After SR I have apx 40% of program memory free. I put the TYTN in the cradle and memory starts running down quickly until 5% where the TYTN stops functioning. This just started today.

I did a search but didn't find what I was looking for so I apologize if this has already been posted.
So last night the phone was working fine. When I get up this morning it was off and would barely boot. I would see the boot screen for about 5 secs or so and then it would just shut off. I would occasionally get it to do the same thing after removing the battery for a while but that's it. It wouldn't even charge (no lights or anything when connecting to a charger). So now I just removed my miniSD card and now it's charging. What's up with that? I'm using an ATP ProMax 1gb card that I got from newegg after I got the phone. It was working fine for the most part and this is my first real issue.
The second issue I had with this card (though it's more of an annoyance than an issue) is that when hitting the power button to bring it out of sleep, Spb Pocket Plus wouldn't update the display of the card's free space. It would show the same as the internal memory free. I would have to eject the card and re-insert it for it to update. This wouldn't happen all the time, but enough to annoy the heck out of me.
Anyone ever have either of these issues?
Quick update: with the miniSD card ejected, the phone charged and booted up fine, though the date reads November 24, 2005. I put the miniSD back in that seems fine. My battery is only showing 6% so it must've died overnight, but why wouldn't it charge? I had it connected to my car charge (was out of town all day) and that charger has worked before without any problems. Very weird indeed.
TIA!
I have a kingston 1 gig and my card doesn't give me that problem with SPB pocket+. But it does eat up 9-12mb of ram when i plug it in which is extremely annoying. As to why your device didn't charge with the card.. i don't know, maybe because your battery was completely dead the charger needed to be plugged in for a bit for the device to recognize the charge
Not charging...
I don't know what's going on but I had the same issue this very week with the MiniSD card...
and it was working superbly.
Had an accidental battery drainage... for some reason now it won't even charge. Trying removing the storage card, the battery... everything.
I'm leaving it on the charger even if the lights do not indicate its charging

I have an Imate Jasjar (1.12.38 WWE)
It is giving a rather weird problem. When the power is less than about 40%, the device shuts down (slowly fading screen) if any intensive program is run or multiple apps are opened. After this when I try to boot the device, it shows me the blue Imate spalsh screen and slowly fades off and shuts down.
However the moment I plug it into the usb port of my computer or the external charger, it boots up and works perfectly fine even if I remove the power, till it shuts down again that is.
Another way to simplify my statement could be that the device is showing the power status higher than it actually is. Which explains the booting up with external power.
Any suggestions as to how I can rectify this. This is really troublesome as the phone often shuts down while Im out and I cant really do anything except keep the device charged to the brim at all times to keep it functioning.
Another issue I have is that the device when connected to Windows XP via activesync gives an error "USB device not recognized"
I have tried using different computers and USB cables, but the problem is persistent. But if I keep it connected for long, it sometimes gets connected and syncs. The device has no problem getting charged due to the faulty USB connection though.
Any suggestions on this front?
Thanks in advance.
Sounds like you need to buy a NEW BATTERY.
OK, Thanks.
Any idea about the USB error?
I have very similar behaviour from my Uni (technically an SPV M5000 from Orange Switzerland), but somehow, I doubt it's the battery which is at fault.
I also see the powering down, with fading screen, and then refusing to come back up again (display fades out again on splash screen), but I've observed it with various levels of charged battery. It has happened at 85%( according to both the standard battery meter, and ilauncher meter) as well as at 30% and various levels in between.
If I plug in it, I can boot the device, and after that, the battery runs down normally. I doubt this would work if the problem really were the battery.
I've noticed that the problem arises most often when I'm accessing the internet, either by 3G or wlan. So far, it has never happened when I wasn't actively using the device (meaning I've never taken it out of my pocket and found it in this annoying state).
Any ideas?
Btw, I'm currently using Laurentius WM6 V7 ROM, but I observed the same behaviour with Ivans WM5 (I forget which version) before.
For the USB problem you could try connecting it and opening the device manager (right click My Computer, Properties, Hardware, Device Manager) and deleting the "Unknown Device" that pops up when this happens. Remove the cable, reboot.
This fixed it for me, but I had to do it again a few weeks later.
Oh, and a new battery is the other problem. I got one last week for about £5 from Ebay.
By the way, my Exec seem not to realize when will my batt full. I see 100%, and I wait for more than 1 hour later, but the LED doenst change green, it remains amber. What the heck with my fone?? My batt or my fone fault??
Hi,
I have 2 8125's and one of them acts real weird. It charges upto 100% and the green light comes on the top of the PDA. Then as soon as I unplug the PDA, the power meter shows that it is only at 40% (it varies from 40%-80%) charge... When I plug it back in, it starts charging again and the PDA has the orange light.
I have reformatted it, installed a fresh rom update from htc's website. And it still does it. I bought a new battery, and it started doing it to that too. ANY HELP would be awesome.
Thanks in advance.
The problem is that the phone is suddenly becoming extremly hot anytime it is charging or turned on. If I turn it off and let it cool down and then turn back on it becomes very hot in just few minutes. The battery after all night charging will discharge in 30 minutes max if i don't touch the phone, if I do anything or softreset it will discharge in immiedietly. If it has 95 % before softreset after it will be be like 5% and giving me alert about low battery level. Charging process is also much slower than normal, after 5 hours it will be around 50%. Before it was up to 100% form 5% in 4 hours max. This is all about power problems that made me think it could be battery dying... but propably not the case :/ Plus the battery doesn't heat up only the shiny black part around usb port is the place from where all the heat comes.
The other problem is that active sync or usb mass storage connection cannot be established. The computer doesn't see the phone at all. Moreover it will always charge the phone via usb even if I disable charging via usb in power options.
I tried a couple of hard resets and reinstalled newest official rom available on htc europe website from nbh file on a card (since usb is not working and I had spl 1.56 from that rom on the device already) This didn't help.
I am pretty sure now it is not a software fault or mechanical injury since I've never dropped the phone and always had it in this htc sock. No water contact was ever possible. It was just a regular day when this happend and I noticed it when the phone was in my pants pocket and started to burn my leg. Think it is some hardware issue related to usb port or anthenas since this is the source of heat.
Already returned my HD for fixing, but just thought I would let everybody know what happend to me. Anybody had a problem like that with their phone or maybe knows what is going on with this crazy Touch HD device?
My HD has started doing this in the last 10 days!
The black shiney part is get way hot, even when its not even on charge!
It wouldn't connect to active sync but would just as a disk drive.
The battery is running down to about 60% from 100 in less than 1.5 hours with no use!
I've never dropped the phone, spilt anything on it or anything.
I've hard reset it twice, and it was back to normal for a day, then started doing it again so i turned the phone off and charged it over night, was normal for about 5 hours after turning it back on, and now its started doing it again! I'm going to try the test on HTC's website to test if its a faulty battery but this doesn't explain why its getting so hot????
Let me know how yours turns out, i'm going to call orange insurance and see what they say!

Hello, everyone. I have recently installed android on my HD2 using a guide here on the forums. Everything worked so perfectly until I bought an extended battery. The battery is 2300, and it is an official HTC battery. The problem is if i put the extended battery and turn on the phone, the phone starts fine, loads and but right after 1 second when the home screen is loaded the phone crashes. I tried with and w/o SD card, connected to the charger and the problem still persists. But when i put the old battery, everything works just fine. Do i need some kind of software update? a driver? or is the battery defective?
Try to charge your battery, with phone off, for a few minutes and then turn it on. Maybe your extended battery came empty...
