connection via IrDA to GPRS/UMTS - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Hi, I wanted to usa my HTC Uni as a modem to get another machina I have to the internet via IrDA.... I used to do that with a Sony Ericsson V800 by making a dialup connection to *99***1# number.
Do any of you guys know if the same can be done with a HTC Uni? I have the APN.

Generic IrDA Modem

Hi folks, sorry if this has been asked before. I did a search before posting. Currently running Ipaq 3660 and Ericsson P800. With Orange (UK) with 30mg GPRS connection for eMails, Internet etc. Pretty usless eMail client on P800 so I have set up Ericsson as a Generic IrDA modem on Ipaq (pocketPC 2002). Everything works great, connection wise.
Thinking of purchasing 02 Xda II but O2 signal is weak near home base. Would only be able to use GPRS through Orange most of the time. Would I still be able to connect with the P800 through Xda II, as above or simliar i.e. Bluetooth connection with dialing into ISP.
In summary: Use the Xda as an eMail client and P800 as the modem?
Many thanks in advance.

WiFi/Bluetooth - GPRS connection sharing

Question:
It is possible to share gprs inet connection thu WiFi? I've got 2PDA (Artemis-orbit and Universal). I want to connect orbit to internet thru universal (reason: tmoUK web'n'walk instead of O2 gprs). How to configure both devices?
Is it possible the same thru btooth? I tryed to connect from orbit to uni like bt modem (dial *99.., *99***1#) with APN, pwd, username..... Without any succes.
please hlp,
i guess next post will be from Menneyss
no one will help?
I'm not sure. You try ad-hoc mode yet? Set Primary pda to ad-hoc and set name of ad-hoc. Secondary pda try to connect that name.

Use my HTC TyTN as a 3G USB-modem instead of Huawei E220

My provider is trying to sell a Huawei E220 to me so that I could be able to use the 3G network to surf on the internet with my laptop but a friend told me that my TyTN should be able to be used as a usb modem that would work with the 3G network instead of buying an extra device.
I will just have to pay the service charge of using the 3G network to get data.
Can someone here give me guidelines on how to make this work if possible?
I have HTC TyTN, a laptop, subscribed to 3G.
information on connection via bluetooth or USB is appreciated
you can do it with bluetooth
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...highlight=TyTN+(v1605)+as+bluetooth+modem...?
not sure if it works with usb
I have WM6 on my TyTN but I am having a tough time installing the USB modem driver on my PC
From my control panel, all I could see is the Motorola Fax modem and I have tried several times to install the HTC USB modem from this site to no success
I am using Vista and I have internet sharing on my TyTN

bluetooth PAN for using internet connection from my 3G phone

hello im using WM 6.1 [3.03 WWE]HTCMAG_ROM_WWE_O3 by Cotulla
how can i connect bluetooth PAN and using internet connection from my sony ericsson 3G phone? in wm2003se there's a modified bluetooth driver for enabling PAN service (not for sharing the internet from my magician to PC, but for using my sony ericsson 3G phone as a modem via bluetooth PAN) i've tried using bluetooth dial up but it keeps faliling..
I would like to know if PAN works, too.
