Any radio fieldtest program available for atom? - iPAQ rw6828, XDA Atom General

I found that there are some fieldtest, cell track, nicetrack application or edit registry which is showing some radio parameter (cell id, LAC, signal strength)... etc for dopod engine, I tried the above but it doesn't work on atom. Is there any other application on fieldtest which is available for atom?

Hooking a BT headset callerID

Hi ya all,
I am currently using a BT headset with CallerID (Jabra 800).
Since my contact DB is not in english lamguage, the headset which apprently does not contain hebrew font can show only the phon num of the caller.
I am seeking a way to hook/replace the w2003se handling.
I have thorughly serached the online help/internet for the details from where to start and it seems that it is related (ofcourse) to the "Audio Gateway Service" in a library called "Phone-Extension Component".
This library exports a function called "BthAGGetNameByPhoneNumber" and is in a dll file (Btagsvc.dll I think) which is oofcourse burnt in the ROM.
I am searching for a way to hook/replace this function in the DLL somehow.
I have done hooking in the past for windows message handler routines but to my understanding, this is not the case.
So here it is, how do hook or replace that dll code, (maybe in respect to Service.exe only)?
I do belive that any work here will be helpfull around the globe so I will happyly share everything when done.
Also if anyone has more information and/or corrections to the above - don't be shy
Keep up the good work poeple,
Micha
there is no function BthAGGetNameByPhoneNumber in any of the DLLs in Imate PDA2K 1.40 ROM
Guess you are right, I also did not see the Btagsvc.dll file.
I see now that the documentation I found is for WCE5.0, so it's pretty much irrelevent for WM2003SE
Any suggestions on how to proceed here from the big guns? :?
Hi michar,
i have the BT800 and PDA2K.
The contacts are in english but i still get on the Jabra the phone number displayed.
Do you think its possible to display the name of the contact ?
Cheers
Chris
Well, if I will find the function resposeable for querying the number->name, maybe I could also help you with it.
As of now, for lack of time I am stuck
I will update if the status will change.

Turn On GPS Application Reg Hack Help

Hi all
I have used Mehayuk's brill guide to setting up the wizard http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=53784&highlight=mda+vario
and have completed the following reg tweak
Turn On GPS Application (GPS not GPRS ie Navigation Stuff)
First of all, your MDA does NOT have GPS built-in; let's make that clear from the start.
However, Windows Mobile 5.0 includes a GPS Control Panel for ease of configuring Bluetooth GPS devices. This includes creating 'virtual ports' so that multiple programs can access the same NEMA GPS stream from said BT/GPS device. This is helpful for anyone who uses GPS for Navigation, War-Driving and lots of new emerging location-based programs which use GPS information available to your MDA.
Unfortunately, the Registry Wizard for tweaking the MDA available in this FAQ and over at xda-developers does not work with the T-Mobile ROMs. You have to manually edit the registry by following these instructions:
Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MASCHINE\ControlPanel\GPS Settings
Delete the DWORD marked "hide"
Add a DWORD called "Group" and give it the value of "2"
The GPS panel will now show up in your connection settings
But i cant find the GPS panel anywhere can anyone help me out there.
:twisted:
Also I have used Resco explorer to find the folder on my network containing my music files, so i can stream them to my wizard and play them using TCMP player, i can see the files in the folder but how do i get TCMP to play them,
Instructions for a idiot who is a bit slow please :shock: :shock:
My wizard details are
ROM 2.21.2.6 WWE
ROM Date 3/906
Radio Version 02.19.11
ExtROM 2.21.2.109
Many registry hacks require a soft reset... Just turn your device off and then back on.
I think the above reg hack is pre-aku2
The correct one is Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MASCHINE\ControlPanel\GPS Settings DWORD "hide" change value from 1 to 0
and it will appear under settings\system not settings\connections
btw works on mine but i have no gps device - so fat lot of good it does me except the pleasure of a hack
There's also the redirect key which must be deleted.
Done the GPS Hack
Any help with TCMP Settings
I don't know about RescoExplorer, I use GSFinder which can also access network shares. So, when I want to listen to music files from my PC with TCMP I just launch TCMP -> File -> Open File and I just Open the Network Folder and select the song(s) I want to listen to. No special settings!
hmm, thats an interesting thing but....
my bluetooth gps works fine with multiple programs anyway, can use tomtom and wififofum both at once without enabling this gps hack. Maybe that why its hidden by default?

CellProfiler + WM6

Hi guys, i'm trying this program (VERY VERY useful!!)
On my Tytn LVSW WM6 works without the option "Communicate over GSM-Modem"
It shows a "COM2 opening error" when try to learn the cell with the function enabled.
I'm asking you if there are convenients reasons to try to communicate with the gsm modem (ie: save battery, or better/comprensible cell codes).
The program say that if i change "detection method", i have to rebuild the cell id database (so i hope there are different codes.)
Ps: which com is assigned to GSM modem on a tytn with WM6 ?
I HIGHLY recommend trying out phonealarm (the paid version) as this does the job WAAAAAAAAAAAAY better. Cell profiler has jack all support when compared to phonealarm.
Ive used it since i bought my TyTN (I used to have Magic Profiles Pro on my SE P900....a lifesaver) and it is just AWESOME.
i know that palarm goes well, but there are A LOT of options & settings that i don't need, also it needs + resources...
try Comm Mgr Pro

CellID & Rxlev & GPS

The program updated. free to use ...
Hi all, I write a simple program for Telecom. Engineeger:
1) It can show CellID, Rxlev & LAC
2) base on the database (txt file), show cell site info.
3) GPS function
4) Open log file to record
The Log file format in :
Latidute,Longitude,CurrentTime,CellID,Rxlev
And you need to copy the files 2G.txt,3G.txt & site.txt to the root directory.
the text file at the main program directory ( eg. program file\fieldtestv1.2\).
Note:
Only test at my HTC P3600i phone, not sure for others ...
And sorry for my poor english ..
New Version ,It's surprised,But My PPC(model:O2 atom Life) Cell Id is Error。
Picture :
I have this error on my "Tornado" smartphone (WM 6.1).Why ?
By default, the program will read the files "2G.txt", "3G.txt", "site.txt" & "SiteNo.txt" when startup. so if you missing one of file , it will show the error message. you should create the 4 txt file to the root directory.
If you are a telecom engineer, you may entry the field data to each txt file or just create a empty file, it should be work !!!
that's a brilliant program.
btw what's the file format for the SiteNo.txt and is there a way to change the frequency of the log file to every minute or 30 seconds.
It would be great if you could do the site info match using the cellid ( CI ) and LAC. due to certain telco would recycle the cellid due to the 65536 limit.
Few more suggestion for the Log file.
1. Log file can be saved to storage card
2. BCCH info from the cells not from the txt file included in the log file
3. Logging frequency i.e 10 secs , 30 secs , 1 minute
4. LAC included in the log file
It is actually 8 to 10 db more when compared with an actual test tools.
bravo it's a good program.
Almost works, it crashes when i hit start or update, on my 8525 with ATT Wm6, files attached.
How do you read CELL ID ?
It is in the registry? where ?
could you show some code how to get cellid? which serial port to be opened?
On My HTC9000 PPC, I couldn't open COM2, No Com ports could be send AT
Cmd successfully
Some source code here ...
public static CELLINFO GetCellTowerInfo()
{
IntPtr res = IntPtr.Zero;
res = RIL_GetCellTowerInfo(hRil);
if ((System.Int32)res > 0)
{
rilCmd.CmdId = (System.Int32)res;
rilCmd.CmdType = RIL_CMD_TYPE.CELLTOWERINFO;
......................
.......................
if (!RIL.isInitialized)
RIL.Initialize();
RIL.CELLINFO CID = RIL.GetCellTowerInfo();
I have just started using this program as I am a telecommunications engineer.
I have emailed Frank for assistance and he has been most helpful.
The TXT files must be placed in the / directory - ie the "My Device" directory.
I have also noticed that if I use 2G or 3G mode on my phone, the program only looks in the 2G.txt file.
Try on my Hermes, on 3G band it shows only Cell ID, other failed, on 2G it shows MCC-MNC, Cell ID and LAC, but not signal level neither SC? Just reporting
Unsure why this is not receiving signal level, but the program does not yet have the functionality to extract BCCH/PSC.
All this program tries to match is the CellID - you need to have the BCCH/PSC in 2G.txt or 3G.txt
I am currently speaking with the developer to see if he wants some assistance to work on this program (i can test) - I am using a Touch Diamond
Thanks!
Dear Frank8080,
Thank you for your cellid sample program. I download and try it. This program run into my cht9100 very fine. I need one program to get cellid on wm6. Can you email your source code to me ? Thank you very much!
Does it work on wm2003 for my 818?
It does NOT work on O2 Atom, windows mobile 6 ...
hmmm... It crashed in my atom wm5.0.
Thanks for the bug reporting:
1) For the program can't read 2G or 3G txt, due to the program read the txt file base on the MNC(Network Code), so it seens that I need to add a setup page to fix the problem.
2) For can't decode the signal level (erwinpiero), I have tested on Dopod 838 Pro, it works ok. But I don't know why it's not work on your 838Pro.
3)For BCCH/PSC decoding, I still try ....
I am a mobile engineer in HongKong and the program just developed for my team use to perform the field measurement of the daily operation, so the most of function just base on the needs of my job. So if any other information you need, you may email to me, I will try to add the extra function to the program.
Hi frank, Top program, well done!! it's running on my TyTN II fine.
Could you post up some examples of how the 4 txt files should be built and a "few" examples of the info they should contain.
Also I see you're using RIL ... does your program update the CellID etc whilst the phone is "In Call". I have used CellTrack before and once "in call" the phone never updates apart from the RX level.
Thanks!!
Phil
Hi,
I haven't tried this sw, but I will do it soon (as soon as I have a PDA).
Just wondering if is possible to select what variables should be on the log (e.g.: active set, the cells that are being measured)...
thanks

Is there any field test app on artemis (like hermes's field test)

i know hermes has field test app that allow you to read rx level quality, ARFCN, etc.
something close to net monitor on nokia
but it seem to work only on hermes
how about artemis? i tried hermes app on my artemis but all parameter is N/A
