After every soft reset, my pop3 email account disapear.
Could anybody help me ?
You probably have this problem along with a "no gsm" appearing on the screen after a soft reset (where the rom version should be), no IMEI number on your phone details (somewhere in settings I believe) and your WAP/GPRS settings gone.

Now, I think I've found a way to overcome the "no gsm"/vanishing IMEI/vanishing WAP/GPRS user-pass/etc problem, so you won't need to enter your email accounts again...ever...
After I uninstalled some programs and soft reseted it gave me a "no gsm" again... I hard resetted using the stulys as fast as I saw the "no gsm" during the boot, and kept resetting until it booted normally. When I went to check my network connections, usernames and passwords were still there... plus on sync it did not ask me again for my exchange password...
Again: always soft reset using software buttons (like SPB pocket plus) and any time you soft reset be ready to reset again if a "no gsm" appears where your ROM version should
I can't explain it but I believe it has to do with not letting WM5 boot up in "no gsm" mode

the new qtek/imate rom with AKU2 seems to solve the problem

With all this talk about WM5 devices not really resetting everything after a hard reset, and my device being dead and not recovering after a hard reset makes me think, there must be an alternate way to really hard reset a device back to factory condition.
I tried a lot of combinations of presses to no end. The only thing I am suspicious about but did not play with is a red/white round sticker (which looks like it is hiding a button) under the battery (upper left corner).
Anyone know what that is, or is there a way to do a harder reset? Taking the battery out for a few days did not help either.
Because flash memory actually needs erasing rather than just resetting I doubt it is possible to clear it with a simple button press. It may be you can do a normal hard reset and hold down a button to bypass loading data from the flash then format it. But I've no idea really.

Re-flash the ROM?
uuummm some where in this forum i read that if you have wm2005 and go to boot loader mode you get an option over there to clear the cache or memory something like that, and that would give you a clean installation.....
haven't tried it though.....and i doubt i would get such an option in wm2003se, also i have a similar problem i did a complete flash reinstallation of rom to my device and after the installation i opened windows media player (wasnt the first thing i opened, but didnt copy any files)and guess what....i had a song available over there..... which i could actually play and it did....i checked the location of the file and it was somewhere in my device or documents dont quite remember i did a hard reset again and same issue....
after that i have'nt tried anything the rom is same i just deleted the folder manually but i would also like to know how to TOTALLLLLLY ERASE ALL DATA from the device and clean install everything
regards
on the XDA II and WM5 you hold down the buttons to resent stage then i gives you three options. One of these I am sure clears the phone
I hard reset my Universal several times (well I think I did at least)
Press the soft reset plus the two "-" buttons and you will have a white screen asking if you want to put back your HTC back factory default
Unfortunately that standard hard reset, doesn't do it. I am still stuck at reboot, and the radio rom version shows the attempted upgrade version (01) that started the problem in the first place.
i tried some of them according to herein, but some of them were not function.

there's a little icon called "clear storage" which brings your settings to the factory's default. what's wrong with it?
i'm stuck too in bootloader with my mda pro

This may be too late, but there's no way to do any sort of a reset to revert back to a previous ROM... the only thing you can do is reflash the earlier ROM.

ok ... now the final BIG request ... who can give us an update that works. the patched Maupgradeut_noid is not working with the latest upgrade.
thanks.
To revert back to clean copy of OS (i.e newly installed OS)
Hi,
Just to share with you my experience in reverting my phone to its original OS condition. Before that, just to give you guys some background.
1. Upgraded from PPC2003 to WM5
2. Tried install some patch to enable file transfer (OBEX) in BT
3. Suddenly, the phone screen gone missing. Phone shows No Signal. Cannot receive call.
3a. Did a OS reflash again, but still does not solve the problem.
4. **Panic for a moment **
5. Looked thro Program Files, and seems like some appln i installed were not erased despite doing a hard reset. So, i guess the hard reset doesnt erase some portion of the memory
6. Googled for a solution, but most said do hard reset
7. Went back xda-developers.com site to look for solution
8. Finally found a method. see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1164331 to do a format on the memory
Now, my phone is working fine. The phone screen is back and it shows my telco name, and can receive call
Hope this helps.
Rgds,
Choon
you're in the wrong forum mate
Hi,
I used Matts Device Lock from another thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=45953) and now my Wizard won´t unlock!! Soft reset, HW reset, nothing helps. When I press the Unlock Soft button I get a blank screen - nothing else.
Any suggestions?
As of now I can´t use the device at all...
- Glen
I can still access the device via Active Sync (I can see the device in explorer) so any suggestions on how to remove the device lock program from there would be appriciated.
- Glen
pass...
worst case scenario cant you just grab all your important data through active sync and flash the phone with the same ROM - in affect reseting the whole thing?
hi guys.....i`m a new member in this forum.
right now, i have problem with my xda exec and need your help badly.
the problem starts with phone gets slower and it seems needed to be "soft reset" as always with the pocket pc.after i did the soft reset, the phone wont turn on.because of it, i try to perform hard reset on my phone, after i pushed 0 to restore factory default, the only message i got is "clearing now" for about 1 sec and after that the exec turn off again. i try this hard reset for several time and the result is still the same.
i also read in this forum how to get into the "boot loader mode" but there is nothing happened with my phone after i perform the 3 button push.
so, PLSSSSS let me know if any of you could solve my problem with my exec.......
btw, i already try to connect my exec with my pc and the message i get is unknown usb device
Andi, please don't cross post, and please use a helpful topic title.
Forum rules state this.. please read.

i forgot my password after upgrade my wm5 to wm6. i tried to to use spl to flash my phone but my pc cant open my device because my device is locked so the activsync cant do anything.
someone can help me plz!!!!!!!!!!!
*edit* i try to hold the camera and com man buttons adn the same time and press reset button. but it doesnt change
Firstly, I can't see how resetting the device will help you with your problem.
Secondly, how far into a reset do you want to go? Do you want to reinstall the OS or something slightly less drastic?
i just want to open my password. then i will upgrade my phone to wm6 with PIN
Did you set a password after flashing WM6? I've heard that if you do so, your device forgets your password after a soft-reset, and nothing will help your problem besides a hard reset.
I am having some problem with my MDA. Since two days, my text messaging has gone dead. When I press the messaging button on the phone, nothing happens. When I go through Start > Messaging - Nothing happens !! Even If i receive a message, the phone does not give any message.
I have tried soft reset as well as removing the battery and then restarting the phone but to no avail.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank You
What version of WM are you using and what provider?
Did you install any software in the near time?
If you did, what program did you install?
I am using WM5 and my service provider is TMobile USA. I have not installed any software recently.
^^Bump^^
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
If a soft reset and a hard reset were no help, try backing up your data and flashing to the official tMobile ROM.
