WM6 Screen Tap sounds - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

has anyone pinned down the location of the screen tap sounds? in wm6 they are much more subtle and socially acceptable and I would love to have them for my new hermes. a search of the forums for screen tap sounds revealed very little. also I searched the windows directory for .wav and .amr files and found nothing worth noting. I have a Wizard with WM6 and this new 3.3 rom for my tytn available to me so if someone can point me the right direction I can begin the search.

check this thread.. it may have what you are looking for:

MP3's as Ringtones?

I have copied over some MP3's onto my MDA and would like to use them as ring tones however I am anable to see them in the list when I try to assign the new tones. Does anyone know how to do this?
OK, here's what you do.... You move your mouse to the area above your post in this thread. You will notice in blue writing a button called "Search" (it has a little magnifying glass beside it, just in case you get confused). Now click on this button. In the search box you type MP3 RINGTONE and choose the option to match all words.
Now go through the list of dozens of posts made by people asking the same question. You will have no problems finding your answer and if you did this first you wouldn't have to wait for a sarcastic reply like mine.
many appologies - thanks for help - though 1 liner saying "use search - existing topic" would have been adequate
Just copy the Mp3 file to the /Windows/Rings folder and you should now see them in the list.
I'd love every newby finding out simple things (the easy or the hard way, doesn't matter) contributing by creating a Wiki page...

Help for a newbie please...

Hi, I have recently taken delivery of a XDA Mini S on O2 (pay monthly) but it is sooooo slow at opening and closing programs it has started to annoy the hell out of me (especially Tom Tom).
I have read a couple of articles about how to speed things up but now I can't find them (even after searching)
I have updated the ROM to the latest version (and did the basic install) but it doesn't seem to have made any difference at all.
The other question I have is (and sorry if it's a silly one but again I have searched for answers on here) can you change the text message ring tone/alert?
I have managed to add my own MP3's for use as ring tones but I can't see where to add the new tone to use as a incomming text message alert tone (I have tried adding it to several places but it never shows up).
Thank you in advace
Hey go to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=39725&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 registry wizard should help you with some registry hacking to speed up a bit, mind you nothing drastic, but it should help some, as far as the notifications go, they are probably kept in the \windows folder and I suppose that they need to be a specific format or something. Alarm1.wav for example is PCM audio 11025 Hz Mono at 176 kbit/s file size is 17kb mayb if you encode a file to those specs it may work.... mayb haven't really tried so I'm not sure.

FlowFX

I know there are a lot of posts about this, though this one is a bit different. I was wondering, now that I've seen things like touchflo, buttonflo etc., if it would be possible for the final version of some FlowFX. Not necessary TouchFlo, but I mean that flip, fall and slide effect from Aspecto Software for instance.
Example:
When you enter File Explorer from say the start menu, you see the Flip effect. If you enter a directory inside the File Explorer you see a Slide effect. And when you exit the File Explorer (to perhaps the Today screen) you see the Fall effect.
Perhaps this has been questioned before (and perhaps it's already possible, if so could you post the link to it?) but I'm new and I've searched the keyword "FlowFX" and found nothing useful.
By the way, if it was possible, would it be in a .CAB file or would you have to flash your device?
Bump
Give it one more day before it disappears in the oblivion of posts.
If I'm requesting something that has already been done, could someone please be so kind to tell me which thread it was
Im guessing it would be more of a cab. But from what I've seen, most of this touchflo stuff is mostly for WM6.
everyone has been working on touchflo and buttonflo. I havent read anything abt Flowfx. But if you're good at developing or wanting to develop it, go right ahead.

Even though it is an old post, i'm replying just bcos if anyone searching stumbles upon here then they will find the solution.
This is the thing you hav to write in the shortcut for backlight
24#ctlpnl mybacklight.cpl,0
It worked in my Atom.
hey, thanks for response. it is indeed very helpfull.
working fine in my atom life
This doesn't work for me, neither does the original shortcut syntax. i'm using WM6.1 on an HTC Mogul. I've tried almost every other shortcut in the list, and they work fine. It's just the backlight one giving me trouble.
there was another thread that I found and used the program they suggested to make the shortcut to the backlight settings http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=340974&page=4
I am putting up some screen shots of exactly what I typed in to each field. Replace "test shortcut" with whatever you want your short cut name to be.
I assume that I am using a stock rom, as I have not made any changes to it. Hope this helps.

getting this phone, where to start...

hi,
i am getting this phone in a few weeks on vodafone(uk).
i have looked in a few threads but i was getting a bit lost so,
when getting this phone from new what would you do with it...
what would you change in the settings...
what programs would you remove...
what programs would you add...
any help would be great thanks.
Hi Markyc101, welcome to the forum/X1 Owners' club!
I too was a bit lost in the beginning, and didn't know where to start because of the large amount of detailed info.
Before you start doing anything really, you should read about the WinMo OS, and what a ROM is (and what it means to load a different one). Even though this is already pretty advanced, it's the most core aspect of the device and therefor I found it a logical place to begin. This info, and other basics, can be found in the Wiki (a sticky thread if I'm not mistaking).
Moving on, the further changes (as I see it) fork into two categories: appearance & functionality.
Appearance can be tweaked with SKtools (really hardcore, i.e. setting the width of scroll bars in pixels) and other tools that modify the registry. There are also some more gentle options, like skins etc.
Functionality can be added by numerous programs, it's really so diverse it's easier to start at the goal than the source. With this I mean there are too many programs to list, specify what you want to do (i.e. navigate, use phone as flashlight, play sweet video's, etc) then people can be of help.
Don't ask us what WE would add/remove, as this doesn't neccessarily apply to you. Furthermore, tip for your next forum post: the more specific, the more answers you'll get!
Good luck, post back when you know better what you want.
I think these threads will help you a little.. Im also first time using this kind of phone (Windows Mobile).. Hang out over here a little and you'll naturally know more
XPERIA X1 LIBRARY: All available ROMS RADIOS FLASHING TOOLS TUTORIALS APPS

Resco File explorer (useful)

Congrats! I just ordered mine today, to replace my Fuze.
thanks dancemacabre that was what i was after,
some of those programs look really good i will have to check them out.
if anybody else has any good programs i should check out please let me know.
i am not very techy but i would like some flashy new things on my phone.
thanks,
I'm planning to buy this phone too This thread is quite interesting
But when I see the Official ROMs thread for Xperia X1, all I see are codes (names) of the roms :-s
But is there a releaselog with the updates? So I can check the improvements/updates with the ROMs.
Probably one of the first I would install is Advanced Config... for me way more functionality than Xperia Tweak... its a must have...
TBH the more you play with your phone and figure out what you want to do with it then do a search based on those goals the more personalised and indespensible it will become...
This is a great phone, bet u will like it replying with my x1 with wifi now..
Imo, TouchFlo3D is good n flashy but its laggy.. and i prefer the default panel as its clean n easy to see
If you really wan a taste of TouchFlo, u can go over the ROM sub-forum and look for itje 's Touch-It v4.5. There're step by step tutorial provided for the installation. Remember to back up always
N a little tips, put your mp3 for ringtones in My Documents in storage card. X1 can detect the folder and u wont need to put ur mp3 in the phone itself!
That's all! Have a nice day
exactly the thread i was looking 4!
