Wired headset microphone problem - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

For some reason connecting any wired headset, even the original one does not enable the microphone on the headset. The mic on the phone is still active, so I put the phone in my pocket and no one can hear me..Can't seem to find any posts or info on the topic. Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks

Im a bit late but I have a similar problem: Wehn I pick up the phone by pressing the button on the headset the micro is not on. However when I dis- and reconnect the headset it suddenly does work. I use Farias final crossbow rom. What can be done to fix this problem?

Receiving a call when unit is cradled

Both my colleague and I use XDA2s and we work in the same office. Today, both of us have had incoming calls, while the unit is in its cradle. I took mine out of the cradle, checked who was calling and hit the green button. The call was answered (according to the display) but I could hear nothing. My colleague had exactly the same happen to him, from a different caller. Has anyone else had this, or is there a technique to answering a call when the XDA is in its cradle?
Hello,
I have had no problem answering calls from within the cradle -
I did exactly as you said - picked up the device from the cradle, but I pressed the "answer" button on the screen, all works fine for me.
Cheers
I have answered lots of times the same way with no problems, I've even put the unit on speakerphone... Very handy when cradled...
Did you use a headset before?
The following happend for me once:
I use the headset for listening music. Phone is ringing. I unplug the headset, because I have a poor quality Hama one, and in a loudy bus, the internal speaker of the PDA is better.
But I hear nothing. The only way to take a phone call, with the headset.
I think the PDA's headset connector switch was wrong. After I plug and unplug the headset many times, my wallaby worked. (The PDA felt the headset plugged, so switch off the speaker but the headset wasn't pluged. Soft reset did not help)
This is my story

There is a setting, to automatically switch on speakerphone when PDA in the cardle?
Thanks!
Thanks, everyone, for the feedback. Neither of us had used headphones, but we both have BT headsets, which we had used that morning - one's a Jabra BT200 and the other is a Bluetrek G2. I don't know whether that is relevant or not.
If anyone out there uses a BT headset and can tell me how they select a number from contacts and ring it so that the headset works - I'd like to know! Mine only seems to work if initiate the call from the headset.
(off topic, sorry) is there any way of getting the phone to answer calls/dial calls in hands free mode? or creating a profile that does so (ie when i am in car and xda is in a (non handsfree) cradle.

I do not know if this feature is availble. I did a little search on my imate but did not find such a feature! but will be nice to have it!
The only option available is to asnwer received calls after certain rings!
it would be worth cheching how old the rom version is on your xda2 as there is an issue with the very early versions of the rom (1.03.00) for example. In this version nither the cell line or the gprs cant be connected while the XDA2 is in its cradle. current version should be 1.60.00.
hope this helps

wizard no sound

Hi guys,
can somebody please help me with the following problem?
Out of nothing my T-Mobile MDA Vario stopped giving sound with out the headset connected. without any reason and the out of nothing it stops giving sound without the headset connected. this all happends after i installed tornado (a2dp) to get sound to my bluetooth headset. anyone knows whats gone wrong, i search the forums here but couldnt get no clear answers
I had a similar problem. No sound from the speakers at all, but through the headset it was fine. As if the speaker itself was dead. But it wasn't caused by any Bluetooth fault.
Effectively, the phone hadn't realised that the headset had been unplugged. To solve it I was told to rapidly pummel the headset jack with the headset plug. Somehow, after some time, the phone is jogged back into a working state.
then whats the point havina bluetooth headset if u have to carry ur handsfree to get ur fone ringing again normally aint there any better solutions to this

Bluetooth Radio turning off by itself

I have the mono audio set just the way I like it using my default 8525 and your fix plus BTAudio.
However, I still have the problem where my BT simply turns off or drops the link to my heaset. Never during a call or while listening to a podcast, but I'll go to use the headset and it searches. Check the BT Radio and it's off. Sometimes it'll turn back on, other times I have to soft reset.
Did you ever experience this problem? Have you managed to resolve it and how did you resolve it? Is the Widcomm the way to go - all I care about is making/receiving calls from my headset and mono audio. Internet sharing would be rare, haven't done it yet, just use my USB cable for the modem dialer.
As soon as XDA-Live is a little more mature I'll be switching to that, but I'm also contemplating upgrading the radio to 1.34...

I have the same problems. If you find a solution post it here.

Help! Phone calls with BT and headset outlet used at the same time

I turn my BT on and connect Mogul to MP3 outlet using the standard splitter (miniUSB/2.5 mm) to listen some music in my car. When I receive a phone call it first comes through my BT for 2 sec and then switches to the car speakers (another words - headset outlet). The same happens if I try to make a call. My only solution for now is to unplug a splitter and then answer a phone call.
It doesn’t seem to be a BT set specific because I’ve tried a few already.
I have 6.1 stock ROM and looking for help to resolve this issue.
I was very surprized to find out that HTC Touch doesn't have this issue and perfectly handles the situation.
Could this bring some ideas to developers?

Weird issue with MW600 headset and x10

Whenever i use the MW600 to anwer calls , ppl complain that when they say something they can hear themselves echoing what they said. Anyone with this headset has the same issue or know how to fix it?
Turn the volume down on it then.. Pretty simple fix.
thanx for the suggestion, but turning down volume when using it in car doesn't work, it seems that when you use headset the phones mic doesn't turn off so it picks up the car speakers and that's why people hear themselves echoing
The MW600 isn't made for Car Use... So the issue can be normal!
I've noticed that my MW600 doesn't always sync to Phone and Media audio, sometimes just to Media - which will probably mean that the Mic on the phone is still open, hence the problem you describe.
I've worked out that the way to avoid this is to connect to the phone the following way:
1) Enable Bluetooth on phone
2) Turn on MW600
3) Check in BT setting that both Phone and Media audio are connected and that the headphone symbol is displayed.
I find that if I turn on the MW then activate BT on the phone, they just don't connect properly...
I use mine in the car on a regular basis and find it superb, and have had no complaints
thanx for this tip I'm going to try it, I hope it fixes the echoing
