Finaly My Wallaby GSM can't used (can't pass 1% flash RSU), but PDA function still normal, just one problem, how can i charge my battery?
i try to charge the battery on back cover whole (for external baterry), and guest..my battery can use for 24 hours using PDA function...now everyday i charge my wallaby on back cover whole, for 3 hours..and ia can use PDA function.
still try to upgrade RSU, but no luck...can pass 1% error.
anybody know how to flash GSM hardware for wallaby (i read about JTAG, but it's to much risk, open the processor...), any other way?
here is my wallaby pict
No solution?
Hi, we are in the same boat, I too have a Wallaby similar to yours. What's different though is that I am able to reflash my RSU (successfully got past 1% fail a number of times). What's weird though is after a successful RSU reflash, still the GSM part is dead. I too charged the battery through the back cover.
Have you tried reflashing RSU with substantial amount of power in your battery? Also, plug directly to AC supply. With this, I am able to reflash my RSU. What I haven't tried yet is to use a good battery (in case my or your battery is dead already). Maybe you could try this too. I think that the battery of the Wallaby has an internal charging circuit. Of course you would need to successfully get past the 1% error for your Wallaby to charge.
Also, have you checked the fuse inside? A busted fuse will not allow your Wallaby to charge. There is a post here concerning this. There is also a post where you remove the battery and plug your Wallaby directly to AC supply (to bypass battery checking) then reflash your RSU. Worked for some.
I was able to recover from this GSM error a few months back, but this time I'm stuck. Probably a hardware problem already after trying all alternatives. I got myself a Himalaya instead. Anyways, wish you luck on your Wallaby.
thanks for the repply morph751..
i allready checked the fuse..but the fuse still good..
allso as u said :

Hi all
I need help. I just upgraded the rom of my XDA using the XDA-Developers SER 1.2 ROM 2 days ago. I fully charged the battery before I upgraded the rom and upgraded it successfully. But after I upgraded, when I charge, the battery I seems to charge “forever”. The light indicator would not turn to green which indicates that the battery is fully charged. I did hard reset twice already (after the upgrade). What do you think is the problem? Thanks
Need help pls
since the delveloper rom is kinda old most people cook their rom based on much newer roms in the kitchen's
why did you pick the developer rom ?
Thanks for the reply. I chose the Developer's ROM beacuse the time that I want to upgrade, almost all the rom kitchen sites are unstable and always offline. And most of them do not cook the rom properly , will just give me 300KB rom instead of a 15MB. Will there be a problem if I upgrade the ROM again, I want to upgrade to WM2003. Can you suggest a site where I can just download the ROM, or a more stable kitchen?
I'm also hesitant on upgrade becuase I only upgrade via exe file and usb brando cable, coz I dont have an SD Card and card reader. Pls give me a url for a stable WM2003 rom for my XDA1. Thanks.
pjfuerte - I have been recently having the same problem, but I am on a newer WM 2003 ROM.
What I am actually finding is that if I charge the phone using the cradle, it charges fine and without problems. If I charge with just the power cable and accessory plug (22-pin to DC Jack Converter - see second item in http://www.myqtek.com/Accessories.aspx) the orange light never disappears and I actually have a problem using my phone as if the battery hasn't charged successfully.
I think this is actually due to over use of this plug - I don't think the pins are lined up properly anymore and I can see some damage has occured over time.
Does this relate to you? Try charging the phone using the alternative method to the one you are using now. Cheers, Doms.
Domino,
Did u upgrade via EXE file? Can you give me the rom exe file for the upgrade, that least I know that file is correct and stable.
Before I upgraded to the current ROM that I'm using, (I upgraded because I want to unlock the device) I've been charging with a replacement charger. But it charges fine, and the orange light will turn green if charge is complete.
I also sync via Brando USB replacement cradle. And upgraded the rom via the said usb cradle. After upgrade, the orang light woudnt turn to green and wouldnt specify that charge is complete. I don't have the original accessories the unit was just given to me.
Do you think it is becuase of my charger?
i was installing new rom on my device.when it was 12%, the computer got locked and i had to reset. Now,my baby did not reflash again.i tried again but himaupragadeutility gave : communication problem. what can i do now? can anyone help me? so a few people know this device, the others even do not know what pda is. what i can do?????????????????????????????
Try putting your device into bootloader mode and making sure your XDA is plugged into the mains as well. There's also an upgrade program which bypasses country id checks.
Good luck.
I got the same problem with my Qtek 2020i today!!!!!
The device is dead and i can't put it into bootloader mode!
I need your help please
Try taking the battery out for about 1 hour. This will run the backup battery down therefore wiping the ram. Put the battery back in, connect it to the mains and put it into bootloader by pressing power, action and reset for about 3-5 seconds until serial appears on screen. No backlight so look carefully.
I tried to remove the battrey for 1 hour but it's still the same!
any way thanks for trying to help pug.
I have a new Prophet (JAMin) and it does not start, even when charged. All that happens is the lights at the top flash, the screen blinks and then no more.
Any ideas, as I need the device later!!!
Does it show any serial number on the bottom of the screen or does it just show a blank screen.
What you could do is remove the battery, SD card out and leave the device like that for about an hour or so. After an hour just insert the battery (not the SD card) and then try charging again. Let it charge for about half n hour and then try switching on the device. Most likely, your device will now wake up, if it doesn't then you will probably need to wait till the amber light turns green indicating a full charge. Try switching on the device again, if still no luck, then you will need to take it down to a service centre.
It works when using power adapter, but not on usb
The prophet does start up when using the power adapter, but not when on the USB. Have left it 'charging', but the charge light is not on.
USB only provides a trickle charge and hence is not the best solution for "waking up" a device. Always make sure that you charge your device through the provided AC adapter. Only in cases of emergency or when synchronisation allow USB charging.
No charge light
No charge light is on. Is that right?
If there is no charge light, that means its not charging to begin with. Can you check if the USB port you are charging from is functional by attaching another device to it. Incase the USB port is fine, try charging from a different USB port; if it still behaves the same way, i suggest you take it down to a service centre. Its quite possible that the charging port on the Prophet is damaged.

Mine used to be like that after I installed spb plus previous version, it wont start at all...I had to switch to a new machine (for free) coz it was only day-2 after i bought the device (nice service btw).
Cheers!
I Have an SPV M600 which when switched on the screen blinks and then powers off, no charging light will only power up with the charger plugged in not with the usb data cable, i used a file called hard_SPL-G4 since then this error occured i think its the software program loader.
I cant reflash via active sync because the device powers off without the AC charger. i do have SD cards, but im unsure how to flash from SD i want my original spl version back and a better OS.
IPL 2.21.0001
SPL 2.21.01ip
GSM 02.69.21
OS 7.7.7.7
I can get to the tricolour screen bootloader with charger plugged please help any advice?
these are the original settings i think
IPL 2.10.0001
SPL 2.10.0001
GSM 02.07.20
OS 2.10.1.22
Once it is in bootloader, can you switch it to the USB cable?
Q: Once it is in bootloader, can you switch it to the USB cable?
A: no it switches the power off when i unplug AC but i can get to the windows OS if i power on with AC..? but flash via activesync no AC on reset.
I do have two SPV M600s im not touching the working one. but would like to fix the other one. SD Flash would help possible corrupt OS or SPL i think?
i can gain access to bootloader but i dont know how to initialize the NBH rom,
i could start the extrom cabs which had an autorun with a list of execution
i updated the rom Mysterious_1.0 all went ok i think
then i ran hard_SPL-G4 i had a lot of errors about sleep4.exe not win32 i think.
i am running x64 pro and upon reset all i had was an occasional screen blink and weak flashing orange and blue led.
ive tried different battery and a different USB to miniUSB. the active sync does take long time looking for changes on OS.
from usb i hold camera button and click reset switch it goes to USB bootloader for a second then off
if theres anyone out there who knows how to reflash the SPL version and a new OS for an SPV M600 english lang from an SD card please link files and explain the process in as much detail please? thankyou!
i did also update the radio version GSM could that be a cause!
The radio version should have nothing to do with it...
I am fairly sure there is something on the wiki about flashing from a storage card, but you need to make the dump of the ROM from the working device, so not much help there...
If you can get into bootloader whilst it is plugged into your computer, it's a very easy problem to fix...
I have decided to find the pinouts for a 4.5V charger (it should be 5V but im not destroying original) and a spare USB-miniUSB attach the power terminals from the charger replacing the miniUSB charge terminals, which should allow me to go to bootloader with USB present. i will post my results in here soon
about accessing bootloader
Hi i have just executed the jump spl files on my problem device and its taken me to a white screen with usb data cable, which i heard is the bootloader really and used tera term pro to dump rom etc. its seems to of hanged at the minute does it take a while to write?
im guessing i could go into the white screen mode and reflash an original orange rom?
New Original OS installed
Hi ive successfully installed a new OS so i presume the white screen is a bootloader. still my problem of powering off upon boot exists, so using this method i want to change the details below
OLD SETTINGS
IPL 2.21.0001
SPL 2.21.01ip
GSM 02.69.21
OS 7.7.7.7
NEW SETTINGS
IPL 2.10.0001 check
SPL 2.21.01ip SPL 2.10.0001 wanted
GSM 02.69.21 GSM 02.07.20 wanted
OS 2.10.1.22 check
Can i reinstall the wanted SPL/GSM from the white screen loader? does anyone know where i can get the files. SPV M600
Repaired 100%
I did it, its fixed charges now from USB data cable. and can enter tricolour bootloader. the problem was something wrong with the spl flash process ive redone that no errors excellent. im happy now
Will a ROM flash now?
Need help!
I have been messing with this phone for afew days now can't seem to get it to work. When I power the phone on all I see on the screen is green screen that says "IU BUILD! Test Only" this ws the result of a hard reset. The device is sim unlocked but I don't believe it's super cid unlocked. I'm unable to do anything except for hard resets and bootloader screen. I was going to try to reflash the original rom but can't seem to find any, I only have access to the sp3 roms which I can't use since it's not super cid unlocked. Any help would be great!!!
iMate OEM ROM
http://rapidshare.com/files/61129896/SP3_WWE_2.4.33.11.zip
Here is a link to an iMate OEM ROM. Start in bootloader and execute this to see if you can recover your device. You haven't shared much about what you phone is or how it ended up like it is. You are correct that it needs an OEM ROM, then application unlocked then Super CID unlocker before flashing a custom ROM. Good Luck and report back you results.
The phone is a Krome IQ700. In bootloader mode it shows IPL 0.27 SPL 1.01.0109 Typhoon UI. Another problem is active sync does NOT see the phone. When attempting to load any rom I get error 264. I think I might have to load rom with SD the only proble is I've never had to do this before so any help would be great. I could honestly live w/o the phone but I think this would be a great learning expirence. Thanks in advance.

Remove the battery and memory card, wait 30 minutes then re-insert the battery. Hold in the camera button and then plug in the USB. If it is still alive, it will open in bootloader (Red, Green, Blue) mode.
still dead... what do you think happened?

I had this once when my oem battery died. I was able to jumpstart it and get it to recharge using a 9v battery to kick it up from nearly 0V.
If you have a battery meter, you can test the contacts, looking for 4v across the battery terminals (remove battery from phon to test). If you get < 2v then you battery does not have enouge juice to power up.
Once you get power back, do you have the ROM from your OEM? You should be searching for it in the mean time. If I find anything on it, I will let you know as well.
Everything I see on your phone specs appears that it should respond and behave like all of the other Typhoons/Sp3's. As long as you followed the unlocking steps from Karhoe's post (second sticky on typhoon main page), your device should not be a brick. If you recover power, you may want to first flash an WM5 ROM from one of the posts then try to flash WM6 as this is the prescribed method starting from WM2003.
Could anyone can help me to solve No GSM poblem. I think there are many other users have same problem.
After it faild during update rom, My HP6915 represent NO GSM during booting and the phone funcation also doesn't work. But in HP Asset you can see it, just no firmware, no version number. I try to flash english radio rom and french radio rom, but always stop at 1%. This matter appeared after I flashed orange rom(french version). I think it locked by Orange.
Does any one can help us?

I tried but still same, stop at 1% when I flash Radio WAN OS, stop at 2% when I flash Radio FS. I tried to unlock simlock and CID unlock, but it doesn't work on my 6965
called a few places looks like the radio chip is fried. sorry man...not looking good.
try update again with this method
I got almost same problem. I tried to update GSM rom but update fail and my ipaq stuck at hp invent logo. try following steps to see if it works for you
Solution:
this is what I did to get this fixed.
1) Get the battery out of the iPaq, and wait for a few minutes while the "serial" image fades away slowly.
2) In the meantime, prepare your cradle, plugged into the AC charger and plugged via USB to your PC.
3) After a few minutes, with the screen of the iPaq completely gray, put the battery and battery cap back on (with our without SIM card), and put it on the cradle immediately.
4) The iPaq should start coming back to life, as if it were being hard reset. Let is stay on the welcome screen (i.e., do not tap it or anything).
5) Restart the upgrade process, it should proceed from there OK
Thank you to origianl solution provider
