My problem: No phone service on P3600 - P3600 General

Hi people,
My first post and unfortunately for a big problem...
I entered into a subway this morning and lost the sign (normal, of course) but now more than 10 hours later I still have no service, it shows the antenna and a ! next to it only.
I have tried the following:
- On commanager, The flight mode is NOT ON and the phone mode IS ON.
- Soft reset
- Hard Reset
- Tested the SIM card in a different cellphone, works OK.
- Tested a different SIM card into my P3600, no service.
It can't even find the a network when I set it to manual.
Please, any help can be useful...

try coming out of the subway
but seriously it sounds like it's knackered. Could try re-flashing the firmware.
another thought. Have you tried a sim card of a different mobile operator in the 3600 ?

Yes yes, lol, I forgot to tell that I came out of the subway...
Anyway, I think all I can do now is try reflashing. I have the original ROM 1.15.405.5...

I have just finished the reflashing and after all I still having the same problem... no phone service... My SIM card is working fine when I test it in my old motorola phone...
Anyone else have an idea??

It really sounds like you've been methodical and covered all the possibilities. I hate to say it, but it may be time for the service center or retailer if they would take it back. The good thing is that you got your original ROM back on the thing so they can't complain about that. Good luck.

have you tried a different network operators sim card in the phone?
the phone's imei could have been barred from your current operator.

Yes, I have tried a SIM card from a different carrier, didn't work.
I'm sending it tomorrow to Teleservice in Germany (is it a good repair company?) to fix it up, let's see what happens.

Hi guys, I'm back. I sent my P3600 for fixing and they replaced the mainboard and works fine.
But, when I lose the sign the phone just take forever to restablish it. Today I came out of the subway again and the phone din't get service and I had to soft reset it...
And thats what happened the day before I sent it to repair... I fell like it's going to happen again!

If i were you i'd start taking the bus!!!

Yes yes, your suggestion is valid... lol, but I'm serious, I don't know why I need to soft reset the device every time I lose service... that is annoying!

How many second a HTCP3600 need to find service when you turn it on or do a soft reset? I mean, what can be considered a normal behavior?
When I turn it on, it stays with the "!" for about 5 minutes and only after that time I get service... but sometimes I get no service at all....
I got in touch with Teleservice in germany, which replaced my mainboard, to see if they can give me some advice before I need to send it overseas, again, for repair... or replacement if possible!
If someone have an advice I would apreciate...

I always get a service within 5 seconds or something.. So there is definately something wrong with your device/simcard/provider.

Well you know what they say ,he laughs best who laughs last,anyway ,what you described happened to me as well ,yesterday i too was using the subway here in Athens and when i got home about five hours later i noticed that i had no phone service just an exclamation mark,i siftreset the device and the signal came back.

Touch 3G does not power on !!

Hi Guys,
I had my HTC Touch 3G for a week now and was working fine.
Today, I tried to restart it but it powered off and never powered on since !!!!
I tried removing the battery, sim, mem card ...everything !! No luck.
Any ideas ?

Nope.... nothing.
Try Hard reset (full reset), see if it works. Otherwise you may have to return to the supplier. if it's still under warranty, ask for replacement. so sorry to hear that.

I tried that too... it wouldn't respond to anything.
I'll take it back to the supplier this afternoon, and ask for a replacement.
Counting down the minutes
Same happened to me.
Took it back, checked it and found that the motherboard was faulty so they changed it.
Maybe HTC does not apply the best quality controls in manufacturing, but the phone is great

Yeah, I have to admit, it's a great phone. loved it from the first few minutes of operation.
I took it to the store and they said that they'd change it if it's faulty but it'll take a week.... anyways back to the old Hermes.....
Hello, just letting you know that I got my jade back last night.
The local dealer sent it to HTC somewhere and replaced the mainboard. it seems fine. Lets hope it doesnt die again

My hero is half dead after reset & reboot!

Hello.
Now I got a serious problem with my Hero.
I made a factory reset, reinstalled my apps from the Market, changed my APN settings and turned the phone off.
I try to turn it on again - But now it stuck at the HTC logo and keep flashing over the letters like normally.
I get past the HERO and the little android dude just fine, but can't go on from the HTC icon.
Ive tried back + on/off to make a reset, but the same thing repeats. Stuck at HTC icon :/
For sure Im going to take contact to both HTC and my operator (Telmore - Denmark) tomorrow :O
Any one got an idea what this can be? I havent rooted or flashed nor touched my phone in any unoffical way.

Remove the battery for a while and then place it back and start youre phone again. That might solve the problem.

Maybe half an houre or so. Its just a tip I read about of some that had a bad factory-restore. Some even left the battery out overnight.

Really dont know if this will work for you. I do hope so. You also might leave youre sim-card out while starting the first time. You wrote you changed something in the APN settings...
you can also try removing the SD-card. a broken / incorrectly formatted card can also trigger this behaviour.
Ive tried both with and without simcard and sdcard.
I just putted my battery in again.. still no luck :/
Damn its hard to live without the Hero :O
I had the same problem and had to return it to the supplier. Has been away for over 1 week now. I would be very interested to know what the cause/solution is.
I reflashed it with the 2.7.3 update.
Now it works again!

Touchpanel has died!

I was sitting down and cleaning my display with a fiberclouth that was in the case with the screenprotector. I was not using any hard preassure or anything.
When I was finish cleaning the touch function don`t work anymore! It does not respond to any touch, but hardware keys work perfect.
I have tryed hard reset also.
The mobile works great when I am using it trough MyMobiler with my computer.
Anybody who has experience somthing simular?
Hope the I can return it. It is under 2 months old!
Well contact HTC directly, just say your Touch screen doesn't response anymore and they should help you! I hope all goes well GL.
I had the same problem. I contacted HTC and they gave me the address of the local service center. The techician replaced the screen and the repair cost was covered by the warranty.

I have sent my device to my local service center now!
Hope they will fix it fast! How long time did you wait, and do you know what exactly they fixed?
I waited 3 days. They replaced 3 parts: SUB-ASSY, LCM, LEO.
I asked them what those parts are and they said it's complete LCD with touch panel.

Seems to be that there is an hardware-error?
I send my phone back today to get a new one, or, to get the repaired one. (last would be nice because i forgot to backup my contacts )

Sorry to tell you this, but even if it is the same phone, they're 99% sure to do a factory reset before sending it back.
Finally I got my phone back!
They have replaced the LCD, touchpanel and some small parts.
It took a while, but I bought the Nexus one after I sent my HD2 in. Funny to test it, but when I recived my HD2 yesterday, I remembered why this is my primary phone! =)
I just love the LEO!!!!
Let`s hope that this problem I and a couple of others have had is not a common hardwear problem!

the flashlight doesn't work when the battery is low. after a full charge, try it again.

Maby I have found out something!
I downloaded a app from opnmarked, htorch is the name.
When I try opening it, I recive a error that says: Error finding the DLL or the "camera_Init" entry point: Can`t find PInvoke-DLLen HTCCamera1.dll

i used PC companion to reper it if it a bug or something hard reset, the phone worked but no signal at allll please if any1 has any idea please tell me

SIM card issue?
i tried my sim on my X1 it works fine...
only on my x10 when i woke up this morning and all this problems happened and after i hard reset my phone works but no SIGNAL at all....my phone never fell down from me nor got het by anything..simply just woke up found it going nuts.....
try SEUS instead of PC Companion
if that didn't solve the problem then type *#*#4636#*#* on dialer. it will bring up a screen. make sure to set the "preferred network type" to the correct type. press the menu button and select the correct radio band.
if all those don't work, if you bought it from a store, take it back.
my phone lost signal about 2 weeks after I bought it.. did a factory data reset.. and it worked for a few hours then died again...took it back and swapped it the day after..
i found out that nth is working but when im out side there is a very weak signal.... my phone is not garenty on it so i will pay and get F**** thanks a lot if there is more solutions i would try them all
The other thing you could try is to get a new SIM card from your provider. It might help in conjunction with a another factory reset. Without a guarantee though you may just be screwed!

Fair enough buddy.. you get a 12 month guarantee included in the UK.. and I get free mobile insurance through my bank account.. so it's not something I need worry about (thankfully)!

No signal for a while now..

Hi guys. I've been having this odd issue for the past three days, and now I have to carry a second phone for calls, which defeats the purpose of the phone in the first place.
Out of the blue, my phone can't connect to the mobile network. It just shows no bars and a "refreshing" icon, continuously spinning. I have tried restarting the phone, turning the airplane mode on and off, removing the SIM,tried another SIM, soft reset, hard reset, created a new APN with the details directly from the carrier, manually searched for the network, automatically searched for it, you name it. Everything without success.
Has anyone experienced that? It's extremely frustrating. Let me know if younhave any other ideas. Cheers!

If nothing helps, especially soft/hard resetting it, then I suggest you should return it to warranty...

Can't do that, unfortunately. The phone was a present and the person that gave it to me doesn't have the warranty papers anymore...

Well the last method I'd do if I were you, is to try flashing different original ROM (.kdz) using LGUP software or any known method.
If the phone is within the time frame for the warranty you can contact LG and see if they can verify the purchase and see if they'll honor the warranty.
Are you sure nobody blacklisted your device? If this happened all of a sudden, check your phone's IMEI on any blacklist checkers online.

Problem solved!
It seems that the problem is indeed, the fact that my phone was blacklisted. I thought I got a good deal on this phone if I bought it second-hand. Apart from contacting the seller, is there anything else that I can do? I don't know where he bought the phone from, and it is unlocked as well. Any recommendations?

On what network did you use this phone? I would recommend you contact both your network and go on http://imeipro.info/ and contact them and ask them what steps can you take to remove your phone's IMEI from the blacklist db.
