Have got ActiveSync V3.7.1 but have problems connecting the XDA2 after it has been initially bonded via USB. After I bond it for the first time, whether or not it will connect is completely random, some days it will but more often than not it won't connect.
When I place the XDA2 in the cradle, XDA2 turns on and the signal bar changes as if you were connecting to internet. On the desktop the activesync icon turns green and tries to connect. However, after a second the screen on the XDA2 appears to 'refresh' and the signal bar returns back to normal and I cannot sync. The poor desktop meanwhile still attempts to connect to no avail.
Soft resets don't work, re-installing ActiveSync doesn't fix the problem either. Removed all partnerships and can connect and sync first time round when you bond the devices, but after that, I get problems. Can anybody help?
Anybody?
I have a new problem with ActiveSync.
When i connect my cradle to the laptop (via usb) activesync connects to the device, i hear the nice connected sound from my speakers and the green activesync wheel starts turning while it displays a "looking for changes" message...
My device shows that its connected via activesync and the tray icon is visible.
After a few seconds, i hear the disconnect sound, Activesync disconnects and the tray icon on my ppc disappears. However the wheel in Activesync remains turning for a while and then it also stops, becomes grey and it says "not connected".
This happens whether i connect via usb or bluetooth. in both cases it connects adn then disconnects. i have removed the partnership, uninstalled activesync on my PC and reinstalled it and recreated the partnership but still nothing doing.
I hate ActiveSync...
help Sad

check you PC Sychronization Options
Programs>ActiveSync>Tools>Options>tab PC>Options
Does is say
When Syncing Remotely
(O)Maintain Connection
( )Disconnect when done
Try checking or selecting Maintain connection.

I have a weird problem I would like to share with you guys, may be someone knows the cause and can help explaining this to me.
I have set on my XDA to sync to the Exchange Server via the GPRS link manually, for both peak and non-peak timing.
Usually after finish synching, I always disconnect the GPRS connection immediately.
But I noticed that ActivSync always initiates the GPRS connection later by itself 15 minutes after I disconnect the previous session. Formerly I did not know what program actually initiate the GPRS connection, but then I found out that it was the ActivSync that did that, from the time shown, when the last time it was synced to the Exchange server. And, after that "undesired" session, it never disconnect the GPRS session.
So, I always find my XDA connected to the GPRS network, even though I had make sure I disconnect right after I finish synching.
This only happens with my XDA which runs the WM 2003.
My other PPC, Universal, does not have this problem.
I got issue with parlingo. Doesn't want to connect or keep connection by itself. When i make a connection by sending/receiving emails or opening any address by opera parlingo connects without any problems but as soon as i close other application connection terminates and Parlingo can't connect by itself again .... any ideas?
Anyone have a strange issue when Outlook is open and syncing with the WM device after disconnecting the WM device the Outlook connection window immediately comes up. At this point I cannot send/receive it fails to connect to the pop server.
It does not happen all the time but sometimes it does. I have to reboot the PC to get Outlook to find the pop server again.
Help...thx
