I have this problem. In my telephone there is the file services_log that he becomes more and more large. In the file I find a lot of this lines:
15:30:28(8884483) thr 0xE2CE82AE : CVoiceMailClient::NotifyCallbackFunc (VoiceMailClient.cpp,202)
15:30:28(8917329) thr 0x82CF2F9A : CVoiceMailClient::RilCallbackNotify (VoiceMailClient.cpp,228)
15:30:29(9012277) thr 0x82CF2F9A : CVoiceMailClient::RilCallbackNotify (VoiceMailClient.cpp,228)
15:30:31(9232775) thr 0x82CF2F9A : CVoiceMailClient::RilCallbackNotify (VoiceMailClient.cpp,228)
Rom version 2.07.165.1
radio 1.32.00.00
ThanKs
I too am getting this message filling up my services_log.txt file... I can delete the file no problem but should I be worried about the messages starting to appear in the first place?
The only way I could stop the file growing was to delete it (it only appears to be a log file and will be created again shortly afterwards) when it is recreated set it to be read only using Resco Explorer (Or similar). this will stop the system from adding anything to the log.
If anyone can locate the cause for the log entries that would be a better solution.
Hope this helps...

Hi there to all i have by mistake deleted the file association for tsk file in total commander and now whenever i try to open any tsk file it says there is no associated application with this and i have checked in total commander options for setting it back is asking for four things namely icon file index number parameter and command .
Can anybody help me by providing these settings from their I -Mate Jasjar
anykind of help will be appreciated Thanx .
Code:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\tskfile\
(Default) = tsk
EditFlags = 0x10000
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\tskfile\DefaultIcon
(Default) = shellresapps.dll,-15618
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\tskfile\Shell\Open\Command
(Default) = ctlpnl.exe cplmain,13
HTH
thanks for such a fast reply but i m already having all these settings in my regstry but what i want is the setting for tsk association files in total commander software which are in the properties of the file
hi there to all comeon its nearly 2 days and 39 views but no one with the settings comeon man here we all are to help each other
please help .............
You could try some software which will allow you to change file associations such as http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=2430
I havent tried it, so Im not sure if it will work.
Hi there i dont want any software i just want the default settings for .tsk and dat file associations thats it
hence they can be found with the total commander software in the properties tab of these kind of files and hence i m sure that many of us would be using that software but still it has been two days and nobody is there to help me with this simple problems .
Perhaps you could tell me how to get the information and I'll see if I can pull it off my XDA-Executive for you.
G
niketkumar: I've checked my file associations in GSFinder, and they're exactly as PReDiToR has posted above.
Now you suggest that you already have those settings, so it appears that the problem may be located elsewhere. If you've definitely got exactly the settings indicated, then you may have deleted something else related.
I suggest that you investigate the problem more carefully and come back to us with more detail. The registry settings are what causes the file to be launched with the associated control panel page, ctlpnl.exe cplmain,13
Perhaps you've deleted other settings that you've not told us about?
If those settings already exist in your registry, how can we help you further? Perhaps you should try dumping your registry, backup, hardreset, dump registry, use SSnap to compare the registry dumps, and then teach us what you know. http://s-k-tools.com/ You can then revert to your backup and fix the problem yourself. However, if you want a virgin registry dump, I'm happy to send you one.
You seem to be fairly confident that we are all incompetent, unable or unwilling to help you. I would contend that that's very much untrue. However, to quote PReDiToR's sig,
Do not meddle in the affairs of geeks for they are subtle and quick to anger

V
vijay 555 u surely misunderstood me i never meant the way what you thought of it is for sure that we all are here to help each other so i m very greatful to everybody who did replied to my post and let me be frank what actually i did was that in my application total commander i selected the tsk file then properties then association option there it showed an icon with x when i clicked it , it deleted its association
Hence i checked these settings in my registry they all are there but when i m trying to open that application it says " there is no application associated with it Run the app first and then open it within the application "
and if now if you dont trust me that still i m hiding something from you then you urself can download that ghisler's total commander and try it yourself to believe me .
The other setting that is needed to make a file open is the .tsk association that points it to the settings that I gave you.
Code:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.tsk
(Default) = tskfile
Code:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\tskfile\
(Default) = tsk
EditFlags = 0x10000
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\tskfile\DefaultIcon
(Default) = shellresapps.dll,-15618
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\tskfile\Shell\Open\Command
(Default) = ctlpnl.exe cplmain,13
With these two pieces of code you should be able to use the ordinary Windows File Explorer to launch a .TSK file.
If that works then your problem is mostly solved. I don't suppose the file working in TC is important if you can use WinFE to install a theme?
Thanx PReditor that settings worked .
can you do me another favour , can you also tell me both the settings for .dat file extension in your registery coz i have deleted that also .
Well i've been trying to modify the weather cities file so the list will be a lot shorter and only contain the cities that are important to me. but when I try to remove the read-only property with total commander, nothing happens. because of this property, I can't change anything about this file, can't move it, delete it of replace it with a modified version I have on my desktop. Has anyone got an idea? It should work this way on a normal HTC touch, but my Dual won't cooperate
and in addition: How can I modify the register with Total commander? I read here or on another forum it should be possible, but I can't find that option. or are there better programs to do that?
Not sure about #1 but for the registry you can use Resco Explorer
About the weather, is there a way to update the data without using the HTC Home plugin ? I use SPB v4 and S2U2 that can display the weather on its screen saver.
The registry problem has been fixed. I now know how to enter the register with total commander. (use the \ button then go to the folder \\ and there you will find the folder register)
but I still can't edit the HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml file. is there maybe another way to remove the read only property of this file?
can you change attributes with total commander?
That's what I'm trying to do. When I look into the properties of the file, the attribute for Read only, system and in rom are checked. According to a howto I read somewhere, I have to remove the read only attribute. When I do that, and press te OK button in the screen (not the one in the upper right corner) and then open the properties of the file again, the read only attribute is checked again.
edit:
I gave it a try from my pc with altap Salamander 2.5 to change the attribute -> it gives me an access denied error. somehow I'm not allowed to change anything in the windows folder?
edit 2:
Installed SPB pocked plus 4 and tried to change the attributes of t he file with the enhanched file explorer: Same problem, nothing is changed when I re-open the properties of the file. when I try to rename it, it tells me the file might be in use or the memory is full or write protected. I've closed the HTC today plugin and there's enough free space. the only thing is, the file is read-only
No one has tried this on his touch dual? hmm... and no one has any idea to remove the read only attribute of the file?
I have the same problem. Can't remove the read-only status of the WeatherCities files using TotalCommander or Resco FE.
Anyone?
Possible sollution
There is a HTC Home Plugin Customizer. With this piece of software you can modify the look and feel of the HTC Home plugin and also edit in the weather file and insert your own city instead of the preselected cities by HTC.
Here's a link to the download.
http://www.pocketemu.com/download4.html
Hope that this solves your problem.
I have resolved the problem
Copy HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml on your pc do the modification and rename it on HH_0409_WeatherCities2.xml .
copy HH_0409_WeatherCities2.xml on your ppc in the same folder and rename it with resco .
Hello!
Now I found a way to Edit DLL, EXE, MUI and all other files for WM5 and WM6!
I ever had problems with the Signature in the Files bur now i have the Solution!
In This package i attached, there is a UnSigner, Signer, Editor and the Certificate for the Phone!
Step1:
First you must Unsign the file you want to edit!
Just go into the Unsign dir and drop the file over UnSigner.exe.
A DOS-Window will popup for a short time, the file is now unsigned!Step2:
Now you can edit the file! I placed the reshacker into the package...
Step3:
If you edited the file successfully, you must sign it again!
Go into the Sign dir and open siggner.exe. Then choose the file you edited and take the "SDKSamplePrivDeveloper" Certificate.
Press "Start sign process" and close it
Viola, now your file is Modified and signed!!!

I was able to unsign, modify and then sign a DLL file. But when I opened it in PE Explorer to check it, it gives me errors that the file is now too long. Take it you can't make additions, only changes?
EDIT: Here's the exact error I'm receiving, not sure if it's fixable or not;

MEditor: Simplicity
Hi guys,
I've decided to make it quite a bit easier. Just open up the attached .zip
file, extract the MEditor to Program Files, and double-click Install Context
Menus.reg (confirm if a warning pops up).
Now, to edit a dll, mui, or exe file, just right-click on it and press Edit with
ResHacker. Once you're done editing, just save the file, close ResHacker,
and it'll take care of re-signing the file for you
How it works
I didn't mean to make this post a big deal, but I'd just like to explain how this
thing works. I've added the necessary registry files for adding or removing
(if you choose) the Context Menus for "Edit with ResHacker". It calls
C:\Program Files\MEditor\open.bat, which opens a batch window (do not
close it until you're done editing, it will close itself) that removes the
readonly, archive, system, and hidden attributes off the file, then unsigns it,
then opens ResHacker.exe to edit it. When you close ResHacker.exe, it
automatically signs the file and adds the readonly and system attributes
(hidden and archive aren't necessary). Not very complicated if you think
about it, but it's what I use

Same problem. Internal adresses are being messed up. Tried expanding array in IDA and adding complimentary bits in HEX Editor. No luck. This has to be possible right? Shifting the entire code a few bits as to add a few characters here and there? Please someone, this is driving me nuts.
Help On exrtacting the *.dll file from windows folder
Hello has any one been able to remove the file from the windows folder tried resco and total commander but in vain ..
Awaitin help...
I have had this problem, and gone mad for two days: poutlook suddenly couldn't anymore open the atachments, while i was able to save them and open. So it was not a corrupted database... Also searching on the board, i have found only a bunch of maydays, but no solutions.
Finally, i found the trick, so i share it if someone else will unfortunately have the same problem. Simply, was deleted the temporary folder where attachments are stored to be displayed.
Well, here is what to do if you'll have the problem.
1. Check HKLM\System\Inbox\Attachments
You''l have 5 subkeys:
AttDir = Inbox.mstxxxxxxxx.xxxxxxxx (same name of the folder where attachments are stored either in sd card or device)
BottomDir = Attachments (or whatever is in your language)
Middledir = Connections (or whatever is in your language)
Moving = DWORD 0
TopDir = Program Files (or whatever is in your language)
If you have not these entries, create them.
2. Open File Explorer or Resco or what you use
3.Make sure you have ON DEVICE the folders \Program Files\Connections\Mail Attachments\ (same names as above in the registry: of course they will change accordingly to your language)
4. If you haven't those folders, create them
5. Enjoy your working again attachments
Hi,
I have this very annoying problem, that whenever I enter a text message I see the bottom of the message, so I have to scroll to the top of the message in order to read it.
I have found a tweak to change it (editing some template or something like that), but unfortunately I can't find it anymore. I guess it was lost, or something like that.
Has anybody a link, or a description, what file needs to be edited?
Best regards
johnpatcher
Ok, I've just found it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=318932
I've edited these files, and attached an archive here, you are invited to use it . Just replace these files within your \Windows directory using a proper file explorer, something like Resco File Explorer .
