02 XDA EXEC ROM Troubles - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Hi, i'm new here so bear with me, my PC skills are very good but getting my head around this little thing is a whole new ball game. I bought a new 02 XDA EXEC 3 weeks ago. I used the CD it came with to upgrade the unit with the file MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe. It came up with an error (sorry cant remember which code). I tried it again which came up successful. I then went to start the unit and now i have a dark screen with USB(when connected) and Serial (not connected) at the top and v1.00 at the bottom. I have tried both soft and hard resets but to no avail. Any ideas and steps how to help with this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou.

Problem Solved, now for my next trick.
It's ok i got it thanks. heres the link below for anybody else having similar probelms. Just follow the instructions, step by step and things will be fine.

Need help to go back from WM2003 on Asian XDA for warranty

Hi,
This morning my speaker stopped working. All is well otherwise and if I plug in the handsfree I can still hear alarms, music or hold phone conversations. A hard reset did not change a thing either so I reckon I must turn up my XDA (sob sob...) for repairs. I have been running a kitchen variety WM2003 for a while now (thanks to Developers & Jeff)... I downloaded the latest O2 Asia versions from O2 website and tried to downgrae but was told that I do not have a compatible version. Can someone kindly tell me how to overcome the curse? I'd like to solve this asap so I can get the speaker fixed. I appreciate any and all help I can get. Thanks a lot.
K
Please ignore.
I sorted this out again thanks to the Kitchen! Cooked a 3.17 ROM on the kitchen and loaded on device and then the plain vanilla 3.20 ran just fine.
My device now looks kosher so wish me luck, tomorrow I shall brave the warrantee boys.! If I'm lucky this will be unreparable and they will give me a XDA II instead huh?
This is really strange. Perhaps this post is not appropriate for this forum anymore and should goto General section. I now realize that my speaker is fine. When I receive a call it rings fine.
I just can't hear the other side speaking and the other side can't hear me either. When I plug in the handsfree all goes back to normal and I can hear and speak through the handsfree. This looks like a hardware anomaly to me sincve it started all of a sudden in WM2003 and is still there even after the downgrade to the 3.20 ROM...
Has anyone seen anything like this? I really dread the idea of going to the repair shop and ghaving to live without the XDA for a few days... Thanks a lot for any ideas you may have and apologies for crowding this forum with so many messages.
K.
Hi Guys,
I need your help .
I've downloaded the 4.00.16 ROM by mistake, it really didn't tell the ROM number, so now I want to revert to a earlier one and I can't.
I've got the following message: "ERROR: GetDeviceData - An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine.
error getting devicedata" and then "ERROR 011: EXECUTE REMOTE COMMUNICATION PROGRAM ERROR. Cannot execute the remote communication program. Please make sure that the USB/Serial cable is properly connected."
PLEASE HELP ME, I'M REALLY STUCK NOW AND DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO...

TomTom Navigator 7 - Bluetooth Has Been Disabled Error

Hello Everyone,
I have recently become a member of your excellent forum after browsing and learning for many months as a guest.
I have a small question to ask, I have tried looking everywhere else in the relevant locations to see if it has been raised, but with no success.
It's simply this - I have a Polaris running TTN7, properly installed, running very well indeed.
But, if I try to use any of the TomTom services on the menu - i.e Weather, TomTom Buddies, Safety Cameras etc... I get the message in the top right hand corner that says 'BlueTooth has been disabled'
I have tried every tweak, reboot and re-install that I can manage, but it's still there.
I know all the TomTom services do work on it, as when I first installed TTN7 to the device, the BlueTooth was set to ON and everything worked fine.
The problem only occurred when I launched TTN whilst the BlueTooth was set to OFF.
Any help would be very gratefully received,
With Thanks,
Simon Logan
Problem Resolved. Solution posted to assist others.
I have solved this particular problem.
If you have difficulty updating your maps via the MapShare update service, you might be tempted to update another TomTom unit with exactly the same version Map (e.g GO910 or GO 510) and then copy across to your PDA's map the following 4 relevant files;
MapServerPatch.dat
MapUserPatch.dat
ServerLineIndex.dat
ServerNameIndex.dat
If you do this it will generate the error originally described.
So, always best to update your map by getting MapShare working correctly on your Polaris instead of copying what seem to be identical files across.
Hope that this assists someone out there.

TomTom lost by mistake

hello all.
1st time visit..so please be kind..
im in a right mess.....please please help me out if you can.
i have just bought my HTC touch diamond off ebay... all good ..i love it..i used it last night and all was good..i used tomtom for getting to work in my car...all good except it seemed to take a very very long time to find satelite etc etc and work out routes...(maybe 5 mins before i could set off).
Anyway..before this new phone/pda. i was using an old SPV M2000 pocket PC and i had on my memory card a version of TomTom 6 with all the points of interest and cameras etc etc..that worked great with my external blue tooth reciever..
So i thought i would copy my points of interest folder over onto my new HTC .. i managed to completely ruin the version already installed by overwriting maps etc etc and now it wont work at all and tells me to download maps from tomtom..at no-doubt loads of money data connection on the phone..
So then i decided to erase the version on the phone and all other folders i had over-written previously... and then maybe install the version from my old pocket pc.
Now im in a complete state of confusion after reading these posts..
does anyone have the correct advice for me to go forward from here..?
all i want is Tomtom working with speed cameras etc etc.
sorry to start with such a big post.
all the best
vince
