Disable certification in Hermes - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Does anybody know how to completely disable certification on their Hermes so that we can run applications that are not certified?
I keep getting the dreaded "no trusted certificate error" for patched programs.
I've scoured the forums here and at buzzdev.net, and have tried "cert_disable WM5.cab" and "signcode" but nothing seems to be working for me.
Please help...

go to wiki. under tweaks you find a fit4cat hermes tweaker that solves your problem by checking the box "allow non certified applications" in the "security" tab. soft reset and here you go.

Help with trusted certificates on WM5?

Could someone please help?
I have an XDA Exec (HTC UNIVERSAL) Ive been searching for days to a solution for this without avail and you guys seem to know what your talking about! Im very new to this and need a solution to this error when i try to install some applications and run them:
" X cannot be opened. Either it is not
signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be
found "
Is there any way you can disable this in WM5? my WM5 version is OS 5.1.1700 (Build 14354.0.1.1)
Or is there any way whatsoever you can get around this? please if anyone can help do let me know and post!!
Thankyou !!
Is your phone locked ?
It may be locked or your operator prevent installing all of 3d party applications. In this case reinstalling "clean" WM5 may help (I'm not sure though) - I'm only a newbie in WM5.
Another reason that application you run trying access trusted functions - like allocation of the physical memory. In this case I'm not sure what can be done - reinstallation of WM5 will not help.
Its unlocked! so if i re-install wm5 it wont say this when i install programs? i have tried resetting the phone and installing different roms but nothing works! is there any particular rom i should be looking to install? or anything i can put in the extended rom to install after a hard reset to sort this out? PLZ HELP!
I have had that problem, too and I was going crazy. Then I tried the following tweak but I do not really know why it should work, it just did:
in HKLM\System\ObjectStore is a reg key "RegistryType=1", which means Hive based registry.
When you set it to "RegistryType=0", which means FILE based registry, all changes you do in the registry will stay there also if you reboot with device's reset button...
BUT AFTER YOU CHANGE THIS VALUE, FIRST REBOOT HAS TO BE DONE WITH SOME SOFTWARE, NOT WITH THE RESET BUTTON.
Subsequent reboots can be done with reset button then.
there is another tweak that gets rid of the warning messages, but I did not use that one
really! which software could i use to reboot the phone??
also is resco registry okay to view and change this? it says registry type 0x0 (1) i have now changed it to 0x0 (0) is this correct? i performed a soft reset but im stil getting the error message! is this because i need to use software to reboot?
yep, the first soft reboot needs to be done with software. After that you can use the usual way again.
After I had done this I removed all "problem apps" and then reinstalled them and it worked.
What software did you use or could i use to reboot my ppc chuckchuck?

Cannot install or remove programs anymore !!!

Hi all,
something strange happened to my XDA (O2 ROM v2.21.4.101):
* my "remove programs" list is now completelly empty, even if I have many programs installed and running!
* I can no longer install any new program ("exe" or "cab") - installation starts, but always ends with unsuccessful message
* active sync 4.2 no longer connects!!
Apart from this, everything seems to be in order.
Any help/hints would be mostly appreciated, trying to avoid an always painfull "hard reset"...
Thanks!
Hm, have you tried updating your ROM? That would reset your phone and update it so it should work...
But you would loose your contacts etc as you cant sync now? Hmmm

modify the registration:
HKLM\ControlPanel\AdminPassword\Group=0x1(1)
delete the key "Redirect"
Than soft restart. You'll find a "Policy" or "Stratagy" icon in the "System" page of the "Setting" window. Clear the checkbox of restriction.
Thanks for the info - unfortunatelly, I already did an hard reset to the PDA. I will keep it for future reference, though

just for the record that check box was already clear when I looked at it and it didn't do anything for me
Had to do a restore from a back up a couple weeks ago. damn it.
Mine did it after a corrupt install. SOB.
The values basically haven't changed the behavior...
Hi all,
I have copied the values exactly as they were, but still nothing happens...furthermore my ActiveSync on the MDA Vario seems not to recognise any connections, even when the phone is connected with the ActiveSync of the PC. Is there any way maybe to reinstall only the phone portion on ActiveSync in the MDA? I downloaded a file "activesync.exe" from the ftp server. is it the pocketpc portion of activesync?
Thx a lot

Remove Programs lost

I was installing on of those x button programns SBSH iLauncher and the install failed. After the failed install ActiveSync can no longer connect. When I check the remove programs setting all of my installed programs are gone. I have tried restarting both the computer and my 8125, several times, but this did not change anything. When the automatic activesync trouble shooter takes a look at the errors it points to my firewall program. I went through the settings for the McFee Firewall and everything is as specifed by the web site.
Any help would be greatly appreiciated.
Thanks,
David
Try de-activating temporarily both Windows' and McAffee's firewall and retry. Also, make sure you have the latest ActiveSync installed, v4.2.
Good idea, I should of thought of that one myself. I tried it and no differance.
I did stumble accross this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=267765&highlight=activesync+failed
and tried looking at the regestry premsions but that did not work either. Looks like the only real solution is a hard reset. I do not have a backup program, any suggestions before I go to this extream?
Thanks,

Disable certificate checking

Hi,
I got a problem with certificate checking when i want to run a program, it says that it is not trusted.
No "yes" or "no" answer, he just showing me that message.
My X1 is standard no flashing or whatever, just like a virgin
I noticed earlier that i can disable it with "Advanced Config" but that program won't run either.
Registry explorer can be (thank god) runned, so i can change the registry.
Thanks,
Wim
I think SDKcerts is what you need.
[maybe...]
Or get Schapps Autoconfig 3.3 which also has a tweak in it to disable that... (in fact I would suggest Autoconfig 3.3 to be the first piece of software in anyones phone... top tool that)...

Install Failure (any cabs) due to "not digitally signed"

Hi Guys!
I'm using SuperMario Lite ROM (June 3) in order to test some usefull sw in my Blackstone in a system clearest as possible. I had tested many apps w/o problems and others that doesn't work or crash ..with consequent HS. Btw this is the first time i have found this problem and before doing the umpteenth "ROM sand-paper" should be intersting to find some solution in the reasonable future situation in which hard reset costs much more consequences.
The problem: I've tested JZ SmarMort v1.5 which has subsequently installed MortScript v4.2. Everything went well until I have decided to uninstall them. I have unistalled (in the order) JZ SmartMort and then MortScripts, btw beeing JZ SmartMort not uninstalling normally I have used (as suggested from SmartSmort) SDK Tools to unistall it completely. Than I have done a soft reset and now..???!
Any software I try to install gives the same result: "Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate." :O
I searched here in the forum but i haven't found solution yet.. anyway these are been my unfruitful attempts:
- Install SDK Certs --> same installation unsuccessful message as for any other progs
- Install Cert_SPCS --> see above
- Install Default Signed DisabledSecurity --> see above
- Install HD Tweak --> see above
- Change/Add:
[HKLM]\Polices\Polices 000010a DWORD: 1 (decimal)
--> nothing changes
I'd like to know Your opinions and suggestions.. anyone who knows how to solve this?
Waitin' for your replay.

Hi FileFixer!
Has said in my previous post I've just tried to install SDKCerts.cab taken from here but not solved the problem. In fact, as for any cabs I try to install, I have the same results: "Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate." and then doesn't install.
Anyway THANK YOU very much for your interest and reply.
NiceOne.
