no, the built-in speaker that you use to listen to a call. by the way, since you are asking about using a headset, might as well tell me if it is possible TQ.

Any sounds from the rear speaker will go through the wired headset when it's plugged in.

Thanks, but what I really want is to use skype like normal talking to the phone without headset or speaker phone, possible to do that? Is there a registry hack to tell skype to use the earpiece instead of the loud speaker?

Earpiece to use with Skype
Hello
I got a Xperia1 and always tried to find a way to use the earpiece with VoiP software (including Skype).
One way is Nimbuzz but today I found by conicidence the following:
I installed the Adoresoftphone.com software on my WM device. When you run this software once, the "click" from the screen taps disappeared.
When I ran Skype, I got the call right on the earpiece.
If you go back and launch the Adoresoftware (which you installed previously), click on "use speaker" the screen taps click returns and the Skype calls are transmitted via the internal loudspeaker.
This could be a way to use the earpiece of your device. Should work on all WM devices.
If you are interested, try it

bluetooth, parts, manual and mic volume

I have a couple questions about my KJam
1) Does anyone know where (even in the registry) to adjust the mic sensativity? I am not talking about AGC. I use a voip program and the mic is too sensative and cause echos for the other party.
2) Anyone know how to use a bluetooth headset to work independant of teh phone and voice dialing? I would like to use it with my voip software but when it connects it only activates the voice command program then disconnectes if not used for that. I would like a way to just transfer the ear speaker and mic to the headset until switched off. My heaset is paired with the KJam in handsfree mode.
3) Anyone know where I can get the part to replace my keypad? I have the arabic/english keys and would like only the english version. I already changed the software and not just want the keypad membrane itself that I could change.
4) Anyone know where to find a disasembly guide/manual for the KJam?
Thanks, John
PS: the voip program works great!
www.skynetworks.gotdns.com
What VOIP are you using?
I am using the SJLabs softphone with Vonage. Bye the way, it works great if I use an external earpiece headset like the one that came with the KJam. The built in mic is just too sensative and picks up the sounds from the built in earpiece. Although it doesnt do this when using the phone in normal calls.
The fact that the mic isn't too sensitive when using the normal phone indicates that it's more of a problem with the softfone sotware. Perhaps it's setting the mic gain too high.
Have you tried another softfone? Other than that, if you try a different headset and mic but then you may find the mic not sensitive enough for normal phone use.
I would try another softfone first.
Yep, I have tried different softphones. Still the same. It seems that the mic volume is different when using the normal phone function than it is when using programs. The softphone doesn't have a mic sensativity adjustment and states to adjust the mic in the control panel of windows ce. But 2005 doesnt have an adjustment. It just has the auto gain control on and off mode.
Well I went ahead and purchased the softphone from www.xten.com and it works great. I also have ineen installed and working.
Anyone have any suggestions on my other questions?

ringtone on bluetooth headset?

I searched for a half-hour on this site and another but couldn't find an answer. Could someone please help?
I'm using MS Voice Command, PhotoContacts Pro and Cardo Scala 500. When the very 1st incoming call comes in after my phone turns on I hear the ringtone via the headset for a few seconds. Then, as soon as Voice Command sounds the alert tone (4 or 5 short tones) the ringtone goes to my phone. All incoming calls after that ring via the phone only while VC sounds the alert.
Question: is there a way to have the ringtone comes through the headset?
BTW, my Scala 500 works perfectly with VC on my MDA otherwise.
Thanks
please help
I tried different settings in VC and PC Pro but nothing is working. Is anyone out there able to have the ringtone go to headset?
Thanks in advance

working
I found out the Twilight Zone sound when the phone rings is from the Scala 500 itself--pretty neat. Anyway, I realized that I can click once on the bluetooth headset to initiate VC. Afterwards, I simply do NOT click again to close the audio gateway to allow all sounds from the phone (ringtones, announcements, etc.) to come thru the headset.
If I do this, however, I'll need to click the headset twice (first to close the audio gateway) to initiate VC--not a big deal to me. Hope that helps.

How to get sound from BT ear piece other than phone?

I can pair and use my BT earpiece easily for the phone and to give commands. How can I hear an Audible book or Music from Windows media via my earpiece? I have the upgraded Rom on my Qtek 9000.
Thanks for any help.
This is a simple way to do so. Just change the registry value below.
HKLM/Software/OEM/voicecommand
Set the value of "launchapenable" from 1 to 0.
Once this is set, the default voice dial will not work anymore. Instead, when you press the button on your BT headset, it will re-direct all audio to the BT headset. Press it one more time, it will re-direct the audio back to the PPC speaker.
This works will all application including music, VoIP application (like SJPhone, Skype).
Wow...that works well. Thanks much.
I find that with my BT EARPIECE i can listen to music and watch movies with the sound coming out of th eearpiece and not the speakers. I have to press the button on the earpiece once, which makes the voice command start. I just close that and then the sound is now coming through the earpiece. No reg hack needed, plus i get to keep the voice command software usable for when needed!
Regards,
Colin.

Nope, not on mine anyhow. Once the voice command program exits, it leaves the sound on the BT headset. No hack needed here and i get to keep the voice command too. Works a charm!

could i know what ROM you are using and which BT headset as well?
I would also recommend Vijay555's Volubilis (search for it). A simple cab install and you can have all audio directed to BT headset by running the program. No hacks or anything needed

This is working on Lt.Cmdr.Ivan's AKU 3.2 BETA 8 ROM, found on these forums. The BT headset is just a generic unbranded one i got off eBay. Sorry i can't tell you much more.

so, if you dont use your bluetooth headet, you canot use your wing as a normal phone, meaning you dont hear a thing from the internal speaker? if you are sure that your BT headset is not connected, than probably a hardware problem.
wolferl
Yea, what he said. There are a couple of other threads on this topic, seems to be a common problem. There is a company out of Texas that will fix this for about $65 called Dr. Cell Phone, or you can call HTC and they will do it for about 90.
Or you could just remove the Wax outta your ears.

It appears that the phone's volume is set at minimum. You can only increase it while you are in an active phone call. The easiest way to do this is to dial you voicemail then adjust the volume control on the side of the handset.
This should do it.
p.s. after this adjustment you may need to turn down your bluetooth.

Getting calls while using GPS

BT headset works diff.
It´s great with a BT headset. I use my phone as GPS and it uses the speaker automaticly. When i get a call i just put myt headset on and take the call like allways.. The GPS software mutes the speaker while youre speaking and then aktivates again when your hanging up...
No problem..

Thanks. I figured this out: bluetooth headset works differently from bluetooth headphones. Headphones replace the speaker, so IGO talks through them. But headset does not - just what I need. Thanks a lot
