workaround.
Just disable Caller ID on S2U2 and let the 6.5 handle incoming calls with Caller ID.
I tested, seem to work fine for me. You should try it and feedback here.
Yes, disabling the Caller ID from within S2U" worked, fantastic!!!
Does anyone know why the Caller ID now doesn't work using Duttys R10 and S2U2? Previous ROMs (think they were all WM6.1 though) have worked..

Probably just the updated WM base used. These OEM's keep moving and it's prbably hard for AC to keep up with S2U2.
glad you found a fix....
I was in a similar boat... I have a T8285 for use of 3g in US, but I cant answer incoming calls when i leave the phone with 3g on and locked when the call is received. just passes the call to be missed, all the while i keep sliding the bar to answer. the hotfix from htc made it worse... just made the dialer screen all screwy.
I posted the problem in both miri and dutty threads that are of which i use, but neither are the actual culprit.
sooo I tried S2U2 and disabled caller id, as suggested in this thread, but this didnt fix it. after searching for weeks, i've been stuck leaving my phone on edge.
sorry for the sob story. i envy that you fixed something and i haven't lol.

A number of HTC hotfixes had similar affect with my phone, i.e. made dialer all screwed up. I generally don't use them as they get implemented into the latest roms anyhow.
Which rom are you using at present? Have you tried posting your query into the S2U2 thread. Your most likely going to get more accurate response from someone who uses that software

S2u2 is new to me, so I haven't had the chance; I'll check that dedicated thread shortly.
Currently I use miri WM 6.5 23009. I've posted in that rom development thread and read it almost thoroughly (1K+ pages!).
If you turn on "windows dialer" instead "slide to answer" everything works fine even with "caller ID-> ON".The only thing with windows dialer you can't see the call history in dialer but if you use call history button the history shows fine.
I'm using duttys6.5 r9 turbo
Solved.
Hello
With new S2U2 version 2.12 is solved. Even with htc dialer, even with Caller ID, etc.
I had the same problem with Rom 6.5. But now is ok.
Regards.
Cure.

Hi!
i just realized how frustrating this is! i've been pushing aside this problem for a couple days now but now i cant access the dialer, contacts, or speakerphone while in a call!
chodge0813, it would be useful if everyone knew which ROM and Radio versions you are using, or put it into your signature.
i'm using NRG's Energy ROM [Build 23565] dated: April 23
Radio: 2.08.50.05

hi all,
my HD2 has embarrassed me enough! it dials in my pocket and sometimes answers calls without me knowing. friends and family know too much about me already
I started to set the pin for phone use lock, but it asked my old password. what is that? well I googled for the default pwd, and found a number of threads saying dont use the pin feature, it can forget the correct pin requiring a soft and sometimes hard reset.
if I have anything wrong so far, correct me please.
ok so I want it to be hard to make the phone dial out. ever. in fact, i would like a pin to even answer a call. i dont ever ever wwant another unintended call outta this phone or it will get tossed.
otherwise its a GREAT phone and a great upgrade to my previous advantage 7500
looking for suggestions. i am a basic computer tech, but no expert and definately not a s/w developer, so please if anyone provides advise think you are speaking to a basic-skills user not a developer thank you!
So what is wrong with just using the slide lock. I have never had my phone dial out on me when it's in my pocket.
You may be right. I'm not sure how it happens. Could it be that a reminder popup, or missed call, unlocks the phone?
Also, what is the deal with the pin number feature? Is that really a flawed function to be avoided?
use S2U2...I use that one with the 'activate when phone turned on' part of it...hasn't dialed and got me in trouble since..
cool, what is S2U2, a rom? if so what are the steps to re-rom the HD2? (I did it a long time ago with the 7500 but Im sure that was way different process)

S2U2= Slide 2 lock Slide 2 Unlock.
Just google S2U2 you'll find it. I used to use it but found that it can have issues with other apps that might be loaded.
As for flashing new ROMs just start reading the stickies in the ROM development section.
hey thanks man, just loaded it. if it works i will donate a few bucks as well to the developer.
question: which apps did you find that it conflicted with?

non so far - have been using it on previous phones too and I love it!
OK I have S2U2 installed and have one question.
How can I disable the "emergency call" button? To me that feature somewhat defeats the purpose.
Hi Guys,
I have a problem with my hd2. When I have a voicemail message or when I call a servicenumber I must choose an option like "press 1 or press 2" At that moment there is no keyboard available on my touchscreen. This is a real problem because I can't listen or delete voicemailmessages. I contacted HTC but there was no solution. I hope that someone can help me with this, I like my HD2 a lot.
Thank You!!

Can you not open the keyboard with the little pull down tab
when in a call ?
Thanks for your response. When I slide it down for options it doesnt contain 'show keyboard' or something similar.
It is a big problem for me and I think that I'm not only one with this problem.
Very strange....
Can you recall when this started happening, was it like this from
new or only when you installed a modification of some sort ?
All info will help those more knowledgeable than me to assist you.
I have my hd2 for a month now. I have the problem since the beginning with the original HTC-rom (NL). Later on I have installed cookie home tab but that is not the problem.
You also own a HD2, can you get a keyboard during your calls?

Yes,my keyboard and other options,Speaker phone etc are available to me via the pull down tab during calls.
Have you tried changing the keyboard in the advance settings? I have encountered this before, i'm using EnergyRom. Then i did go to the advance settings and search for the phone settings then dialpad then i just use the default dialpad. I can't remember exactly because I'm using a different ROM as of today. Just try to look in the advance settings for the dialpad. Sorry if i can't help you directly mate. I will try to research this to help you.
Hi,
Does anyone know how to answer the HTC HD2 phone using the send key rather than just using the slider. since upgrading to the latest ROM on HTC site it does not answer the call anymore using the send key.
I have looked for an answer to no avail.
Anyone know how?
RM
i dont think this is an option that can be turned on and off !!!!
i`ve flashed my phone so many times with official, cooked winmo & couple of android builds
the send key always works, never had a problem with it

The only thing that could possibly have any control over the send button answering phone calls is a registry key. I am not sure if there is a registry key for this or not but it is the only thing that could control the send button being used to answer phone calls. With that said my advice to you is to try doing a hard reset of your HD2. I say this for two reasons, one this will revert any unwanted changes to your registry. Two you said this problem started after flashing the latest official ROM from HTC. Anytime you flash a ROM official or custom it is recomended to do a hard reset after flashing as this will fix any little issue that might arise from something not getting set properly.
Thanks for your replies, i have no idea why this still does not work after me applying hte suggestions. It must be software, the button phsically works with other apps but just not to answer the phone.
Might be something that is loaded on the phone....?
I will keep looking as this is not a nice thing to have to live with.
