All my pictures are in the storage card. How do I make the Photos & Videos folder show the pictures in my storage card? I like how it shows thumbnails of my pictures.
Pic & Vid, top left corner, browse wherever you want.

Thanks but is there to make it as the default folder as soon as you click on Pics & Vids folder? Or do I have to look for the folder in my storage card every time I open Pics & Vids folder?
Bump!
Bump!
There must be a registry tweak that can do that?
edit to add - I also find it annoying.

Camera Save/Storage Problems
Specifying your own location in registry
HKLM - Software - HTC - Camera - Image - SaveFolder - xyz
where xyz is your folder name, but note this folder will be added as a subfolder of the following (in this case storage card)
auto added path:
/Storage Card/My Documents,
Note that setting a location or name other than the defaults will result in problems viewing pictures via the application, though they can be viewed by locating and opening files individually.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Camera\Image]
value of "Saveto" = 0 will save images to main memory
value of "Saveto" = 1 will save images to storage card

Hi.
I have the Cingular 8525 with Windows Mobile 5.0 with 2gb Sandisk MicroSD. In the Settings/Today/Appearance Tab, when I check on Use this picture as the background and click Browse, it only reads the Main Memory, and not the Extended Rom or Storage Card. How do I make it point to the Storage Card? I have perused through much of the registry so far.
Thanks!
Is this a joke?

No.
I do not see the option to browse for the pictures on the storage card. The camera sees them and saves to it with no problems. Windows Media sees it and loads mp3's from it no problem.
I searched for the terms.. Today Browse Pictures using the search option.
Thanks.
it does read from the card.. however it only reads 1 folder deep i believe.. so if on your card you have \storage card\folder 1\folder 2.. then this will only read the contents in as deep as folder 1.. if you leave your image just on the card and not in a folder then you will be fine

So far, it seems to only see the Main Memory in terms of the two files it sees (2 gifs in the Templates directory) which I can see with either the All Folders or Templates directory option selected.
I does see the My (pictures, documents, etc) folders but I am guessing from the main memory since I moved the contents of those to the Storage Card.
I will move a picture to the My Documents folder on the Storage Card (from the My Pictures subdirectory of that folder) to see if I get those as additional selections.
Evidently, your info regarding the more than 1 folder deal is correct. Thanks.
i couldnt remember if it was 1 or 2 but i just checked and its definitely only 1 folder deep..
Not true - I was just able to set my background using a picture that is 2 folders deep ... \Storage Card\My Documents\My Pictures. To do so I opened the Pictures & Videos application, navigated to that folder, then opened the pic. Using the Menu button I selected "set as today background ... " no problems.

that is correct, but we were specifically talking about using the function in start>settings>today. The file explorer and Pictures & Video will go as deep as you want
Just tried it, I stand corrected!
I want to change the image storage folder "my pictures" from my pictures on my device to my pictures on my storage, how do I do this?

Try in ActiveSync mode - only in this mode device memory is visible
Can someone please tell me how to move the folder My Documents to memory card?
If I save a picture from an mms, I can only save it in "Main memory -> My Documents"
I want the phone and all applications only to use My Documents on my memory card.
It's all in the registry! I'd recommend using a standard tool. If I'm not mistaken Advanced config 3.3 has the option - but don't pin me on that one.
No. Advance config doesnt work.
I don't believe you can. You can easily change the registry setting in Advanced Config which I did myself a while back, but things still save to the main memory. It's the same with the camera, you can't get it to save the images to My Pictures, it's either "DCIM" or something else.
Shame really, it would be nice if there was a way that I wasn't aware of.

You do know that in the camera settings you can choose to save in main memory or card?
Just checking
So its the software for MMS thats save files to main memory?
This is really annoying, I'll get a lot of pics from friends. If I only could change the name when saving, I'll could easily cut n paste all images to right folders. But it takes a lot of time to open a pic first, and check wich folder I want it in.
Is there a way to see images as thumbnails in list?
For camera: go to camera
Go to setting then arrow down. On the left there is an icon for camera and video. Click on it then click on save to phone or card. chose save to card.
For MMS/SMS go to option then chose storage. Click on save to storage card
[Q] Redirecting My Documents and My pictures to Storage Card does not seem to "stick"
Hi,
got my HD2 yesterday and have been toying since to set it up the way I'm used to with my previous Touch Pro and TytnII before that.
This shows again how spoiled we've been with excellent roms like the Energy Series!
I'm using the same 4GB microSD card I had on the TouchPRo since all my pictures etc are on there but I can't get the pictures displayed in the picture tab of Touchflo.
I redirected all relevant 'location' folders using Advanced Config but after soft reset, the HD2 is still displaying the demo pictures that come with the phone.
New pictures get stored on the storage card, but in the DCIM folder although I also specified the store location to be 'My Pictures'.
I tried both the pre-defined storage card locations in Advance Config, as well as the browse option to go to the relevant folder.
I though maybe it is because I have the Dutch HD2 version (yes, I could not wait as the WWE is only available on the 13th) but I checked and the storage card is named 'storage card', not some Dutch translation.
Anybody have any pointers where I could change this?
thanks a lot.
DicE
nobody who could help me? Been looking into the registry past couple of days at HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\image; HKLM\Services\Picture etc... every key seems to point to the right locations; but still when I take a picture, it doesn't show up in the TouchFlo3D interface...
help anyone?
DicE
the manual says that you must add a "album" as "favorite album" to show the pics in manila on todayscreen. maybe this is the solution?

I'm not sure this is what you're asking, but here's a quote from the manual:
Captured photos are named using the convention IMAGnnnn.jpg (where ‘nnnn’ is the counter), and are saved to the \DCIM\100MEDIA folder on the storage card.
and
To set a favorite album
The Photos & Videos tab on the Home screen displays photos and video files from the current favorite album. By default, the Camera Shots album which stores the photos and videos you captured using the Camera is set as the favorite album. You can change to another favorite album, if preferred.
1. On the Albums main screen, tap Albums.
2. On the Albums tab ( ), tap the album you want to set as your favorite.
3. Tap Menu > Set Album as Favorite, and then tap OK.
It looks to me like the pictures can be stored on the card, but only in one location and you must specify the location.
Sorry if I misinterpreted your question (I don't have an HD2 to play with yet).
-Bob-
@rebecker - you have almost miss understood The OP wants the Camera software to SAVE the photos into \storage card\My Documents\My Pictures - this does not work, none of the usual reg key changes work.
Default camea picture folder - DCIM vs My Pictures
I also have a similar problem. I've changed HKLM\software\HTC\camera\general\EnableDCIM = 0, so that I can use date/time prefix.
After the change, the HTC Album recognize \Storage Card\My Documents\My Pictures as the default camera folder. However, when I actually took a photo it went to DCIM folder... Not a big deal, but it is just a little annoying.
Any expert here know how to solve this?
Exactly the same problem. The camera saves its shoots to DCIM\100media, and not to My pictures, even if DCIM = 0...
I have 1.43 rom and I have also wanted to change default my picture and my documents folder to the folder on storage card. I didn't made it.
For the photo tab...yes I wanted few thing here too...because everytime I've set the favourite album to the storage card/photos...that was reset everytime I've connected hd2 to pc or when i removed microsd card and put it back...
The only way that I kept my favourite album fixed was with not connecting with usb or removing the card.
Ok...it takes only few seconds to change the favourite album back, but it is very annoying that hd2 doesnt remember the folder...
looks like live mesh mobile works pretty good.
I did something stupid and installed it on the storage card. I'm going to do a whole new install, and try on device to see if there's a difference. I got an error about invalid config, blah blah. it seems to loop on sync since i got the error, but the documents appear to sync anyhow.

WTF i was browsing through my pics today and came across all these random pics from facebook, like folks profile pics and some random album pics, it was under the alums setting and the my device, i mean there was about 300 pics there? How can i delete these and stop them from coming back and whats the reason for this, all i want is the photos i have taken on my phone and any other albums i have uploaded myself to the phone, any advice would be great.
Has something to do with the new version of FB that MS put out. You have a link in the albums for facebook photos. Seems it downloads all your peeps pics. And I mean ALL OF THEM! You should have a folder called fbimage in the mydocs [I think that was the folder] folder on the device. Delete the entire folder. Not sure how to stop it from happening again.
First I saw the folder, I was like "Why the hell does the FBI have a image folder on my device!?!?!"
correct.they're the thumbnails of your fb contacts albums.(picture tab, albums, albums, face book tab.there they all are....flipping hundreds of em!!
yeah i,m using the new ms Fb app it's good but this sucks

This is in the tweaks and tips thread on the first page.
64. Disable Unwanted Folders From Showing in HTC Album
Don't you find it annoying that HTC Album Shows lots of images you don't need to see when you select Albums like GPS poi icons? Now you can tell HTC Album to ignore certain folders.
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/HTC/HTCAlbum/Ignored and add a NEW STRING VALUE
Eg if there is iGO8 in the root of the Storage Card you would create a NEW STRING VALUE with Value name iGO8 and Value Data \Storage Card\iGO8
This will include all subfolders inside the iGO8 folder. Save and reset.
Use that and it stops putting them on your storage card. Worked champion for me.
Cheers
Ian
Add the new sting as \Temp using the above tip,
Bump, is there a easier way of doing this? As im not even sure how to get into the Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/HTC/HTCAlbum/Ignored and add a NEW STRING VALUE part???
Please help
I'm not sure .. I did not test it .. but if I remember correctly, you can set that folder as hidden, and it will stop showing it in Albums. I'd try doing that from PC with HD2 plugged in in sync mode (not mass storage mode).
Where is this folder located i spent ages trying to find it?
Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\HTCAlbum\Ignored
Add a new string: Name – Facebook Cache, Value – \temp\fbimagecache
(mine is imagecache so check yours in Temp Folder)
This will stop it showing in the HTCAlbum.
Install ClearTemp in the option/ settings browse the path to Device/Temp it will delete the cache on startup or you can clean manualy.

\Temp\fbimagecache (device - not storage card)
It's actually real easy to do, with the right software.
Download CeRegEditor for your PC from here. Connect the HD2 via activesync and you can edit the registry on your PC. When you locate the "Ignore" key in the registry tree, just add new string values by right-clicking on the right hand pane. Add one for every folder you want to ignore, but remember that it will also ignore sub-folders. The name can be anything you want - the value should be the folder.
Image nightmare
Hi I am really struggling with the facebook images appearing in my htc albums, ive tried the above registry tweak to ignore but it doesnt seem to work, please can anyone help me rid my hd2 of his pain.Thanks. x
