Hi to all,
i'm in a deep trouble with my jasjar, after 2 months of work it simply stopped to use internal speaker & mic for phone calls, but it plays the usual ringtone...
it can't play mp3 and so on, but it plays the ringtones but not the alarm or sms things... so my question:
is the speaker really broken or what?
i noticed that sometimes with jasjar in portrait mode it works... no way in landscape, so i was thinking of some electrical connections between the lcd and the turning pieces...
i'll probably return to the assistance but i'd like to know your experiences...
sorry for my english and thanks to all in advance.

Doesn't seem like a hardware problem. Did you try doing a hard-reset? Just press on "clear storage" in programs. Should restore your device to factory state. Hope you have backed up your PIM data through activesync. If you haven't then just copy the pim.vol file on your device to your computer. You can replace it after a hard-reset and all your PIM data will be restored.
Post your results here after the whole process.

i forgot: i've already tried an hard-reset and then a rom upgrade.. nothing seems to change...
it sounds strange to me too, cause the speaker is not gone at all, but it is a difficult thing to manage ...
what about electrical connections between the screen and the keyboard device? is it possible that it screwed up from a turn to another?
Matteo,
When my speaker and mic did not work (and ringtone did work!) I tested the sound with the wired headset. Everything worked.
Then I pulled the headset out again and the speaker sound is back. So it was a contact. But it felt like a software problem.
The Jasjar thought that my headset was still in.
Even the "speaker on" button did not react.
Does it change in "speaker off" when you click it during a call?
I think it will help to plug in and out the headset.
But give it a shot.

^ that's exactly what happened to my old imate jam. I did this and it worked! As far as i can remember, i was on the plane (14-hour flight) while using the jam as my mp3 player, the battery just died (after warning ofcourse) and when i tried to power it back on, the speaker is messed up.

Then it could be a software error in stead of a loose contact.
The PPC thinks that the plug is still in and needs "reprogrammed" by putting it back in and pulling out?
The fact that the "speaker on" button can not toggle itself anymore is a clear signal. In my case it could have been, because I pulled it out while Skype was hanging, so again no option to "tell" the Jasjar it is pulled out?
But of course an ordinary loose contact is still possible?

I dont think this is the problem....he's reflashed the rom, done a hard reset...nothing has helped
I guess your hardware has indeed coughed up!
S
OK, then still we have not heard from Matteo, if he tried to move that plug in and out.
If he hears the ringtone and cannot speak/use the mike then he can be concentrated on that plug. Certainly if his wired headset works.
But if he reflashed we can be sure it is no software. (Still after reflashing some settings remain intact. )
Right/wrong?
At least in my case, with the same symptoms, it worked.
Huib
Hi man, thank u for ur reply...
u'll probably won't believe to me but when i saw ur post i did the plug in&out trick with the wired headset... nothing changed.
Today after some bluetooth problem with my old jabra it started again to work perfectly.. sounds strange? sounds impossible but that's it....
maybe the wired connector was having problem, but i think there is a more complex situation, maybe somethin' about the software but i can't say that for sure...
i didn't try yet a reset or so on.... i'm scared
thank u all guys, u'r the best...!

JASJAR PARTS
I have a complete JASJAR worth of parts available.
Complete motherboard, not working
Complete screen, LCD is cracked, works, with 5% of the screen bleeding.
Full case, no cracks.
Speakers, mic, camera, etc.
All covers in good condition.
I will probably part them out soon on Ebay.
I used this unit for parts to build up another good JASJAR, but it may be useful for someone.

Hi Tim!
I really need one d-pad button (if it is a seperate thing then the big one without the center button). If you can sell it to me, please send me a mail.

FWIW, my Jasjar has been acting strange lately with sounds. The other day I thought my speaker was toast and found that, upon going into Sounds & Notifications, all the checkmarks for sound were unticked. Turned the sounds back on and, wow, they worked.
All my mailboxes disappeared yesterday (Besides Hotmail, Outlook, Texts, MMS), so I think WM 5 might just like to play tricks with the registry. It's a long shot, but check those sounds & notifications settings - it saved me a heart attack.
Again.. Speaker Gone
Hi to all, first of all happy new year.
After several days without problem my jasjar re-started to think it's headset is still plugged-in.
No sound except for the ringtone. No effects on the speaker on in call...
Obviusly the plug-in plug-out trick of the headset doesn't help.
So, if it worked for several days it's not an electrical problem.
Hard-reset doesn't help... is there a way to tell JJ to not use the headset or something like that?
what do u think about?
thnks to all

It's seems like your headset jack is creating the probelm. The only way right now is to send it for repair. Unless you can do the repair yourself. It seems like the headphone jack , one of the contact point is connected telling your JJ that there's a headset inserted. I might be wrong though.
Thank for your quick reply,
is it possible to do some software trick to disable at all the headset?
or is it possible to attach another jack with pin connected in some way to tell JJ to not bother...

SOOOOOOOO Frustrating

I've been using Dopod 818 pro since the end of December 2005. A week ago, a problem suddenly came up. The speaker of this PPC does not work anymore.
I tried to play music using windows media player, or real player -> Does not work
I tried to use the speaker phone -> Does not work
I can't even hear anything when I make a call or receiving a call
It works when I plug in the headset. everything works perfectly.
It plays the ringtone when someone call me. (Very soft sound)
Is this a hardware problem? or is there anyway that I can do to fix it.
I bought the phone overseas (I'm located in Australia now). It takes a lot of effort to send it overseas for warranty.
Thank you
Do a soft-reset. If that doesn't help, do a hard-reset. If that doesn't work , do a ROM re-install. If it still doesn't help, then you have a faulty unit.
I've done soft reset
I haven't done hard reset
->haven't had any backup program.
Is there any free solution for backup software?
Thanks
i ve solution
well for this solution u must disassemble the phone. look at the handsfree jack and apply a jumper to the two front points of the connector. it will solve ur problem

dopod 818 pro speaker issues
I have run into the same issue with my 818 pro and my Himalaya...The fix is always uninstalling one or more applications that may be causing the problem. I assure you it's very unlikely that it is a hardware issue...Uninstall all applications and you should get the sound back..
I have the same problem with my 818 pro. I have already done the hard reset-no change, tried blowing air in and out through the headphone jack, silicone spray and playing with the plug. It appears to be a hardware issue with the sensor mechanism inside so it always thinks it has a headset connected--poor design.
Did anyone else figure out a solution for this (other than returning for repair?) This happened to me this weekend. Suddenly happened after I was using the headphone for an hour while I was rollerblading. Now I can't answer any calls without either the bluetooth or standard headphone. I can hear the ring go off, but just can't use it as a regular handset. I'm sure everyone agrees that this is a hardware issue with a poorly built headphone jack. But while I'm waiting for the retailer to restock the dopod 818 and send me a replacement, does anyone know of a hack that would allow the phone to activate the headphone AND the phone speaker simutaneously? The reasoning is I think the phone currently thinks there is a headset constantly being plugged in, so it deactivates the loud speaker as well as the phone speaker. But if there is a hack that lets WM5 to use the handset speaker and the headphone jack simutaneously, then at least I can answer phone calls without having to use the headset. Of course, this won't be a permanent solution, but it may bridge me through these tough times with the dopod.
I have to say, I still love this phone, but my patience is wearing a bit thin. First, it's the disappearing SD card (which I'm not even sure if it's solved yet), then I was having some problems with sending MMS messages, now this. :x
I had the speaker problem with my Jam. It is apparently a common problem with PPC phones, the mechanical switch in the headphone jack gets stuck. I was able to get mine to work again by plugging in the headphone jack a few times. If that doesn't solve the problem...well you know the drill
There is nothing to do but exchange it--I was never able to find a work around either. Sorry.
I had problem the speaker on my HTC Charmer. I send it for repair and they replaced the speaker, with in like a week+.
However, now there are some other problems. It seems that when I try to use the speaker (play songs, phone, games, etc), the battery drain like mad and the unit gets very hot. The unit drain so much energy that the battery will die off even if I had the unit on AC power. Going to send it back to repair AGAIN!

I had the exact same problem and suddenly unpluging the jack works for me..
this "sudden unplugging" thing won't work with Prophet, the Prophet's buzzer(speaker) problem is very common, the same thing happened to me, cost me 12$ in iran to change that part
818pro speaker problem Hardware related
I had the same problem.
Speaker unit in phone burns out very quickly.
If you have warranty - your lucky.
In my case since I bought in Singapore and Use in Israel, I had to fork out 50USD to get a new speaker unit.

What you do is open the Comm Manager, tap the "phone" icon to set to flight mode. Then, turn on again.... that should do the trick
I don't know what planet most of you guys are on.
The Prophet has a common problem with the rear speaker - it's a hardware issue as X_Farhad has pointed out.
There's no need to hard reset, and what's the crap about flight mode?
Yes, some can have a problem with the headphone socket and the solution for that is in this thread.
Mostly it's the speaker itself. The solution is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=281331
I've found a bit of sponge works better than paper - to see what I'm on about - go to the thread I've posted here.
Speaker issues and phone hangs
I also have similar issues with my Xda Neo. The speakers stops responding when i get incoming call. I mean the phone dosent ring. Then if i try any music player or ringtons, there is no sound. I have to soft reset. Sometime when i get incoming call, it dosent ring and it also hangs the phone. Then i have to hard reset. I had to use that sponge over the speaker and then the speaker works. But sometime it still hangs. Looks like either HTC or Windows Mobile has major issues. I dont know how long this sponge thing will work. Are there any solutions..

Tal,

sound problem
Dear all and administrator
can you give me solution about my dopod sound problem?
1. I just can used ring tones for receiving new messaging from the my dopod system ( I can't not used ring tones from my gallery/downloaded sound/ring tones application )
2. When new message coming and phone call coming, the sound is very small (can your's give me information how to setting that so the volume can be more loud).
Thank you very much for your's attention, I'm very apprenticed if the solution can being send to my private e-mail address at [email protected]
anyone have solutions on this issue? thanks
There is no sound. I plugged in the head phones and i can hear out of that, but when i unplug it, i get no sound. It's like its still plugged in. Can anyone help me, or has anyone else experienced this?
sorry i have an o2 xda neo
Might be another instance of a known design issue with Prophet. Many people have hit this problem - mine did this and needed to be returned for repair.
Try putting the headphone jack in again and then out. Repeat like this for a while and your sound will come back on. If it doesn't, repeat faster.
This is a known issue where the sound disappears. Basically, a switch needs to be flipped for the prophet to know that the headset is out. Sometimes, this switch doesn't get flipped and the prophet thinks the headset is still connected, while actually its not.
If my solution sounds a bit crazy, it is...but its the only way and you don't need to send it in for repair. Search around and you'll find the same solution everywhere. People have also used a safety pin. But best is the headset jack itself.
How long mate? 2 hours? 3? I wish it had worked that way. I tried everything... still no sound. I think it is a crappy hardware. I think HTC should collect all prophets... I mean if it were a decent company.
Its just a little lower quality hardware, I agree.
If that doesn't work, try soft resetting. If that doesn't work, try hard resetting.
Its better to try all options before sending it in to the service centre, where it'll get screwed around and probably be kept for 2 weeks or something, due to "unavailability of parts"..
It is not working, removing and inserting again n again, some other method, i will have to try to open it, as it is not under waranty and it is also without bill, plz suggest me something
This seems to be a major problem with the HTC Prophet as a whole regardless of the branding. I have returned mine to Orange for a replacement, they confirmed that it was hardware failure. I thought that I might have just got unlucky with a bad batch, but looking across the NET and here, it appears that all brands based on the HTC Prophet are failing.
Obviously, shoddy manufacturing, I guess HTC did a little penny pinching with the speaker system.
I have same issue with my dopod 818 pro the plug and unplug trick did not work for me I have to send my to http://www.PocketPCTechs.com they have the device repaired for me now my device is back to business now..
I have the same problem here but i bit different... i was using an external speaker system, when i unplugged the jack from my spv m600 i did't get any sound the only sound i have is when i receive a call then i hear the ringtone but when i pick up i don't hear anything and probably the other side doesn't hear me...i tried to put the jack in and out but no results now i am obliged to use my phone with the headset...
same problem...solved!!
hi, today i had the same problem...no sound at all after i unplugged an external sound system. I plugged again the 2.5mm and unplugged it very fast a few times untill i got my sound back!!!
good luck

My m600 has been back to Orange for repairs for this problem. Works again perfect now.

All,
I have a MDA Compact II using the latest T-Mobile ROM and experiencing a problem regarding incoming phone calls and text messages notifications. I have set the phone to ring full volume and text messages are assigned to an audio notification. Occasionally when I receive texts/phone calls there is no audio notification even though they are switched on. I am missing quite a few phone calls and the only way to get the audio notification back is to soft rest the phone.
Does anyone know how to get around this?
Thanks
M
Just to say I have exactly the same problem. phone working fine for 3 months then sound only after soft reset, then stops working after a couple of days. i cant attribute it to any event
U2 have probably a program installed which is eating up sound handles (i.e. not releasing them after usage). A soft-reset releases them of course. So you have to uninstall some 3rd party software to find the nasty one...
No Audio
Hi
Am running a T-Mobile Compact 2 with WM5, also installed is Spb Pocket Plus
I have no audio for any Windows Media Files or for any sounds / notifications e.g. the alarm. I do get audio playback and notifications through wired headphones. The phone will ring and vibrate when called.
2 Soft resets and the removal of an Alert progam unwittingly installed from Skyscape (medical and nursing texts for PDA) have not resolved the issue.
I have been into sounds and notifications and ticked all the relevant boxes. Interestingly in notifications I ticked the box for the device to vibrate when using activesync. It was vibrating but not making any sounds earlier.
One of the seniour guys at Pocketnow.Com has suggested that I have somehow turned down the speaker volume. If so - how do I turn it back up? Trust me when I say that the standard volume display shows volume at full.
Any ideas?
Will.
Hi
I've just got back into work tonight and synced with my work PC. When active sync started up the audio came back online. I have no idea why.
Any deas?

Still No Audio
Hi,
Last night the audio on my T-Mobile Compact 2 came back online when I was synced with my work computer - great! I even unplugged the USB lead and audio remained. I then resynced and carried on listening to headphones for a few hours while I worked. When I disconnected I found that Audio had died again. I therfore assumed that it was an issue with Activsync 4.1. I deleted the sync relationship on both my device and the PC, did a soft reset and created a new one. Still no audio.
Does anyone have any ideas about what is going on? I am thinking about a hard reset if no one has any thoughts.
Will.
Hi,
have just tried calling my deviced from a landline, what i've found is that the device will ring but that I am unable to communicate using it (Can't recieve or send voice) unless I use the wired handsfree kit. Have not tried a bluetooth headset.
Will.
Sound problems with telephone
If your PDA works when playing sound files but you cannot hear anything when telephoning, the problem is usually bad contacts on the phone earpiece.
The PDA has 2 speakers, one for sounds and a smaller one for the telephone.
You must open up the animal and clean the contacts on the motherboard.
Hope this helps.
Bob
I have the same problem...sound is often working normally, but sometimes it just stops for a few days or longer. It is very annoying to always take the wired headset with you. Soft-resetting does not help in my case. I also have SPB pocket plus installed and a wireless network SDIO card. I could however not find a general rule that makes the sound stop... e.g. installed software or activesync problems.
I read earlier about cleaning up the speakers, but I have no idea how to open up the phone. Suggestions?
It could be the problem from the wired handsfree jack/socket, once you are taking the pin out, the socket is not switching the device speaker functionality back.
The picture attached is for illustration only, and the functionality is to cut all the sounds from the device and through to the hansfree, and once the handsfree is out then to restore the device's original sound system.
Not 100% sure but someone can try to clean the jack without opening the device.
1. Switch-off the device, remove the battery, leave it for 10-15 minutes.
2. spray a minimum quantity of CONTACT CLEANER ( http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=4153&criteria=contact cleaner&doy=15m11 )
3. Leave the device again for 10-15 minutes to evaporate any moisture
4. Put back the battery and try now.
GoodLuck
Sidd
Has anyone tried yet??
yes, hands-free socket could be the problem
My beloved Jam suddenly lost sound yesterday, and it does seem to have been caused by a physical failure inside the hands-free socket. I was able to fix the sound by opening up the device, opening the little black box that houses the socket, and tweaking the contacts.
All sound suddenly disappeared except for bluetooth and the wired hands-free earphones. Without using those accessories, there was no phone audio, no sound from speaker (from ANY source), and--interestingly--the mic did not work at all. But calls worked fine through the BT headset, and all sounds from all sources came through the wired earphones when they were plugged in.
This evidence all pointed to the existence of a switch inside the hands-free socket that was stuck, telling the device to send all sound to the wired earphones even when they weren't plugged in. After opening the device and the box that houses the socket, I pried the contacts a bit with a pocket knife, hoping to ensure that when the there's no jack inserted in the socket, the device will know it. Sure enough, after I put things back together, sound is once again functioning properly. Whew!
BTW, the problem started after I took the Jam skiing so I could listen to music. It might even have been caused when the earphone jack was violently pulled out at one point. Anyway, I had already decided not to try that again, because the Jam seems to stop functioning reliably above 9,000 feet.
Hi, I had the same problem as all of you, what i did to fix it was...
1. plug in handsfree
2. pull handsfree ^up^
3. now slowly pull out
This should cure the problem as it cured mine

same problem here
I, too have an t-mobile MDA and have had the same exact sound problem with and and have exchanged two with t-mobile - all three lost sound after a day or two and the only thing that brings it back is a soft reset. I do NOT use a hands free unit pr plug anything into the headphone jack so that's not the problem. T-Mobile claims to know nothing about this problem....

well, i was experiencing the same problem when uninstalled "pocket zen phone" application. after uninstall, charmer sometimes lost sound completely and only softreset brings the sound on again. hardreset solved this completely, not using PZP anymore...
Hi I have this same problem with my T-Mobila MDA Vario II, it did hapen before to me but i just did hard reset and thath solved the problem, but this time it didn't helped. I allready reflash MDA with 3 different systems and still this same, i was trying to plugin in and out handsfree kit but that didn't help. MDA doesn't have any sound now, only thrue handsfree kit. Is any one have any more ideas what i can do?
It unblocked it self after 24 hours lying on the shelf, so still don't know what's couising the problem.
Hey all, im glad this site is up its been great finding what i can really do with my wizard!
here is he issue im having. the wizard has 3 different speakers and 1 microphone. 2 side speakers (used to play music, or speaker phone) and the 1 main speaker (used for hearing calls). none of the 3 work when im making calls, listening to music, alarms, or any of the "screen click" sounds and the microphone doesnt work on phone calls or note recordings. however, the one time the speakers do work is when i have an incoming call, i tried listening to see which speaker its coming out of and it sounds like all 3. the headphone jack still works so thats what ive been using. pressing the speaker phone button while on a call (that i cant hear) doesnt do anything, the UI doesnt show any change or switch to indicate its changed to speaker phone and the "speaker on" button doesnt change to "speaker off" like it used to.
originally i thought this was a ROM issue, i was using the manufacturer's ROM (cingular 8125, unlocked for tmobile service) so i followed the lovely tutorial and switched my phone over to the t-mobile 2.26 ROM. this had no effect, so I then upgraded to XDA's WM6 ROM and while i love this new ROM it still did not fix my sound issue.
im stumped, any help anyone can offer would be great. I wanted to post here before i crack it open to look at all the insides.
same problem!
I'm having the exact same problem! I just noticed the problem recently, when my phones alarm didn't sound. I'm running a custom cooked rom from mattk_r 318 kitchen, but I don't think the rom is the problem, as i am indeed still hearing sound from the head phone jack. I don't think the internal speakers are broken, as when a call comes, the phone rings, and the sound come out from the speaks as mentioned above!
Help!
dropped?
have you ever dropped your phone?
I have dropped mine a couple times and thats the only cause I can come up with. But this never seemed to be a problem until recently.
no major drop recently.
i havent really dropped it recently at all.and for some reason i dont think the hardware is the problem, because i tryed voice recorder, and it records my voice and i can play it
back through the headset.so that confirms that the mic and both spealers work (rings
when incoming call). i really dont want this to be the downfall for my wizard! is there
any key registry entrys for sound maybe that we could have a look at? btw my wizards a G4 if thats makes any difference.
please help!!
mine is a g3, if it were a software issue then reflashing should have solved it. right? i dont know enough about the internal workings of the wizard to know what a flash actually does.
?
Anyone have any ideas on what I can try?
Well, a flash is an OS upgrade/downgrade. It contains drivers, programs, registry settings, things of that sort. Sounds like your problem is hardware related, nothing to do with the OS itself.
I assume the warranty on that baby has already expired, so you're pretty much on your own.
Two options come to mind:
1. The obvious... buy another Wizard
2. The not so obvious... buy another Wizard with a broken screen and take all of its guts out and put them in yours.
A third option also exists... (ther's always a third way)
Mind you, this is for INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY! In no way do I condone the below mentioned method.
Get a new line of service with Cingular and buy the Wizard to use with it. Exchange their boards, swap the IMEIs using the Wizard Service Tool utility found on these boards, cancel the line of service and return the "new" Wizard.

I have had a similar problem but located my problem to the microswitch which is in the headphone socket. Might be worth trying pulling the headphones in and out a few times to see if it allows the microswitch to release (if that is the problem?)
Steve
The wizard is magic
Some how my wizard seemed to repair it self. Its sound is working again...i didn't reflash or do anything special....weird. I think its because the phone had a good vibrate....ive got one of those speaker docks for the wizard..i put it in there...got a phone call and talked and stuff...but while it was in there (with the mic plugged it) it vibrated alot...maybe that flicked the switch mentioned above?
weird..this phone never ceases to amaze me. I just hope it doesn't happen again... because it appears to be emerging as a problem as the wizards get older?
Keep up the good work guys!
LOL!!!!!!!!! its so simple and yet so amazingly smart
wow, Steve you are the most amazing person EVER!
I put the headphone piece in about 1/10 of the way and slowly made a swirling action as i slid it all the way in, clicked the start button on wizard and i heard the "click" for the first time in a month!
Thanks!
I tried different options to get my sound back, no luck so far
Problem started after using the headset-connector to connect it to an FM-Transmitter.
After reading this thread, my guess is that the "micro-switch" is in a wrong position. So I opend my MDA, but can't find any "switch" in that connector.
Is there some more info about that connector, a connection-diagram perhaps ?
what worked for me was inserting the headset jack in roughly, robbing each side of the headset jack to try to hit the "switch". that might work for you.
Yes!!! Thank you a lot!
I have the same problem, no sound in my speakers, just vibrate and sound in handsfree. I figure out that this micro-switch could be the problem, but I haven't know how to solve it. Thank you once again, I love my SPV!! and this community.
Fixed!
Woohoo!
This problem just cropped up for me on the weekend.
Thankfully it wasn't long before I happened across this thread.
About a minute of persistent jiggling the microphone jack did the trick.
Thanks!
Basically only just got my SPV M600 yesterday, been faffing with it etc, and now ive lost all sound, have no idea why its not playing music etc, as all the sound levels are turned up.
Is there something im doing wrong? Secret silent button? lol
Cheers

just to warn you - you will loose all your information on the device - so take precautions, synchronize with PC... The hard reset is performed the following way - Press and hold the Camera and the CommManager buttons and in the same time reset the device with the stylus. Do not release the Camera and the CommManager button until you see a text asking you to format the FAT. Then press send and you are ready...
so that means ill even loose operating system? how would i go about putting it back on?
Jeez i sound like such a useless bugger, i build pc's for part of my living lol
All this mobile stuff is new to me though.

Col
ok, just found a 2.5 TO 3.5 JACK THINGY for sale at maplins, will go tmoro and then try headphones on it if that fails then i have no idea what steps to take next
Colin
does it have sound when u plugin ur headset? do you always plugin ur headset to the phone? i maybe think there's something wrong with the headset jack or slot, either short circuit or whatever, i am not sure as i am no expert.
last time my neo also like that..u can try and put the headset back in again, then try to remove it again, but maybe slowly. try a few times and i think it will be ok. from that that time onwards, i never use the headset...bought a bluetooth headset.
it worked fine last nite, and ive never used a headset. thats why im gonna buy a 2.5 jack to try some headphones tommorow, see if i get sound from them. ah well, have it less than a day and it breaks lol
Cheers

FIXED

Col
How did you fix that ?
My S200 have the same problem , i have a paper up the speaker on the red wire, but sometimes it rings, and sometimes not.

Check out this thread, it may help...

This post is for the Magician, but it may help with your prophet too.
Also, there was talk about a software bug that caused problems like this. The solution was to:
Call voicemail (or somewhere that you KNOW is generating sound)
Plug in your Headset, listen for sound...
Unplug the headset.
I dont know if that was the exact solution. The above post has a link to other posts, as well.

i think your speaker is out. same problem as mine, tried the 'sponge' method & worked for a while, think mine needs to be replaced. prophet speakers tend to have a lot of problems from what i gather...
try searching in the prophet forum for 'speaker' u can find the thread that i'm talking about.
