sharing wifi internet with my laptop

hi guys,
I have a tmobile mda iii, i can connect to and browse the internet via wifi. I want to be able to browse the internet on my laptop using that connection (over a usb cable).
I think the solution lies in 'Wireless Modem', but I can't find out how to use it with a wifi Internet connection. (It appears to be designed for gprs, and csd internet connections only).
Any help/pointers will be appreciated

Internet access via WiFi on XDA IIs

Forgive me if this has afterall been asked before, copious use of the search function has returned nothing of any use or in most cases, any relation.
I've recently aquired an O2 XDA IIs, unlocked, and I'm using it with my T-Mobile sim card. I'm trying to access the internet via the WiFi connection, but every time I attempt to connect (for example with MSN Messenger) it tries to connect via GPRS. I've tried making a new connection in settings, or editing existing connections, and yet all I'm presented with to connect through are these:
Bluetooth Dialup Modem
Cellular Line
Cellular Line (GPRS)
Generic IrDA
Hayes Compatible on COM1:
^I don't see a "Wireless LAN" option there.
If anyone could shed some light on this, it would be -very- much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

wi-fi has a setting of it's own in the connection manager which needs to be switched on before you can connect to anything.
You need to connect to your wi-fi network, then activate MSN Messenger etc

Internet access via home WIFI network

I am having a seriously senior moment.....
I have a GPRS connection on my Hermes 300 running WM5 which connects to the internet OK, and I have a WIFI connection on it which connects to my home network OK. My home network also works through an ADSL wireless router / hub to connect to the internet.
How do I arrange my Hermes WIFI connection to access the internet via the ADSL router? my mind is totally blank on this

Using your phone as a wireless (wifi) adapter for your PC?

Hey guys, i was wondering if windows mobile 6 could connect your phone through wifi, and then share that wifi connection with your PC? 3g is pretty slow in my area, and we dont get the broadband service installed in our new apartment for another week or so. However, i can connect my phone to a few wireless networks that are close by. It would be nice if i could share that wifi connection with my PC, so i wouldnt have to deal with the crappy 3g here. Essentially I want to use my phone as a wireless adapter, then sharing that connection to my PC through BT or USB. The internet share in WM6 only alows for you to select your GPRS internet connection to share. An update/fix/or 3rd party app that could do what i want would rock.Thnks.

Problem Using WIFI on Orbit 2

How can I use WI-FI to connect my O2 Orbit 2 Xda to the internet instead of Mobile Data when I am at home?
I have Mobile Internet as my free bolt on from O2 and the Mobile Data works well.
However at home I have a Linksys wireless router and I want to connect my Xda to the internet using my home wireless network to take advantage of the faster data speed.
Getting my Xda to connect to my wireless router seems to have been very easy. It says it is connected and shows a full set of green bars.
Having turned off Comm Manager / Data Connection when I use IE / Email / MSN etc from the Xda, Comm Manager / Data Connection turns back on and establishes a connection and the Xda uses Mobile Data not WI-FI.
With all the collective expertise in this forum I had hoped I would get a reply / answer to this problem by now
what problem are you having? I've got my orbit 2 talking to my BT home hub no probs. When I got it, I simply switched on Wifi from comms manager, it found my wireless network and I entered the WPA key and hey presto - off it went.

My Orbit 2 will connect to my home network (Linksys WRT300N) no problem.
However when I collect email or surf the web etc my Orbit 2 decides it would rather use my Mobile Data and not the WIFI.
My mobile data is the FREE bolt on from O2 so it is not costing me any thing extra, however I would like to use WIFI at home because it is faster, and because I should be able to.
