Where do you live? 3G is only rolled out to a few cities. You may have to wait a bit for those speeds
Make sure you have a 3G Sim card. Also call cingular and change from
19.99 unlimited media net to
unlimited media net + cingular video + 200 messages for 19.99
I think you may need the that package to utilize 3G, I think you only get that speed if you have a package for video (even though we cant really use cingular video)
Did that all make sense?

Hi, I've just purchased a Tmobile Wing, and I've been browsing around on these forums, and I have a few questions I couldn't find the answers to. I'm pretty new so please be patient .
1. Wifi - Through free wifi spots, are there any charges through T-mobile for using internet, using IM through clients such as IM+ and palringo, etc. Basically, are there any fees or charges attached to through accessing the internet through free wifi. Does a data plan, or any other plan have to be purchased to do this? Also, what is GPRS in relation to wifi?
2. What is a Hard/Soft-SPL?
3. More to follow
THANKS IN ADVANCE.
anyone? ha ha

SORRY FOR THE CAPS IM AT WORK SO I NEED EM ON
Forsure. Thanks a lot ilikepu. I just wasn't sure, cause I read so many posts regarding proxy settings, GRPS, etc. I got so confused, and am now still even confused about internet on the Wing and it's price. Is it just me, or does no one have as much of an abundance of free wifi spots as where I am (Berkeley, CA). Yeah, so if anyone could help me out a bit and give me some info on proxy settings and shifting from GRPS.

From My Understanding, Is That They All Have The The 5.99 Data Plan For That To Work. Cant Try It Due To Me Cleaning The Phone In The Washing Machine. (yea Not Really My Fault)
Hi Guys. Sorry to post a new thread for this, but I didn't know where else to look for answers as I have already searched everywhere with no luck. I have an unlocked AT&T Tilt on the Cincinnati Bell (in Cincinnati, Ohio) network. No matter what I try, I cannot seem to get the internet working correctly on this phone. Cincinnati Bell does not carry the Tilt, so they will not help me. I have searched these forums and found Cincinnati Bell's web proxy settings and tried plugging the information in, but have not had luck. What is strange is that when I click Internet Explorer, it actually shows that it connects, but no web pages will open. If I touch the E at the top of the screen, it shows a web session open with a timer counting how long I have been connected, but still no web page access. If anybody has any suggestions, I would sure appreciate it. It seems like it would be something simple as I can see the connection timer, but I am lost as to what else to try.
* I have also already posted this question in the Kaiser forum in hopes of getting an answer. I realize that double posting is frowned upon, but I am so frustrated with this that I am willing to try anything to find the answer. Thanks in advance to anyone that may be able to help.
I found these settings over at MoDaCo

Good Luck!
I flashed to jm2, and now i can't get a data connection. Wifi works, but when i turn off wifi, no internet at all..
I'm on T-Mobile in the Netherlands. Any ideas?
You need to enter the APN settings for your carrier.
Read the big FAQ thread in development section
Please put "solved" in the title of your post if that answered your question.
Ah i should have found that myself..
Thanks a lot!
pfff, how do i change the title?
Hi guys,
So I flashed, rooted and installed GreyBlur on mu Bell atrix, by following instructions from "seven2099"
It installed great and I have noticed a HUGE improvement in speed and other things.
Only problem, is now I can't connect to any bell networks for my 3G.
WiFi works fine. I am only posting in here, because I am not aloud to post in the developers section, so I am hoping this message can either find its way to "seven2099", or someone in here might know whats up.
Thanks in advance!
If you can do everything except connect to the Internet via 3G then you need to add your APN settings back in:

Don't forget to "Save" (menu button/save) after you type all that in...

Good but for one thing: Do NOT fill in APN Type. In the linked post it says 'Internet + mms'. I could not get a connection when I had that filled in, as soon as I set APN Type back to undefined it worked right away.
Just sayin'
excellent!
all worked out great!
thanks alot guys!
Bell Atrix always Roaming after 2.1.1
HI all
I spent two days trying to get to the bottom of this..
I installed 2.1.1 on Bell Atrix.. the first things I noticed the little (r) near the signal, checked the system info and it say ROAMING, my Data does not work unless I put Data Roaming on..
I am with Fido, and of course FIDO cannot tell me if really I am paying Roaming charges until the bill date which is 20 days away..
has anyone experienced that problem and has an explanation of some sort? Am I really Roaming or becuase its FR SBF the phone is reporting Roaming??
this is very disturbing and puzzeling as well.. any thoughts is really appreciated.
