I'm having problems in installing more keyboards to my X01HT (like Resco Keyboard Pro). Although the keyboards can be installed successfully, it is impossible to switch to that keyboard. Please show me how to make the new keyboards work!
I'm sorry for the stupid question, but please help
Not a stupid question at all. But I am afraid that I can only confirm that this appears to be a wider problem.
And I wish i had a solution for you but there appears to be a problem with additional keyboards not working. I am unable to install the T9 HTC keyboard because it works sporadically for a few minutes and then gives up completely.
Selecting the keyboards just caused the default keyboard to appear again.
Sorry I couldn't help.

Strange problem: I've search google and here at xda, but find nothing even close.
Discovered the answer in the event others experience this strange situation: Download "sipchange" (google). It nailed this perfectly.
The keyboard defaulted to compact mode about a week after I received the phone. I hard reset (ROM version 1.14.405.3) and did not install any applications, anticipating perhaps a program conflict was my problem. After two days is did the same thing.
The only thing I've tried is changing input methos in the settings node. After I choose full QWERTY (or any other keyboard selection) and select OK, the settings default on compact.
Anyone know the registry setting to force the keyboard to full QWERTY? Maybe this is a known issue....
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: Still no joy - I installed Touchpal 3.5, however the in input selection for Touchpal 3.5 will not take either.
Edit: Cleared ROM - flashed firmware. This defaults to full QWERTY. I then installed Touchpal 3.5, but my HD would not change to the touchpal keyboard after selecting options and rebooting.
Might this may be a hardware/keyboard mapping problem?
Yes, I have issues with this too.
I use two particular input methods: Block recognizer (I'm an ex-Palm user) and SBP Keyboard. I have to select which to use, using the input selection pop-up menu, which appears next to the keyboard icon under the keyboard.
Problem is I want to customise that menu as the default options (Touch input settings, Phone Keypad, Compact QWERTY, full QWERTY and other input methods>) only leave room for one other option.
Any ideas ?
Many thanks.
Hi!
I received a Touch HD few days ago and from the first time I noticed that something doesn’t works properly.
Initially the keyboard by default was the QWERTY one. I changed it to probe the compact one. I did the change with no problems (obviously was not a difficult issue). Well not so obviously because the problem was when I tried to return to full QWERTY keyboard.
I selected the fullQWERTY in the configuration menu, I pushed the OK button but when I tried to write a new message the compact keyboard was still there. I tried to change to any other keyboard but the result was the same. I haven’t installed any keyboard so is not a software incompatibility issue.
I reset the phone, check for rom updates, etc but I cannot select QWERTY keyboard. I have search about this but the only information I found is a post in this forum with no answer.
Please, any information about a possible solution will be greatly appreciated. Just imagine a wonderful HD without its QWERTY keyboard…
Thank you very much.
I have the same issue. A full reset did fix it but then it randomly happened again. Obviously that's not ideal!
Any ideas anyone?
Might it be worth an email to htc?
You checked for ROM updates using? I'm sure there is some registry key but not really certain.
Regards,
Carty..
I have encounter the same issue. I have found out that if you go through setting and select keyboard to change..it will not work...
It seems that touchflo took over the registry.....
Now the correct way to change your keyboard is to
1. press your keypad up.
2. you should see this little arrow beside the your keypad icon
3. when you tap the arrow you will see this menu pop up to pick the keyboard layout.
This is the ONLY WAY to change the keypad
Hope this helps

Hi everyone...
I need advice on how to resolve this problem. When i select full qwerty keyboard option, the keyboard with ABC missing, only the numbers keyboard appears.
I read somewhere that people mentioned to deactivate T9 and problem will solved. I tried but nothing happen, problem still exits. I also tried soft reset a few times, problem is still there.
My HD is running on WM 6.5, is there a bug that causes this? I tried to select other keyboard, such as phone keypad and compact qwerty, nothing happen, still the same numbers keyboard appears.
Anyone please help...desperate here...
Thanks so much
did you install HD tweak and enable T9? if yes, then disable, soft-reset and that should correct the problem.

Hi brother cortez, thanks for your reply. I have not install tweak. I did try to disable T9 and soft reset, but it couldn't help.
I did a hard reset at last. But it happens again. I just found out that it is the problem with a program called ZTA4 which is a IME i installed for chinese input. I uninstall this software and the issue to missing keyboard will be solved. I then re-install the program again. Not sure if this is the right way to do it, but it solves the missing keyboard issue.
I have used the process here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054027
to root my Nook colour
I used the process here
http://nookdevs.com/NookColor_Replace_the_Default_Keyboard
to install Scandinavian Keyboard
I am able to use NC tools to chose the keyboard. It also turns up as my standard keyboard. The problem is that every time I touch one of the keys it disappears again and nothing is written. The keyboard comes back up again when I touch the writing area but disappears again as soon as I touch it.
Has anyone had similar experiences with alternative keyboards and found a solution?
Did you ever find a solution to this problem?
I am having the same problem with SK on my Nook.
I have the same exact problem when trying to install japanese ime keyboards. The second I try and click on them they disappear. I created a video showing the issue:

Hi!
My TF101 did its firmware update recently, and I noticed this afternoon that I can't use the QWERTZ layout for my keyboard (QWERTZ keyboard, BTW). I didn't have the problem before.
Everywhere in the settings, all keyboards (asus keyboard, dock keyboard) are set to French-swiss (that's the QWERTZ layout), and the dock is acting like a QWERTY. I rebooted, and search the forum, I discovered some had this problem in may 2011, but I haven't been able to find the thread answering the problem.
I don't know what to do, it's a real problem. I don't mind using any keyboard, even one with completely blank keys, as long as it acts like a QWERTZ. But a QWERTY is a real problem, I don't have the accentuated letters and the ç. (ç is ok, I don't really care, it's not that used, but the é,à,è, ^, etc. are used all the time).
What should I do ? Before the update, there wasn't any problem.
Thanks for your suggestions !
Edit : actually, I got my keyboard back by selecting as default input mode the asus keyboard. Normally, it switched automatically when the dock is connected, but apparently the update changed that. Anyway, I'm still interested in why such a hassle is necessary to remap dock keyboard when it should be doable in the parameters. Or there is something I haven't really understood ? I'd really like to know, I'm interested in these kinds of stuff. Moreover, I need to remap my Vaio P keyboard for the instant mode as no qwertz keyboard exists, but it's a proprietary system, so I guess I'll probably never be able to remap it...
