If your device after reflashing of official version of ROM isn't starting up - something wrong with RAM or ROM(hardware) IMHO. Visit the Service Centre.
I had similar problems with my Atom. IT seems that there are some hardware issues that prevent Atom from starting in certain conditions. In my case, Atom freezes when I soft-reset using stylus and SR button. It defreezes if I take out battery and put it back, but in this case Atom looses time settings. In case I do softreset with program (like O2 plus) Atom restarts Ok and no problems at all.

Choose the nearest one, contact with it and send.
If the warranty isn't over, you'll pay for the logistic(transporting) only.
I ' ve got dopod 838 pro.i've with screen.screen don't respond on stilus from time to time.who can help me?

Take a look HERE. My guess is you have the screen alignment problem which has occurred on many devices.
Check your serial number against the table.

Well not much to add really. If you have a warranty do not delay, demand a new one - not a repair job.
If you have no warranty you can only try the standard screen allignment suggestions. See the Wiki and my post here:

So how do you want to flash it . I guess you have to return it, without the proper equipment you can't do anything about it .
Just return this dead hd, you mention is brand new, so return it back to the seller

Did you receive the phone this way? Did it ever work? Did you change anything or do anything to it to cause this?
Two weeks after i received a new HD device i had the same problem. No charge, so didn´t start up. I´ve returned it to my dealer to change for another new one. Problem was in internal charge circuit (hardware). I tried in first moment to change the battery that dealer sended me to try. If device don´t charge the battery you have a perfect brick..

I had the same thing with a brand new unit, send it to HTC repair (they picked the unit up at my home and returnd it, free of charge) they removed the mainboard and replaced it giving me the same phone just with a new imei code.
@mainsail, don't try to flash the unit I did all of that: new radio, new fw. No improvement. Had to use a friends Touch HD battery to do this. then I had to place the original rom, or my warrenty would be lost. So Just send it back.
Also did some research (and left a message on xda) but the problem is with the mainboard where the power unit is at, not something I/you can fix.
my touch refuses to charge off the power plug that came or the one i got with my kaiser but it will charge from usb even from the usb lead for the power plug that came with it, any ideas?
Hello My touch Screen dosent respons when i press on it. It just happend when i had it in my pocket ?? some ideas? But if i hafe to change the touch screen do you know about some links how to do it. How to opnen the phone
My HD has the same problem. You can try and call HTC in your country. I've been told that HD has 27 months of warranty from manufacture date. You may still be under warranty
Assume that you have already tried doing soft and hard reset, haven't you?

The problem with hard reset is that after reset you get into "phone setup" mode where you set up time, operator, align screen and so on. But 1st thing your phone asks you after hard reset is "Touch the screen to continue" Since it does not respond to taps, you get stuck

If you have tried a hard reset and the screen doesn't respond during initial setup (where it says: tap the screen to continue setting up your device) it very likely is the hardware! I would have no other explanation!
Just to be sure, you could try flashing a different ROM - but I'm very sceptical, that this would make any difference...
Also, don't you still have warrenty on the device?

Hmmm... good question... Maybe the serial could be enough - but I'm not too sure HTC will admit that! By the way: HTC shouldn't need any proof at all since the phone was released last year - so noone can have a Blackstone older than 12 months, right? But again: I don't think HTC will take care of it that easily...
This is a good place to start for finding out your warranty status.
Go through the process - your digitizer is very likely to be the fault, which is hardware and is replaceable. But why would you want to do this at your own expense if your device is still in warranty?
If you have HardSPL installed, you'll need to revert back to stock SPL and ROM, otherwise HTC will reject your device as these pieces of software voild your warranty.
Good luck.
Good Day,
Thought I would add my thoughts to this as currently going through same thing. I managed to get the ROMs and SPL back to Stock, even downloaded latest ROM from HTC.com to see if this would make a difference but screen still not completely not working but very intermittent.
Phoned HTC Support 1200 Monday, UPS were scanning and picking up package 1500 Tuesday, phoned today 1100 Thursday and they have received it but there were no updates on the repair status

Hi Folks,
My Mighty Legendary HD2 has effectively died!!!
The keypad buttons have stopped working and I don't know it it's a problem on the main board or with the keypad flexiboard.
Anyone any thoughts ideas?
Eriu
With battery out connect it to charger, insert battery(check pins to be OK) and it should start even without buttons...
If possible check battery to not be dead!

Hey thanks, I tried that and it does boot when power connected the problem is turning it on without charger and then in OS controlling UI. Thankfully two buttons still work (win & green keys) so in wp I remapped them to 'back' and 'power'. I tried a different screen assembly (different keypad and screen) and still had the same problems, so the fault must be in the main board?
Any ideas anyone would be greatly appreciated??

It seems like that, but it's quite odd: you should try, if possible, with another mainboard and see what happens...
It could be a ROM related issue, maybe?

You're saying what?
I dont think its a ROM issue because its the same in both WP and Android - was thinking maybe it was an SPL related issue but flashed the 2.08 spl and had same problem so reflashed 2.08 hspl. Anyway I think there must be some damage I can't see done to the main board (since I examined it with magnifying glass etc...)
Sorry to hear...
Nothing last forever dude..sorry fr your lost =(
Sorry i felt it as big fan of hd2 using it for 3yrs it serve me well best things ever
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
Cheers for kind words all as it happens my HD2 still lives as I still have 2 working keys so can be remaped in both wp & Android so all not lost
