Hi,
I have an original i-mate JAM and one of my frustrations is that it does not support making voice activated calls over bluetooth.
Is anyone able to confirm that this is possible with the JAMin?
TIA
G
Yes it is.
The Jamin (at least with official i-mate ROM) has built in "voice speed dial" (cut down version of Cyberon voice commander) and it works fine over BT.
Tried with Motorola H350 and Scala 500.
Thanks for the answer levenum.
Related question: has anybody been able to use a Jamin with Ford's in-car audio system? I can't get it to connect but, even more annoying, my daughters £50 phone connected first time!!!
Bumping this in the hope that someone out there uses a JAMin or similar with Ford Audio in-car bluetooth...

Hi all,
Few weeks ago I read in this forum, but I forgot whether is there any solution for above mention subject.
Is there any bluetooth that support Voice command? Or any bluetooth headset v1.2 is compatible with it?
Say that I like to have bluetooth headset that I need to press the button to call, to get appointment, etc just by say it to the headset.
This would be great as you have personal assistance

Hi,
I think it was me who posted the message but I still am looking for a peice of software for the MDA Compact that allows voice commands through my HBH600 - anyone?
Thanks
Msuk
As far as i know, this is not supported by the MS Stack used by the magician.
I don't get it. Everyone was saying that the Widcomm/Broadcom stack was no good for Voice Command, and now we've got Microsoft and their own stack is still no good.
So, who's manufacturing a stack that actually works?
I hear that the ETEN M-series (500, 600, perhaps earlier) works with Voice Command over the BT headset, so what stack are they using?
That the best thing I have ever heard, to be able to just push the button on the head set to give Voice command a request instead of pulling the phone out of your pocket all the time would be great.
Hi,
I used to be able to issue voice commands for my contacts when I had a SE P900. Also the callers name was announced in the BT and using my voice I could say 'Answer' or 'busy' why cant the MDA Compact be able to do this? MDA Compact get some many things right but gets a whole load of other functionality totally wrong :-(
Thanks
Msuk
Check this out...
Someone over at HowardForums.com's Pocket PC forum was able to tell me that the Eten M500 Pocket PC Phone Edition uses the Microsoft Bluetooth stack (although "enriched" or modified) and they apparently can use Voice Command over the Bluetooth headset, and even activate it by pushing the action button on the headset!
http://www.howardforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=181 ... See "My new Eten M500" thread.
So, I'm asking anyone who's got the Extended ROM to upload it or post it somewhere so we can take a closer look!
Thanks people.
Anyone have o2 mini and Motorolla HS-850 bluetooth handsfree?
This handsfree is bluetooth v1.2. I am wondering if I can use this bluetooth for above purpose. Not perfect maybe, but at least I can get caller id readed by voice command better than sony HBH-660 caller id display.
Anyone with HS-850 please comment.
Thank you in advance.

I've got a Cardo Scala BT headset (thanks Expansys) which works perfectly with Wizard (and MS Voice Commander). Occasionally I'd like to use it with my work Nokia 6310i. Trouble is, I can't figure out how to manually disconnect the 9100 from the h/set. Can anyone help?
I'd like to fit a BT carkit, but expect the same issue switching phones there too...
Any 'stupid, it's easy, you just do...' gratefully received

I've got a problem with Dopod 818 Pro's voice command software.
The software that is use is Cyberon VC 1.6, which is different from Jamin's Voice Speed Dial 1.1
Using Jamin's Voice Speed Dial 1.1 (I've flashed Jamin's rom), I can use bluetooth headset button to activate and dial very successfully every time.
However, when using Dopod's software (Cyberon VC 1.6), I can only activate the voice command once using my bluetooth headset's button. After that I cannot use it anymore and have to reboot the Dopod in order to make it work again. I noticed that after the headset is turned on, it never turns off again using this software.
I'm using a SC HBH-662, 818 Pro AKU2 WWE.
Do anyone experiences this problem? Is it a problem with my Headset instead of a software problem. (I'd need to consider replacing my bluetooth headset). If everyone is experiencing this problem with Dopod, then I think it is probably a software problem, or there are any registry setting that I can use to fix it?
I have noticed the same problem, though not everytime. It seems that if you use the software to dial a phone number, and then end the call, the headset shuts off and may or may not work again with voicecommand.
Anyway, yes, it's weird. I'm using a SE bluetooth headset as well, but I think it's software related.
Anyone not using Sony Ericsson bluetooth headset having the same problem? If yes, I think I'll just downgrade it back to imate rom.
Same Here!! I just loaded the new Dopod ROM and selected the few files from Ext ROM that I wanted and noticed that Cyberon Voice Commander worked once with the bluetooth headset (nxZen) then refused to work after that. Hopefully some genius here can help figure this out. Cyberon's VC seems really good, just need it to work over bluetooth.
voyager
Jabra headset same problem here.
AX2 and Plantronics Voyager same issue. I think it is similiar to the issue people are having with MS Voice Command on the Wizard using the Reg hack to redirect the BT Headset button to activate VC
I'm having the EXACT same problem, with the same headset (hbh662). Interestingly enough, I installed MS Voice Command side-by-side with Voice Commander. Once you activate Voice Commander the first time (and it makes the audio gateway connection to the BT headset), you can use MS Voice Command to issue commands through the headset. The problem is that it seems to only be able to do this once, and then you have to reset. The other thing I've noticed is that all audio is rerouted through the headset; if your phone rings while the BT gateway is active, you will only hear it in the headset (but you get to hear Voice Command anounce the caller). Ah well, at least it works for about 10 minutes per reset. :?
I have exactly the same problem with you guys with my SE HBH-610a and i.Tech Clip R35, and some other SE and i.Tech models which I have also tried. Can only activate once, and will not work again until a soft-reset. This has been like that since the shipped ROM, and the new ROM didn't fix this problem.
Voice command over BT on the i-Mate AKU2 rom works great though, and works 100% of the time!! Though both from same company Cyberon, the one on Dopod is VOICE COMMANDER, and the one on Imate is VOICE SPEED DIAL.
I have tried un-installing Voice Commander from my Dopod and installing Voice Speed Dial (from hack in this forum), but didn't get voicedialling over BT to work this way on the Dopod. Sigh!!
Has anyone contacted Dopod on this matter? If I-mate can implement Voicedialling over BT correctly, I don't see why Dopod can't!! I will write to Dopod. Can't imagine calling their hotline again...the last time I called, I had to wait at least 50mins before my call was answered.

Still no solution for this?
Still no solution for this issue? Isnt there a way to port/convert Project VCABT to the Prophet?
That would be more than great"!
I have the same problem plus it does not recognize my voice command. Alway dials a wrong person.
Any progress?
Dear Friends,
Has anyone had any progress with this issue? 3-rd party software? Maybe some bluetooth stack patches.
Please, if anyone has any valuable information to share, please do.
With warmest regards...
there is a major problem with the ROM
Until a new one is produced the BT will be stuffed
My bluetooth turns itself off after a few min connected to my parrot car kit? any Clues?
ROM 1.35.255.2
Radio 1.18
which parrot model? I am looking for a bt install kit to go with my vario 2. Tried a motorola HT850, worked ok for about a 1hr test except the voice dial button did not activate the voice recognition on the vario 2. This works ok with my Jabra BT200 earpiece, when its not flat !! Hence why I want an installed unit!

I recently purchased the Parrot CK3200 from Amazon to go with my Vario II. It took about 10 minutes to install but that would depend upon the connections on the back of your car stereo. It mutes the stereo and uses the car speakers. It seems to work very well but I don't use the voice dialling so can't comment on that bit.
The only issue I occasionally have is if I leave the Vario BT on when I shut it down, it doesn't always pair when I turn it back on. It then needs me to turn BT off and on again in the comms manager in order to work. Its easy enough to tell when this has happened as I don't get the blue flashing light on the Vario.
any chance of you testing the voice dial (and voice control of opening applications etc if you knew you could do that!) through the parrot system?
Is the ck3200 the "advanced" one with the lcd display? What's your rom version etc....
Cheers in advance.
It is the one with the colour LCD display, I'll test the voice dial later on my drive home. I had no idea you could open application with voice commands, I guess perhaps I should read the instructions (only do this when all else fails).
My Vario II is running
ROM vs 1.21.110.3
Radio vs 1.05.05.00
The parrot is using version 2.03d
Update:- I tried the voice dialling earlier and can report the following.
Pressing the voice dial button on the Parrot triggered the Hermes to wait for a voice tag but using the Hermes microphone. As I drive quite a noisy van this was not successful. After setting up voice recognition on the Parrot and recording new voice tags the Parrot worked reliably but only using the voice tags saved on it not the Hermes.
To use the voice tags saved on the Hermes I now have to press the voice dial button on it rather than the Parrot. Not ideal as this does not automatically mute the stereo.
To conclude, the two pair reliably and if you don't mind recording new voice tags for the Parrot then voice dialling works very well. I also really like the way I can beam photos to the Parrot so that when friends call I get their picture on the screen.
same problem

I have exactly the same problem and I haven´t found solutiont yet. :-(
Bluetooth cutting out on me too
Never had a problem running my Nuvi 660 and Tytn with original ROM. Low and behold, I upgraded to 1.35 with 1.18 radio, and it started cutting out on me. It is driving me up a wall. I am now sorry I upgraded the ROM. I was debating reinstalling 1.04 bootloader and installing 1.21 radio (which I had installed with original Tytn Rom and no bluetooth problem) with 1.35 ROM. Any thoughts here would be appreciated.
I solved the BT problem with my Orange SPV M3100 by setting it to never switch off the display automatically (only switching off the backlight after 20 seconds or so). I also use an in-car charger to power the TyTN. The car is an A6 with RNS-E (BT enabled) and TyTN works fine and never loses the BT connection as long as the display is active.
This is a mid-term solution though and I'm still eagerly waiting for a ROM update that will solve the problem for good.
Funky
Here's a fix I used on my old wizard http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=273990 This will keep bluetooth active when in standby,
Props to Funky B for the fix
Hi guys! This is my first post here, so please help me!
I wish to know if it's possible to connect my HTC TyTn to the Parrot CK3100 and to listen TomTom's indications through the car stereo instead through the TyTn itself. Is there a way to do that?
Thanks a lot!

Don't have Parrot....
What I use is JetWare Mobile bluetooth extension on my WM6 and it allows me to make and receive calls through my car stereo as well as use voice commander through my car stereo or use my Motorola headset to switch from listening to music on my PC and answering / making calls from my PDA (all automatically)... They have a beta on there site that will allow you to do this. From what I read of your message your only looking for TomTom and Phone so you may only need to use the standard version. The other thing that may be a problem is your car stereo not sure of its capabilities. My stereo has 2 bluetooth connections one for the phone and the other is for the stereo input. I paired the phone to the phone and the stereo to Voice Command (you could use TomTom instead) Sadly don't know much about GPS/TomTom and don't know if it needs voice commands, but do know you need to hear it. BTW its not free, but they have a trial period so you can see if it works for you.
Best of Luck!
I have an answer and a question...
If this was your first post I assume that you have the original rom on your tytn (wm5)
I could listen tomtom and mp3 files by Parrot's bluetooth (ck3100) when I had the original rom using this little app and modifying something in the registry (because the modifications of the registry that made by default this app does'nt works fine for me, read the threath for more info and or if you have issues)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=278778
Now have the back majik rom and works fine with parrot, it shows more info than before, but I've tried withouth success using the same method and tomtom doesn't speaks me by the car's sound system yet...
Someone can help me please?
thanks in advance
