Install Failure (any cabs) due to "not digitally signed" - Touch HD General

Hi Guys!
I'm using SuperMario Lite ROM (June 3) in order to test some usefull sw in my Blackstone in a system clearest as possible. I had tested many apps w/o problems and others that doesn't work or crash ..with consequent HS. Btw this is the first time i have found this problem and before doing the umpteenth "ROM sand-paper" should be intersting to find some solution in the reasonable future situation in which hard reset costs much more consequences.
The problem: I've tested JZ SmarMort v1.5 which has subsequently installed MortScript v4.2. Everything went well until I have decided to uninstall them. I have unistalled (in the order) JZ SmartMort and then MortScripts, btw beeing JZ SmartMort not uninstalling normally I have used (as suggested from SmartSmort) SDK Tools to unistall it completely. Than I have done a soft reset and now..???!
Any software I try to install gives the same result: "Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate." :O
I searched here in the forum but i haven't found solution yet.. anyway these are been my unfruitful attempts:
- Install SDK Certs --> same installation unsuccessful message as for any other progs
- Install Cert_SPCS --> see above
- Install Default Signed DisabledSecurity --> see above
- Install HD Tweak --> see above
- Change/Add:
[HKLM]\Polices\Polices 000010a DWORD: 1 (decimal)
--> nothing changes
I'd like to know Your opinions and suggestions.. anyone who knows how to solve this?
Waitin' for your replay.

Hi FileFixer!
Has said in my previous post I've just tried to install SDKCerts.cab taken from here but not solved the problem. In fact, as for any cabs I try to install, I have the same results: "Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate." and then doesn't install.
Anyway THANK YOU very much for your interest and reply.

Error: remove programs..." x was not completely removed

I tried to install ClearVue PDF from the O2 supplied CD and it failed (with error messages in German!) - however when I tried to 'remove programs' I get the above message and ClearVue is still listed under programs. Ditto with Skype. These are the only 2 things I have added since switching my XDa mini s on for the first time. How should I uninstall these properly....so I can start again! Thanks
Well if you want to install it. Try installing it again. Then if fails again download the latest version of it from their website and install that. Hopefully you will have the registration key installed and it will work. Otherwise you will at least have an English error message.
Thanks
I'll try the web site - looks like I can't just download ClearVue - does it all come witin the 'software update' bundle?
No no no! ;-) The Clearvue website http://www.westtek.com/pocketpc/pdf/ As long as the install you have made registered it the trial version will be installed as fully operational.
Thanks
I'll have a go...
Sometimes a program wont delete because its running. make sure you have nothing running before removing it
Is this not an issue with the persistent memory in the Wizard? I've never been able to uninstall things, always comes up with that error, but installing an AKU 2.3 ROM seems to have solved the problem.
I think it's a persistent issue - I've tried every way of uninstalling (from Xda and PC via ActiceSync etc) and ClearVue is still there (and not working). However last comment slightly too techy for me (sorry - just a user....)? Is this an OS upgrade....?
The ROM is an OS upgrade, read all about it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=53954&highlight=
Whether the newer ROM solves the problem, someone better informed than me will have to tell you. It may just be coincidence that I can now uninstall programs properly??

CAB "Installation Unsuccessful"

Hi,
I've been trying to install gyrator and got this message so tested several other CABs and now seem to be getting this message on trying to install any CAB - really frustrating
Any ideas what might be causing this?
My Blackstone configuation is all pretty standard with original ROM etc
Any suggestions welcomed!
try reinstalling the cab again, it should say that it will remove previous installed version and will reinstall, BUT it wont proceed with the installation. Now after this, go back to the remove programs section and check if its still there.
Wondering if you found the issue, as i have this happening over 4 or 5 different ROM's, ruled out that its a ROM issue, trying to narrow it down to a 3rd party app, unsucessful so far.
When trying to install ANY cab i get the 'unsucessful installation' error message - including cabs i've already installed. Flash my phone this morning, install apps i wanted to, went to install something else this evening, now getting this message.
I've got Sktools installed and i am able to install cabs via this.
Got that problem too on Xperia X1, can't figure out either what the cause might be. Anyone any ideas?
Found my cause - it was installing Twikini

so you can't install apps after installing twikini?
I'm getting the "uninstall unsuccessfu" for almost anything i try to install and do have twikini installed (but i can't remember if it was the last app i've installed).
Also i can't open attachments in my emails, can't download files from PIE and when i go to remove programs (start-settings-system-remove programs) the list is empty...
DId you have to hard reset or did u find away around this?
btw, i'm having these issues on my kaiser.
Finally I found what my problem was, even if I can't understand, why this is a problem.
From time to time, e.g. when I got no USB cable around, I used to send the .cab vie E-Mail to have them on my device. Well, and as a matter of fact, exactly those are the ones, where installation fails.
Copying exactly the same file via USB to storage card ends in everything working fine....
So i flashed a new rom and installed twikini first, everything was ok for a couple of days. But all of a sudden this problem is back.
I know its not the .cab files because they're the same cabs i'm trying to install that i install on almost every rom after i flash them.
I'm thinking its yahoo go.

Help! Cannot install or uninstall a program

This is a bit OT but I'm in a real mess here and hope one of the techies can advise please.
Earlier today I tried to upgrade PocketMind's PocketMusic from 5.3.1 to the latest version 5.3.3 of on my HTC Touch Pro 2 (WM 6.1), as recommended by PocketMind. It failed to install. It got to the stage where it told me the previous version will be uninstalled and asked if I wanted to proceed. I clicked OK as usual and then got 'Installing PocketMind PocketMusic.CAB ...'. But there was no progress in the bar. It stayed empty. On re-starting the Touch Pro 2 the same cycle was repeated.
I then repeated the attempt to install 5.3.3 but this time I got the error message "Copy error ...".
When I then tried to run the old/existing version PM 5.3.1 I got an empty screen.
But now I cannot uninstall PocketMusic, either with Remove Programs on the TP2 or with Add/Remove Programs from AS on the PC.
I also downloaded the individual CAB for version 5.3.1 but that wouldn't open on my PPC.
I've also used Resco Explorer to remove \Program Files\Pocket Music but still can't install or uninstall.
So I'm well and truly stuck. I've emailed PocketMind but meanwhile can any of the experts help please? Is there some program that will safely clear out all traces of PocketMusic (whatever version or versions is currently still hanging around? Would it help to clear my PC registry of all references to PocketMind/PocketMusic/Pmusic? Any other ideas please?

I've had issues like this before. To be honest I think there is little you can do apart from a hard reset (from memory I think that's what I've had to do in the past).
Why don't you take the opportunity to put it down to a bad experience and flash a new rom & start all over from scratch.
Not very helpful, I know...but I believe it's very difficult to remove all traces of a program from the registry as there could be unidentifiable entries all over the place.

Have you tried SKTools? It has a comprehensive install/uninstall tool, even for applications not registered as installed. It gives you the names of all regkeys created and also of files installed ... it may help to clean up your system...
Hope it helps,

HELP Netcf 3.5 Installation failed

Hello,
i have a massive problem with my htc hd2. In order to use bsb tweaks 1.6 and other software i need netcf 3.5. The problem ist, that every time i try to install netcf3.5 wether via .cab or active sync using the pc programm it says "installation failed". When i install BSB Tewaks it installs and says that it can´t run with that version of netcf. Obviuously there seems to be an older version installed which hinders the new one from installing. This problem occurs even after rom update and hard reset. I ran out of idears and am totally despaired.
If someone can help me with that i´d be more than thankfull because i tryied everythin from sk tools cleaning registry after rom installation to taking out the memory card and Sim card and so on..
HELP PLEASE (

you have to use a reg editor to enable the 3.5. HKLM/Software/Microsoft/.NETCompactFramework. Change the DWORD data of entry 2.0.7045.00 from 1 to 0. Next Change the DWORD data of entry 3.5.7283.00 from 0 to 1 and then reset. This disables 2.0 and enables 3.5.
see if this helps

That is for software that was installed on the phone prior to .Net 3.5. It has nothing to do with installing 3.5.
If you can bare it, I'd suggest a hard reset and then try to install it. It should install without issue, as it has for everyone else as I've never seen this problem.
There could be a conflict with something that you've already installed on the phone, but it certainly won't be with an earlier version of .Net. You can (and indeed need to) have different versions of .Net working on the phone.
Let us know how you get on.

I performed a hardreset first via Software "1234" then via buttons (volup/down) but every time i try to install it, it says "Microsoft.NET CE 3.5CAB failed" and thats it....
What can i do ? It actually has worked at a certain point but after some hardresets it just doesnt install anymore (
Have you tried a different download? It may be that the installation you downloaded is corrupted. Also, if you're copying it to your SD card and installing from there, that could be damaged, so try it from the device.
Other than that, I really don't know what to suggest. I take it you've googled the error message you get. What did that give you?
Netcf3.5.9198
When I tried to install NETCF3.5 it told me I had a newer version already installed, so I didn't install it. Later I checked my registry and found that I have version 3.5.9198 installed. Does anyone know if BsB Tweaks will work with this version? (EDIT) Well, I tried BSB Tweaks and it seems to work ok with my version of NETCF3.5.
When I tried pinch to zoom on Opera 10, it worked, but also gave a small popup showing the image of the full screen centered on the lower center part of the screen. When ever you double tap to go back to full screen, the little popup disappears. ????

[Q] can't install cab anymore!

Hello together
I need some help!
yesterday I did a hardreset on my touch HD. After that I had first to install a security certificate from my employer. So that they let me sync it with the exchange server.
After that I wanted to reinstall all my progs (HDTweak, Fingerkeyboard, changeScreen etc.) I started with the .NET framework. This worked well over ActiveSync. After that I wanted to install sdkcerts from my SD card. But this was not successful because " a digital security certificate was missing".
What do you think is the problem? did they prohibit installing cab within my company or is there another problem?
What would be the workaround?
thanks a lot!
greets
