JasJar wired headset button - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Hello there (first post! )
I am having a little bit of a hard time with my JasJar wired headset. How can I make the button of the headset actually work? I've been messing around with it the whole day, and all that I can do with it is to put a call on hold (and bring it back).
Is there any way I can configured the wired headset button to do something else? For example, I have my record button (the one with the little talkbaloon) configured for voice dialing (and now with Microsoft Voice Commander). I would like to be able to use the button on the wired headset with Voice Commander.
Any thoughts?
Many thanks,
Pedro

Voice recognition with Qtek 2020: possible or not ???

Can anyone tell me the truth ??? Is it possible or not ?
My previous GSM was a Motorola Timeport. When I had to telephone someone, I just spoke the name of that person, and my Motorola dialled the correct number.
For example I said "Parents", and the phone number of my parents was automatically dialled.
Can I do such thing with my BT headset Sony/ericsson HBH-35 and my Qtek 2020 ???
Some people say it is totaly impossibble ???
I cann´t tell you, if that would work, but i know, that you can use voice dial via some extra software. It works well.
What i don´t know, if you can use your BT for Voice recognition....
Stefan
Aha, thanks Stefan. ( we have almost the same flag - lol ! )
So voice-recognition would work, but only with the microphone of the Qtek itself, pobably not with bluetooth....
So I guess I have to use speed dial in the car...
yes, it´s possible with microsoft voice comand, try it¡¡ it´s very easy to install and very funny.

I assume you mean that voice-dialing is possible, NOT voice-dialing through a BT headset. Right?
From all of the information I have gathered, voice-dialing through a BT headset is just not possible at this time. If you have gotten it to work, I'll bet there are thousands who would like to know how you did it!
yeah i believe that there is some bluetooth profile required
there are some threads about it somewhere in hacking it forum

I have searched and can find nothing that indicates that voice-dialing through BT works yet. There is a great deal of discussion, but no solution (that I can find). I believe that a BT HandsFree profile is required, but not included with the Himalaya BT implementation.
We can certainly hope that one is included in WM2003 SE, should that actually make it to this platform.
some people were talking about if it was possible to use the ipaq bluetooth stack on a xda2 if that works
I'm using Voice Dial sinse 3 month and it works grate. Even in the car I can ask any contact of my data base ( +/-1000) name of contact + mobile or at home etc... The program ask you for confirmation by reading once more the contact name and asks if this is correct.
If you say "yes" it compose the request phone number.
I'm using HBH 65 BT headset for phone and the intergreted micro from Qtek for voice recognition.
Try it for free at : http://www.fonix.com/page.cfm?name=product_fonix_voicedial&ID=14
I have the french version
So Kiyeko -
Are you saying that you can press the button on your BT headset, say a name from your contacts list into the microphone on the headset and the i-mate/XDA II/MDA II/QTEK 2020 will dial the number? If so, I would be interested to know what software recognizes the headset button-press as the initiator of the voice-dialing software.
I have tried Pocket BT Tools with Fonix Voice Dial and was never able to get it to recognize the headset button press as the initiator of the program. Oh, by the way - I tried it with the MS program as well.
Returning to the initial question posted by mvb95.
Yes, with your hardware (Qtek 2020 and HBH35) is possible to use voice recognition to put the calls.
You must install Vito Voice Dialer PE v3.0. Eventually assign a hardware button to the voice dialer. Record all the tag voices you want.
With both devices paired and turned on (HBH35 blinking green), press the hardware button assigned to Vito and say the tag (e.g.: “John”) to the headset. You don’t need to use the Qtek speaker, don’t need to press the HBH35 button, nor confirm the recognition with “yes”, like in the Fonix.
Is simple and ease.

Are you SURE it is using the headset microphone to input the name? I have downloaded and installed the program, then set a hardware button and recorded some voice tags.
When I press the hardware button, it does not activate my HBH-30 to input the tag, it records it with the device's microphone.
Are you using Pocket BlueTooth tools?
Hi Brian:
I use it always in my car.
My hardware: Qtek 2020 (Rom: 1.72.00WWE, Radio version: 1.14.00) and headset SE HBH-35.
I have tried several times covering the microphone hole with my finger and, by other side, speak to the headset 2 or 3 meters away from the Qtek.
With Vito you don’t need to say “Call John” but only “John”.
I don’t use the Pocket Bluetooth Tools because the latest Rom has the Bluetooth headset profile improved and this software doesn’t work with my car kit handsfree Nokia.
I can’t put my hands on fire, but the only thing I’m sure is that I can talk normally with the Vito Voice Dialer and the headset in my car.

echo with bluetooth headset

Hi,
anybody experiencing echo on the receiver side when using bluetooth headset? my friends keep complaining of echo that is as loud as my voice.
I had to turn the headset volume down to minimize the echo but there still is echo.
I've tested with two bluetooth headset and both having the same problem. First was with Bluetake BT400 G3... and the second as Motorola HS850.
I'm currently using
XDA II Mini

Radio Version : 1.11
Protocol Version : 1337.42
ExtRom Version : 1.11.129 WWE
Hi,
I haven't got the answer yet, but I get exactly the same problems with my Bluetooth car kit (Siemens HKW600), I have tried all sorts of fixes, bluetooth tools, latest BT patches and nothing fixes it apart from turning the volume down as you have done.
I will keep looking into this, but it appears to be a problem that is widespread with pocketPC's and bluetooth carkits but yours is the first time I've heard of the problem with a headset.

Hi,
At least your BT headset is working. I have just bought the Motorola HS850 and I cannot get it to work with my iMate.
It pairs ok but when I try to dial a number the connection drops out.
If you have a solution for this problem it would make me extremely happy.

did you install the bluetooth patch from the Ext Rom 1.11? i've installed it.
I use a Jabra BT250V and i get that too..i will try to bring the volume down....however i cannot get the headset to redial last call by pressing the function button
I have the same problem with SE HBH-35 on my imate JAM.
Any idea to solve the problem?
I had this exact same problem, drove me up the wall. I tested god knows how many bluetooth headsets with my imate jam.
My advice. find a Sony Ericsson HBH-662 headset give it a test, see if there is an echo, there shouldn't be one, maybe a very faint one.
http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=118678&partner=register
I tested, nokia, motorola, g2, headsets all with the echo problem. This headset however almost never has it, when it does it is very very faint and the receiver isn't fussed.
Good luck with it.
PS. Test it a few times on many calls, I have had the occasional call with it where the echo returned, also put the volume down to minimise the echo.

bluetrek s2 troubles (bluetooth stack)

Hey guys,
I just upgraded to radio stack 1.21. I still have bluetooth problems.
I've been reading up on this forums, and it seems that people all over are complaining about the bluetooth stack.
Basically, i can only get the 'connectected headset' icon, if i pair the headset again (removing it from the devices list).
It seems rediculous that it won't reconnect as soon as I turn on my bluetrek!
Is there someone with some experience that knows the proper procedure to connect easily??
Many thanks!
funny but I seem to have a similar problem only I am using Rom Version 1.01.00 wwe - radio version 1.00.10
Pairing my BT headset works perfect, the BT headset works great, all is fine until at some point - usually after a soft reset - the BT icon disappears and does not come back even if I click on the connect button on my BT headset.
The only way to bring my BT headset to life with the MDA is to delete the headset from the BT menu and rediscover it and repair it...
This of course is extremely annoying.
Anyone? any solution?

SPV-M1000 problems with carkit Parrot CK3000 & Bluetooth

The firsttime that I linked the Parrot CK3000 to my M1000 everything was working ok.
But after some phonecalls and and putting the SPV in and out of my Carcomm Car Cradle the bluetooth was "OFF" and there was no red stripe across the BT icon!?
So I switched it on again but the next day....again....BT "OFF"!?!?
After that I swithed it on again I saw that I can't accept "incoming" phonecalls with the Parrot CK3000(buttonpad) but when I call somebody myself the Parrot is working oke!?
What I also saw was that he don't give a pair tone on the moment
that I turn my contact key on.....which he did in the beginning!
Hopefully somebody else has the same experience or solution.

which parrot model? I am looking for a bt install kit to go with my vario 2. Tried a motorola HT850, worked ok for about a 1hr test except the voice dial button did not activate the voice recognition on the vario 2. This works ok with my Jabra BT200 earpiece, when its not flat !! Hence why I want an installed unit!

I recently purchased the Parrot CK3200 from Amazon to go with my Vario II. It took about 10 minutes to install but that would depend upon the connections on the back of your car stereo. It mutes the stereo and uses the car speakers. It seems to work very well but I don't use the voice dialling so can't comment on that bit.
The only issue I occasionally have is if I leave the Vario BT on when I shut it down, it doesn't always pair when I turn it back on. It then needs me to turn BT off and on again in the comms manager in order to work. Its easy enough to tell when this has happened as I don't get the blue flashing light on the Vario.
any chance of you testing the voice dial (and voice control of opening applications etc if you knew you could do that!) through the parrot system?
Is the ck3200 the "advanced" one with the lcd display? What's your rom version etc....
Cheers in advance.
It is the one with the colour LCD display, I'll test the voice dial later on my drive home. I had no idea you could open application with voice commands, I guess perhaps I should read the instructions (only do this when all else fails).
My Vario II is running
ROM vs 1.21.110.3
Radio vs 1.05.05.00
The parrot is using version 2.03d
Update:- I tried the voice dialling earlier and can report the following.
Pressing the voice dial button on the Parrot triggered the Hermes to wait for a voice tag but using the Hermes microphone. As I drive quite a noisy van this was not successful. After setting up voice recognition on the Parrot and recording new voice tags the Parrot worked reliably but only using the voice tags saved on it not the Hermes.
To use the voice tags saved on the Hermes I now have to press the voice dial button on it rather than the Parrot. Not ideal as this does not automatically mute the stereo.
To conclude, the two pair reliably and if you don't mind recording new voice tags for the Parrot then voice dialling works very well. I also really like the way I can beam photos to the Parrot so that when friends call I get their picture on the screen.
same problem

Bluetooth cutting out on me too
Never had a problem running my Nuvi 660 and Tytn with original ROM. Low and behold, I upgraded to 1.35 with 1.18 radio, and it started cutting out on me. It is driving me up a wall. I am now sorry I upgraded the ROM. I was debating reinstalling 1.04 bootloader and installing 1.21 radio (which I had installed with original Tytn Rom and no bluetooth problem) with 1.35 ROM. Any thoughts here would be appreciated.
I solved the BT problem with my Orange SPV M3100 by setting it to never switch off the display automatically (only switching off the backlight after 20 seconds or so). I also use an in-car charger to power the TyTN. The car is an A6 with RNS-E (BT enabled) and TyTN works fine and never loses the BT connection as long as the display is active.
This is a mid-term solution though and I'm still eagerly waiting for a ROM update that will solve the problem for good.
Funky
Here's a fix I used on my old wizard http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=273990 This will keep bluetooth active when in standby,
Props to Funky B for the fix
