[Q] Strange keyboard behavior after firmware update - Eee Pad Transformer General

Hi!
My TF101 did its firmware update recently, and I noticed this afternoon that I can't use the QWERTZ layout for my keyboard (QWERTZ keyboard, BTW). I didn't have the problem before.
Everywhere in the settings, all keyboards (asus keyboard, dock keyboard) are set to French-swiss (that's the QWERTZ layout), and the dock is acting like a QWERTY. I rebooted, and search the forum, I discovered some had this problem in may 2011, but I haven't been able to find the thread answering the problem.
I don't know what to do, it's a real problem. I don't mind using any keyboard, even one with completely blank keys, as long as it acts like a QWERTZ. But a QWERTY is a real problem, I don't have the accentuated letters and the ç. (ç is ok, I don't really care, it's not that used, but the é,à,è, ^, etc. are used all the time).
What should I do ? Before the update, there wasn't any problem.
Thanks for your suggestions !
Edit : actually, I got my keyboard back by selecting as default input mode the asus keyboard. Normally, it switched automatically when the dock is connected, but apparently the update changed that. Anyway, I'm still interested in why such a hassle is necessary to remap dock keyboard when it should be doable in the parameters. Or there is something I haven't really understood ? I'd really like to know, I'm interested in these kinds of stuff. Moreover, I need to remap my Vaio P keyboard for the instant mode as no qwertz keyboard exists, but it's a proprietary system, so I guess I'll probably never be able to remap it...

Set default kbd

hi,
i assume that your reponse is: NON, but...
when i push the hardware heyboard on the athena, the display is turned to on.
is possible to make (eassy) a program that fix the default sip to any of these:
a) NullKBD if the hard keyboard is pushed
b) other soft keyboard (i decide in config time) if the hard keyboard is not present
thank's
Strange, mine is already behaving that way. When I have the hardware keyboard attached, none of my softwar keyboard ever get activated, unless I manually trigger it. Even when I position my cursor inside a text entry field, by software keyboard does not pop up when hardware keyboard is attached.
I read that this is not the case with many of you, and I'mcompletely puzzled by the difference.
hi
what os version have you installed ?
I'musing the DopodU1000 English stock ROM released on July 27.

WATCH: Big Full/Semi Qwerty installation HAZARD

The semi-qwerty keyboard cab file is available if you google it. However after installing it, I realize the accent key on my physical keyboard does not work anymore.
This is the answer I got on the other forum:
can't be help, because the key actions are defined according to the keyboard layout, and the default layout which includes the accent key is being overwritten by the cab file. You probably can revert back to stock keyboard layout and the semi-qwerty/full-qwerty/phonepad SIP, but you probably will lose the T9 function.
alternatively, use the symbol key to type the accent characters.
Does someone knows how to solve this problem so both Full/Semi Qwerty and physical keyboard work together.. especially cause i'm using Croatian letters čćšđž
THX
I just realized I have the same problem. Maybe someone can help us have both accent letters and Touch HD virtual keyboard...
Is this only registry problem or maybe have to change some dll? anybody?
Up! Maybe someone has an idea.
nothing to do?
blackstone keyboard is the best but we wan't to resolve the accent issue...please help!!
nothing?
You could try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=479464
Doesn't mess with the àü key.
Ok, I tried that keyboard, but it doesn't restore the accent key functionality. Maybe after a hard reset, but I wanted to avoid it.
Same problem here. Blackstone keyboard does my "au" hardware key unuseful - it dos not work.
Also T9 does not work with hardware keyboard.
I think HR is the only way for me - and you at this moment
Would SPB Keyboard 4.1 work without messing up the accent button? Is it any good?
I have the same problem, but with the Touch Diamond 2 keybord. It's really annoying
I had to lose all my data to update the firmware. After that I tried the SPB Keyboard and it's really good. It has layouts for a lot of languages and the accent key works.
ive used version 1 of this and it did not mess with my keyboard. this is the new version that just came out. i havent tried it because version 1 is working good enough for me.

news.....?
Finger Keybord 2 ??

unique keyboard?

my hd2 sees to have reinvented the qwerty keyboard - I now have what can simply be described as a qwertz keyboard. Basically the z and y keys have been transposed. I have not downloaded anything or touched the registry or rom and I am sure I would have noticed this before now if it had happened sooner than today!
Anyone else have any experience of this mapping and if so how can it be fixed?
sorted it now - I had somehow managed to change the keyboard setting to German!

Second layout for physical keyboard

Hi all,
I've been playing around with my wife's MS2, running Tezet's CM10. I've been trying to get her phone to be able to have two seperate keyboard layouts for the physical keyboard, namely English (QWERTY) and Hebrew.
So far the only solution I've found is to use AnySoftKeyboard with the Hebrew plugin from the market which allows me to change the layout on the soft keyboard and then when I pull out the physical keyboard the layout remains as selected. Any other keyboard (stock or otherwise) that I've tried reverts back to QWERTY when using the physical keyboard, although once I shut it the soft keyboard remains as selected.
Isn't there any way to have the same behaviour as AnySoftKeyboard on the stock keyboard or even better, on Swiftkey? Or some other way of doing it?
Thanks for any help!
Edit: Posted here and not on the CM10 thread because this has been the case on every ROM I have tried...

How to change QWERTZ keyboard layout to act like QWERTY?

I just activated a Blackberry Priv. However, i now notice that the lovely hardware keyboard is QWERTZ layout instead of QWERTY.
How do you switch the language/layout of the hardware keyboard? I cant find any information on this with google - only information on other blackberry devices. I don't get it, since I have the keyboard set to US English in the settings panel. There doesn't seem to be any other option regarding the layout?

My keyboard is QWERTY as it should be.
1) Did you update Blackberry apps from the Play store? If blackberry apps don't show in play store, then just search for "blackberry" in the play store and all needed apps will appear and update button will show.
If you have already done the first step, then go to settings>language & input>blackberry keyboard settings>input languages and here might be an update to the specific language.
I've updated the blackberry software, but still no options seem to effect the hardware keyboard. I can change the layout of the software keyboard, but it only seems to apply to the software keyboard.

By the way, do you see the on-screen keyboard when physical one is open?
No, I don't see software keyboard on screen when the hardware keyboard is out. Am I supposed to? That seems like it would be undesirable. I see just three suggested words along the bottom of the screen.
any luck with this? i would love to change freom qwerty to qwertz and have actuallz physically changed the keyboard already... but the setting to change it is missing
Same here. Just bought BlackBerry Priv with psysical qwertz and found that there is no tweak keys for that. I would like to change these letters virtualy, to press z and get y and opposite. How to do this. Help!
This will help solving it, install and swap y and z https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=innerlife.keyboard.multilanguagekeymapredefiner

Thanks, this worked! But now the number 7 is mapped to the Z key (alt + z), and alt + y brings out parenthesis. It's not a huge issue, but it seems there is not way remap alt + y so it will output 7 as it is in the original layout.
Also it seems there is no autocorrect available at all when using this keyboard? I was relying on autocorrect to put the right accents in Spanish, I can't seem to be able to enable this again even if I switch the language to Spanish.
In the end I created a custom QWERTZ to QWERTY keyboard for AnySoftKeyboard. It solves the issue of having Y mapped to parenthesis and Z to number 7 I mentioned above.
I made them for both English and Spanish (the Spanish one lets you write "ñ" by pressing "n" three times).
I also made a custom build of AnySoftKeyboard that make predictions work with the Key2 hardware keyboard. But if you just want the remapping, it works the fine with the official AnySoftKeyboard, just predictions don't work unless you use the on-screen keyboard.
Only tested with the BB Key2.

Hello raymccoy,
i tryed your workaround, but its not working on my Key2. I installt the Anysoftkeyboad from Your attachments and your languages apks. But my physical Keyboard does not change the layout. Can you tell me the steps to install?
Thanks
Marc
it does not work for me either. it does not remap anything, furthermore it crashes
I have to correct myself! it works, but it's necessary to install the last version of the app (from Playstore) to prevent it from crashing... AND it's necessary to show the virtual keyboard, otherwise physical keyboard remapping will not take place. Thankfully, the virtual keyboard can be made really tinyn so it will not be too invasive on the screen (see screenshot). Tested on BB Key2.
