Busted keys on phone?

Okay, since my first post was dissed and people told me to get out of here, I have adapted to situation where I don't have external keyboard (one that slides under screen) but now I have problem that almost all keys stopped working on front side.
Whenever I'm receiving call, my answer button does not work nor it opens Phone-application when I press it. Also those two keys at top of green answer button and red hangup button does not work. Can anyone help me?

Which ROM did u install on your devices ?
Did u install third party softs ? (I especially think about SPB softs)

Actually I've Faria's rom.
But i tried to reflash many others roms & different versions... (black, lvsw...)
Also reflashed the IPL...
Also refreshed to olipro...
Also, also, also...

Yeah I also use same rom .. oh btw while there is some nice people here, mind to tell me how to enable my special keyboard? It's scandinavic

I dont know how to set your scandinavic keyboard but if u search in the forum, i'm shure that u will find it!

I do not install any third part sw...
I'm shure that the problem is a SW problem and not HW!!!

Do you have SPB installed on the phone? I had that problem on two ROM's happened and even thou i love SPB Shell i had to uninstall it and i never had the phone freeze problem when ever i got a call.. You can try to deactivate SPB and see what happens as well..

Mind to tell me how to disable this software? Is it something called "softkeys" ?

Disabling SPB would be done through teh Remove Programs app under settings > system.
Or maybe through the Today Plugin screen - select it and see if there are options.

yea it does work pretty good but i think thats the one i had on the titan wasnt sure if it was gonna work on the touch thanks alot bro

hey i dont know if your having this problem but it doesnt notify me when i get a text like it tells me on the screen i got one but it doesnt make any sounds... is there a fix for this?

I use ringo, and it works fine for me, the volume is up i'm assuming?

if you didn't know this already, you have to specifically set a sound for the Palm Messaging App. try Start->Settings->Sounds & Notifications->Notifications Tab, scroll and select "Messaging: New Message (Palm)" and then select the sound you want to play when a text message received via the Palm app.

I used this same app on my Wizard way back and loved it. I couldn't live without it once I tried it. Last I heard it is supposed to be compatible with ALL WM6 devices so it should work fine with the Touch.

yea it works now i had to pick a sound for it lol i feel stupid now but now the other problem is that when i bring up the touch keyboard with the t9 it doesnt show me the words i could choose from... they stay at the bottom so i have to bring the keyboard up and down all the time... is there a way to fix that?

I don't think so, I wish there was.... I use the Full Screen Keyboard, once you start sending messages, you'll get used to not seeing the words....

i hope that we can custom the Keyboard to go up an 1 inch so we can see what we doing.

Thats what i asked in another thread...a automatic resize, like what it does in pocket ie, its not a big deal to me anymore, i'm used to it...

When getting rid of this app. It takes away the orginal Text Messages. Anyway to bring them back with out backing up phone?

Guys, you should do a search for pocketCM. Is is really good and do a lot more than what you are looking for.

Well I have tried that. But cant seem to get it to work corectly on my HTC VOUGE

Ny only complaint to the threaded sms is not seeing what im typing. Loved it on my mogul though

ive asked this in other threads but no reply. can someone tell me if this app allows you to use mms. according to the other threads, everybody is having problems sending and receiving mms. can we use this app solely for the threaded sms part and THEN USE ppcgeeks mms app. will that solve the trick??? plz let me know. i have a sprint touch. thanks alot guys!

Cannot switch off default Android Keyboard

Hi all,
I have noticed a strange issue with my UK Vodafone HTC Magic (default factory build). I downloaded the slightly better HTC keyboard Touch Input and installed it to my phone. If I go to "Settings" > "Locale & text" I can see the option to turn on the Touch Input, but have no option to turn off the Android Keyboard. Hence, as it stands I cannot use any alternative keyboard (e.g. the HTC one or even Better Keyboard), as I've no means to turn off the default keyboard.
Can any other UK owners confirm that this is the case? Only I have searched all over the place and cannot see any reference to this issue. I am assuming it is a restriction of build to ensure people don't switch off the keyboard in error, rendering the phone useless as it has no hardware one to fall back on. Nonetheless though, it does seem rather odd.
If I am correct and it simply isn't an option, is there anything I can do to enable it short of rooting the phone?

I had the compact keyboard working on the jf 1.51 build on my G1, but not on my Magic.

Yeah this is 100% factory spec - ie as its received out the box from Vodafone. Hence I'm guessing the option has been hidden,which seems pretty daft. I'm assuming I could still do a Force Close on the Android Keyboard to force the issue, but obviously that isn't a long-term fix.

Took me a little while to figure this one out but it doesn't set it as the active keyboard by just enabling it in 'settings'.
You have to go to an input box (eg. compose a text message) and select the text input box using the trackball (hold it down) after a few secs a menu appears allowing you to choose your keyboard.

Funny enough I was just coming in here to say that I'd found the solution, but you beat me to it! The one I found was pressing and holding the "123?" button, which then brought up the option to select the input method. Worked a treat.

Where we I find the HTC KB, i had a look on another post which suggested a file name .. HTC Chime i think - But googling that yielded nothing - Any clues anyone?

Found out one that works and installs w/o issue.
I downloaded the file called HTC_IME.apk, and this installed, without any issues. Works great, and has Full Size Qwerty, xT9, and Compact Qwerty(like Blackberry Pearl). Do a search on google for HTC IME.apk+android, and install it. Issue resolved!

Big big big thank you to swifty and trickshot!!! I had this working on my G1 and could not get it working on my magic, I was getting so frustrated. You ARE lifesavers!!

Touchpal:dropdown list doesnt appear when entering contact name

Hello guys.
thanks for your good support.
I wanted to know how can i fix this bug. i own a HTC TD2 and when using touchpal(i really like this program) for new sms, when i type a part of contact name in TO: field it doesnt show any list of contacts starting with characters that i had inputed.but HTC keyboard works well.i had the same issue in WM 6.1 as well as in WM6.5.
pleassseeee helpp me guys.any solutions?

I don't know of a fix but you can select "add recipient" from the menu.

mine doesn't have this issue. on sms to: field i just type the name and it shows those contacts contain this name for me to select. mine is td2 original 6.5 rom from htc, hong kong english version, touchpal 3.5

I used to see this in selecting weather cities but I figured out it was because it would put a space in after the word, therefore not finding the city that was proceeded by a comma.
Unfortunately not the case in SMS contacts.
I too am running 3.5

Hi, the issue still exists in version 4.0.

+1 for issue in v4.00.. interestingly it works fine in the contacts list - so if you select names that way it's ok

HD2 Keypad not working during call

Hi everyone,
Recently I am unable to activate my keypad during a call. this means I cannot check my voice mail, as I cannot enter the security code. Also, I have to use the physical key to end the call.
Can someone advice what is necessary to rectify this (hopefully I don't have to hard reset)?

Hi,
I'm a newbie to all this, & was having the same problem as you with my Tmobile USA HD2. I searched thru the forums & found a solution that worked for me, & may work for you if you have BsB Tweaks installed. You need to disable the BsB Tweaks "Tap Time" option in the General section, then do a soft reset, & your keypad should work again. I'd post a link to the thread, but I have yet to figure out how to do that, sorry! It's in the T-Mobile USA HD2 General forum & titled "Phone screen locks up when on call" if you wanna take a look at it yourself. Hope this helps

that solved it for me too. nice to have my keypad back!

Excellent! My keyboard works again during calls.Making the change in the BSB Tweaks Utility Software was the answer.
