I have M$ vista ultimate.When i try to flash my trinity but i have problem with usb driver under vista.SSPL bootloader cannot make a conexion with my mobile phone?When i use activesync it's OK but when i run sspl i have this message :error conexion.
I think that the problem is beacose i use vista.Eny ideas?

i have flashed twice under vista, use these drivers for your trinity & disable usb connections in mobile device center

Now i start boot loader but evry time i have this message : your image file is corrupt.
I know that the files isn't corrupt, and i think that the problems is still in the driver!
Can you help me?

Maybe you should try flashing with the SD Card method! It's always safer and easier!

hi to everyone,
about a year ago, i patched thr spl...now is 2.13.0000. Yesterday i tried to install to my imate jamin (s200) the new qtek s200 italian rom. The process start successfully and cheked the version. When the phone reboot itself and shows the bootscreen, he program said that there was error 260 and cannot continue; on the phone screen reamin the boot section. When i try to rebbot, it works, but in this way i cannot update my phone. How i can solve this??
i use windows vista and windows mobile device center 1.0 version; also, i used on innotek virtual machine, windows xp with activesync 4.5I would like to inform you, if you can help, theat about a month ago i sent my phone to the assistence because the audio didn't work (is it possible that the assistence did something that block the update??

on the bootscreen, compares RUU on the right-up side,ipl 2.13,spl 2.13 and (all writes are in the red section) and usb on the left-bottom side (on white background)! that's all, i think i've said everything...please HELP!!!

i've tried, also, to use camera + softreset and when reboot the writes RUU disappear, but still not recognize on usb when in bootloader.

use native windows xp and not VMWare or some Virtual Computer!

how you have flash your ipl to 2.13??
i used the pdamobiz...i think my ipl was 2.15.0000, and after downgrade, it becomes 2.13.0000. Sound strange? So, do you think the problem is vista and the VM? but i read in this forum that lots of people flash hos phone using xp on virtual machine....but you mean that in vista if you plug the phone (botloader) in to computer, windows doesn't recognize it?
i havent test "win xp vm" on a "vista host". my work laptop has vista and i cant update any rom/firmware. vmware use the host system and his driver to route the usb device. possible the usb-subsystem in vista is changed to much ;-)
test it ... if work ... ok ... we can debug it!

SOLVED! I flashed the prophet on "real" xp. Now my spl changed to 2.20.000 and ipl remain at 2.13.0000. I have another question: if i flashthe phone with one rom of wm6 (which is better?or which is the rom with less bugs?), can i reflash with a wm5 rom without problem?

I am using iPAQ612 with somehow I can connect iPAQ612 with any computer with the ActiveSync. It was working smoothly and I haven't connect with ActiveSync for longtime. Couple days ago I was trying to upgrade new ROM and connect with the ActiveSync I found this problem.
I have tried many ways of solving this issue but still not make it solved.
These are what I have tried.
1. I have tried to reinstall ActiveSync and install New ActiveSync4.5
2. I have tried to install new windowsxp on new harddisk and install activeSync4.5
3. I have checked on Setting System "USB to PC" both checked and unchecked
4 I have tried to connect with VISTA and install Windows Mobile Device Center
5. I have tried to unchecked Power / USB Charging
All above I tried T_T still unsolved my problem
Any suggestion can help I'm very welcome.... and thanks in advance.
PS. Can anyone Dump original ROM WM6.0 for me I'm thinking to take iPAQ612 to HP Center but I have to change my rom to original version
otherwise the warranty will cancel.

Hi,
What ROM are you using now ? Normally, if you install AS 4.5, it will wait for a PPC to connect and then make a new profile etc. Unless something went wrong with your ROM-update.

my hermes turns on, gets to the boot screen, and doesnt do anything.
I've hard reset it and it still wont work.

it started messing up when i opened a rar with a rar tool.
so how will i fix it if i cant get it recognized on windows mobile device center for activesync?
Have you tried flashing a new ROM using the SD card method?

If you have Hard SPL V7 installed I suspect it would be very similar to using XP with activesync... Open up windows mobile device center and go to connection settings... Untick "Allow USB Connections". Put Hermes into bootloader and run the RUU_Wrapper.exe file. Should work...

I've got a problem. I want to flash my ROM to WM6.5.
I connectet my Phone with Vista over USB-Port.
The ROMUpdateUtility.exe start the GUI.The phone disconnect from Vista and the Install GUI shows me after few seconds the ERROR 260, that my Phone ist not connectet.
On my Phone I see the three coulored Monitor. On the left lower site is written "USB".
I tried to hold the connection with Vista ( i startet the Camera or other Applikation ) but the same problem.
Whenever i start the ROMUpdateUtility.exe the same. Disconnect and never connect again.
What can i do, that my phone stay connectet with Vista, so the Install GUI can make his work?

we tried with and without microSD card and or sim card.
The real problem is the connection which is interrupted and doesn't rebuild.
Independent of trying to flash the WM6.5 or USPL.
Silly question, but you never know..Do you have Windows Mobile Device Center installed in your PC and is your device connected to it? It is the "Activesync for Vista". The three coloured screen is normal, it is called Boatloader. After that you should have a progress bar of what you are updating (rom,radio..uspl..etc) on both PC and Artemis. In my case, when i got error [260] it's always because I forget to remove the SD card. I know you already tried this but keep it away from device when you flash.Your problem is maybe about Vista Drivers for Artemis, there are threads concerning it. Before you investigate further,try to install/reinstall Windows Mobile Device Center, change USB port and flash with a freshly booted PC. Hope you'll get the magic.
P.S. USPL flash is ABSOLUTELY THE FIRST THING TO DO!

Yes,you need activesync if you use Windows XP or Windows Mobile if you use Vista/7
when the status says connected then you can start flashing your new ROM

1.connect phone through ActiveSync
2.run DFT_SSPL_MINI
3.click next...next...next

p.s. if computer sees the phone as disk drive then you didn't connect the phone through activesync!

but when i try to open dft_sspl_mini through activesync it just open the properties of the file instead of the file itself

are you trying to open sspl on phone??
