Hi ! I have a big problem ...
After listening some music with the handsfree
it seems that the ppc remained stucked on handsfree
I cannot use the phone without handsfree.
I managed to hard reset by using clear storage from settings
but that didn't help
That is very very strange.
How did you switch audio to the hands free? (app / reg hack).
Any way, try the following:
Hold camera + comm manager (left side) + power (right side) and reset. This should restore the phone to factory settings.
I did hard reset, it didn't help
For using handsfree I just plug in the jack.( 2 earphones, 1 mic , volume control , and .. the jack ofcourse )
Sorry, I was thinking Bluetooth. My mistake. (I thought it might be a registry thing 'clean storage' didn't get)
If this is from a wired head set, then I think you have a hardware problem with your connector or the speaker.
This might require a trip to the lab. Is the phone still under warranty?
my mistake
clear storage , it is a function in settings - sistem
and it does the same thing as hard reset
well it still has waranty , but I think I lost it
Just got the same Problem today. Very strange. Not sure if it is a Hardware or Software problem.
if u manage to do something pls let me know
There's a problem with the handsfree connector, as it is too fragile it thends to break leaving the phone thinkinig the handsfree is allways pluged-in... You have two choices substitute it yourself by unsoldering the connector and soldering a new one or to make your warranty active
yes
i realized today that this might be the problem.
but where can I find that kind of connector ?
I live in romania and I am not sure I cand get something
like that from around here
Does it have a special name or smtngh ?
or can u provide a link from an onlineshop pls ?

Hi to all,
i'm in a deep trouble with my jasjar, after 2 months of work it simply stopped to use internal speaker & mic for phone calls, but it plays the usual ringtone...
it can't play mp3 and so on, but it plays the ringtones but not the alarm or sms things... so my question:
is the speaker really broken or what?
i noticed that sometimes with jasjar in portrait mode it works... no way in landscape, so i was thinking of some electrical connections between the lcd and the turning pieces...
i'll probably return to the assistance but i'd like to know your experiences...
sorry for my english and thanks to all in advance.

Doesn't seem like a hardware problem. Did you try doing a hard-reset? Just press on "clear storage" in programs. Should restore your device to factory state. Hope you have backed up your PIM data through activesync. If you haven't then just copy the pim.vol file on your device to your computer. You can replace it after a hard-reset and all your PIM data will be restored.
Post your results here after the whole process.

i forgot: i've already tried an hard-reset and then a rom upgrade.. nothing seems to change...
it sounds strange to me too, cause the speaker is not gone at all, but it is a difficult thing to manage ...
what about electrical connections between the screen and the keyboard device? is it possible that it screwed up from a turn to another?
Matteo,
When my speaker and mic did not work (and ringtone did work!) I tested the sound with the wired headset. Everything worked.
Then I pulled the headset out again and the speaker sound is back. So it was a contact. But it felt like a software problem.
The Jasjar thought that my headset was still in.
Even the "speaker on" button did not react.
Does it change in "speaker off" when you click it during a call?
I think it will help to plug in and out the headset.
But give it a shot.

^ that's exactly what happened to my old imate jam. I did this and it worked! As far as i can remember, i was on the plane (14-hour flight) while using the jam as my mp3 player, the battery just died (after warning ofcourse) and when i tried to power it back on, the speaker is messed up.

Then it could be a software error in stead of a loose contact.
The PPC thinks that the plug is still in and needs "reprogrammed" by putting it back in and pulling out?
The fact that the "speaker on" button can not toggle itself anymore is a clear signal. In my case it could have been, because I pulled it out while Skype was hanging, so again no option to "tell" the Jasjar it is pulled out?
But of course an ordinary loose contact is still possible?

I dont think this is the problem....he's reflashed the rom, done a hard reset...nothing has helped
I guess your hardware has indeed coughed up!
S
OK, then still we have not heard from Matteo, if he tried to move that plug in and out.
If he hears the ringtone and cannot speak/use the mike then he can be concentrated on that plug. Certainly if his wired headset works.
But if he reflashed we can be sure it is no software. (Still after reflashing some settings remain intact. )
Right/wrong?
At least in my case, with the same symptoms, it worked.
Huib
Hi man, thank u for ur reply...
u'll probably won't believe to me but when i saw ur post i did the plug in&out trick with the wired headset... nothing changed.
Today after some bluetooth problem with my old jabra it started again to work perfectly.. sounds strange? sounds impossible but that's it....
maybe the wired connector was having problem, but i think there is a more complex situation, maybe somethin' about the software but i can't say that for sure...
i didn't try yet a reset or so on.... i'm scared
thank u all guys, u'r the best...!

Matteo,
I am happy you solved it.
It is always a problem to start a discussion with the supplier about problems like this.
Good luck in the future!

JASJAR PARTS
I have a complete JASJAR worth of parts available.
Complete motherboard, not working
Complete screen, LCD is cracked, works, with 5% of the screen bleeding.
Full case, no cracks.
Speakers, mic, camera, etc.
All covers in good condition.
I will probably part them out soon on Ebay.
I used this unit for parts to build up another good JASJAR, but it may be useful for someone.

Hi Tim!
I really need one d-pad button (if it is a seperate thing then the big one without the center button). If you can sell it to me, please send me a mail.
THX
FWIW, my Jasjar has been acting strange lately with sounds. The other day I thought my speaker was toast and found that, upon going into Sounds & Notifications, all the checkmarks for sound were unticked. Turned the sounds back on and, wow, they worked.
All my mailboxes disappeared yesterday (Besides Hotmail, Outlook, Texts, MMS), so I think WM 5 might just like to play tricks with the registry. It's a long shot, but check those sounds & notifications settings - it saved me a heart attack.
Again.. Speaker Gone
Hi to all, first of all happy new year.
After several days without problem my jasjar re-started to think it's headset is still plugged-in.
No sound except for the ringtone. No effects on the speaker on in call...
Obviusly the plug-in plug-out trick of the headset doesn't help.
So, if it worked for several days it's not an electrical problem.
Hard-reset doesn't help... is there a way to tell JJ to not use the headset or something like that?
what do u think about?
thnks to all

It's seems like your headset jack is creating the probelm. The only way right now is to send it for repair. Unless you can do the repair yourself. It seems like the headphone jack , one of the contact point is connected telling your JJ that there's a headset inserted. I might be wrong though.
Thank for your quick reply,
is it possible to do some software trick to disable at all the headset?
or is it possible to attach another jack with pin connected in some way to tell JJ to not bother...

Hi
Well I just looked at the board again (it's been a while). Unfortunately, in my view, it is not possible to work on the speaker circuit other than in very crude fashion. The board is multi layer and hence you cannot trace the connections easily, if at all without a diagram. Checking circuit integrity is virtuallty impossible without proper test equipment. Even repair shops won't bother - they will just get a new board. Another frustration is that it is very difficult to work on the circuit whilst it is switched on.
So after that ramble, I'm afraid if you have checked the new speaker and it's connector block then there's not much else you can do. It is possible that part of the circuit is blown, possible through a dodgy mini usb connection!
I would certainly believe it to be hardware if you've done hard resets and tried different ROMS. In fact any ROM should work.
Mike
i was afraid of that =( well i guess i got screwed on that part thanks for the info.
Basically only just got my SPV M600 yesterday, been faffing with it etc, and now ive lost all sound, have no idea why its not playing music etc, as all the sound levels are turned up.
Is there something im doing wrong? Secret silent button? lol
Cheers
Colin
Ok well, just done a reset to manufacturer standard settings, and still no sound
Col

just to warn you - you will loose all your information on the device - so take precautions, synchronize with PC... The hard reset is performed the following way - Press and hold the Camera and the CommManager buttons and in the same time reset the device with the stylus. Do not release the Camera and the CommManager button until you see a text asking you to format the FAT. Then press send and you are ready...
so that means ill even loose operating system? how would i go about putting it back on?
Jeez i sound like such a useless bugger, i build pc's for part of my living lol
All this mobile stuff is new to me though.
Thanks
EDIT :
just done hard reset, and its still got no sound
Col
well well, just upgraded to wm6, and still no sound, also, speakerphone in calls doesnt work, i get no ringtone, this is pissing me off lol
I just want my sound back lol
Col
heeelllpp
someone must have an answer lol
Col
ok, just found a 2.5 TO 3.5 JACK THINGY for sale at maplins, will go tmoro and then try headphones on it if that fails then i have no idea what steps to take next
Colin
does it have sound when u plugin ur headset? do you always plugin ur headset to the phone? i maybe think there's something wrong with the headset jack or slot, either short circuit or whatever, i am not sure as i am no expert.
last time my neo also like that..u can try and put the headset back in again, then try to remove it again, but maybe slowly. try a few times and i think it will be ok. from that that time onwards, i never use the headset...bought a bluetooth headset.
it worked fine last nite, and ive never used a headset. thats why im gonna buy a 2.5 jack to try some headphones tommorow, see if i get sound from them. ah well, have it less than a day and it breaks lol
Cheers
Colin
FIXED
was the red wire on speaker lol
w000t
Col
How did you fix that ?
My S200 have the same problem , i have a paper up the speaker on the red wire, but sometimes it rings, and sometimes not.
What is your trick ?
Check out this thread, it may help...

This post is for the Magician, but it may help with your prophet too.
Also, there was talk about a software bug that caused problems like this. The solution was to:
Call voicemail (or somewhere that you KNOW is generating sound)
Plug in your Headset, listen for sound...
Unplug the headset.
I dont know if that was the exact solution. The above post has a link to other posts, as well.

i think your speaker is out. same problem as mine, tried the 'sponge' method & worked for a while, think mine needs to be replaced. prophet speakers tend to have a lot of problems from what i gather...
try searching in the prophet forum for 'speaker' u can find the thread that i'm talking about.
Hello everyone,
i have problem with my acer s200 im not sure if its the speaker or headphone, here is what it happen
i have no sound if i play anything music/video etc...and when i get a call i cant hear nor someone can hear me back. but when i connect my bluetooth to my phone i can talk and hear from bluetooth, but i still cant listen to music or anything trough my bluetooth. and when my bluetooth is connected i can use my phone speaker i can talk (so my mic is working) but i cant hear anyone unless i touch my phone screen and hold it...it goes same to music, if my bluetooth is connected i can play music on my phones speaker but i still have to touch my phone screen and hold it down as long as i want to hear the music.
i took it to few stores where they fix phones but they said that they cant fix it or do anything about it.
if anyone can help me, i will appreciate it.
oh and also my msn doesnt work for some reason.
iv done fresh reboot and did flash it but nothing fixed.
Thanks
This is quite a common problem with this model. If you pushed the headset pin too hard in, you might have damaged the socket. Basically there are two pins at the bottom of the socket that need to be in contact when the headset is removed. I had this problem and had to take the set back to Acer who repaired it as it was still under warranty. I think there is a DIY posted in this forum also, but it is not particularly easy. A temporary measure is this:
Get PHM Registry Editor installed and got to Tools>Find...> and type "headsetin" in "Find What:", click "Find Next" and it will show you a key under "Scenario" with HeadsetIn under Name and 1 under Data. Change the "1" to "0" and your speakers will start functioning again. The only problem here is that your speakers will function even when you have a headset in. Hope this helps.
hello
there is repairing manual in this forum with photos.u can do it by ur self easly.i did my self.
Hi to all guys!
I have an LG-E900...and some time ago i get the lg logo problem (stuck on it).
I warmed the Mother Board (the one that include sim/wifi/fm)...i solved that problem but now the speaker dosn't work.
I'll explain it better...
Is like there is always the jack put in the phone, infact if i put in an headset i can hear all.
If I get a call is all mute until I put the loudspeacker mode it's all ok, the phone switch the audio and the microphone&speaker works normally.
1) I've tried to warm again that mb but no result.
2) I've tried to unsolder the jack but same result. (I've soldered it again)
3) I've search on the motherboard something wrong but it seems all ok....=(
So now i'm asking to you all what should i do to solve this problem...
I was thinking...There is no way to modify the phone registry through the MFG for switch definitely the audio on the speaker (or for disable definetly the audio-jack, losing this feature) ?
P.s.
If i go to MFG-> Engineer menu -> Device test -> microphone test and try the microphone, and after that I'll go to try the sound test, the speaker turn on and work until i receive a call or put the phone in stand by.
So i think there is something OR on the O.S. or some faulty fuse....
Anyway some help? Any solution or try will be appreciete =)
Thanks in advance for the answers and greetings from sicily!
