How to get sound from BT ear piece other than phone? - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

I can pair and use my BT earpiece easily for the phone and to give commands. How can I hear an Audible book or Music from Windows media via my earpiece? I have the upgraded Rom on my Qtek 9000.
Thanks for any help.

This is a simple way to do so. Just change the registry value below.
HKLM/Software/OEM/voicecommand
Set the value of "launchapenable" from 1 to 0.
Once this is set, the default voice dial will not work anymore. Instead, when you press the button on your BT headset, it will re-direct all audio to the BT headset. Press it one more time, it will re-direct the audio back to the PPC speaker.
This works will all application including music, VoIP application (like SJPhone, Skype).

Wow...that works well. Thanks much.

I find that with my BT EARPIECE i can listen to music and watch movies with the sound coming out of th eearpiece and not the speakers. I have to press the button on the earpiece once, which makes the voice command start. I just close that and then the sound is now coming through the earpiece. No reg hack needed, plus i get to keep the voice command software usable for when needed!
Regards,
Colin.

Doesn't the sound cut off after the voice commander program exits? I know mine does.

Hi,
Use the regisry hack and Vijay555 Volubilis with its AGON (audio gateway ON) or BTaudio (little app found on this forum or google. I can hear TomTom indications, music and every sound on my Uni with theses stuffs...

Nope, not on mine anyhow. Once the voice command program exits, it leaves the sound on the BT headset. No hack needed here and i get to keep the voice command too. Works a charm!

could i know what ROM you are using and which BT headset as well?

I would also recommend Vijay555's Volubilis (search for it). A simple cab install and you can have all audio directed to BT headset by running the program. No hacks or anything needed

This is working on Lt.Cmdr.Ivan's AKU 3.2 BETA 8 ROM, found on these forums. The BT headset is just a generic unbranded one i got off eBay. Sorry i can't tell you much more.

Skype (or musik) through bluetooth - it works

go to hklm\software\oem\voicecommand and set the value of "launchapenable" from 1 to 0
when activating voicedial from your headset (press connect button at the headset 2 sec.) it diverts all audio to the bluetooth.
works also with musik.
pressing the button again it disconnects the bluetooth and the main speakers are active again.
in this case the original voice dial does not work anymore until you change the value back to 1.
for me a good solution because i don't use voice dial and prefer insted skype and headset.
Very good tip...will try that!
Cheers...!
Works on QTEK S100 with Jabra Bt 250 Headsets?
Do you happen to know if the BT specification of the EXEC allows it to transmit stereo audio? Say from a mediaplayer to a BT car kit?
If so, that would send me over the edge and Id have to buy a BT carkit!
...ohh, on 2nd thoughts, it would also depend on the bandwidth too. Anyone know what sort of frequency range BT stereo may be limited to?
for stereo output is another reg.hack needed i think. because pushing the voicedial button at the handset it activates the bluetooth headset profile for listening to the voice but voicedial doesnt start. so you can use it for normal micro and loudspeaker.
maybe anybody knows how to activate in this case the "high quality audio profile" by editing the registry instead of "headset profile"?
Great job, The sound (in music) is good ? i tested this but the sound wasnt good.... I think my headset isnt good for music.
yes it depends on the bluetooth profile. for good quality "high quality audio" (A2DP) profile is needed.

would this work on a blueangel running WM5?

No it does not work in QTEK s100....
Works -but not great
very tinny muffled sound on my moto HT 820, was hoping it would work as well as the bluetooth stack update for the magician.
Sound does come out in both ears on my stereo phones. but I dont desire to listern to the tinny sound.
Still great find and discovery. Just hope someone can progress it to A2DP asap.
sorry, but can anybody tell me how to edit the registry in WM5? I never did it before. What tool do you guys use? Is it something free?
Thanks.
I used PHMREGedit
Here's the link:
http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/phmregistryeditor.shtml
andyes....it's free.
Tried it with my BT200
I know the registry works....but cannot get it to play on the headset.
It works...becos upon pressing the phone button on the head set for 2 sec, the audio comes from the handset. On redoing it again, the audio goes off from the handset.
Mine is working fine. I really like the way its now.
Thanks a lot.
Ooops....
my Bt200 wasn't working. That's why there was no audio coming from it.
Need to figure out why there is no audio coming from the headset.
Sigh another problem!
So basically, the registry works.
Im using Total Voice COmmander and it works with WMP.. No need to install another software to play music thru BT.
I just press my Jabra headset twice and it goes "Say Command".. then I say "Play a music"..
Sometimes it's stubborn and Calls someone or Says "Today you have no Appointment" but I guess with a lot of practice, my Dopod understood what Im saying and played me a song.. Now, Im having trouble with my Dopod catching the title of the song i want it to play. I've placed voice tags on the songs and 50% of the time, my dopod got it right.. got to work on the other 50% though..

no, the built-in speaker that you use to listen to a call. by the way, since you are asking about using a headset, might as well tell me if it is possible TQ.
Any sounds from the rear speaker will go through the wired headset when it's plugged in.

Earpiece to use with Skype
Hello
I got a Xperia1 and always tried to find a way to use the earpiece with VoiP software (including Skype).
One way is Nimbuzz but today I found by conicidence the following:
I installed the Adoresoftphone.com software on my WM device. When you run this software once, the "click" from the screen taps disappeared.
When I ran Skype, I got the call right on the earpiece.
If you go back and launch the Adoresoftware (which you installed previously), click on "use speaker" the screen taps click returns and the Skype calls are transmitted via the internal loudspeaker.
This could be a way to use the earpiece of your device. Should work on all WM devices.

Hands Free, Bluetooth, Microsoft voice Command & Helmi's AKU 3.5 Rom

Ever since i have upgraded to Helmi's Rom and press the headset button i get the beep in my ear as normal, at this point i used to say "call and a name and work Etc.." and the call would be placed. But now since the ROM Upgrade i press the button i hear the beep in my ear then the sound dissapears from my ear and the phone beep to prompt me to say something, please can anyone advise me on what to do.
I used to be able to say "Play music" and i would hear the response in my headset and then the music would play through the headset, but it doesn't now it play through the phone speaker.
I am using MS VC 1.6
Also i would like the ringtone to sound on the Blutooth headset (Motorola H605) instead of the normal headset tone i know the headset supports the handsfree profile and it is set to Hands Free in the bluetooth settings, in fact this is the only choice i get.
Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry mate, I was in a rush earlier.
Settings>Voice command>notifications then select the option:
"Speak notifications if bluetooth hands free is available"
You could use the first option:
"Speak notifications using bluetooth hands free only."
Sadly my hands free is a Motorola H300 only, and yes, it plays the ringtone in my ear and tells me who is calling if they are in my contacts list )

Redirecting TRINITY sound to handsfree

After reading very long threads about this issue, many changes in the registry and some full pda restores, I haven´t found the way to redirect all the sounds to the handsfree in my TRINITY.
Has anyone managed to make BTAudio or any other program work with a Trinity?
I think that as long as the handsfree headset you use supports the A2DP profile then all audio is redirected to it without the need for any registry hack. At least that's my experience with my SonyEricsson stereo BT headset.
2 Types of Redirect
One is with A2DP where the bt device is compliance to it. I do not have one but I believe it will work fine.
Another way which I am using is via the Handsfree Voice Command channel. When a voice command software(Such as Cyberon Voice Speed Dial) is installed and when the recognition is triggered(usually by a button on headset), all audio is redirected to the the headset.
So the trick is to keep this redirection longer.
This is can achieved by changing two registry settings.
- Change the duration to something longer, like FFFF.
- Invalidate the voice command software execution.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand]
"VoiceCmdDuration"=dword:FFFF
"Path"="\WINDOWS\invalid_sddialer.exe"
With that, I have lost Voice command via my headset but I hardly do VC at all, and if needed, I had associated one of the button on my dopod to launch VC but I need to speak into the phone instead.
Not sure if this is the best way but it's the only way I know of untill I figure out other.
FYI, I'm currently using Dopod D810 with lvsw ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299771) and a Motorolla H700.

Hello,
I agree with this.
I had not been able to get the Trinity to redirect audio to a sony HBH-IV835 heandfree device.
Since I've change for a Sony DR-BT20NX headset with AD2P profile it's working like a charm. No more registry hack or software needed.
Then registry hack only concern improvement of audio quality (bitpool and so on).
Sadly i'm not able to use real stereo (replace the use of joint stereo) because it's generationg a slight annoying hiss sound.
Is this still the status, also with WM6?
I can't believe it's not possible to redirect some kind of way like I've been reading in the Tornado treads.
Yeah, I'm also can't redirect all sound to my headset (Plantronics Pulsar P590) by one click or by launch some program. Every time I need launch BT Settings, open Devices tab, tap'n hold on "590Plantronics", and select "Set as hands-free" or "Set as Wireless audio".
Can't find other ways to do it - no registry hacks, no other...
Does this help maybe?

I did not test it yet...
No, it doesn;t work too... All discussed programs (BTARouter, BTAudioNav, BTAudioToggle) are just redirect phone calls to the my headset. No audio output at all (headset icon doesn't appear).
Just found this:

I just tried it. Didn't work. I could hear it activating the speaker on the headset as I launched the app (soft hiss) but it didn't re-direct any audio. Voice calls only through the headset (which is the same as without the app installed). I guess it really only works for smartphones.
The registry hack worked for me but I need voice command so it's not really a permanent fix for me.
I'd be quite happy to buy a new headset too but I don't want something bulky or with wires everywhere like all the stereo ones on the market. The single ear clip on ones are just so quick and easy to use...

The one thath works on p3600 is?
I've tried a lot of but no one works.
I dont't need voice dial so it can be good.
I use my p3600 with a BT Helmet.. so I'd like to listen to tom tom inside..
thanks a lot.
Hi
I have the p3600 and a sony mex-bt 2500 and i can redirect all audio to the carcit but i have to connect with the audio (A2DP)conection and not the headset conection so you'r divice has to have the A2DP profile to work.

is there still no solution for the Trinity?
I am actually experiencing the skipping problem, but I would be half-glad if I could redirect audio in mono to the headset.
Please advise!

Get headset that supports A2DP profile and it works fine. I have Plantronics Voyager 855 stereo, and it works flawlessly in mono or stereo mode with modifying any registry hacks. Music sounds awesome too with this headset, just like my bose earbud phones.

What are you guys using for phone calls: the included wired earbud, bluetooth headset or just the speakerphone?
Do most bluetooth headsets out there work with the included bluetooth stack?
Thanks!
Bluetooth all the way!
I am using the Plantronics Voyager 510 headset works the best for me great battery life, volume etc.
Bluetooth 99% of the time, rarely use the speakerphone. (Which does, however, work well.)
I use the BlueAnt V12, which has a vibrate feature... which is userful since the phone doesn't have one built-in. It also has an LCD, which I find useful. Displays status, phone numbers, but no names. But I seem to know most numbers, and if I don't that's also informative.
BlueAnt V12 has also a great price, around $50.
Jawbone Bluetooth works great.
I have no problems with the Jabra BT800, which also has vibrate, lcd and 6 individual ringtone settings plus the one from the Ameo. Works flawlessly.

So if my BT headset goes dead, the x7500 will continue fine as a phone? Will the speakerphone be automatically activated whenever I initiate/receive a call?

Thanks for the warning. I am just about to try 1.6 on my Jawbone.
Found this comment here - http://www.wmexperts.com/reviews/bluetooth_headsets/review_aliph_jawbone_bluetooth.html
Try creating the registry key:
HKLM\software\microsoft\voice command\speech\BluetoothPTTDelay
value = dword: 2000
Stop and start Voice Command.
I have found that this makes Voice Command 1.6 work great with the Jawbone even in the noisiest enviornments. This will open up the audio channel for 2 seconds before starting a voice command interaction as opposed to the 400ms that is the default. I think possibly the Jawbone is adapting to the ambient noise during this time. This seems to make a big difference though.
Let me know if this helps as my Jawbone will be arriving shortly.
Anyone used a stereo headset and liked it? I wouldn't mind having one that would go one ear for calls and a simple way to use both for listening to music/movies.

Why do you need to go through all athat gymnastics? I just installed voice command and it worked with Jawbone without any issues. I can't complain about battery life because I use my jawbone and Athena as regular phone, even in my open office. Maybe total 2 hours +- 30 minutes. Don't need 6 hours talk time yet I have never run out of battery yet. I charge both devices every night.
