Hi.
I have tried tcpmp/corelayer and it doesn't quite work, i can live with the directdraw/raw framebuffer, but i can not live withy video not being able to pause. My conclusion is that it has something to do with the Audio, if I set audio to null/disabled the video plays perfect! (pause and so on works!)
But who can watch a movie without the sound?!?!
So my question is, does it exist any other player that can atleast handle vmw and mp4 (ipod format)??
I am trying POcket Player 3.1 right now, but it is nearly the same player as Windows Mobile Player. It experiences the same problems that the builtin windows player does. so i want something else.,..
any ideas?
EDIT: The problem with Coreplayer/TCPMP seems to have vanished with the new update to AKU3.3 that was released some hours ago. So now i can see my movies!
i have now tried tcpmp with ATI Image and IT SEEMS TO WORK!
there are some distortion in fullscreen mode (with ATI Imageon Decoder), but look at the benchmark!, nothing! just plain and simple RAW POWER!!
Benchmark with ATI Imageon Decoder:!!!!! (little blocks apears)
Average speed: 296,42%
Datarate: 1,3 MBIT/s
Benchmark With ATI Imageon: (all fine)
Average speed: 172,32%
Datarate: 740kbit/s
Benschmark with Direct Draw: (all fine)
Average speed: 117,76%
Datarate: 627kbit/s

anyone can post out the media software to watch x1?? i want it performance smooth n doesnt hv delay..thx
Million plus first reply for this topic:
Built-in media player is the best, since it is the only one (well, together with WM player) with full HW support.
Next best would be core player, with partial HW support. But generally you can't play any one CD AVI fluently.
Yes, you must recode the movie into mp4. Simple tool for that is described in this sticky thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=467590
Just use coreplayer and you dont have to convert
what abt flv movies? i cant seem to get tcpmp nor core player to play flv movies.. anything else is fine..
core player plays some flv movies
which version? i got the 1.30 version and it kept giving me errors..
depends on FLV codec version
hai- i have installed the coreplayer 1.32. everything is fine ^^
everthing? not even everything.- I tried to play WMV9 and there is no sound and blank screen. movie is playing... ???
whats wrong?
wmp is laggy ****. coreplayer dont lag but no WMV9?
Try this here (esp. posts #2 & 3): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=290176
Helped me with TCPMP, runs also with Core Player

Same lag and stutters overhere. Any solutions out there allready?
Default mediaplayer suddenly stopped working on my TP2, though the quality was way better then the core player's. Too bad it doesn't work no more.
can anyone help with this after paying for core player it wont play anything with out stuttering along
everything used to lag for me in coreplayer, including videos but if i switch the audio settings to higher priority for mp3 files they play without a hitch. now if only i can find out how to do the same for videos
Add me to the list of VERY unsatisfied results with Coreplayer on the TP2... it absolutely SUCKS. BIG TIME. Laggy and crappy... how is a man suppose to watch all those great videos stuttering!
I had the same issue (laggy, ...) a couple of months ago. I sent an email to CorePlayer support and got this answer back :
"Hello,
This is a known issue and we are working with several people on trying to track it down and are hopeful to have it included with the next release. I can offer you a full refund if you would like.
Regards,
CoreCodec Support Group"
They expect to release the new version by the end of this month.
Just have to wait...
Hope it helps.
Are you using DirectShow? If not, try it.
Great on TP2
Coreplayer is running great on my TP2. Watched 2 movies today and the video looked great and frames were solid. Honestly its the best thing i did for my TP2 yet. I dont believe it will handle 800x480 but a little bit lower resolution should still be fine and the video scales very well. Check this review on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uONMuEeTo7A&feature=related
Watch near the end when he shows how Coreplayer runs.
REFUND!!!
So I just sent my refund request for Coreplayer. It has a bug with Tv-Out causing it to show a blue flicker. Also it has no real hardware support yet. The best thing I found was the Touch HD gui encoder program. It puts your videos into formats the built in players can use and those do have hardware support. So while coreplayer is a great app its not for the TP2.
Disable DirectDraw in TCPMP. Use GDI mode.
I am not sure if the following has any effect when DirectDraw is disabled, but this is the way I have it:
Select Options\Settings, then click on "Select page" and select DirectDraw.
You will see three options. Only select the one that says "use blitting instead of overlay"
This worked for me...
Hi there running vegacomb 3.2 just wondering how to enable hw video playback, can't play 720p videos at all without it being choppy as hell.
I did search first but it was mostly old info and didn't work heh.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
Also if anyone knows how to get setcpu working on this build that be great.
Tried using custom text file which it can read but it does not actually apply any settings.
I use dice player to play videos. Give that a try, there's a free trial available on the market

Brilliant thanks for that everything is super smooth now.
Shame none of the free ones had compatible hw playback.
Worth the pennies though got portable HD playback now
Did you try MoboPlayer or MX Video Player, those are free and should also support Tegra 2 HW thru their respective plugins?
Plugins for your specific device should auto download thru the market when you first start the player.
Give those two a try and report back.
Of course if you already paid for the full version of DicePlayer then there is no point to test any other player because this should be the best there is (if it's working for you).
I tested the trial on a 720p MOV file and there was no video, only audio.

I tried those before coming here.
No joy : [
Any other suggestions? Got a few days til trial of dice player is up anyways.
Have you tried BSPlayer lite with BSPlayer ARMv7 VFP CPU support?
Look up in the market.
I've been using it and it looks ok.

Thanks will need to get some hd files to test though.
Unfortunately doesn;t read .mov files : [
All of free media player on market
use Tegra2 optimized SW video decoder.
(except HW mode that use stock player)
but diceplayer use hw video decoder ( not VFP otimized sw decoder ) in Tegra2
at all combinations of containers(avi,mkv,mov...) and audio codecs(aac,ac3,dts,flac,mp3....)

So at the moment dice player is my only option?
Just making sure as I don't want to buy something if don't need to
Downloaded an MX video player better which improved SW decoding performance ( things play at 15-20 fps) HW still doesn't work though : [
But the dev is looking into how dice player done it so with luck MX player will have HW acceleration with the vega soon.
Hi I wan to know that nexus 7 can play Hi10p file or not ?
cause I have a problem with tegra 2 that can`t play Hi10p.
thx
I have a BSPlayer paid version on my N7, I see there is an option for Hi10p file in setting. So I am not sure it can play or not, cause I don't have that kind of file to test. But for x264 [email protected] video, my N7 can play fine using BSPlayer.
I can test it for you if you provide a short clip for me to download.
Please go to 4shared and search hi10p
http://search.4shared.com/q/CCAD/1/hi10p
and try to download some file
thx
Um, I said short clip... but anyways, I did some googling and found this post, which says that the Tegra 3 doesn't support hardware acceleration for Hi10p, which isn't surprising since I don't think that any mobile chipsets support Hi10p yet. I did download one of the videos and I tried using both Dice Player and Mobo Player. Dice Player's video lagged behind the audio, and Mobo Player did a good job of keeping audio and video in sync but the video had artifacting and dropped lots of frames.
