Can anyone tell me how to get my JASJAR to come out of hibernation whan I apply power via the USB port? It comes out of hibernation OK if I connect it to a PC via USB for ActiveSync. I would like it to come out of hibernation when connected to a power source via USB without ActiveSync. Can do?
It'd be easy enough to write an app that installs a notifcation for the power on event. Then plug in usb will cause the app to power on the phone. That's similar to how activesync works. Try playing with your notification queue using MemMaid etc.

It is probably quite easy for some, but I am not one of them unfortunately. I was hoping sombody has already jumped that hurdle. Perhaps it is time to learn about the vagaries of WM5 ...

hi, am sorry if this has been posted but i cant seem to find the solution of my problem.
am using cingular 8125 and upgraded it to WM6.1 and activesync 4.5.
now the problem is, i can not find a disconnect button or how do i disconnect my phone from my PC.
Sry,cudn't get what you are trying to ask ? wud you elaborate a little more.
well,if you simply want to disconnect your phone, then just 'unplug' your phone from the usb cable or if you want to delete partnership with the phone, you can do it in the 'File' option of the AS.
Cheers!
can i just unplugged it directly without disconnecting it? i mean just like the usb flash drive before you can unplugged it you have to do a safely remove hardware operation first. and also like the xda II mini there's an option or a button when you want to disconnect it or stop the sync from the pc.
i hope, i explained it correctly.

Yes there is no real danger when "hot unplugging" your phone. It's more stable than most flash drives or external HDDs. As an option, you could always shut down your computer first.
thank you very much
Sorry for the ultra bump, I didn't want to start a new thread, but this doesn't help me. Whenever I hot unplug my phone, all the USBs stop responding and I can't plug anything back in, without rebooting first. I'm using a Diamond, but this shouldn't be a problem, since it's AS that messes up.
Hi Guys, hopefully someone can help me here it is driving me crazy - well, here is my issue.
Doesnt matter what PC I plug my HD into it doesnt get picked up, i looked in device manager and still nothing. Its like its not connected, but it shows on the phone that it is charging. And does charge.
Can someone please help?
Thanks!
Settings - Connection - USB to PC - uncheck 'enable advanced network functionality'
All that was there is ' Enable faster data synchronization '
No advanced network functionality. Im on Telstra NextG Network Australia with there crappy stock rom if that helps.
I'm looking at a stock Touch HD and you're right- they changed the name of the box. So uncheck 'enable faster data synchronization'.
I did but it is still not working.
I have also done a hard reset and restore to manufacturers default and still not working.
What kind of PC are you using? Is it XP? If so you need to download ActiveSync.
Using XP.. I have downloaded and installed Activesync. It used to be picked up on every pc and suddenly now it doesnt.
Opened Activesync ports in your firewall settings?
Yeah its all fine, its as though the PC doesnt even recognise it. Doesnt show up in Disk Management.
hi lucky
you're already the 3rd one with this problem.
if you plug-in the usb connector, is there a dialog popping up on your hd which let's you choose between synch or hd mode?
if not, welcome to the group of disapointed htc owners.
there is already a thread somewhere about this problem. i have exactly the same, but no one could help me until now.
at least i found a way to flash a rom. the usb connection was working for about 20 minutes. afterwards it broke down again...
try the following:
1. shut down hd
2. remove SD and Sim Card
3. plug in the usb cable
4. do a hard reset by holding vol up and vol down while you press the power button
5. confirm the hardware reset
6. when the hd is booting up again, it will do some kind of customization process. during this process active sync should come up on your pc. cancel the device setup in acive sync and wait until your hd is completely configured.
7. afterwards reconnect the usb cable and active sync should work for a while...
let me know if it helped. i'm still searching for a permanent solution for this problem...
Nope, didnt work at all.
Not even the choice to decide what I want to do pops up on the phone.
Do you think it could be a hardware fault?
I think it is a hardware fault because i did a SPL boot and instead of 'USB' showing in the white box "Serial" did.
It just seems wierd because it was working fine for 2 weeks and then it all the sudden stopped and I did no ROM flashing or anything.
Should I try reflashing my device through the SD card and see how I go from there?
did you try a different cable???
I have about 20 different USB -> mini USB and only about 2/3 of them work with phones !!!
Yeah ive tried all different cables, ive tried ones that work with my diamond but still dosent work with my hd.

Are you getting anything popping up in device manager when you plug it in, in other words does the list refresh like it has detected a new hardware device or is it completely silent? I have seen it a couple of times where a device gets stuck as being recognized as something else. If the list does scroll (responds to the HD being plugged in) do a screen shot of everything in DM then plug the HD in and compare the lists to see if it is showing up as something else. If so, delete the device then unplug and plug in the HD again and have it reinstall the driver.
Good luck,
Gordo
I did what you said Gordo, and it doesnt show up inDevice Manager. Its as though its not even plugged in but for some reason it still recharges off the USB.
I guess about the only other thing I can think of is to plug it in on another PC and see if that computer tries to load a driver. If it does then it is something strange with your computer. If it doesn't then there is something bad with the USB port on the HD (maybe).
Gordo
Yeah I tried that but still nothing, im sending it back to Telstra, since its within 14 days of me getting it I get a whole brand new one!
thanks for your help guys
Hey guys,
I've rooted my KF and got everything running. Haven't plugged it into the computer for about a week and now that I do, the KF does not show up and does not even make the dung dung sound when you connect up a device.
What can I do to fix this problem?
I have restarted both the KF and the computer without luck

Have you loaded the device drivers (that come with the ADB method)?

I assume so ... I believe that was required in order to root the KF? Any link on how to do it again in case something broke?

There's a few ways to get to promised land, and not all require the files associated with this process. Worth a shot:
http://goo.gl/05PH4
Also, I assume the device is able to charge using the provided charger? Just checking the actual usb port...
Ya, the cable seems to charge but when plugging into the computer, there is no detection of a new usb device ...
Went through the video step by step. It's actually the same video I used to root. Get all the way till you plug in and have the device detect ... nothing. No where to go from there ...
Any suggestions?
Just connected the KF to a laptop and nothing shows up in the device manager either. No detection at all. WTF ...
Just tried a 3rd computer and no joy. Any thoughts?
This happened to me a couple of times where the Fire wasn't detected by the computer as a USB device and Kindle didn't pop up the mass storage message. After a hard reset it worked fine again. Hold down power for 20 sec and then hit power again to turn on.
Did a hard reset and still no luck ...
Just tried another cable ... it's not the cable ....
Can anyone offer any insight?
Have you tried a factory reset back to stock? Something somewhere is messed up, and it would end up being needle in haystack time trying to work out what the problem is. It shouldn't take too long to put things back to how they were post reset. If if doesn't work when stock, then you have potential hardware issues.
It's possible that one of the data pins is having issues on the Micro USB connector, especially if it still charges.
Looks like the USB port is hooped. It just stopped charging ....

I've had a lot of tablets doings stuff like this, my company uses them as "thin clients" so we mod them heavily. Try this:
1, Do a battery pull
2. Power on the phone, keep holding the power button
3. Listen closely to any kind of pop / click (caused by phone being switched off, this creates a power spike sometimes leaking onto speaker)
4. Connect to pc via usb
5. See if there's ANY activity on usb (in windows via device management)
6. Try to get into fastboot / restore RUU
Because of a modified kernel or rom the display driver might have gone pear shaped, this makes devices appear bricked.
Hope this helps, good luck

The only way to get a USB modem to work on Joying PX-5 seems to be to unplug and re-plug it into USB port after power-on. The modem simply doesn't connect otherwise. But it connects 100% of the time when unplugged and re-plugged. And after the car is restarted, we do the same dance again.
So... is there a way to automate this with something like Taker? I.e. turn the USB off and turn it back on? Joying is not rooted and I'd like to keep it that way if possible?
Perhaps there's another solution? I've seen USB cable with a physical on/off switch. I could use that, but it's not the most convenient way as Id like to keep the USB modem hidden out of the way.
Any hep, ideas?
Dig into developer settings. There may be some options

Can't find anything in developer settings. Tasker doesn't seem to allow anything similar. I'm almost thinking of creating some sort of a hardware timing latch and do a reset on USB line about 30 seconds passed boot-up.
Has anybody seen any solution for this at all? I mean, there's got to be a way to simulate unplugging and re-plugging the USB device, no? Please help!

Nope. There ae some USB short cables with a switch out there, but the car this was intended for is currently parked in... Bucha, Ukraine, so I wouldn't see it any time soon...
