Internet Explorer Query - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Just tried booking a flight on Ryanair site using my sPV-m5000 (Universal)
a quirk prevented me. i.e. The list of departure places is available on the selector but the destinations fail to load - hence unable to book.
Has anyone a workaround? or would another browser do the biz?
Thanks for any help.

Positiontracking for several mobile phones with GPS via GPRS

We are looking for a solution that allows us to track the position of several Qtek 2020 all equipped with GPS. The idea is that a local application sends the current position to a central server and a webserver displays the positions on a map.
Do you now any solution like that?
Thanks,
Guido
Track position of two or more GPS connected devices
Saw this in another posting...
http://www.jgui.net/gps/gpswait/
Seems to offer some of the functionality you're after.
This company offers a solution which uses GPRS rather than GPS. The map can be viewed from any web browser (assuming you know the user name and password) and there is no limit to the number of units
http://www.cms-uk.net/
Thanks for the information:
http://www.jgui.net/gps/gpswait/ is doing the tracking by SMS, which is not what I am looking for.
The link http://www.cms-uk.net/ is not working.
Any other ideas.
Thanks
Guido

Pocket Internet Explorer

Hi.
I was wondering if anyone could help on this one. I need to identify the registry keys on an XDA IIi to allow me to remove certain toolbars/options within the pocket internet explorer. E.g Address bar etc.. Home icon etc. This is so that i can stop users from accessing other sites on the net and stay locked into a website on the XDA. Any ideas?

Launching local programs from a URL in Pocket IE on XDA Exec

I am trying to get Pocket Internet Explorer to launch a local program from
a file:/// URL. This used to work on XDA I, II and IIi but WM 5.0 seems to
have disabled that (probably rightly so!). Is there anything that I can do
to setup the device to allow this to work.
To date I have managed to get a link to launch a program from a webpage
held on the devices filesystem but if I try the same page when it is hosted
on a webserver the launch is silently ignored.
I suspect that this is something to do with security zones but I cannot find
any information as to how to configure these or even if it will work.
Any help appreciated.

mobile.southwest.com access from Wizard

I would like to use mobile.southwest.com. However, it detects that I am visiting with a PPC and redirects me to the main site.
The problem with this is that I often want to check in, and if you do it from the main site but don't print a boarding pass, when you "reprint" a boarding pass at the airport, it reclassifies your boarding group. If you check in with the mobile phone, it remembers that you are boarding class A.
I tried installing opera mini (which, since I use a T-Mobile MDA, required installing a midlet manager) and then going to mobile.southwest.com, but southwest still redirected me to the regular site.
Has anyone figured out how to go to the southwest wap site?
there is a registry setting, so your browser will be detected as a desktop pc,
don't remember the setting you have to search like registry setting for IE6
I need the opposite
The problem is that mobile.southwest.com is detecting my ppc as a desktop pc, and thus assumes I have an attached printer. I want to tell it that I am not a desktop pc.
How to spoof a desktop pc is in the wiki:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=WM5_Tweaks_Other&version=70
but I haven't been able to find how to spoof, say, a treo (on which this mobile.southwest.com returns wap content).
Tried them all
I have now tried PIE, Opera mini, Minimo, and Netforce 3.3, and can't reach mobile.southwest.com on any of them -- I'm sent to the main site instead. So clearly it isn't a browser issue but some other settings. Does anyone know how to spoof a wap browser?
The solution to this problem turns out to be to use a WAP browser. The two main ones are Klondike ($23) and winwap ($50). Klondike's trial has a not-very-obnoxious trial reminder periodically but my understanding is that it works indefinitely, which is very nice of them.
I tried the Tweaks2k2 changes and nothing helped with getting mobile southwest to work.
I downloaded Netfront 3.3 and if you allow WAP on the program, the mobile southwest will load correctly.
I called southwest before doing all this and got nowhere.
If anyone has an idea of getting the default browser to work, I would like to know before, I pay for Netfront.

Skweezer.net
Have any of you tried skweezer.net? It's a site that condenses web sites for small screens. I went there on my LAPTOP, entered mobile.southwest.com into the search window, and brought up the mobile version of southwest.com. I surfed the mobile site for a while. I even looked at the mobile pdf schedules page. Southwest.com never detected that I was surfing from a laptop, not a mobile device since I loaded the page through skweezer. I think skweezer might fix both problems.
Works for me

Click to collapse
Cool! This works!
Nice Bass Aggie.
Skweezer compressed the web site but it still does not bring up the mobile website.
Any other ideas on how to get it to work on PIE.

I'm using Summiter's last ROM:

and mobile.southwest.com works fine for me.

Can't Access Secure Sites Through T-Mobile

Hi,
Just bought my TD2, and overall happy with it... I started testing it out and noticed that the browser cannot access any secure sites (including but not limited to: ANY webmail like Yahoo or Gmail, school login, or internet banking site).
I am a T-Mobile UK contract user (Flext). When I first turned on the phone I let it automatically configure for internet use. For general browsing that worked fine, but wouldn't let me access the sites mentioned above.
I called T-Mobile and, though they tried to be helpful, never figured out the problem. I know this is not a general T-Mobile issue because I was able to access these sites on my older phone, and I know it's not a browser issue because when connected through Wi-Fi (to my home network) it's perfectly fine.
So - if anybody has had or heard of this issue before, please help! There must be SOME setting or option that I'm missing, that prevents me from accessing secure sites!
I have the standard ROM, which includes Opera 9.5 build 16277, and Internet Explorer (of indeterminate version). Both browsers have this issue, in different ways: Internet Explorer claims the website doesn't exist:
"Cannot find 'http://mail.google.com/mail/x/?source=mobileproducts&dc=gorganic'. Make sure the path or Internet address is correct."
Opera 9.5 does one better and crashes: "We're Sorry... A problem has occurred with Opera9.exe"... followed by the option to send an error report to Microsoft.
As I said before it's NOT a browser problem because when connected to my home Wi-Fi network, both browsers work fine in secure sites.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Wassim
The T-Mobile auto configuration puts an entry under Proxy Servers which you need to remove (go to "Settings, All Settings, Connections, Connections, T-Mobile Internet, Manage Existing Connections, Proxy Settings" and check "connect direct to the internet"). Your problems should now go away and Opera shouldn't crash any more (you may need to soft reset before this takes effect).
Thank you Pete... I can't believe it was that simple, but it worked! Funny thing is, I could have sworn that option was checked off previously. But I did it again, and soft reboot, and now I can access any site I damn well please!
I'll let the guys at T-Mobile know in case some other poor guy has the same issue.
Cheers,
Wassim
